Brené Brown said, “What separates privilege from entitlement is gratitude.” Every year, we pause as a community for gratitude, in our annual Gratitude and Missions Sabbath. We recognize that we give because we have received from the lavish love of God (1 John 3). Paul says in Ephesians 5:20 to "Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” We take the time to hear stories, see pictures, and reflect on our own lives, rejoicing in the goodness of God. For “every good and perfect gift comes from above” (James 1:17).

Rhea Pechter is the magical mind and versatile voice behind the top ranking children's podcast Little Stories for Tiny People. Together, Rhea and David discuss the joys, uncertainties, and challenges of storytelling and daily life. As these two storytellers discuss their creative processes, Rhea shares her belief that there is something deeply comforting about making tangible things. They explore how the act of creating can be a way to center oneself in an often unsettled world. If we can sit with the inevitable uncertainty of life, we convey to kids that sometimes it's okay to be unsure. Head over to Sparkle Stories to listen to the story created from this conversation. Our story today is about a tiny person joining a family as a toddler instead of as a newborn baby, in a foster care or adoption situation. Foster care and adoption can look so many different ways and this story depicts just one way it might look (from the perspective of a sweet little hamster, naturally). My hope is the story can convey some of the many feelings that family members experience during such a time and can spark a conversation about how families can grow. Thank you to the family of tiny people that inspired this story: REID, NOLYN, MILES, BLAIRE, and MASON. Today's episode features wonderful SOUND EFFECTS from listeners GRACE, EVRYN, NORA, LUKE, BRIANNA, GLORIA, ALAINA, and SAGE. You can send me your very own sound effect. Little Stories for Tiny People: Anytime and bedtime stories for kids
Today's story features a little frog who learns to overcome his fears so as not to miss out on worthwhile life experiences. Also, it happens to be a subtle exploration of the challenges of early parenthood. You know, for all the Big People out there. Today's episode features wonderful SOUND EFFECTS from listeners NORA, EVRYN, and BRIELLA. You can send me your very own sound effect. Just use the voice memo app on your phone, record your Tiny People making a (recognizable) sound, and email it to rhea@littlestoriestinypeople.com! They might just hear their sound in a future story. Little Stories for Tiny People: Anytime and bedtime stories for kids
The Glowing Stones is about friendship and connection. There are times when things can get in the way of true connection with the ones we love, and this story explores how that can happen between best friends. This one is a bit more thoughtful and serious than some of my other stories. I hope you get something out of it. Enjoy! Tiny People, what should Little Hedgehog collect next?! It's up to you this time. Please record a voice memo with 1. YOUR NAME, 2. YOUR AGE, 3. YOUR IDEA for what Little Hedgehog should collect. Then email it to me at rhea@littlestoriestinypeople.com. You might just HEAR YOUR VOICE on the podcast! Make sure you are subscribed to the podcast so you never miss an episode! Jason and Brianna are two of the six co-founders of Tiny Heirloom. They build luxury custom tiny houses in Portland, Oregon. Cool! On this episode, they share the unlikely story about how they got started, grew in size and popularity, and ended up on HGTV's show Tiny Luxury. We also talk about simplifying our lives, the build process, and (obviously) how to find adventure in the everyday!
