What happened to the company that once understood India better than anyone else? For decades Hindustan Unilever has dominated kitchen pantries and bathroom cabinets across the country: Surf Excel in the laundry, Brooke Bond in the kitchen, Clinic Plus in the bathroom.  It was the undisputed gold standard of brand building in this country. Well, until it wasn't. Case in point: a couple of weeks ago, a journalist shared a chart from an HSBC report on social media.The chart listed some of HUL's biggest brands — Ponds, Lux, Rin, Lifebuoy, Kissan, Surf, Glow & Lovely, Vim, Bru — and showed where each of them stood ten years ago versus today.Turns out, most of them have barely grown, if at all. It's a political forecast we need to take to heart. It's the sound of a people deciding that survival is not enough, and that we are done negotiating for dignity one exception at a time.  When Billy Paul sings “Move on up” is not a personal affirmation. It's collective motion. It's disciplined, coordinated progress. Two by two means we do this together, not as lone heroes, not as isolated geniuses, not as individuals begging to be let into a burning house. It means we build capacity, we build systems, we build protection, and we build power that lasts.  And when he says “brand-new,” He doesn't mean a rebranding of the same old plantation with better lighting. He means structural change. New rules. New guardrails. New institutions. New expectations. A world where Black life is not an asterisk in somebody else's democracy.  So when the question gets asked, “Am I Black enough for you?” I'm not asking for approval. I'm asking if you're ready for the responsibility. Because Blackness is not a costume, and it's not content. It's an inheritance of resistance, creation, memory, and obligation.  In this episode, we're going to talk about what it means to move with intention. We're going to talk about fatigue and strategy. Questions are being raised about whether a politician's religious beliefs are of public interest. Christchurch-based National MP Hamish Campbell has admitted to TVNZ a connection to a religious group embroiled in alleged child abuse allegations. The group, dubbed the Two By Twos, has no official name or buildings, is not registered as a charity, and its members meet in homes. Religious historian Peter Lineham says he believes some claims are against preachers. "The only aspect that is concerning for people in the group is this - that because it's so secretive, the Two By Two preachers are held in such respect that an abused person's story would probably not be believed."
