Zac Stubblety-Cook OAM is an Olympic swimmer, coffee enthusiast and Co-Founder of Sapidus Roast. This week, Kirk, Liam, and Zac explore the crossroads of elite sports and caffeine.  In coffee news: Metallica is coming to Australia (The Unforgiven III is on repeat) and Brian Niccol, new CEO at Starbucks has been tasked with turning around the company after one of its worst years in the U.S (surely a $100M contract helps).   We then DIVE into Zac's swimming career, from being 6 years old and scared of water, to swimming 60 kms a week and setting world records. What was his mindset during the Olympics, how did coffee fit into his routine, what was it like having COVID in the olympic village, and how did it feel to win Gold?? We also get stuck into the cold drinks revolution, Kirk's love for cold brew and nitro coffee, and so much more!! If you're new here (welcome), our show dives into some of the best coffee conversations on the internet, but we will always remind ourselves at the end of the day; It's Just Coffee! Welcome back to the Shannon Rollason Podcast for another week. This week with prize money in swimming going up and the upcoming World Cups having up to 1 Million USD up for grabs, should elite Aussie swimmers be paying for their own support staff, much the same as Golfers or Tennis players have to? It's a great topic of conversation and one that I'm sure will have divided opinions. Shannon also takes us through his Sprint Set of the week, and discusses the reasons behind it and how it can be progressed as the season moves forward. We talk about the news that Zac Stubblety Cook will be moving down to train with Mel Marshal in the new year, and why this is a good move for Zac at this stage of his career. All that and a whole lot more, of course song of the week as well. Don't Miss it

Added to this we learn about what it is that has made him so dominant in the 200m breaststroke over the last 2 years, which former Olympic champion he roomed with in Tokyo who helped him out with his Olympic experiences and just why he loves coffee so much and how he could potentially become a World Champion with it. He's the Olympic Champion, World Record Holder, World Champion and now Commonwealth Champion. Seems like the perfect mic drop moment for a 23 year old to swim like a frog off into the sunset. But while we'll never understand the stroke, this guy loves swimming fast breaststroke, and he's keen to take the WR even lower. Somewhat surprisingly, it may be his freestyle training that gives him the fitness to close faster than anyone in the field. Also, why is freestyle the only stroke that has events longer than 200m? Zac thinks he could be world champ at the 300m or even 400m BR. Sounds like a promoter needs to make this happen. There's the challenge. Any takers? Enjoy our chat with Zac! In this episode, I am joined by Zac Stubblety-Cook. Zac is an Olympic gold medallist who has recently returned home from Tokyo. Zac has been swimming for a while and although has been on the Australian senior team before, he definitely made himself known this year in Tokyo. He knows that he is a person before he is an athlete. Zac talks about how he has learnt to reflect over the last few years and how it all came about. He opens about the challenges he has had and how he was able to overcome them. Zac is very down to earth, and it was so easy chatting with him. I'm grateful that I was able to chat with him and I hope you enjoy the episode You can follow her on Instagram @zacstubblety To keep up with the podcast follow the Instagram page @perfectly_flawed_podcast --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/perfectly-flawed-podcast/message

We sat down with newly minted 2020 Olympic champion in the 200 breast, Zac Stubblety-Cook. After talking about his obsessive coffee habits for the first 7 minutes of the pod (this guy does not mess around with his caffeine), we get into his swimming. He takes us through his Olympic performance, and specifically through his gold medal race in the 200 breast, but then we take it back. Zac goes all the way to 2017-2018 to his first senior international team and the pressure that brought. He explains how he crumpled in that first scenario and how he addressed this anxiety and pressure moving forward.
