Buffy is enjoying a rare night off with Willow and Xander, while across town, a young woman is pursued by men in robes. The next day, Giles scolds Buffy for what he believes is her letting her Slayer training fall by the wayside. Cordelia introduces Buffy to two fraternity guys, one of whom sucks, the other who sucks even more, but we find that out later. After an upsetting, angsty run-in with Angel on patrol, Buffy decides to accept Cordelia's invite to go to a fraternity party, lying to Giles about her plan that night. But, it turns out, the frat boys kidnap girls yearly to sacrifice them to a large demonic snake living in the basement of their frat house. They drug Buffy and Cordy, who wake up chained to the wall beside the snake demon. The rest of the gang finds this out and storms in to rescue the girls, but Buffy, of course, has it handled, cutting the head off of the phallic demon. Giles promises to take it easier on Buffy, and Angel finally asks Buffy out for a cup of coffee.CreditsHosted by Allie Press & Nick MercerEdited by Allie PressMusic by InflatonCultArtwork by Charlotte Fleming DesignConsultation by Evo TerraConnect with us on social media!Email: tabularasabpod@gmail.comTwitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok: @tabularasabpodConnect with Allie on social media:Twitter, Instagram: @DaughterpickTiktok: @futureblackcatbuymeacoffee.com/AlliePressVenmo: Allie-Press
Frat guys often get a bad rap as being snakes, but of course in Sunnydale the frat guys here actually ARE snakes…or giant weird lizard things to be more specific. This week Buffy begrudgingly agrees to hit up a frat party with Cordelia, and what begins as a night out to spread her wings (and maybe make Angel a bit jealous?) turns into a night of avoiding getting sacrificed to a giant lizard frat guy. Will the Scooby Gang be able to save Buffy and Cordelia from the lizard demon? Will Angel finally get the hint, and just take Buffy out on a coffee date? Welcome to the Boys Watching Buffy Podcast! On this episode, the Boys discuss Buffy having to save herself and Cordelia from a Fraternity that plans to sacrifice them to a, um… Reptile Boy!? The Boys (the non-reptile ones) also dive into Buffy having sex dreams about Angel, Xander getting hazed at a Frat Party, and Giles realizing he's been pushing Buffy too hard. Cordelia has a problem: if she wants to attend a frat party, she needs Buffy to come along. Buffy has a problem: Angel doesn't want to go on a date with her! Xander has a problem: no one cares about how much he isn't over Buffy. There's a lot of problems in this episode, but don't worry, because you know what solves all problems? Ritual human sacrifice to a lizard lord. Hear us discuss… Shut up about how much you hate Angel, Xander This episode's entirely unsubtle metaphor for date rape Who's the true reptile boy here? Willow, go off, girl! The swift, unyielding justice that is Sunnydale Trigger warnings Date rape, drug abuse, kidnapping, sexual assault

Por aqui, Vito reclama de estadunidense, Sofia reclama de "50 tons de cinza" e Gih reclama do roteiro. S02E05, "Reptile Boy"/"O garoto réptil" foi escrito e dirigido por David Greenwalt. Buffy and Cordelia buddy up in this one, like sisters with really different hair. Reptile Boy explores the consequences of lying to your elders, drinking, and fancying boys through the medium of a giant snake who represents a penis, but also maybe represents capitalism? Cordelia's reading material has a surprising cover story, Argentina's economic collapse is foreshadowed, and the homosocial dynamics of Xander’s pledge experience reveal something in common with a [REDACTED] ex-head of state. Listen now and find out.
The only way Edwina could convince her husband to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer was to do a podcast about it. This week listen to Edwina and Jarrod discuss the very campy episode,Reptile Boy.

Listen to us break down season 2 episode 5: Reptile Boy. We talk about the gross frat boy stereotypes represented in the episode which are a bit too true to life, and generally land on starting our own cult that worships the same demon as the frat boys we mocked in the episode. As usual Megan struggles to pronounce someone's name, and Mabel and Chris try to awkwardly play along as if they've heard of these "Makita" brand tools that Megan is so enthusiastic about. And you! You're gonna live forever! You don't have time for a cup of coffee? It's floppy-haired douchebags on parade and Lani and Noelle are having none of them, while celebrating kick-ass damsels and great story structure in Reptile Boy (S2.05).
When Buffy is invited to a college part, she lies to Giles and Angel about where she is while she parties with Cordelia. When the guys aren't what they seem, their lives are put in danger. Will the others be able to rescue them in time? Find out this week!
In this episode of Fire Bad, Tree Pretty, Amanda and Lydia discuss S02E05 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Reptile Boy." Points of interest: weird movie hang time, Dr. Debbie and her bad advice, The Ballad of Dickard and Balls, that graveyard convo leaves us stumped, Lies I Told My Non-Related Parental Figure, Rowdy Roddy Frat Boy, a non-specific Ask Jeeves search for the word "bent," Xander leaves his shift at Target to soft-stalk Buffy, shoddy housekeeping at the murder frat, our second Big Dick Monster of the series, the speed of justice in Sunnydale, voices we use for our pets, and lots of talk about The Patriarchy. CHOP IT WITH A SWORD.
Josh and Leah watch Reptile Boy and decide this is the best snake monster Buffy has ever seen. Frat parties always have champagne. As Cordelia drags Buffy to a frat party, she learns an important lesson about never lying to Giles or she will be chained up and fed to a giant snake. So my excuse for the crappy audio this time will be that it’s punk to not care about sound quality, and with Spike’s glorious debut I’m trying to make the show more punk. Yeah, that’s it. *sigh* Anyway, as unprofessional as I may be Theresa Fortier, founder of supportspike.com and producer at VidiotsOnline.com still agreed to join me this week to discuss the most important episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Episode 203, “School Hard,” and how it dramatically shakes up the vampire status quo of the series with the introduction of some exciting new characters. Also on deck we’ve got 204, “Inca Mummy Girl,” which introduces two more brand new characters, one arguably the most abused in series history and the other inarguably the most laconic. And in 205, “Reptile Boy,” the series addresses the fratboy cultist cliche in the metaphorical room that we all knew we were going to have to get to sooner or later. And yes the episode runs long. It’s punk, dammit. Leave me alone. When the Audio Was Bad! That’s right, in the ‘90s two high school kids with low-end lab equipment could resurrect the dead, but here in the 21st century two adult professionals can’t make a podcast that doesn’t sound like it’s broadcast from the bottom of an empty grave. Next: Theresa Fortier, founder of supportspike.com and producer at VidiotsOnline.com joins me to celebrate the introduction of a couple of brand new characters to the world of the Slayer in 203, “School Hard.” Oh and there’s also 204, “Inca Mummy Girl,” and 205, “Reptile Boy.” THE BREAKDOWN Intro / Guest (00:00 - 11:06) Main Topic (11:06 - 1:23:13) Outro / Next (1:23:13 - 1:27:21) THE LIBRARY Slayer Slang: A Buffy the Vampire Slayer Lexicon, by Michael Adams Buffy Goes Dark: Essays on the Final Two Seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Television, edited by Lynne Y. In this week’s episode, Buffy decides to join Cordelia for a night of fraternity fun after being let down by Angel. I’m ABSOLUTELY sure it will be a nice and chill hang out sesh, with no snake monsters or cult sacrifices. The rest of the gang is busy as well, what with Xander getting hazed, and Willow emotionally spanking Giles and Angel. Thanks for listening!
The Diogenes Club Podcast: for the love of Buffy and other awesome.
In today's episode, we discuss Buffy Season 2 Episode 5: Reptile Boy, Wherein Our Natural Aversion to Frat Parties is Reinforced. We talk about the continuing saga of Buffy's coming to terms with her blossoming sexuality and adulthood, discuss at length Angel's evolving roll in Buffy's life (and sidetrack ourselves on the nature of Buffy's and other fictional character's love lives), and begin Snakewatch 2017. All while observing the continuing smashing of the patriarchy that is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Please continue to like, share, and review us on Facebook and elsewhere. And as always, you can contact us, comment, and give feedback on any of our online platforms, our website (www.diogenesclubpodcast.com) and by email at info@diogenesclubpodcast.com. Stay tuned for next week's 3-episode release in our Ripper Arc, wherein we meet and discuss Gile's alter-ego--and one of our favorite characters--Ripper.
David and Michaela somehow get through an awful episode of Buffy, "Reptile Boy". Our hosts discuss all of the wonderful fashion on display, how vampires manage to shave, what sort of clothing the characters are wearing, the overly preachy tone of the PSA Buffy episodes and even manage to sneak some fashion talk in there. I'm gonna keep this short, since I think we're all still reeling from everything that happened last week. There's a fraternity, and they are just as douchy as you imagine but they also worship and sacrifice to a rape snake. Yeah, that actually happened. Also, Halloween rolls around, and Cordelia *really* disappoints me with her costume. I had such high hopes for you, girl. Also, I get a little sad about Robin Sachs. Be well, and know that me and Bitches love you.
Buffy and the gang investigate a series of abductions and murders. Rich assholes may or may not be involved.
Be warned, Gentle Listeners, this is not an episode for sensitive ears. Guest Babe Suki Braze joins us again to discuss Dick Monsters, dragon dildos, and so much more... Thank goodness for platonic friendship, because we need a little laughter to get us through this week's unfortunate romp in Sunnydale. Suggested Talking Points - Fake conference calls, Disney Channel virgins, dewey wet eyeballs, and the Buffy Word of the Week (hint: it's orgy)
today we go over angel and buffy's relationship (bangel if you're into that sort of thing), pirates of the caribbean 2, and wonder where exactly this frat boy lizard demon came from (but like seriously where did it come from? WHO IS HE)
This week our hosts delve into the mechanics behind vampire haircuts, try to understand a deeply disturbing fraternity/cult, and practice their best Cordelia laughs in support of the Cordelia Chase Foundation. For more Hot Chicks With[out] Superpowers you should check out: Emily is giving a classic shout out to "Game of Thrones" actresses Sophie Turner (Sansa) and Carice van Houten (Melisande). While GoT doesn't always do right by its women, these two ladies have been killing it. Haley wants to share her love of "Charmed" as both her first exposure to hot chicks with superpowers, and an enduring favorite. Hannah is sharing a guilty pleasure show - "The Flash" on the CW - and her potentially controversial shipping of the Barry-Iris relationship (shout out to Candice Patton!)
This week on Hellmouthy:Kelly and Ryan welcome the hilarious and thoughtful Charley Knapp! The episodes on the table are Reptile Boy and Halloween! Charley, Kelly, and Ryan tackle the tough questions:Are demons misogynistic or is misogyny thrust upon them by hooded frat guys? In Buffy’s spat with Angel, who is on the side of the angels (the answer may surprise you)? Is blood eyeshadow the new black? Can’t get enough Charley Knapp? Episode 2.5 - Reptile Boy by Tyler Blach and Lotus NW
This week, John and Ash discuss Season 2 episodes 4-6: "Inca Mummy Girl," "Reptile Boy," and "Halloween." The timing was very fortunate, so listen to us discuss the evolution of supporting characters in Buffy, Joss Whedon's ability to pull off high-concept television, and Ash roll off trivia this Halloween!
Reptile Boy finds Buffy getting preparing for the Delta Zeta Kappa party. Cordy needs her to get in and Tom's looking forward to her company - but Buffy's about to learn some hard lessons about dating on the Hellmouth. Kristen & Mike discuss this episode's mixed messages as well as their own history with fraternities. Next up, it's Halloween. The vamps might be planning to take the holiday off, but Ethan Rayne is not. As a tribute to Chaos, Ethan casts a spell switching everyone's personalities with those of their costumes. How will debutante Buffy battle Spike and his band of trick-or-treaters? Kristen & Mike debate Willow's costume and its effect on Oz, and then share their own costumed repertories.
Buffy blows off her friends and her duties to go to a college party with Cordelia. But things take a very dark turn when the fraternity party turns out to be the feeding ground for a phallic snake deity. Admittedly not one of the greatest episodes in season two, but that doesn't mean Andrea and Amanda don't have lots to talk about! We've got some seriously overt morals, and tips for picking up boys with Cordelia; complete with fake laugh, Andrea's is decidedly evil, while Amanda's is much more flirty. Amanda launches the ladies into an interesting discussion about why the bad decisions were made in this episode, and Andrea has some casting theories for Firefly. (it involves punches to the face)

This week, you're invited to a party near the graveyard, BYO Giant Snake Monster, as we discuss fake laughs, privilege and Americana in Reptile Boy (2.05).
It's episode five, and it's The Heroes' shortest episode yet. Today, they cover "Reptile Boy," "Halloween," "Lie to Me," and "The Dark Age." Why are they so tired? Is Hannah running the Conspiration 5000? Why is Preston so gleeful over yet another potshot from a certain ginger Brit? Come on in to find out!

The Art of Slaying - A Buffy The Vampire Slayer Retrospective
You will be sacrificed to my giant snake... wait, what show is this? J. and Brian chop up Reptile Boy
Gabby, Alirio, Kim, & Steph are joined once again by Chris from The Eleventh Hour Podcast to discuss Reptile Boy! Was there anything redeeming about this episode? Why were college guys cruising the high school anyway?! Who is that UGLY girl? hahahahahaha! hahahahahahaha! hahahahahahaha! DOWNLOAD... Read More
Reptile Boy is the fifth episode from the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While altogether funny and entertaining, it stands as one of the more well known Public Service Announcements of the series. What we learn here is that alcohol is bad, college guys are up to no good and if you discard your responsibilities, you just might get eaten by a giant snake monster. Join me, as I discuss set dressing overkill, transparent clothing and the top notch acting performances from Nicholas Brendon and Charisma Carpenter. As is usually the case, listen for my cue to start your DVD for synchronization purposes. Remember kids, friends don't let friends drink and slay. Please drink responsibly.... or I'll stab you with a spork.
