Odwiedziliśmy Saharę, pustynię Namib i Gobi. W Chinach zatrzymaliśmy się na pustyniach: Takla Makan, Tengger i Badain Jaran – Pustyni Tajemniczych Jezior. Poznawaliśmy pustynne krajobrazy na Altiplano w Boliwii i najsuchsze miejsce na Ziemi – pustynię Atakama w Chile. Byliśmy też na Pustyni Błędowskiej, zwanej „polską Saharą”, a przyjemne ochłodzenie znaleźliśmy na pustyni lodowej w Arktyce. Mówiliśmy o ekstremofilach – superbohaterach w świecie przyrody i estywacji, czyli reakcji zwierząt na działanie wysokich temperatur. Gośćmi Jerzego Jopa byli: dr hab. Małgorzata Anna Jóźwiak i prof. dr hab. Marek Jóźwiak.

In Spring 2021, Seoul-based label Extra Noir will make Tengger’s first EP, Electric Earth Creation, available on vinyl for the first time. Previously limited to a small run of CDs sold only in Korea, this 5-song 2013 collection reveals the genesis of what would become Tengger’s signature sound: hypnotic synths, spectral vocals, rhythmic propulsion and nature motifs. Electric Earth Creation, however, presents a harder, less ethereal and more danceable version of the band. The EP was produced on Korea’s Jeju island, after the birth of Marqido (synthesizers and programming) and Itta’s (vocals) son Raai, and the dissolution of their previous musical project, 10. Conceived in response to the house-bound isolation of becoming new parents and the wild nature that surrounded them outside, the songs of Electric Earth Creation feel like rituals to summon and celebrate Earth’s primordial forces. Available on limited editions vinyl (300 copies). Pre-sales start Feb. 5. https://extranoir.bandcamp.com/music

Episode Notes Episode 108 has new music from acts in Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, and Seoul. There's news on albums JuliaDream and 1/N, along with EP releases by Gwangju's 9Dreamer, Busan's Cloudian, and Seoul's Pago and KOHO de Seúl. Both 88 and Tengger feature on new compilation albums, while UZA, Cat Psalm, and Universe Mongae have a new collaboration out. The last few weeks have been a struggle to keep the podcast running to schedule, and I've had no time to follow up on new episodes of Amplify Extra. With winter holidays coming up, I hope to get back on track and have everything running smoothly by the new year. Mount Bromo is probably Indonesia’s most famous active volcano and sits at the Eastern end of Java between Surabaya and Yogyakarta. It's part of the Tengger massif and in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Kawah Ijen. A beast of a volcano, just shy of 3000 meters, will leave you gasping. Not only for air but also for a truly unique experience. It's home to the largest acidic lake in the world measuring only 0.7ph (with battery acid being 1ph!). Java is only the fourth largest island in Indonesia but contains more than half of the nation’s population and dominates it politically and economically. The capital of Java and of the country is Jakarta (formerly Batavia), which is also Indonesia’s largest city. If you're looking for inspiration on what to see and do in Java, you've come to the right place! In this episode, we dive deep into how to go about visiting the famous volcanoes of Java: 1. When were we there and for how long; 2. Our reason for going; 3. Highlight or standout experience; 4. Transport around; 5. Challenges; 6. Budget; 7. Overall impression; For more on Java you should have a look at the following articles on our blog: https://www.wewillnomad.com/indonesia-travel-guide https://www.wewillnomad.com/post/24-hours-in-jakarta https://www.wewillnomad.com/post/yogyakarta-walking-tour https://www.wewillnomad.com/post/prambanan-temple-tour-yogyakarta https://www.wewillnomad.com/post/how-to-visit-borobudur-temple-yogyakarta https://www.wewillnomad.com/post/5-reasons-to-visit-solo-indonesia https://www.wewillnomad.com/post/mount-bromo-what-you-need-to-know https://www.wewillnomad.com/post/blue-flames-of-kawa-ijen ABOUT US: Hi!
