I'm here again with another practical and tip filled session to get you thinking about the role you play in your relationships? This question is key to our showing up and being our best selves, in the workplace, as well as outside of the workplace. It is important to figure out how we can flourish better together, because flourishing is not a solo endeavour. It does involve other people. Sometimes when we are caught up in different communication, pitfall scenarios, or conflict. In this episode I want you to think about the role that you take in some of those different scenarios. What is shaping the friendships, the co-working relationships, the loving relationships that you have? What role are you playing? What could you be doing differently?   “If we don't learn to master the role that we play in the relationship, and the role that other people play around us, we will sometimes be caught up in the games that people play.” - Samantha   3.38 - The sticking point of relationships at work 5.54 - Creating a roadmap of the people in your life 8.26 - Default frameworks we fall into in every relationship 11.05 - Switching roles in different scenarios 13.23 - Noticing what is coming up in ourselves 17.19 - Thinking about the 1 thing you can do differently   Resources: (books, products, websites, other podcasts)   >>>Read Samantha Clarke's book - Love It Or Leave It: How to Be Happy at Work - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Love-Leave-How-Happy-Work/dp/1913068080   Connect with Samantha Clarke:   >>>Discover Love It or Leave It on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/_loveitleaveit_/?hl=en >>>Connect with Samantha on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/samanthaand_/?hl=en >>>Find out all about Love It or Leave It - http://www.loveitleaveit.co/ >>>Follow Samantha on Linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/in/clarkesl/   >>>Order my new book LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT or watch my TEDx Talk

Today I'm talking all about pattern consciousness with Anna Murray. Anna is one half of Patternity, a business which is all about helping to celebrate the deep love of patterns; patterns in our lives, patterns in the way that we work and patterns in nature. It's all about understanding how we can shape the positive power of patterns to create new ways of being, new products, or new projects. Listen as we get down and dirty looking at the value of understanding the patterns in our lives and how we can learn to live in rhythm with things that are being born or dying in our lives. We talk about her transition from advertising into working for herself. We also dispel the myths around creativity. What does it mean to be a creative? How can we inject more creativity into our lives? And how do we also deal with transitions that feel messy, that we don't know where they start? Begin? And, if we feel caught in the middle of something, we give you some tips on how to find your way out and keep your head when everything around you feels a little bit tricky. “We're really seeing that that rising awareness of how our patterns of behaviour impact the wider patterns of our culture, of people, of nature and we're really having to re-examine what those patterns are and it starts from the individual, it starts from what is my purpose” - Anna Timestamps:   1.20 - Find out all about patterns and Anna's connection to them 8.03 - How do we allow ourselves to be messy during transition and change? 13.53 - Anna gives advice on how to keep hold of your identity as you go through transition 21.43 - Core questions companies have when working with Anna 28.47 - Discover how Anna is walking her values 40.30 - Anna's advice for people to continue being Changemakers   Connect with Anna Murray   Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PATTERNITY Twitter - https://twitter.com/PATTERNITWEET Website link - https://patternity.org/ Anna's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/anna__patternity/ Patternity Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/patternity/

I am joined today by Dr. Amina Aitsi-Selmi, a Chief Liberation Officer. Before this, she was a doctor who was delivering babies in war zones. She's worked with the United Nations on global disaster risk reduction, and she immersed herself in the world of all things medical with a high intensity life of being a doctor in high-risk zones. Whilst this fulfilled one part of a passion and purpose, there was a slight emptiness and she was really tired of being on the ambition treadmill, chasing one thing after another, and decided to retrain as a coach to support people to really recalibrate their ambition and drive into more healthier ways of working. We have a fascinating conversation on how people can actually make change. How do we take some of this deep ambition and drive and fuel it into a new career? She also turns the tables to ask me my thoughts on the subject.   “I believe that's where coaches can really help, when they help people go inside the mind and the hearts and look at what's going on, and see that they have some power to change” – Dr. Amina   Timestamps:   6.54 - Dr. Amina on her journey from Doctor to UN advisor 9.45 - Where was Dr. Amina's  point of passion burnout from the medical profession? 14.03 - Did perfectionism lead you to a blindness for what you want in life? 19.44 - Find out the obstacles Dr. Amina overcame 27.18 - Knowing you need to change but not knowing where to start 32.01 - Hear Dr. Amina ask Samantha her thoughts   Connect with Dr. Amina   Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/DoctorAminaUK/?view_public_for=444858039050486 Website link - https://www.doctoramina.com/ LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/doctoramina/ Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/iamdoctoramina/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOL4l2ECJcaTSoTr85qxN_w
