How to negotiate with the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, and does he feel empowered by his American counterpart, Donald Trump? „One very big misperception of the world and the US, especially President Trump, about the Russians is that they are very powerful. And this is very wrong,“ Leonid Litra told me. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the New Europe Center in Kyiv and a Visiting Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations. We looked at the American diplomatic negotiating tactics regarding the Ukraine war, how Kyiv assesses the situation, what Russia thinks about it, and where Europe is. Listen to our conversation. As you can tell, I love the cosmic events; because we all are cosmic events coming to planet earth, with different purposes. And that's also the reason why we want to bring this cosmic level of consciousness to our relationships. We want to explore each other's truth before assuming we know them. We need to provide more space and silence to really truly listen and make each other feel "heard". We want to be like the stars and the moon... Lara started her professional dancing career at age 10 with the Queensland ballet company's on-tour performance of Les Miserables. But it was later in her work life, that she finally achieved notable success at age 32, when she broke a 50-year-old insurance company's sales record in one week, amongst 600 national sales agents. Then at age 48, as a mature age student, she won an international scholar award for being in the Top 100 of 29,000 university students for academic excellence. Lara is known for her optimistic enthusiasm, strategic creativity, commitment to excellence, and lasting love for her family and friends. In this episode, Lara shares some potential issues or challenges that award nominees can face when applying for business awards? These include: 1. Visibility and Representation: Does the underrepresentation of women or other marginalised people in leadership positions and decision-making roles affect their visibility and recognition in business awards competitions? If so, in what ways, what are the consequences? And what strategies could be implemented? 7. If so, how can awards organisations align judging criteria with diverse leadership styles, to better support women and others in showcasing their strengths and achievements? 8. While some people do not mean to cause harm in this process, some of us do get harmed by following a path that God never intended for us. It is important to have proper discernment when it comes to this area so that you are seeking God's wisdom over influencers. God bless you Reina's! It's all about community. That was the resounding message in this episode with Meli Acevedo, certified yoga instructor, climate and environmental justice warrior, and overall badass! No matter what we talked about, the conversation always looped back to the importance of community and building trust. And, let me tell you, we discussed it all!Disclaimer: Meli recorded this episode outside in her beautiful yard so you may hear wind blowing at times, adding to the ambience. Also, this episode is a little longer than usual, but I promise you it's worth it!We talk:Why it's important to build community - 12:05My intro to yoga story - 25:31Being aware of the energy shared in yoga classes - 33:14Having discernment in helping - 41:41Yoga is for every body. Period! - 55:57Detaching from perfectionism - 1:07:36Meli teaches us how to have the discernment to help others. Many times, we get so caught up in the "help," part, that we don't pay attention to the "how," or the "what." Meaning, we want to help people so badly that we aren't interested in how they need to be helped or what we can actually provide. Her advice is to take it step-by-step:First ask yourself: what is your role in situation? Then ask yourself: what's your capacity to help? Then, ask the person you want to help for permission We also talk about perfection and I almost gagged when she said, "Perfection does not exist!" If you've listened to season one of this podcast or followed @pinkladyprod on Instagram or TikTok, then you heard me say something like this at least once. And it is something I absolutely believe!I used to be a perfectionist. I would stress over every little detail of every little thing. How I looked, how I sounded, how I was perceived by everyone... I had to learn, through years of life coaching and a spiritual journey that is kicking my butt (in a good way), that what I was striving for was a fake, shallow version of myself. And, I had no control over all the things I was trying to control. What can go wrong, will go wrong! That's what they say in theatre, and it is especially true of life.So here's my unsolicited advice to all of the perfectionists of the world: Instead of striving to be perfect, strive instead to do your best and be your authentic self.Check out Meli on Instagram @fatbrowngirlyoga.Episode References:Hood Feminism - book by Mikki KendallDiRTYOGA on InsatgramIgnite Yoga & Wellness InstituteEp. 4 - Forget about perfection and start your podcast!Ep. 44 - How to Feel Empowered and Rested with Ebony MolockEp. 46 - Finding Connection, Community, and Comfort in Yoga with Black Rose Yogini*This episode was produced by Pink Lady Productions --> pinkladyprod.com Podcasting Is the New Kink! is a Black-owned, woman-owned podcast, and we support other Black, Indigenous, Women of Color-owned podcasts and businesses. Welcome to season 7 of Podcasting Is the New Kink! This season is all about Black women yogis and it will be filled with many different yoga practitioners who have one thing in common: being committed to wellness and healing. To start it off, I interviewed Ebony Molock, Founder of Empowered Rest Yoga, and we talk about taking up space, yoga extending off the mat, expanding your knowledge, being empowered and rested, and much more!We talk:The difference between Shakti and empowered rest - 3:56Steps Ebony took to pivot her business - 19:08Benefits of yoga - 28:49One thing everyone needs to know about yoga - 40:04Advice for yoga beginners - 51:20One of the main themes that kept coming up in this interview was the notion of getting unstuck and making a change. Have you ever felt stuck? Like you were running on autopilot doing the same thing over and over, and couldn't make any changes? Like you could see the path you wanted, but you couldn't take the steps to get there? I've felt like that at multiple points in my life, but I felt it the most right before I got laid off. If you've heard my story then you know that I was miserable working full-time in a job I hated and having multiple side-hustles just to have a creative outlet. Instead of making a choice, I waited for something to change. That layoff was my wake-up call. I started my podcasting business shortly after that, and this podcast shortly after that. I was sort of, pushed out of my comfort zone. But, you don't have to wait for that push. You can choose to get unstuck and change to your life, and in this episode, Ebony talks about the steps she took when it was time for her to do just that:Found a new job that paid moreCut off multiple yoga classes/hustled lessTook more yoga classes/deepened educationDove in!Now, she never said it was easy. She actually said that it wasn't easy to follow this calling, especially at first. But, once she let go and trusted in God and put herself in the position to receive, she got a flood of support, letting her know that she made the right decision.Check out Ebony's website yogawithebony.com and Instagram @blackyogi_magicEpisode references:Sanskrit Moon YogaYoga & Mimosas - Every Sunday in May!empwrd.rest.yoga Podcasting Is the New Kink! is a Black-owned, woman-owned podcast, and we support other Black, Indigenous, Women of Color-owned podcasts and businesses. In this episode, Ivy Joeva, a doula, birth educator, and fertility coach, delves into the importance of holistic birth preparation beyond conventional methods. She stresses the necessity of dismantling societal perceptions of childbirth, advocating for a trust in the body's natural capabilities. Ivy underscores the value of experiencing and learning from diverse birth stories to broaden understanding and possibilities. She urges women to heed their intuition and ensure a supportive environment during birth. Additionally, Ivy critiques the hospital system's limitations and the obstacles women face in making informed birth choices. She also highlights the role of emotional and psychological readiness, the transformative potential of embracing discomfort, and the critical involvement of partners and informed advocacy in the birthing process. Takeaways Conventional birth preparation often falls short in adequately preparing women for the birthing process. It is important to unlearn societal beliefs about birth and trust in the body's natural process. Witnessing undisturbed births and hearing a variety of birth stories can expand one's understanding of what is possible. Women should prioritize their own voice and intuition during the birthing process and surround themselves with supportive individuals. Holistic preparation is essential for a positive birth experience. Exploring the emotional and psychological aspects of birth is crucial. Understanding one's relationship with their body is important for navigating the challenges of birth. Embracing discomfort and resistance can lead to healing and transformation. Including partners in the birth experience is beneficial for both parents. Informed consent and advocacy are essential for a positive birth experience. I think that this is one of the most important episodes that I've ever published on Outspoken Beauty and if you have a daughter/niece/teenage girl in your life then you need to hear it.My guest is Jane Kenyon who is the founder of an utterly brilliant charity called Girls Out Loud. Jane has been working with teenage girls for over 20 years and her charity enables women in industry to become "big sisters" and mentor them through some of the trickiest years of school.Jane's insight into the current chellenges that girls are facing is deep and makes for scary listening. Social media, porn, self doubt and poor body image are only some of the problems that our teenagers are facing. Whilst many women are having positive and empowering conversations, it would seem like the opposite is happening for the younger generations.During the episode we talk about what is happening and how we might be able to make change and whilst this conversation doesn't make for easy listening, I know that it has the power to inspire change and action and we have the power to come together and make this happen.

“Gentle parenting” is generally described as parenting your child without shame, blame or punishment. It has gained traction in recent years, driven in large part by social media. Fans of the approach say it's all about treating kids with empathy and respect, a stark contrast to the power dynamics of prior generations. But what happens when those well-meaning techniques — modeled so simply in Instagram reels — don't work with your family? New research is suggesting that gentle parenting may not be so gentle on parents, leading to overwhelm and burnout. We'll talk with experts about the benefits and limits of gentle parenting. Guests: Mercedes Samudio, licensed clinician and author, "Shame-Proof Parenting: Find Your Unique Parenting Voice, Feel Empowered, and Raise Whole, Healthy Children" Dan Peters, psychologist, parenting expert and host of the podcast “Parent Footprint with Dr. Dan"; author, "Make Your Worrier a Warrior"; co-author, "Bright, Complex Kids" Annie Pezalla, assistant professor, Developmental Psychology and Family Studies, Macalester College. Her recent article in the Conversation is "Gentle parenting can be really hard on parents, new research suggests."

Some ways to do this that we explored are empathy, knowing needs, boundaries, and awareness. Other topics we discussed were confidence, developing your shame proof village, understanding behaviors are needs and permission to grow into the parent you want to be. Lastly, we discussed culture, spirituality and religion.
