The National Archives requesting past administrations -- as far back as the Reagan White House -- make sure they don't have classified documents sitting around. KMOX's Megan Lynch talks with Moderator of CBS' Face the Nation, Margaret Brennan about whether it may be a systemic issue. Plus the US and Germany are now sending advanced tanks to Ukraine. Why is it a significant development?
After giving a stern warning to NATO, Russia has followed through on its threat. Just hours after Germany and the US announced they would be sending their most advanced tanks to Ukraine, a wave of Russian missiles struck Kiev, and cities in the country's south. Ukraine's prime minister confirmed the attacks, saying at least 55 missiles had struck the country, mostly hitting energy facilities and power stations. The barrage followed Wednesday's announcement that the US would be sending its M1 Abrams tanks while Germany pledged its Leopard 2s. The move reverses nearly a year of hesitancy by NATO, over fears the delivery would further antagonize Russia. Ukraine, which had been asking for the tanks since the start of the conflict, is also lobbying for F-16 jets. But German Chancellor Olaf Sholz shot down that option, saying the fighter aircraft were not on the table. So will these latest moves by the West bring Ukraine much needed help, or will it further provoke Russian attacks? Guest: Vasyl Bodnar Ukrainian Ambassador to Türkiye

We hear why Ukraine is concerned by a US-German deal over the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The pipeline will bring gas from Russia to Germany, bypassing Ukraine, and Thierry Bros of the Paris Institute of International Studies explains the background. And we get reaction to the new agreement between the US and Germany aimed at preventing Russia from using the pipeline to exert political leverage over Europe, from Ukrainian politician Hanna Hopko, who previously chaired the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs in Kiev. Also in the programme, the Saudi Aramco oil giant has been hacked, and now faces demands to pay a ransom to avoid stolen data being released. We find out more from Chris Kubecka, who is a computer security researcher who got Saudi Aramco's network back up and running after a cyber attack in 2012. A day before the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, the BBC's Sasha Twining reports on what the event has cost Japan, and how much of that money it is likely to be able to recoup. Plus, we hear from Caroline Casey, who has successfully persuaded the chief executives of 500 major corporations to commit their boards to disability inclusion, and is discussing the achievement at this year's One Young World Summit.

As a "community service" I thought I teach our US-"German-speaking" audience some phrases you don't learn in school as a twist happened and now you even got a perfect example of "German small-talk" as my brother showed up. We do live tri-lingual. English is our go to lingua franca as we do have an international house-hold that is why nobody wonders if you sit around talking in a foreign language at our place. Thought it is fun learning something more about German culture by just leavesdropping to Germans. So we do have a learning session form "hätte, hätte, Fahrradkette" to "08/15" and then after 25 min. (yes, you may jump to that mark) Germans fullfilling all clichees without realizing (you will know what this does mean). So hold your ears stiff, take care and have fun.
