Adventuring on dirt is what brings everyone to Rodeo Labs. Yes, there are other contributing factors, but if your intention is not to adventure on bikes, on dirt, you might want to find a different bike company. With that ethos at our core, Logan wanted to do a bit of a deep dive into a fellow dirt adventure based cycling company: The Gravel Adventure Field Guides. Nonetheless, while reporting on the guides themselves, Logan found the project was a gateway into a discussion about adventure on bikes, on dirt, in the 21st century. So, in hopes of not ignoring those other voices, the podcast grew into something different from the standard Rodeo Labs production. In this episode you will hear from Juan de la Roca and Stephen Beneski from Gravel Adventure Field Guide, but you will also hear from Wally Wallace from the economic development office in Trinidad, Colorado; Kevin Prentice from Ride With GPS; and Gordon Wadsworth and Emily Hairfield who are cyclists from Roanoke, Virginia, and helped builds routes for the recent guidebook there. We hope you enjoy it.As always, thanks to Q for the theme song and thank you Drew for the exit strums. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

He's a good boy and he loves his mom and his name's George Michael; he's a dog! Welcome to another episode of One on Lund with your host Nathan Lund. I sat down with the hilarious and multi-talented Janae Burris and, to be honest, this one got a little heavy at times. Instead of focusing on comedy or Denver, Janae and I shared our concerns for the earth's climate, racism, and the class war that might be right around the corner. Janae is one of my favorite people to hang out with, whether we are performing together or playing Settlers of Catan or poker. She is one of the leaders of Denver's comedy scene, and her group Pussy Bros (along with Christie Buchele and Rachel Weeks) have done so much to help young comedians, especially women, with stage time and support. Check out www.janaeburris.com and make sure to catch her comedy soon. She is so funny and wise, and I will be more than happy to fight alongside her in the potential class/race war brought about by climate change! Be sure to email me at OneonLund@gmail dot com with feedback, questions, etc and thanks for tuning in! One on Lund is a painfully personal podcast featuring Denver Comedy Champion Nathan Lund. Nathan has performed the glorious art of stand up comedy for 14 years and has finally ventured into the wide world of podcasting. Big huge thanks to Mutiny Information Cafe and to Rachel Weeks for the One on Lund logos.
Hello and welcome to another episode of the podcast sensation that's sweepin' the nation, One on Lund! I am host Nathan Lund, and this week it was my pleasure to sit down with the comic sensation that's sweepin' the nation, Troy Baxley! Troy is one of Denver's most well-known comics, spending nearly 30 years working clubs all over the country. He started the open mic at Lion's Lair where Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy, Andrew Orvedahl, Ben Kronberg, Greg Baumhauer, and many more started their comedy journeys. Troy was something of a legend of the Denver scene when I moved here 10 years ago, and it has always been inspiring to watch him perform his craft. In this episode, Troy and I talk about Denver's many changes over the years as well as milkmen, pavers, and street sweepers. You know, real folks! Hello, listener/friend! Thanks for tuning in to another episode of One on Lund hosted by me, Nathan Lund. This latest installment features my good friend Kevin O'Brien! Ol' Kev was one of the first people I met after moving to Denver in 2008, and he remains one of my closest buds. Kevin hosted one of Denver's best comedy shows, Arguments & Grievances, and he co-hosted a fantastic podcast called "These Things Matter" with Taylor Gonda. Kevin and fellow comedian Mara Wiles moved to New York City in March of 2017 but they left a lasting impression in Denver's hearts. I hope you enjoy listening to me and Ol' Kev as we look back on our time together in the Mile High, living and loving and belting out pop-punk lyrics. Hey y'all, host Nathan Lund here. Thanks so much for listening! One on Lund is back and weirder than ever thanks to this week's guest, Sam Tallent. Sam and I have been best friends for a long time, and it was a real treat to record an episode with him. After living in Las Vegas for the past two years, Sam and his wife Emily recently moved back home to Denver, and it has been so great to have them in town again. Sam and I ran our beloved weekly comedy show Too Much Fun alongside Bobby Crane and Chris Charpentier for six years. We have also been the announcers for Lucha Libre & Laughs for almost 6 years. That's a lot of years, folks! We talked about wrestling a few times in this episode, and you can catch us calling LLL action live on Friday, August 10th at the Oriental Theater. Get tickets here: http://www.theorientaltheater.com/event/317330/Lucha-Libre-Laughs In addition to wrestling, Sam and I talk about our time sharing a bed at a giant house/venue called Mouth House, trying not to suck at Red Rocks, and so much more! I'll be sure to have Sam T on again soon so we can dish some more so stay tuned! One on Lund is a painfully personal podcast featuring Denver Comedy Champion Nathan Lund. Holy wowzers, it's a new episode of One on Lund! Thanks so much for listening, audiophiles of audio files! This week, host Nathan Lund is joined by the very funny Caleb Synan in an impromptu 2-part episode. So they had some lunch and returned to the Sexpot studio to talk some more, and luckily everything was successfully transcribed. Lucky you! Caleb is in town from Los Angeles, but he started his comedy career in the wonderful city of Atlanta. Denver and Atlanta have stellar reputations for their comedy scenes, along with other great cities like Chicago, Portland, Austin, New Orleans, and San Francisco. If you live in one of these places and haven't checked out local comedy, you're blowing it! If you're in Colorado, you can see Caleb perform at some of the best venues around! Jordan celebrated his birthday by buying some new pants and talking to Nathan about stand up, wizards, Los Angeles, and the unending saga that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nathan will join him in the near future, because Hollywood needs more chubby straight white men with beards! Ben was the first headliner of Nathan's weekly show Too Much Fun, and the two friends spend this episode talking about lost love, validation, knitting, and comedy crowd expectations. Ben was a part of the TV show Last Comic Standing a few years ago. His interaction with judge Roseanne went viral, so Ben talks more about that altercation in light of Roseanne's recent troubles. Due to an unknown recording issue, this episode ends rather abruptly but most of the conversation is available here and ready to be enjoyed! Hey y'all, it's episode 6 of One on Lund! Host Nathan Lund is back from the Orlando Indie Comedy Festival, and boy was it a fun time. Big big thanks to Dave Plotkin, Heather Shaw, Doug McPherson, Tim Murphy, and everyone else involved with making the festival such a great experience. Nathan talks about a dude at the Travelodge pool who had an unfortunate run-in with fire ants, and another dude on his flight home who wasn't too happy to see Nathan as his seat neighbor. He also saw a raccoon! Nathan also talks about the successful maiden voyage of the new comedy debate show at Oskar Blues Black Buzzard called Sticks and Stones! Hosted by Christie Buchele, the show pits comedians against one another as they debate topics like Manic vs Depressed and Boyz II Men vs Spice Girls. For the first show, Nathan argued on the side of Bad News against Aaron Urist and Fake News. After sharing several examples of increasingly bad news, Nathan ended the night with some great news: he won the debate! Sticks and Stones continues the tradition of a long-running Denver institution: Arguments & Grievances. Hosted by Kevin O'Brien at the Vine St. Pub for six years, A&G was one of the best and most funnest shows in town. It will make its return to the Mile High City on April 13th at the Oriental Theater and will feature many of the talented comics responsible for its success, including Chris Charpentier, Mara Wiles, Jordan Doll, and Sam Tallent. Holy heaven, it's episode seven! Join host Nathan Lund as he recounts his recent audition for the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. Thanks to Wende Curtis, owner of the Comedy Works, a whole slew of funny Denver comedians were able to showcase their talents for JFL scouts. Best of luck to everyone involved! Several comics from Denver have made the trip to Montreal for Just For Laughs, including the members of the Grawlix (Andrew Orvedahl, Ben Roy, and Adam Cayton-Holland), Troy Walker, Chris Charpentier, and Jordan Doll. It is often a multi-year process to eventually be invited to JFL, and this is Nathan's first time auditioning. Fingers crossed this journey ends with him enjoying some authentic poutine in the Great White North! This episode features Nathan promoting several upcoming shows and talking about his new gig hosting a weekly pub quiz/trivia night at Black Shirt Brewing Co. Think & Drink Pub Quiz is every Tuesday night at 7pm and is a lot of fun! It is free to play, and prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. If you're in Denver, come play some time! Welcome to episode 5 of One on Lund! This is the first episode that Nathan recorded without broadcasting via Facebook Live. While it seemed like a fun idea to be able to interact with listeners in real time, the live broadcast came with some audio issues and video freezes, and so Nathan will focus on the classic audio-only podcast format going forward. Perhaps future episodes with guests will be available on Facebook Live, but isn't it a good thing for all of us to spend less time on Facebook? Also in this episode, Nathan plugs the new podcast Shinin' by friends and fellow comics Sam Tallent and Dave Gborie. If you're looking for a fun and entertaining listen, check out Shinin' via Stitcher, iTunes, or the Sexpot Comedy website. Nathan talks about his love of professional wrestling and describes how he came to be one of the commentators for the popular show Lucha Libre & Laughs. Combining wrestling action and stand up comedy, LLL has been a Denver favorite for years. Nathan is eternally grateful to creator Nick Gossert for the opportunity to call live wrestling alongside Sam Tallent, with occasional support from Mitch Jones, Aaron Urist, and Ian Douglas Terry. Be sure to catch Lucha Libre & Laughs March 2nd, April 27th, and a huge 2 day event June 1st and 2nd! One on Lund is a painfully personal podcast featuring Denver Comedy Champion Nathan Lund. Hello there stranger! Thanks for listening to episode 4 of One on Lund. In this week's installment, Nathan "One on Lund" Lund talks about some of his favorite shows to do in and around Denver, including a very unique gig at the Park Hill Library and the super fun Mile High Movie Roast! Originally known as Mile High Sci Fi, hosts Harrison Rains and Matt Vogl made fun of bad science fiction flops for years at several movie theaters around Denver. One of Nathan's first goals after moving to Colorado was to be a part of it, and it continues to be one of the best shows in town now that Harrison works with a rotating cast of Denver's best movie roasters. Harrison and Nathan most recently blasted Billy Zane in "The Phantom" at both Alamo Drafthouse locations (Sloan's Lake and Littleton). Next month catch Christie Buchele and Zach Reinert when they roast "Indecent Proposal" March 9th and 16th! Nathan is real excited to be a part of the Orlando Indie Comedy Festival March 1-4th! It is a very popular fest and will feature headliners Rhea Butcher, Janelle James, and the one and only Sam Tallent! More info at www.orlandoindiecomedy.com In a possibly weird and unexpected change of pace, Nathan attempts to get serious and share some of his feelings in the wake of the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
