Dave hosts a Zoom group call which will feature, hopefully, a lot of familiar faces from the past 15+ years of the DITCOW/Sandwich Corner podcast. We'll chat about everything from Rory's historic Masters win the other day to the years of our conversations about sports and other stuff. Then we'll bring down the curtain on our small but mighty podcast which gave us memories, laughs and more. Saying goodbye is hard, but if we're going to end it, let's end it with a big party. Thank you all so much for tuning in all these years. The Corner may make an occasional return to break particularly big sports stories, but this episode marks the end of its original run. What a run it's been!
Chris in Syracuse, a.k.a. Get Your Own Show joins Dave as we recap the first weekend of the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. It had a lot of blowouts, but there were also some nice surprises and great battles throughout the field. We had Duke continuing its dominance with easy wins over their two opponents and BYU pulls together two solid wins to make the Sweet Sixteen. Plus we cover what's to come in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight rounds of the Big Dance. The Corner continues its own road to our series finale and it'll be great to hear from GYOS once more before it's all said and done.
Ari in Philadelphia and Gerry in Piscataway join in with Dave for our final MLB spot of the series, for the forseeable future. There could be some battles between Appalachian State and Texas State for Sun Belt, while Fresno State, UNLV, and others fight it out for the Mountain West title. In Conference USA, Liberty is not just a favorite to win, but potentially a favorite to make the playoff out of the Go5. We can also take a few moments to chat about what's to come for international soccer in the next few months, plus a pretty cool friendly between Manchester United and Arsenal at SoFi Stadium later in the month.

Later the two will preview the NBA Finals between said Celtics and Mavericks and all the incredible star power that goes with it. It's Jayson, Jalen, and Kristaps vs. Luka, Kyrie, and Daniel (Gafford). It's quite a matchup and the Mavericks, coming from nowhere, might even be a live dog. We'll preview the NBA Finals and take you through what to expect.
Mike and Andy are back to recap one of the most thrilling majors in recent years at Valhalla. Xander Schauffele finally gets his first major after a spectacular first round and a tremendous final round including some huge shots late, getting out of trouble and landing the ball when he needed it most to win the 2024 PGA Championship. Chris and Dave return to, first, recap, a great run of two Game 7s in the NBA's Conference Semifinal round. The Timberwolves make a stunning comeback late in their game at Denver to win Game 7 on the road while the Pacers crushed the Knicks over in the Garden. It was a pair of unlikely road wins for two young, exciting teams. We'll also recap the remainder of the Mavericks' series win over the Thunder, plus look ahead at the Conference Finals. The Celtics will have loads of rest as they face the Pacers for the East Finals. Meanwhile, in Minneapolis, the Timberwolves will host the Mavericks in Game 1 of their first West Finals in 20 years. It's a lot of great NBA talk with a lot of exciting action and possibly the best yet to come in the conference finals.

Suddenly, the Timberwolves went from up 2-0, to tied 2-2 after losing both of their home games to the defending champion Nuggets. We recap what happened and look ahead to the next round of games including a defensive showdown at the Birmingham Bowl between Troy and Duke, plus the ACC Runner-Up Louisville playing against USC without Caleb Williams in the Holiday Bowl. Later, we chat about the NFL week that was which included wild games of their own. Who would have seen the Raiders beating the Chargers 63-21? There were upsets throughout the league including another win for Carroll's Seahawks over Jalen Hurts' Eagles on Monday Night. Time permitting, we'll dig into the ongoing trainwreck between the PGA and the LIV Tour in pro Golf. This will be the last podcast of the calendar year, so we'll try to go out with a bang.

The golf panel returns! Mike in North NJ and John in CT re-join Dave to recap a thrilling, and most eventful PGA Championship from Oak Hill in Rochester, NY. Rain made for very ugly conditions and uglier performances during the 3rd round, but the final round on Sunday made up for it with some incredible golf. Brooks Koepka outlasted Viktor Hovland in what was a great back nine, and despite a really good round from Scottie Scheffler, he still had too much of a hole from Saturday. Plus: our usual surprises and disappointments and a look ahead to the rest of the golf schedule.
Our long-time sports podcast friend Tom in NJ joins us for this "second pilot" episode of The Sandwich Corner. On the show, we filled in our Twitch audience on how Tommy and Dave met, then we got into some NBA, talk, golf, candy discussion, and a bunch of great Random Q's from folks in chat, including friends from the DITCOW days and newer friends from the Sam Fam. Tommy's 3 year old son Landon was the real star of the show, dazzling the rest of us with his charisma and trying to eat Smarties that Dave threw at him. It was a great way to test out the new audio setup and start our new companion sub-series within the Sandwich Show on Twitch.
We made some key connection changes from the mixer to the computer and I think second pilot, or "version 1.5" breaks down how we cleaned up the connections, but also created a new problem of extremely low sound output to the computer. It's always something! Anyway, enjoy this extremely short update that's hopefully a lot better sounding than the first pilot.
Dave (Davy) tests out all the audio after a series of equipment updates, plus we share the latest on what's coming up on the Sandwich Show Q&A series, what's to come for this podcast, and some anecdotes about last week's Sandwich Show Twitchiversary Special. Note: This is a pilot for the re-purposing of the podcast, but the podcast itself is still a continuation of Sandwich Sports. The old episodes of Sandwich Sports/DITCOW will remain on this feed for the forseeable future.
Mike, John, and Andy re-join Dave to recap a very thrilling 2023 Masters Tournament that had it all: nasty weather that prompted lengthy delays and tree-falling hazards, an exciting leaderboard with Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka going toe to toe most of the weekend, and many historic moments including Phil Mickelson's tie for 2nd making him the oldest to finish in 2nd place at Augusta National. The panel recap a brilliant final round by Jon Rahm and quite the opposite from Koepka who went over 18 holes without a birdie on the final day. Plus we'll get into the other folks in the field from Jordan Spieth to Tiger Woods, and much more!
John in CT, Andy in Seattle, and Tom in NJ are back to recap one of the best weekends in NCAA Tournament history! Many huge upsets went down, including the epic 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson upset of the 1-seeded Purdue. It's only the second time in tournament history it's happened. Upper seeded Arizona, Kansas, and Baylor also were wiped out over the weekend, and there were many great games throughout all four days so far. There were also two notable bad beats in tournament action we'll get to as a panel. Join us as we preview a potentially spectacular weekend of Sweet Sixteen Action. Among the great matchups, a rematch of the 2006 iconic game between Gonzaga and UCLA. Both teams are much different these days, and it should be a great clash of styles. We also preview Arkansas and UConn, both tough teams who have risen of late. Plus, Florida Atlantic meets Tennessee, and Michigan State featuring the prolific tournament coach Tom Izzo meets Kansas State who just fought off Kentucky in the previous round. All in all, it sets up to be another chapter in what will be an all time great tournament, and we're excited to give you all the scenarios and potential betting angles.
John in CT and Mike in North NJ are back for the first golf recap of the year, a pre-Majors recap of the last month of pro golf, including the dwindling numbers for the LIV tour, a very underwhelming Players tournament that resulted in a return to glory for Scottie Scheffler, and a new ruling that could change the style of golf balls for the field. Later, John stays on for an NCAA Tournament Preview, going through the past two weeks of conference tournaments, then a look-ahead to each region of the big tournament as we begin March Madness. It's a season that many think is wide open for the sports, with no clear-cut favorite to win the championship. We'll recap everything in one big podcast as Sandwich Sports makes its return.
John in CT and Andy in Seattle join Dave for a preview of Super Bowl LVII between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs had a dubious path to the Super Bowl which included a lot of bad officiating that went in their favor during the AFC Championship. The Eagles also were underwhelming in their NFC Championship game, and some key calls bailed them out of a possible 49ers comeback. The panel will dig into the matchups and make their predictions for the game. If there's time left over, we'll have a few quick hitters on prop bets, chat about other potpourri, or both.
Incredibly, it's 2023, and we're doing our first Podcast RQ's of the year with our long-time co-host Kevin on the Cape! The panel (John, Andy, Ron, and Kevin) is back to recap amazing things from last weekend in football. The Jets pulled a huge upset over the Bills on Sunday, and LSU beat out Alabama in overtime at Baton Rouge. Notre Dame stomped a Top-5 Clemson team in South Bend, and we had a lot of excitement in both college and pro ball. The weekend ahead may not be quite as exciting but we'll share all the best matchups in Week 11 plus give you our picks of the week as the contest continues.
We've got a preview of Tennessee/Georgia and Alabama/LSU among our many topics tonight on Football Picks this week. Andy and John join us on stream while Kevin and Ron send picks via the text. It's quite a spirited episode as we get funny comments from TurboSwim and DaraHaydenMusic in Twitch chat while we cover another wild week in football.
Andy, John, and Dave are back after a great week of picks to recap some crummy games in both college and pro football, but there was still juice between the games when the 49ers traded for Christian McCaffrey before their game against the Chiefs. Despite his great game, the Niners still lost, but it could present a new dimension for San Francisco. We'll get into the trade, plus look ahead to games in both the NFL and College. There's a showdown brewing between Kentucky and Tennessee alongside a solid matchup between Oklahoma St. and Kansas St. In the NFL, we look at the pleasant surprises that are the Giants and Seahawks. This week, they play each other in what should be a sneaky good game. Later we have the picks as we try to build off a great Week 8 for the contest.
Our long-time friend of the podcast, Santoro, joins Dave to revisit the old days on TMF.com and their transition over to the new SFZ on Discord. We also debate a lot of random questions, such as is a hot dog a sandwich, embarrassing things Dave said on the podcast, TV shows, and more. We heard from some names from the Mike Francesa world over in Twitch chat, plus some of the regulars from Dave/Davy's new Sandwich Show, and it was a showcase of worlds colliding as we bridge the past with the present.
It's our first-ever Football Show streamed live on Twitch, as the panel returns to recap an electric Week 8 in football. Andy, John, and Kevin are scheduled on air, while Ron sends picks via the text. Tennessee pulls the huge upset over Alabama to remain undefeated, while Utah mounts a big comeback to beat USC in Salt Lake City. In the NFL, the Bills edge out the Chiefs in a much lower scoring game than expected while it was another battle of attrition with the Broncos, losing out in OT to the Chargers on Monday Night. The panel recap all the madness, then look ahead to this week's action which appears very disappointing on the NFL side while the College Slate features matchups with some potential with Texas taking on Oklahoma State, Ole Miss taking on LSU, and other games. Then it's our picks as we continue the contest and try for another solid week against the spread.
Kevin and Dave bring you a special Random Questions podcast where we'll recap the Picks results from Week 6 and the action on the football field last weekend. Later, we'll segue to Random Questions and take your questions about anything: Football, Food, Streaming, and anything else!
The panel is back to recap an enormous upset for the Miami Dolphins over the Buffalo Bills in a great showdown last Sunday and a similarly large upset for the Colts against the Chiefs in Indianapolis. Tennessee gets a big win over Florida in their big rivalry game, though not without a lot of fight by the Gators in the fourth quarter. USC toughs out a quality victory in Oregon State despite a bad offensive performance. Yet another coach is fired in College Football, Kevin will break that down, and the rest of the panel will join him in recapping the most exciting NFL Sunday yet back in Week 3 and look ahead to more great matchups in both college and pro football this coming weekend. Note: there were audio issues in the first 10-20 minutes of the show, the audio was only working on the left channel during this period of the podcast.
We try to pick up the pieces and recap a strange weekend of football with numerous blowouts and some shocking comebacks by the Dolphins, Jets, the Cardinals, and others. Herm Edwards was fired from Arizona St. back on Sunday and other programs had some shaky performances, notably UCLA vs South Alabama and Notre Dame vs Cal. The Bills dominate the Titans on Monday Night, and the panel look ahead to a showdown between the Bills and Dolphins. All this and more on our Week 4 Football Picks show!
Ron, John, Andy, Junkie, and Dave recap a positively chaotic Saturday in College Football featuring big upsets by Marshall and Appalachian State over Notre Dame and Texas A&M. We also saw a thrilling finish in Austin between Alabama and Texas where things got away from the Longhorns in their near-upset of the Crimson Tide. Later, we cover an exciting opening week in the NFL, featuring the Giants unlikely upset of the Titans, the Seahawks upsetting their former QB Russ Wilson and the Broncos, and a great game between the Raiders and Chargers. Then it's on to our picks from both sports, plus some coverage of Scott Frost's predictable, although sudden, firing from Nebraska.
