This heat is the WORST! I guess you could say it's going to cool off tomorrow with a high of just 87°, but I'm done with Summer. Let's get those crispy nights & chilly mornings going already. Jean's on vacation this week in Boston with her family, but I've got plenty of stuff to do this week with a big show on Friday at the Oktoberfest grounds…and a major concert announcement tomorrow morning. Speaking of this Friday's Megadeth & Obituary show at the Festgrounds, we talked to the legendary Dave Mustaine on Friday and ran that interview this morning. In the news today, a deadly shooting at a food festival in Seattle, a recall on a fabric dresser sold at Walmart, a deadly attack on a Pride celebration in Berlin, the latest on the shooting in Madison last week, and an update on the bio-hacker dude. The Brew Crew got a stellar start from the Miz yesterday and crushed the Rockies, Todd Gilliland may have won the $1 million in-season NASCAR tournament…but Corey Heim won the race yesterday, Tony Romo got popped for DUI over the weekend, and Lebron is heading to Philly to join the 76ers. Talked about what's on TV & streaming today/tonight…and recapped some of the highlights from this past weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego. Punch the Monkey just celebrated his first birthday and appears to be doing much better…and a dog that went missing over the 4th of July has been found & returned to his owners. A recent survey asked Americans if "flirting" with an A.I. program counts as cheating on your significant other…and about 1/4 of people think it does. Elsewhere in sports, the baseball HOF got some new inductees this weekend, Jacoby Brissett gets a nice contract extension, the 49ers head coach was involved in a pretty serious accident recently, John Tortarella is looking to coach again, and the NFLPA is investigating the Panthers after a player got seriously injured on the very first day of training camp! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaMan who broke into a neighbor's house and made himself a margarita, a #FloridaWoman who stabbed her friend with a pair of scissors, a guy who got stuck inside of a gas station sign for several hours, a couple of guys who parachuted off the space needle in Seattle, and a woman on a Carnival cruise ship that was scratching her feet with a fork.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After 30 years, North Wilkesboro was home to a points-paying Cup Race. Joey Logano finally got into victory lane after dominating the race. Logano is now above the cutline for the Chase and Jordan thinks this will help him get in the Chase. Another driver who had a great night was SVG who had 47 points and is 54 points above the cutline. The race on Sunday was under three hours, but did it really need to be 450 laps? And, just how good was the race? Penske won for the second week in a row,.JGR was fast as usual. But, things didn't go as well for HMS. With the help of a bad timing caution for Chase Elliott, Todd Gilliland was able to pull off the upset and advance in the In-Season Tournament Championship. He will have to pull off another upset and beat Ryan Blaney at the Brickyard to win a million dollars. Denny Hamlin finished second and extended his points lead. Is this his year, or will bad luck strike him again? With Logano moving above the cutline and Austin Cindric in 16th, can anyone knock them out? Or is the only driver those below the cutline can beat is SVG? More practice is coming, but is it needed, and who will benefit the most from it? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In the opening segment, or B.S. as we like to call it, we cover tons of ground, including the cause for Luke Baldwin's unfortunate wreck, Bubba Wallace's detrimental crash, and why the world of ARCA was buzzing this week. In Spot On, Spot Off, the topics we brought to the table were: - Was Alan Gustafson's call luck or strategy (or maybe even a little of both) - The package at Martinsville and the racing product - Jesse Love & Rajah Caruth's well-handled post-race conversation - The NASCAR Hall Of Fame Nominees List In Reaction Theatre, we hear from the Chasesexuals, try to pronounce SVG's full name, and get a not-so-nice Easter message for Denny Hamlin. Following that up is S*** Show Hall of Fame, and it felt like our nominees were being served up on a silver platter — with everything from Nashville Fairgrounds' short tracks faux pas to Porsches flying over catch fences. For Ask DBC, we ask Todd Gilliland if he really looks at the flag man, what he's doing with his week off, and what his go-to road trip snacks are. Three of SHR's charters have been sold and whoever bought the charter of the winning car on Sunday will get a boost in money. The move that propelled Briscoe to victory came after a restart as he passed three cars to get in first place. Denny explains how that happened. Denny also talks about what went wrong for him on the restarts at the end of the race. Did Chris Buescher right rear hook Todd Gilliland?Sunday's race was bittersweet for Denny and 23XI. Bubba Wallace was firmly on the bubble and things didn't go his way and he will miss the Playoffs. On the flipside, Tyler Reddick was able to win the driver's regular season championship by one point. The guys also talked about the art of short-pitting to gain an advantage. And, at what point did tire wear stop and the tires were even?Denny had a fast car but the only problem was he was fast on the long run. With so many races ending with multiple cautions, producer Travis asked Denny if his set-up should always favor short runs. The Playoffs begin next weekend in Atlanta and expect chaos. Plus, 23XI's Curtis Polk made a statement about the NASCAR Charter negotiations. Denny opens up a little bit about what's going on.For more Actions Detrimental content head over to our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@ActionsDetrimentalFanDuel Disclaimer: 21+ and present in North Carolina. NASCAR is headed back to Daytona this weekend for the second to last race in the regular season. Steve Letarte breaks down the strategy with team's fuel saving. With the Playoffs not far away, Tampa Timms thinks we could have a chaotic race.We saw chaos at Michigan going airborne. Letarte talks about the changes NASCAR is making with the lift-off speed to try and prevent that from happening. The Professor has a colorful model this week. At the top are: Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, Chris Buescher, and William Byron. There are some Ford drivers at the top of the predictor. But there are a couple that are missing. Joey Logano is the betting favorite. But, only two top-10s in the last 10 races have him in tier 2. Another big name the Professor isn't big on is Brad Keselowski who has 11 DNFs in the last 15 races at Daytona. Kyle Larson is 19-1 to win, but there is one problem. He's never finished in the top-5 at Daytona. If you're looking for a long shot, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Todd Gilliland are two good options. Tampa Timms has one simple rule for betting top-10s this week. “It must be plus money." For the first time all year, there are top-20 bets. The guys have a full breakdown of drivers worth betting on from William Byron to Cody Ware. The guys also chat about drivers that you could see lead a lap.Tampa Timms is normally not a fan of stacking bets, but Letarte has an idea for him betting top Toyota.Plus, the guys quickly preview the Xfinity series and why this is the week Sheldon Creed will finally get his win. For more Dirty Mo Dough content, head over to our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@DirtyMoDough
