The Righteous Will Not Be Silenced: Jeffrey Epstein Survivor Juliette Bryant Speaks Out

Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson

On this episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we are joined with Juliette Bryant, a courageous survivor of Jeffrey Epstein's vile sex trafficking operation. Lured by the promise of a modeling career, Juliette was instead ensnared in a web of calculated evil. She was abused, exploited, and flown to Epstein's private island where countless others suffered the same fate. This is more than a scandal. It is a moral reckoning. And yet, the full, unredacted Epstein list, containing the names of powerful men who enabled or participated in this wickedness, remains sealed. Why is that?Donald Trump promised the American people he would release it. Now, he mocks those demanding it, calling us “bad people” and “weaklings.” Well, it's actually bad and weak to fail to release the Epstein list, Mr. President. But we will not be intimidated. The righteous are commanded to expose darkness, not negotiate with it. Trump's evasiveness increasingly resembles guilt. It's certainly not strong leadership. We will not be silenced. Not by politicians, not by media, and not by fear. We demand the truth.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOoq6zS6i2LVAaJq4sRAuJqL9WZWgV03ccH9c4dufm2XMD0ozmV5S

This week my friend and all around amazing human, Michelle Robinson stops by and we discuss the very real, ongoing world of racism - not only policing. We discuss how other government bodies police Black, Indigenous, People of Color, the unhoused, identifiable queer folkx, and those engaged in active drug use. We examine a recent altercation that I had with police, as a witness to them "dealing" with a victim of serious crime. We also talk about many different ways privilege, nepotism, and my own race played a role in how the occurrence played out from start to finish. In March 2017, a 25-year-old man in Dubuque, Iowa placed a frantic phone call to 911. He claimed his girlfriend had just died in front of him - by stabbing herself in the stomach. The next day, he was arrested and charged with her murder. But was her death a suicide or a homicide? The question would divide a community, send shockwaves through the courts, and pit two families against each other.  Written and produced by Jessamyn Ansary, Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway. A classroom display of human skulls sparks a reckoning at The Penn Museum in Philadelphia. A movement grows to “abolish the collection.” The Penn museum relents to pressure. More skeletons in the closet. This episode contains swears.MORE ABOUT "WHAT REMAINS"Across the country, the remains of tens of thousands of human beings are held by museums and institutions. Scientists say they've helped lay the foundations of forensic science and unlocked the secrets of humanity's shared past. But these bones were also collected before informed consent was the gold standard for ethical study. Now, under pressure from activists and an evolving scientific community, these institutions are rethinking what to do with their unethically collected human remains. In this three-episode series from Outside/In, producer Felix Poon takes us to Philadelphia, where the prestigious Penn Museum has promised to “respectfully repatriate” hundreds of skulls collected by 19th century physician Samuel George Morton, who used them to pursue pseudo-scientific theories of white supremacy. Those efforts have been met with support by some, and anger and distrust by others. Along the way, Felix explores the long legacy of scientific racism, lingering questions over the 1985 MOVE bombing, and evolving ethics in the field of biological anthropology. Can the institutions that have long benefited from these remains be trusted to give them up? And if so, who decides what happens next? ADDITIONAL MATERIALThe Morton Cranial CollectionThe Penn & Slavery Project Symposium in 2019 included a presentation on the Morton Cranial Collection.aAliy Muhammad's 2019 opinion piece: “As reparations debate continues, the University of Pennsylvania has a role to play” (The Philadelphia Inquirer)Mar Portillo Alvarado's 2020 opinion piece: “The Penn Museum must end abuse of the Morton collection” (The Daily Pennsylvanian)Paul Wolff Mitchell's 2021 report: “Black Philadelphians in the Samuel George Morton Cranial Collection”The Penn Museum's 2021 press release: “Museum Announces the Repatriation of the Morton Cranial Collection”The MOVE bombing and MOVE remains controversyArchival tape of the MOVE bombing came from the documentary Let the Fire Burn, and Democracy Now!She Was Killed by the Police. Ruth investigates alarming reports coming out of Florida jails and prisons. According to a report by the NAACP, in one Florida jail alone, 21 inmates have died under suspicious circumstances with little accountability. From prisoners succumbing to treatable medical issues to beatings at the hands of guards, a disturbing pattern emerges - incarcerated individuals are too often left to suffer and die with minimal oversight. The lack of transparency around inmate fatalities ties into broader systems shielding police and corrections officers from consequences. Qualified immunity, police protections, and the dismantling of civilian review boards allow law enforcement violence and negligence to persist unchecked. As democracy erodes in Florida, it's the most vulnerable populations who bear the deadly costs. Join Ruth as she takes on the prison industrial complex and powerful forces undermining accountability. In this episode, she issues an urgent call to stand up against injustice and value human life.

Cesar Castillejos has years of experience fostering meaningful belonging for kids and young adults in youth ministry. He shares countless gems of wisdom in this episode, like- When should we come in as a learner and a servant instead of a doer? How are we using our opportunity and access to equip and empower others? Are we prepared to get out of the way so that others can grow? How can we create “holy confusion” that leads to awe and wonder about Jesus? Cesar addresses all of this and more.

“Will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?” — Luke 18:7 “No justice, no peace.” You may have heard this slogan in the context of antiracism protests. In January 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr., said, “There can be no justice without peace, and there can be no peace without justice. . . .” King spoke these words in connection with a protest about the Vietnam War and concerns about civil rights. In our Bible reading for today Jesus tells a parable about a widow who keeps pleading to a judge because he will not give her justice. The widow doesn't give up. She resists the judge's unfair treatment by way of peaceful persistence. She keeps coming to him with the simple plea: “Grant me justice against my adversary.” And eventually the judge caves in. Reluctantly he says, “I will see that she gets justice. . . .” Jesus uses this story to reveal something important about God. God is the complete opposite of an unjust, dishonest judge. God hears and responds to our prayers, promises to bring about justice (though it may not be right away), and gives us his peace. Father, thank you for hearing our prayers and giving us your peace. As we seek peace and justice in this world, guide us to rely on you, acting with grace and peaceful persistence to help bring right where there is wrong. In Jesus, Amen.

It is one of the many fun and happy sounding slogans that the world uses to demand that we consider horrific acts acceptable. To them "No Justice, No Peace" means that they won't stop screaming, burning, rioting, and threatening until they get their way. For followers of Christ "No Justice, No Peace" means that we will never find peace and rest in our lives until we accept God's objective justice. In this episode I delve into what justice is, what it is not, and what it should be according to the Bible. I also premier a new segment called "Awake, But Not Woke" in which I will expose the unscientific, unbalanced, senseless claims and policies of elites, leaders, and politicians. Their "rules for thee, but not for me" attitudes show their true goal, control without recourse. Welcome to this new episode of: Light ‘Em Up!  We are now being heard in 93 countries! Thank you!On this explosive episode, we shine the “light of the truth“ on Eyewitness Mistaken Identifications. From behind the one-way mirrored glass in a dimly lit room in the precinct police station, the police detective (or line-up administrator) has just given you these instructions:“Turn to the right, turn to the left, step forward, step backward.” This is the opening scene in your personal nightmare.  You've just been identified – mistakenly – in the commission of a major felony, and arrested.  As this nightmare unfolds in front of your very own eyes, the horror continues: You go to trial, are wrongly convicted, and sentenced to life in prison for a crime you did not commit.Trust in the fact that this happens more often than a person may care to know.Mistaken identifications in a criminal justice setting are a leading factor in wrongful convictions and are the leading cause of wrongful convictions in sexual assault and robbery cases. Let's not be naïve nor be in denial about the facts – while African Americans make up only about 13% of the U.S. population, they represent a majority of innocent defendants wrongfully convicted of crimes and later exonerated.People wrongfully convicted are exonerated for a variety of reasons: Official misconduct, perjury, false forensic evidence, false confessions, etc. By far the single greatest cause of wrongful convictions nationwide is eyewitness error. An eyewitness could be 100% confident and still be 100% wrong. Two exonerees were condemned to death and their sentences were carried out.We delve into:● the definition of an “in-custody eyewitness lineup” and explore the “procedural safeguards” (that prior to 1967 did not exist) in order to protect defendants from erroneous conviction resulting from mistaken eyewitness identifications.● best-practice solutions as to how to protect suspects and defendants from the devastating and life-changing consequences of mistaken eyewitness identification. ●to educate and empower you, we have painstakingly “cleaned up” and digitally re-mastered a portion of the original oral argument from U.S. v Wade (1967), argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. The landmark decision established 5th & 6th Amendment privileges of the right against self-incrimination and the right to counsel as it pertained to in-custody eyewitness lineups. ● we've itemized the 5 step “model lineup procedure” and discuss the traditional eyewitness identification practices and problems with the process.  Would it surprise you to hear that the NYPD uses Adobe Photoshop to “doctor” its in-custody “filler” photos? In order to continue to be a voice to the voiceless – we probe this perplexing issue that the Supreme Court has been grappling with for more than half of a century. You, I, anyone can be arrested.  Jesus was arrested.  Just because you were arrested – doesn't mean you committed the crime. You've been “fingered” in a lineup, now what will you do?  Know your rights – before you're “railroaded” for a crime you didn't commit. We'd like to thank our friends at Feedspot, as recently we were honored by being ranked #10 in their most recent poll out of the 40 Best Criminal Justice Podcasts.  Visit their blog at www.Feedspot.com or simply follow this link:  Best 40 Criminal Justice Podcasts You Follow in 2022 (feedspot.com) And for all your news and current affairs check out our friends at Newsly by visiting https://newsly.me.  Use the promo code L1GHTEMUP to launch your savings.  Phil Rizzo, Executive Producer

Two amazing humans navigate the grey as they talk about justice - restorative or retributive. Can restorative justice help to bridge inequalities and help us see the humanity in one another? Is traditional justice accountability? Is forgiveness necessary. We wrestle with a lot of questions in our first episode of the new year. This week Lara leads us on a deep dive into the legal frameworks that came into place in the aftermath of the Nakba, including the absentee property law, the law of return, and the nationality law. All these legal devices helped codify the actions of ethnic cleansing and land theft by the rogue Zionist militias into the "legal" actions of a state. We also cover the various ways Zionists stopped Palestinians from returning to their native lands. Lara discusses the examples of Iqrit and Kufr Bir'im, both towns where the Supreme Court of Israel had in one case already ruled in favor of Palestinian return, and the other where the case was pending before the court. In both cases, the IOF demolished the villages so as to render the return of Palestinians impossible. Lara talks about the many thousands of Palestinians who did try to return despite these measures who were murdered in cold blood. We discuss how these policies like the Nakba are ongoing and not something rooted in the past. Finally, we switch gears, covering the censorship of Palestinian content on Tik Tok as a strategy passed down from region-specific moderation teams where Israeli moderators set the standards and Arab moderators were kept in subordinate positions.

"How did it make you feel when your brother first wanted to protest?" My kids join me to share their own thoughts about attending peaceful protest demonstrations. I share the why behind our go, and the spiritual implications attached to our decision. "No justice, no peace. Some people mishear revenge in these words, but that's not what they are. They are a call for righteousness to abound. I cherish them because no matter whose mouth exudes them or what the person believes, they are succinctly expressing the essence of the gospel. We are collectively groaning for the same insatiable desire that only Christ can truly satisfy. Jesus is the embodiment of justice and love's collision. He's it!" -Bec McNew (Originally published in 2020)

In the midst of a historic week of protests, the national conversation about police is quickly transforming. This week, On the Media looks at the language used here and abroad to describe the "civil unrest" in America. Plus, are human beings, against all odds, actually pretty decent?  1. Karen Attiah [@KarenAttiah], The Washington Post Global Opinions Editor, on how our media would cover American police brutality protests if they were happening abroad. Listen. 2. Elizabeth Hinton [@elizabhinton], historian at Yale University, on the historical roots of American law enforcement. Listen. 3. Rutger Bregman [@rcbregman], author of Humankind: A Hopeful History, on what our policies would like if we believed in the decency of people. Listen. On the Media is supported by listeners like you.
