The Month of May is well under way, and Conor Daly brought home a hard fought 15th place finish at the Indy Grand Prix to kick things off. He joins co-host Chase Holden to fill listeners in on how a lap one dust-up with Callum Ilott caused him to have to fight from behind and how tire strategy ultimately allowed him to make a late race recovery. They also discuss Alex Palou's continued dominance and Rahal Letterman Lanigan's surprise qualifying efforts. Conor shines a light on the attrition and inconsistency the rest of the paddock (besides Palou) is seeming to deal with thus far this season and how everyone is operating on razor thin margins of error that can make or break race efforts.Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves joins the show to highlight his quest to capture an unprecedented fifth Borg-Warner trophy. Conor inquires about Helio's journey from full-time racer to part owner of Meyer Shank Racing, and how the team is adjusting to their technical alliance switch from Andretti Global to Chip Ganassi Racing. Helio gives listeners insight to how the major IndyCar teams (Penske, Ganassi and Andretti) operate behind the scenes, as well as their similarities and differences. The guys also chat about Helio's Indy 500 ride, his legacy in the sport, how Alex Palou ranks historically and working with Conor as a teammate at MSR.
Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures!Palou does it again! RLL puts up a great qualifying performance for the Sonsio Grand Prix but Palou and Chip Ganassi put together another masterclass to get the win. That's 4 wins out of the 5 races so far this season and Palou's worst finish on the year is a 2nd place....WOW! Amazing season for him so far. Looking ahead to this upcoming weekend, Indycar has its qualifying session for the Indy 500. One entry will be BUMPED from the field on Sunday. Who will be the 33 competing for this year's Borg-Warner trophy?IMSA and WEC raced this weekend as well at Laguna Seca and Spa respectively. Porsche and Ferrari may have won their respective races in convincing fashion but it was action packed, in a good way, with plenty of on track battles! Really worth a watch if you haven't seen the races. Some great stuff up and down the field. IMSA's next race is on the streets of Detroit and then after that it's Le Mans for WEC and some IMSA teams that were invited.Larson dominates in NASCAR at Kansas. Coming up this weekend: NASCAR is at North Wilkesboro, IndyCar has the Indy 500 Qualifying, F1 is at Imola, and Super Formula is at Autopolis.

Creating a turbo manifold isn't THAT hard but creating one that doesn't fall to pieces in harsh motorsport conditions is a different story. In this episode, we sit down with Full Race's Geoff Raicer — someone who understands turbocharger and manifold development better than most and is more than happy to share what he's learnt... plus a whole lot more.Use RACE50 to get $50 off HPA's 3D Modelling & CAD for Motorsport course: https://hpcdmy.co/CADbFull Race has been around for a long time and has always been known for building some of the best turbo manifolds and turbo kits available — primarily for the Honda, Mitsubishi, and Nissan markets. Geoff and Full Race were even instrumental in bringing Borg Warner's line of EFR turbochargers to the aftermarket and yet, despite that successful history, you won't find a single fabricated exhaust manifold for sale on Full Race's shop these days — so what happened? In this episode, we chart Geoff's journey towards founding Full Race just as the modified import scene began to explode, how his business evolved through some challenging years, and what it's morphed into today — a very different beast from its early days. This is a fascinating story that saw Geoff and his team pivot in an interesting direction during the 2008 financial crisis, involving themselves directly with Borg Warner and later Ford in the development and testing of the 2.3 inline-four and 3.5 V6 EcoBoost engines years before the public saw them. This relationship has continued and we now see a completely different Full Race that puts the majority of its eggs in the Ford basket, pumping out some of the best Raptor 3.5-litre Ecoboost go-fast parts seen anywhere in the world. This episode touches on a wide range of subjects that touches on a wide range of subjects — from the limitations faced by Geoff in the early days of turbocharging, to the secrets to building manifolds that don't fail, to some seriously technical discussions around turbochargers, working with OEMs, the ins and outs of Ford's EcoBoost 3.5 litre V6, plus a whole lot more. Have you ever wondered how small aftermarket companies are able to drastically improve on parts from OEMs and huge players like Garrett or Borg Warner that have massive R&D departments and even bigger budgets behind them? If you ask this week's guest, Robert Young of Forced Performance and Xona Rotor, he'll tell you: “We try harder and we're better at it”. Of course, the reality isn't quite that simple… Luckily we've got a full two hours to dig into this topic and many others surrounding the world of performance turbocharging.Use FORCED25 to get $25 off HPA's Boost Control Tuning Course: https://hpcdmy.co/boostbOn this episode of Tuned In, we start by looking at how Robert became the turbocharger guru he is today as the name behind Forced Performance and Xona Rotor — the latter formed in partnership with Greg Jones of Tial Sport. This is a story that involves years spent studying physics and mechanical engineering, as well as hands-on experience at turbo shops and with his own projects that ranged from old Ford Fairlanes and fast air cooled VW drag cars, to the early DSM drag world of rapid Mitsubishi Eclipses. Both Robert's companies produce ultra high performance aftermarket turbochargers and turbocharger components for a range of vehicles, and as one of the main brains behind these sought-after products, Robert is an absolute goldmine of turbo knowledge. This means that the conversation quickly dives very deep into the world of boost, discussing a huge range of topics — journal vs ball bearing, billet compressor wheels, compressor maps, turbo sizing, and so much more. This episode is a true turbo tech info dump in the best way possible. On a fundamental note, the gradual return to normalization could see increased demand for cheap business casual attire… Analysts rate TJX a strong buy with a $110.84 average price target, implying over 11% growth potential. 4) Air Products and Chemicals (NYSE:APD) provides atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, equipment, and related services throughout the world. On IDB's ESG list last year, Air Products came in at number 18. To be fair, it's one of the riskier ideas on this list, with shares losing 13% year-to-date… Air Products and Chemicals also carries a moderate buy view with a $272 price target, implying 15% upside potential. If you want a potentially discounted opportunity among socially responsible stocks, this might be it. 5) Mondelez (NASDAQ:MDLZ) A multinational confectionary, food, beverage and snack company, offers everyday relevance for investors and consumers. And if the economy gets a bit wobbly, Mondelez should rise as a beneficiary of the trade-down effect. Notably, Mondelez ranked as number 15 on IDB's top ESG list… Experts rate Mondelez a strong buy with an $83.47 price target. 6) Bunge (NYSE:BG) A critically important name among socially responsible stocks, Bunge operates as an agribusiness and food company worldwide. It conducts operations through four segments: Agribusiness, Refined and Specialty Oils, Milling and Sugar and Bioenergy. On IDB's ESG list, Bunge came in at number 11… Analysts are optimistic with Bunge's chart performance, rating it a moderate buy with a $115.30 target. That implies more than 16% growth potential. 7) Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) Another top-tier technology enterprise, Adobe is a software giant. It's perhaps best known for its Photoshop program and other products aimed at the creatives community. Because of the rise of the gig economy, Adobe could be more important than many people realize. As for its inclusion as one of the socially responsible stocks, Adobe ranked as number 14 in IBD's top ESG list… Analysts rate Adobe a moderate buy with a $620.63 target, implying over 24% upside potential.” End quotes. ------------------------------------------------------------- Benefits of Sustainable Investing and 3 Companies Paving the Way! This next article comes from a site I haven't seen before – techbullion.com. Its author, Adriaan Brits, offers some good insights backing his stock picks. ICL's operations center around producing a sustainable food supply, focusing on soil health, plant nutrition, and food quality. 3) John Deere: Pioneering Precision Agriculture John Deere, a familiar name in agricultural machinery, has been pushing boundaries to make farming sustainable and efficient. The company's focus on innovations to improve machinery efficiency and promote agriculture makes it a promising prospect for sustainable investors.” End quotes. ------------------------------------------------------------- Why I Keep Loading Up on These High-Yielding, Renewable-Energy Dividend Stocks Lastly, is another article by an analyst who is frequently covered in these podcasts: Matt DiLallo at The Motley Fool. This article is titled Why I Keep Loading Up on These High-Yielding, Renewable-Energy Dividend Stocks and it's seen on finance.yahoo.com. Quotes… “The transition to renewable energy is one of the biggest investment megatrends of our lifetime. Over the coming decades, the world needs to invest trillions of dollars to decarbonize the economy. That should power above-average growth for companies focused on those sectors in years to come. I want to cash in on this megatrend. That's why I've been loading up on renewable-energy stocks. I recently bought a few more shares of NextEra Energy Partners and Brookfield Renewable. Here's why I believe they could generate powerful total returns over the long term. 1) NextEra Energy Partners (NYSE: NEP) NextEra Energy Partners has hit a speed bump in recent years. Surging interest rates have driven up its cost of capital. Not only have borrowing costs risen, but its stock price has lost nearly 70% of its value from the peak in early 2022, driving its dividend yield up to 13%. That has made it more difficult to secure new funding at an attractive rate to refinance existing financing as it matures and obtain new capital for acquisitions. Because of that, the company has had to alter its strategy… If NextEra Energy can execute its plan, it could produce powerful total returns. It would pay a very lucrative and growing dividend. On top of that, it has significant stock-price appreciation potential as its share price recovers. While there's a high risk of a dividend cut due to its high payout ratio, a reduction could accelerate its recovery by enabling it to retain more cash to fund growth and strengthen its balance sheet. This high upside potential is why I continue loading up on its stock. 2) Brookfield Renewable (NYSE: BEPC)(NYSE: BEP) Brookfield Renewable has gotten caught up in the growth concerns weighing on NextEra Energy Partners. Its shares are more than 55% below their high in 2022. That pushed its dividend yield up over 6%. However, its issues were more a matter of timing than problems with financing. The company grew its funds from operations by 7% per share last year despite rising rates and supply chain issues. That was slightly below its target of 10%, largely due to later-than-expected transaction closings in the fourth quarter. It also had one that didn't close because shareholders voted against the deal… Brookfield's dividend income and earnings growth alone could power total annual returns in the mid-teens from here. Add in a recovery in its stock price, and the upside potential is even more significant.” End quotes. ------------------------------------------------------------- One Other Honorable Mention 1) Title: Strong Buy Renewable Energy Stocks to Add to Your Q2 Must-Watch List on investorplace.com. One of the reasons why I love the world of ballroom dancing is because it connected me with an amazing global network of friends who, off the dance floor, come from all walks of life. Almost twenty years ago I met my wife Mildred through dancing, and through Mildred I met today's guest and a very good friend over many years, Vicki Sato. When she's not competing in and winning pro-am dance competitions with her professional partner Nazar, Vicki is a world leader in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotech. She has been fascinated by the interface of science and entrepreneurship for a long time. Having started out as an academic scientist at Harvard, she transitioned into the biotech industry with future stars of the sector Biogen and Vertex, where she spent 25 years helping to lead great teams, making medicines and building companies. Together those two businesses are now worth over $100 billion.Later Vicki returned to Harvard to become a professor teaching both science and entrepreneurship at Harvard University and Harvard Business School. She met a lot of talented young (and less young) people and mentoring young entrepreneurs remains something she loves to do.She has served as a corporate director of major companies such as BristolMyersSquibb and BorgWarner and growing companies in cool areas of science such as Denali, VIRbio and Allogene. Molecules and therapeutics developed under her leadership have become critical treatments for HIV, cystic fibrosis, inflammation, multiple sclerosis, and hepatitis C.In her latest adventure she is learning about and contributing to science and public policy by serving on President Biden's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) and the Committee on Science, Technology and the Law for the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine. She's the first guest I've had on The Unlock Moment who has her own page on the White House website!I'm looking forward to digging in to Vicki's journey, to understand The Unlock Moments of remarkable clarity that guided her path. And I'm always fascinated to hear her wise take on finding intentional balance to shape a life you love and that connects deeply with your values and purpose.--https://www.whitehouse.gov/pcast/members/vicki-sato/

Jill and Tom opened the program by discussing the show's recognition by Feedspot as one of the must-listen-to podcasts of 2023. Tom went on to discuss how impressed he was with the 2023 Lexus RX450e, the brand's first all-electric vehicle. Jill shared similar enthusiasm for the 2023 Honda Accord, especially in hybrid trim. The duo also spent a little time discussing industry supplier BorgWarner's spin off of its internal-combustion unit, Phinia, which went public last week. The move, per Tom, demonstrates BorgWarner's commitment to electrification. In the second segment Jill and Tom welcomed Sheldon Brown of Toyota to the program. Calling in from the Tacoma factory in Baja, Mexico, Sheldon shared loads of information about the redesigned midsize pickup, including intended buyer audience expectations, introduction timing, and details of the new Trailhunter off-road-ready trim level. Jill was subjected to Tom's “Corporate Fun Facts” quiz in the third segment. After the quiz Tom talked about the likable, but somewhat pricey Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Limited, which boasts cool retro design themes.

Well, that was a hell of an Indianapolis 2.5 right? We kid, but the 107th Indy 500 was yet another case of the tension being dialled up to the maximum in the final 50 laps! And in extra cool news, Ryan Erik King is back on the show this time around to break it all down! But first, we had to peel RJ O'Connell off of the ceiling as he celebrated his mans, Josef Newgarden finally winning the Indy 500 at his 12th attempt, the 2nd longest wait before anyone finally got their face on the Borg-Warner. And from 17th on the grid too! We had to address the elephant in the room though, and that was the finish. Not only did we get three red flags in the final 15 laps, we also gort a 1-lap shootout for the win in a moment where the series dusted off a rule that hardly ever gets used in order to do it. Was it controversial, an Abu Dhabi 2021, or something inbetween? We try to make sense of it. And we wonder, is Pato O'Ward becoming too aggressive for his own good? He went the complete opposite way compared to his last Indy 500 clash with Marcus Ericsson, divebombing him with 7 laps to go, while on fresher tyres... and then claimed he'll be more aggressive next time. Is he ruining his title campaign? All that and so many more stories in our review of the Indy 500 on Motorsport101!

When everyone was knee-jerk reacting negatively to the B58 engine in the A90 Toyota Supra, Stephen Papadakis & crew were the guys getting data, testing setups and then getting results on track on the 8,900rpm limiter.Use ‘PODCAST75' for $75 off your first HPA course here: https://hpcdmy.co/hpa-tuned-inAs discussed, Papadakis Racing hasn't had a B58 development program without any issues, but I think after this interview we can all honestly say there were not as many as we all might have thought! From boost response to bearing and engine coatings, lubrication and cooling systems, the quest for more and more power vs grip, this interview covers a lot of ground.Getting 1200hp from the 8,900rpm limited platform, the team hits 2023 fresh off a championship win in Formula Drift and dives into further development of their 3.2L stroker version on tracks that favour more power, vs their tried and trusted 3.0L version on shorter runs. The 6 cylinder alloy block runs JE pistons with stock rings, aftermarket bearings via ACL or King Bearings removing one choke point for failure along with a Supertech valvetrain and post 2021 6 port A91 B58 head. A BorgWarner 9274 is used with the 3.0L build and a 9280 with the 3.2L ensures appropriate turbo response for the multiple title-winning driver Fredric Aasbø. Low boost is around 1.2 Bar, high 2.3 Bar (17-33 Psi) with help from TiAL wastegates and AEM boost control solenoidsAlso discussed is why the CSF Radiator setup and similar are now so often found in the rear of a drift car along with some insights into the stock lubrication system, Valvetronic setup and how impressive, or unimpressive in the case of the stock bearings, OEM coatings can be on modern engine builds. Not discussed but of interest, the car runs an AEM Infinity ECU, Injector Dynamics ID 2000 injectors delivering E85 fuel, Brian Crower 100mm crank, MOAR series I-Beam Rods, Gforce GSR 4 speed dog box, RS-R Custom Coilovers, RS-R Racing springs and Tilton 600 Series pedal box.Want to learn how to tune EFI?

Is it going to be a rebuildable part? Is it gonna be a part that as intellectual property is not available to be sold in the aftermarket? How do we make sure that it's gonna be available when that vehicle comes out of warranty? The fuel being put in your gas tank today is different than it was 10 years ago Emission coil for Volkswagon- created a bent in the coil so that the pressure would come up and out and not unseat the coil Looking at the failure rates by product category. And starting to predict, what does that look like? 80% of the failures have been caused by contamination in the fuel tank. Delphi Technologies has designed a tool that is about 15 inches long and has a swiveling head on the end that has three magnets built into it. It has a replaceable cloth that you put on that. You take this tool, and you drop it straight down into the tank, and you push it around edge to edge, and if there are metal particles stuck to that magnet, your tank is contaminated Borg Warner purchased Delphi 2 years ago Fleet telematics Connect with the Podcast: Aftermarket Radio Network Subscribe on YouTube Visit us on the Web Follow on Facebook Become an Insider Buy me a coffee
