What’s Going On: A New Way Hebrews 10: 22-25 CEB 22 Therefore, let’s draw near with a genuine heart with the certainty that our faith gives us, since our hearts are sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies are washed with pure water. 23 Let’s hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, because the one who made the promises is reliable. 24 And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. 25 Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near. Introduction: The writer of Hebrews speaks of a “New and Living Way,” through Jesus Christ. There must be a new way… What is a new way? I. Faith Vs. 22 “Therefore, let’s draw near with a genuine heart with the certainty that our faith gives us, since our hearts are sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies are washed with pure water.” Faith is not easy because it doesn’t give verification first… II. Hope Vs. 23 “Let’s hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, because the one who made the promises is reliable. Hope is the strength to endure in the midst of the unknown, unfair, and unjust times… We have been here before… III. Love Vs. 24-25 “24 And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. 25 Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near.” God is calling on us to be the standard of Justice and Righteousness like in Amos 5… o Be the spark of love o Do good deeds o Meet together even when you don’t like each other o Encourage one another I Corinthians 13:13 “Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
