INTRODUCTIONMan… This week is going to be one for the books! This week we are focusing on Brick and Mortar businesses with one of Tiffany’s closest friends, Founder and CEO of Pet Boss Nation, Candace D’Agnolo. Candace walks us through some of her greatest lessons throughout her first 15 years of being a business owner and she shares the first 5 steps you need to follow to build an effective Brand. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODEIt’s not the right place right time kind of thing it's a you thing. It starts with you, you have to make the moves. It’s your responsibility to walk into a situation and take ahold of it. If you are in a room full of customers and they aren’t coming up to you, it’s up to you to go and talk to them first. You have to create your own opportunity.Candace gives insight on one of her first lessons in owning a brick and mortar business. Her number one problem, in the beginning, was spending money in all the wrong places. She was Overspending on products (inventory) and then wasn’t pricing products correctly. There are an art and science to business. There’s the “art” which is branding, the activity, and the customer service. Then the science is the money maker. How do we know what to make our prices? We tend to make the mistake of focusing on the art of business, the hardest part is the science. Strategy is a skill you MUST learn. The 5 things to building your brand: Think about the five senses that people experience within your business and what you want those senses to be. Become observant of the things in your life and the brands that you use and think about what elements that they use that attracts you to their product. Setting up your business to sell it. Building your business as an asset that has systems and process nailed down is critical to your team and self-care.A LITTLE ABOUT CANDACEAs a pet industry veteran since 2004, Candace har started companies in pet supply retail, wholesale bakery, dog daycare, pet grooming, and more. After successfully selling three businesses, she now mentors thousands of other “Pet Bosses” to see success faster together than doing it alone. INTRODUCTIONIt’s hard to make decisions for ourselves… it’s especially hard when the decisions are not liked by everyone else. We can’t let fear stand in our way of chasing our dreams. This week we have one of our clients, Matt Gil, join us to talk about his journey of leaving a full-time job to chase his dreams and build his business in the midst of a global pandemic.TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODELiving a life for someone else will cause you to lose yourself. You have to be selfish. We can not serve other people until we have served ourselves first. It’s as black and white as it can be. Be selfish and help yourself, then you can help the people around you. We have to learn to set boundaries to become free from what is holding us back.We think that building a life that we love is rooted in making more money, but it actually is rooted in being whole and true to yourself. Then after that comes making money - that’s when life gets more exciting. Owning your story is owning your value. Once you can stand up and say, “ I have gone through some s**t and this is how I did it, now let me help you do the same” you start owning your value. Owning your story will give you the answers to the question we all ask ourselves, “Why me?” It makes you see your value in what you have accomplished. It shows you what really makes you unique. Remember, there will never be another you on this planet. Your story is unique to you and you only. You can’t build a life when you are locked in a cage… the cage of fear. You can not grow without doing the things that scare you the most. Once you break free of those fears, you’re unstoppable. INTRODUCTIONEveryone gets thrown life cards, but it’s all about how you handle those cards that make or break you. This week we have one of our clients, Jerrica Dodd, school us on overcoming a life card and learning to put herself first. She takes us along through her story from the moment that she had life-saving brain surgery to how she founded her 7-figure business and pharmaceutical magazine in just 2 years. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODENo matter what, you have to prioritize yourself. You need to come first. We have said it many many times, you can’t help others until you have helped yourself first. If you are not prioritizing yourself, how can you expect anyone else in your life to prioritize you? The number one person you have to trust is yourself. When you trust yourself enough you can make BIG moves. You have to be open to new things, open to what’s possible. Fear hates movement, and you have to trust yourself to move. Take the most that you can get when the opportunity arises. Don’t ever miss an opportunity to learn. Leave all the rationalizing and the excuses behind and just jump at the opportunity presented to you. When you leave the excuses behind, the world will open up for you.Dreams and desires are meant to be illogical. We miss the opportunities because we try to rationalize every decision. Start taking the more illogical opportunities.A LITTLE ABOUT JERRICADr. Dodd has been a pharmacist for 20 years and recently transitioned into full-time entrepreneurship after a 17-year career in the pharmaceutical industry in various roles in Medical Affairs and Regulatory Affairs. INTRODUCTIONYou gotta learn to tell your story, Not only is it the essence, but it Is the backbone of your business. This week we have not only someone who has just done THE DAMN THING but someone who does it daily. Donald Spann joins us to tell us his story and how he went on to build multiple 7 figure businesses. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODEWhat are the possibilities if you go outside of the norm of how people are making money? The key to business is being innovative and thinking outside the box. The number one reason we all go into business is we want control of our time and enough money to enjoy it. The first person you have to take care of every single day is you at 100%. You can’t help others until you have helped yourself first. The one skill you have to acquire is the willingness to take action. You have to stop overanalyzing and coming up with excuses as to why you can’t get it done. The reason there are others out there playing a bigger and better game than you are because they took action while you didn’t. Making money isn’t hard, we just make it difficult. It is easy to make money if you really think about it. There is money out there sitting in someone's account. You just have to take action and be willing to go knock on their door and say, “Hey I see you have this problem and I know how to help you.” It’s that simple. The five steps to getting started. Take inventory of time and resources. Zero in on businesses that make sense and already exist that match up with the time and resources that you have. Taking some level of action. Gain some REAL experience. Create goals that you can stick to. Realize that the toughest battle you are ever going to face while moving forward is within yourself. A LITTLE ABOUT DONALDWhen Donald was 15 or 16 years old he made the decision that he didn’t want to work for others, he wanted to work for himself. He didn’t know how, but he knew he was going to make it happen. With a lot of trial and error at the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey, he ended up with 4 profitable companies in a row, with two of the companies reaching the 7 and multiple 7 figure-level. Since 2012, he has founded and co-founded or partnered in 11 companies, 4 of which have gone on to be acquired. Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche takes us on a journey through how she went from being a pre-school teacher to creating a financial movement for women all over the world and the lessons she learned. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE:Shifts are not always sharp. Shifts come in all shapes and sizes. Some may be big and life-changing. Others may be softer with what seems a small impact, but it has a greater impact than one would think. All shifts you will make are going to align and take you to one destination. Making shifts take time and that’s okay! It’s never a lack of resources - it’s always a lack of resourcefulness. Most people in business think they are selling to the wrong people and that they need to go find people who have money. But that’s never always the right answer. Your story connects with people's hearts, not their money. Being able to understand the right avatar and share the same values as them.People are out there paying for things. There is a market out there to sell to. Stop using the excuse that no one will pay for your service because 99% of the time you are wrong and there is a group of people willing to pay for what you know. Fear is the number one thing that holds women back from making money. The idea that money is for men is an idea that our society has created and engraved into us at a young age. Also a lack of access to the resources in order to make the changes needed to make the big money. Knowledge, access, and community. INTRODUCTIONTy Cohen is back for part 2, and it’s even juicier than part 1. Making money is easy, we just make it hard. Dive deeper into who Ty Cohen really is, why he does what he does, and how you can achieve your goals more effectively. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODEDesire. In order to get to the places you dream and hope for, you have to be willing sure. But you also have to have the desire to get you there. Desire and passion go hand and hand. When you want something, and truly want something - you will put in the work that is necessary to get there. It’s okay to not know how to get to those places, you will figure it out. It’s more important to know the direction where you want to go rather than how. Not everyone is going to understand you and your dreams. You have to learn to become comfortable with who you are and what you are doing is HUGE. People will teach you to focus on what you want. But we have learned that just wanting somthing really doesn’t get you far. It definitely gets you started maybe, but 100% won’t make it to the finish line. It has to be driven by an emotional why. Why is it that you want to get to where you want to be? What is your emotional driving force? The “why” is your fuel to your fire.A LITTLE ABOUT TYTy Cohen is an accomplished internet marketer, who over a decade ago, took a major gamble with his life financially by quitting his corporate job and starting a business of his own. That business soon became both an offline and online success for Ty Cohen, generating millions of dollars in sales and totally transforming his life as well as the lives’ of countless others in just a few short years.Today Ty Cohen is an internationally renowned Internet marketer, business consultant, speaker, personal development coach and author of over ½ dozen amazing book titles.Where to find and connect with him: Instagram: @CohenTyFacebook: facebook.com/CohenTyYouTube: http://youtube.com/TyCohenWebsites: https://www.tycohen.com/ Get a free copy of my new book "Kindle Publishing Secrets" by visiting: https://kindlecashflow.com/
Ty Cohen joins Tiffany to talk about discipline, focus, and consistency within your business. At the end of the day, you can’t be consistent until you are disciplined enough first. Tiffany gets vulnerable and opens up about where she knew she was lacking discipline, and then how she trained herself. They both go over tips and ideas on how to manage your time and your goals. Get your pen and paper and be ready to take some notes!TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE:Discipline discipline discipline! The name of the game is discipline. Ty talks about when he used to go to the library to use the computer with time restraints. He had to make himself FOCUS and not allow distractions to come and to take him away from his 20 minutes. Be intentional with your time. Don’t spend your time planning, spend your time, and DO the things. We can spend all the time in the world planning. But you gotta take that next step and DO THE DAMN THING.There are three types of people. One, the person who asks how you did something and then once they find out how much work it will take say “Oh yeah, okay I will start making those changes” and then one year later are in the same place they were the previous year. Then you have the individual who had something traumatic happen in their lives or their back is pushed up against a wall and they truly want to know how to do it. They are the people who take the information, uses it, and implements it. Then there’s the person who is already successful and understands knowledge is power and wants to learn more. Really take a moment, and be honest with yourself, which one are you? When you get comfortable and you are coasting, that is the most dangerous place to be. You always need to be thinking, great I made it to this place, now how do I get to the next level? Can the current version of yourself get you to that next level? If your answer is no then you have to take a moment and really not ask yourself “what are my weaknesses and what are my strengths?” No, you have to ask yourself, “where am I lacking discipline.” You need to make yourself disciplined in the areas that you have made negotiable. Life is constantly throwing us life cards. (Check out our episode about life cards) It’s how you handle those cards you’re dealt that truly defines you, not the cards. The key is to be able to pick yourself back up. You’re going to get knocked down in life, but you have to get back up and try again. Never be afraid of failing, because the greatest lessons you will ever learn are the ones you learn from your failures. A LITTLE ABOUT TY:Ty Cohen is an accomplished internet marketer, who over a decade ago, took a major gamble with his life financially by quitting his corporate job and starting a business of his own. That business soon became both an offline and online success for Ty Cohen, generating millions of dollars in sales and totally transforming his life as well as the lives of countless others in just a few short years.Today Ty Cohen is an internationally renowned Internet marketer, business consultant, speaker, personal development coach, and author of over ½ dozen amazing book titles.Where to find and connect with him: Instagram: @CohenTyFacebook: facebook.com/CohenTyYouTube: http://youtube.com/TyCohenWebsites: https://www.tycohen.com/ Get a free copy of my new book "Kindle Publishing Secrets" by visiting: https://kindlecashflow.com/
EPISODE INTRODUCTION: Have you heard Cardi B and Megan The Stallions newest song WAP? They DID THE DAMN THING She made money moves with this music video and we have nothing but RESPECT. Brilliant Marketing moves, listen in and we will tell you why. KEY LESSONS FROM THIS EPISODE: The money is always in the details. If you have someone in your corner that has a larger reach and audience than you, 100% take advantage of that. You’re stupid not to. If you do not have enough reach, you have to find someone who does. Stay relevant. Don’t let the current environment our world is in let you sit on the back burner and wait it out. Stay relevant in making money; be bold and disruptive! When you do something, do it at 110%. Do more than average. If you do average things, you’re going to get an average response. Know your avatar, and get them MORE of what they want. You need to ask yourself if you know your audience enough to cater to them. Do you know how to make more and more money off of the same customer? Cardi B made a moves that insured her fans and her haters were talking about her at the same level. While it is always great to have loyal customers and supporters, sometimes having haters are better. Not only is your supporters going to buy your products, but you best believe your haters are going to buy it just as well so they have more to say. If you don’t have people who don’t like you, then you probably not doing enough. Surround yourself with people who have the same value system as you. You need to be more open with the right people, and spend less time on irrelevant people that don’t live the life you want to live.
EPISODE INTRODUCTION: You feel like you're on a sinking ship, and everything that can go wrong is going wrong and things don't seem to be getting better, they're getting worse no matter how much you're showing up, how much you're praying, and you're like, "Man, I need a break. I need no more life cards handed to me for just a moment. It’s a special episode this week. I was in the middle of a coaching call with one of our STRONG members, Kenneth Burnett, and I had to pause and make sure to record it and share it with you. The world needs to hear these lessons. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE: I said to myself it's so easy sometimes to think to ourselves that we're in this space that no one else is in, and the truth is that I know for sure that each and every one of us are always on the same page in more ways than we know. Now life is going to hand us life cards and we absolutely have to respond to it, like that's a fact, right? We can't ignore these life cards. So here's what's real. We have resources and people around us who either want to help, can help, care to help, but yet we don't do it. We have resources around us. We allow our fears and insecurity to sit in the center of it, and then we really don't actually... We don't get what we need. You know how many times I allowed this same concept to hold me back. 1. LETTING INSECURITIES HOLD YOU BACK FROM ASKING THE QUESTIONS You can’t let fear stop you from asking the right questions. You can’t let your insecurities let you believe that you are inferior to others in the same room as you. 2. BE WILLING TO ASK FOR HELP, BE VULNERABLE, AND BE HONEST There is nothing wrong with asking for help. Sometimes, the only way to get STRONGER is by be willing to ask for help. You also have to be willing to be vulnerable when asking for help. I can't just need help and then not be vulnerable and expect to get the help I need. I realized how dangerous it was for me to always have to be strong and how dangerous it was for me to pretend that I had all the answers because I never allowed for room for the answers to actually come. Vulnerability is our strength. Vulnerability is at the core of being stronger, and with as many times as I've been hurt, I still stand today and saying being vulnerable is the most valuable thing that I could have ever have made a decision to do. It is our greatest asset that we have because if I'm not truthful, then there is no room for the person to come and help me. There is no room. Because I have to also say, I actually don't know what to do. "I need help" is totally different then me making it clear that I don't know what to do. Being honest with the world is a game of being honest with ourselves. 3. OWNING YOUR STORY Getting stronger is owning your story. Owning your story is your own ability to be the most powerful version of yourself, not just the greatest version. And for people out there who say "Tiffany, it's not a fight." Like hell it's not a fight. It's always a fight. You have to fight for your happiness. You have to fight. Hell, we're still fighting hundreds of years later for me to be equal, to be black in the United States of America. I have to fight for it, I have to demand it. I have to be clear that I am valuable, and I know my value, I don't need you to define my value. I have to be clear on facts like it is okay for me to be vulnerable. 4. TAKE INVENTORY Who is in your circle? What is around you? There was a time seven years ago where I didn't have it. Eight years ago, I definitely did not have it, and I was like I'm actually for real for real, I'm alone. Like I got people who care about me and they say they care about me but if I was in trouble, they could not help me. They wouldn't know what to do, they wouldn't know how to do it. It's like I wanted to have friends, like one of the biggest mistakes that I had was trying to build a circle of people who were friends to be vulnerable with who didn't also own a business or they weren't fighting for their dreams. If I'm fighting for my dreams, you're not fighting for your dreams, we really actually have nothing in common. We're just holding on to the past, we're holding on to insecurities of what happens when there's room, but if you live a life where you're happy in your nine to five making $27,000 a year but you're complaining about not being able to travel, not being able to buy said car and whatever else it is but you don't see the in congruency and you're like "Oh, I'm not doing that, that's too much work," yeah, we have nothing in common. Period.
EPISODE SUMMARY INTRODUCTION: Man, COVID is here and it is not planning on leaving anytime soon. What I don't want you to do is I don't want you to delude yourself with the idea that you're going to just wait this thing out. COVID or no COVID, you have to be prepared to DO THE DAMN THING, and you have to be prepared to DO THE DAMN THING consistently. This week I have DO THE DAMN THING Nation’s Community Manager, Anna Gonzales, with me to go over three areas that I really want you to focus on for the next 6 to 12 months. Mental Health, Connection, and Physical Health. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE: Not only is COVID here, but what's happening in our world as we know it is a hundred percent of time for you to make new decisions and make new moves. As long as you have breath in your body and God has allowed you to live, there is no reason for you to not be doing the damn thing. Question is: how do you do it in this new world? 1. Mental Health Before COVID, we all had our daily routines. We had social engagements. Things we did to be sociable within our communities. COVID hit and it ruined all of it. Now we are trapped, some alone, in our homes with the only connection to other humans is through technology. For some, that’s a challenge. You gotta get creative in your self care and your awareness of yourself. I'm going to look at the next six months and ask myself the things that I'm doing. My projects I would focus on. How am I helping? Are they similar or mirrors of the last six months?I'm going to pull my calendar and I'm literally going to look and see, what is this next six months? For sure. There should be a game plan for the next six months. Step number one is you've got to get creative. The next six months, the next 12 months, you've got to get creative, but you can't settle for just waking up, fingers crossed, that you get to the other end. Right? You've got to get there by design. If you're not inside of a program like ours, like Strong, where there's a design and a map, get in a program, find a community. Maybe there's something happening in your city. And if it's not in your city, it's online. 2. Reach out for help So reaching out for help is the other side of talk, connect. Connect in any way you can. Talk, connect, learn what your resources really are. Use Facebook. Don't use Facebook's video. You don't like it? Use WhatsApp. You don't like that? Use Google Duo. You don't like that? Use FaceTime. Use a different platform, but you still need to connect in any way you can. Maybe you don't want to talk. Share photos, share gifs. Make fun of something. Share videos, laugh together. Watch a movie together with watch parties. Just take time to connect and be willing to reach out. Do not isolate during this time. Take it as an opportunity to network with groups in Facebook or LinkedIn. 3. Physical Health So number three, what are you doing to your body? The stupidest thing that you could do is to not use this time to get stronger physically. Like it just doesn't make any sense. All of the excuses in the past of, "I don't have enough time-" Me. I'm guilty. You have more than enough time now. Stop making the excuses. Choosing what you eat is most important! Fuel your body with foods that make you stronger, give you more energy. You have all the extra time to cook healthy meals now. Ditch the packaged over processed foods. You have to get your health game together. Period. In times like these, it’s so important. Creating a new routine is where you need to start. Just add one new thing a day and see what happens. Build new habits. You don’t need to buy a program either. You don’t need a gym. YouTube has an endless amount of free things that you can do. Do something. Don't settle. Do the damn thing, period RESOURCES MENTIONED: Want to look into a community with structure to help you grow not only in your business, but in your life? If you're in a city right now that says you can't open the door and your business is shut down, is it really shut down, or are you shutting it down? Because the reality of the situation, like the real black and white truth, is that just because your city told you that you had to close your door does not mean your revenue stops If you're running a company right now, the truth of the matter is that if you could just get out of the framework of, this is what I do for people. “Well, Tiffany, I'm a gym. I've been a gym. And we have people who come in and they lift weights.” No, you have people who are trying to get stronger. You have people who are trying to change their body framework. You have people who are ... Your responsibility as a CEO of your company is to solve problems. And as far as I'm concerned, COVID has presented something really neat. It's presented the opportunity to solve the same problem that we've been solving all this time in a brand new way. The question for me to you is, are you going to step up to the occasion or are you going to continue to make excuses? TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE: Peter Drucker has a really neat quote that the business world has gobbled up for as long as I've been in business, basically he says that business is all marketing and innovation and to a certain extent, I do believe that's true, I do. To be quite honest with you, I kind of believe that business is marketing innovation and it's sales. Your ability to solve a problem is your ability to sell something. You know what sales do in our bank account? They allow us to pay bills. Sales in our bank account allows us to keep the door open. So is it really that you have a, Tiffany, hey, COVID closed my doors problem or do you have a sales problem? Do you really have a, the pandemic is here problem? Or do you have a, I haven't created something new to sell problem? The four things that I want you to think about right now as you're actually diving deep and you're reinventing yourself, or maybe you're like, “You know what, Tiffany? I haven't even started to reinvent myself. I'm just trying to get my ass out of bed.” I don't care which, where, place you're in, these four questions every single year for the 16 years that I've been in business in different companies and now as I coach and consult companies around the world, these four questions literally frame everything, everything that you get to do moving forward. 1. What Problem Do You Solve? What problem do you solve and then what problem do you really solve? Because a lot of times we're like, “Okay, I do solve this problem.” But really the answer comes back to me and it's like, no, that's not the problem you solve. You know what it is? That's just what you do. What you do and the problem you solve are two different things. When you talk about the problem, it should do one of two things. Actually, you know, I'm lying. I was going to say that it should make you mad or sad, but the truth is that the root of the problem is just going to piss you off. What problem you solve dictates everything. And then there's, what problem do you solve? And there's what problem do you want to solve? 2. Who Do You Solve It For? The second part of this important process is allowing yourself to choose and to say, “Well, who do I want to solve this problem for?” Yes, you get to pick and choose. Who do you want to solve the problem for And for me, that question is backed up with, who do you solve the problem for best? Take a moment with me right now, just for a split second. If you could have it your way and you could choose to work with anybody on the planet and it's not just you, maybe you have a team that you absolutely dig and you vibe with and you guys are in a great place and you guys have a certain type of a customer or a client that you just, they just, they give you guys energy in life. Who is that person? If you could have it your way, if you could dream and dream wildly, who would you want to work with? What do they look like? Are they male or female? Are they millennials? Are they 22-year-olds? Are they 49-year-olds? What are their habits? How do they roll? What are they doing right now as we're watching this? It's worth taking the time together. 3. What Gives You The Right To Solve The Problem? What gives you the right to solve that problem is absolutely everything. Because trust and believe when I say that the market today is looking for who's the best. Regardless of what you believe, people still have money. There is still money in bank accounts. This question of what gives you the right is actually stupidly important because what gives you the right will either make or break you. Yes, you could be like, “Well, you know what, Tiffany? I think they should hire me because I am honest.” All right, that's great. That's amazing. “Well, Tiffany, I've been doing this a long time.” Well, that's awesome. “I've been a doctor for 20 years.” Well, okay. Just because you've been a doctor for 20 years, doesn't mean that you're any good. Your length and time, your length in business is not what's going to bring it in for you. It's your ability to say, “This is what gives me the right.” 4. Why Are You Doing It? The wrong answer is,“ I'm doing it because I want to impact the planet.” Bah humbug. That's the byproduct of why you do it. The faster you get inside of, “This is why I want to do this thing.” The easier it's going to be for your person, the company, the individual, whether you're selling B2C or B2B, faster, they're going to run through your door and go, “This is the person. This is what I need to be in front of. This is the company that I need to lead.” Even if you don't sell directly and you're behind the desk, it still doesn't change the fact that whether they're dealing with the receptionist, the sales team or a vendor or contract, that they should be able to feel the extension of you period, end of subject. Why are you doing it? And the more honest you are about that answer will change everything.
INTRODUCTION: He said… “I Can’t Breathe…” If you can sit there and be quite about what is happening in the world right now, you are at the core of the problem. PERIOD. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE: White – supposed thought leaders – of personal development where are you? Like really where are you? You willingly take money from black customers and you stay silent? Wait what? That makes no sense to me what’s so ever – how can you stand on the stage – talk about love and inclusion, healing the world blah blah blah – building schools in Africa – and showing me the photos – and the video … all people and you are quite? Help me understand. The US/First World home that we both live in is weak. You stay silent – and I realize this week – you do it because you can. You remind me this morning that I cannot. Over the last five years building this company I have been chased, threatened by white people in this country – that don’t know me – simply because of the color of my skin when I land for some of my speaking engagements. You have not. Before I get on the same stage as you every single time – I have to prove – and reprove – and reprove that I should be allowed, but then when I get there – I am often reminded that I need to be grateful that I was let in – but to be clear they make sure I am not equal – I am black and I am a woman. No, I am not looking for you to put up a BS cute Instagram post that says “love all” or “stop racism”. I am looking for you to use THE SAME email list, phone list, large social media and mailing list that you use to sell and make a supposed impact – I am looking for you to make a real impact. One that will Impact me being your equal on stage, my children and black husband (who has been pulled over 6 times by a police officer for no reason) faster. I want to see you angry like I am. I need you to move. I don’t want you to – I need you to. I need you to Impact my friends that I love and my clients and DTDT community that I fight for every day. If you were to spend the same effort launching this campaign as you did the last launch things would be different today. I know it. I won’t believe that you don’t know or are unaware – I am taking notes daily. If you are going to be a thought leader in Personal Development and not part of the actual development of THIS thought the number one problem in our country for over a century- RACISM in The United States, then I am not sure if you have the thoughts that we should be following. Go ahead continue to stay silent, continue to protect your money. Again, you are either part of the problem – or part of the solution. There are no in-betweens … and I have now identified a new problem that I want to solve. Thank You.
INTRODUCTION: Are you the caregiver in your household? Are you struggling to balance the demands from home and demands from your business? This episode is for you! It's for the person who is either staying up to 3:00 in the morning with a child who's sick, a teenager in drama, parents who are either in a nursing home or in your home, and you're taking care of them. You're a caregiver, you're a provider. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE: 1. Don’t Compare Yourself To Others For me, it was like I am trying to juggle the world. I had the world on my shoulders. I feel like I'm battling bitterness, anger, and frustration. I'm sluggish because I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted. There's just not enough hours in the day. A tiny part of me, either before I'm peeing, after I finished showering or right when I'm parking my car, was daydreaming about the me that I could see that I believed to be in my future. But all I could say to myself every day was, "How the flip am I going to get there? This seems so damn impossible." And what's real for me, is that not only was it impossible, but I just got more and more frustrated the more I looked at how other people were living their lives. I had old friends from high school, or I had people who I saw and I'm looking at their life and I'm looking at my life and I'd be like, shit. This is so frustrating because I just feel like I'm alone. And if that's you, I want you to know that not only are you not crazy, but that there's a way out and you're the key in the answer. But I want you to understand that it's going to be a matter of you putting some things in place, being clear on your truths and making a simple game plan just to get to the very first level of alleviating pressure. 2. Alleviating The Pressure Number one goal is to alleviate pressure, understand where the brunt of pressure is coming from. And then once you identify, then you can go, okay, great. If I alleviate this pressure, X happens and then it will free me up to do Y. That is the key. Once I started assessing what was creating the pressure for me the whole game changed. If you want to play the bigger game, you have to drop the weight that’s holding you down. 3. It’s Not Always Going To Workout – BUT That’s Okay. It doesn't always work out the way we think it's going to work out. It doesn't always happen like that. That's just not the way this thing goes. And the sooner that we're willing to understand that and own that fact, the easier life becomes because we don't set ourselves up. Because we have to know the process. 4. Understanding The Time You Have Next lesson, I had to look at my time and go, okay, great. Where is my number one time? What's not getting done? What makes me feel heavy? I felt like I had to get out of the feeling of being a failure as a mom. I felt like I sucked city because not only was dad gone and I had no answer for that, but the house was a wreck. Now I could go and clean my house and spend six hours. I don't have the time for that. I can't do that. But guess what I did? Instead of doing that, I was like, well, how much does it cost me to hire a maid? That was step number one. And I found a maid, I started asking around instead of going online or in the yellow book, I started asking around to people I know. I know there are things that you do that take a ton of time. Getting rid of the things that mentally take you or that make you feel inadequate is step number one. When you alleviate time, you have more time to focus on the things that make you money. I'm not going to clean my house because for the time I could spend cleaning my house, I'm going to spend putting into making more sales so I can make more money. 5. Setting Aside Time For You and You Only You need time. For me, it was at night. I decided to have my kids go to bed around 9:00 o'clock. It was tough to get us in this routine, but it allowed me to have my time. And unfortunately, during that period of time, I made a commitment that from about 9:30 to 12:00 was my time. I took a tiny little part of my world. I just got committed to every single night, no matter what, this was my time. And it wasn't my time to relax. There was no time to relax during those days. No, that was Saturday and Sunday stuff. This was my time to sit down. I went through all of my proposals. I prepared the next day the day before every day. I prepared where I was going to cold call. I prepared the proposals I was going to give. I typed up the letters. 6. Find A Dedicated Place For You To Work You can't be working all over the place. You cannot. You got to have a tiny spot that's just your own where you can work and you can work silently, in peace, and keep all of your things there. It's so important to have clarity in where you're working. The truth of the matter is that you have a responsibility, 100% you have a responsibility to yourself to make it easy for you to win. And setting up these tiny pieces of the puzzle, make it possible. 7. Don’t Take Personal Calls During The Day I for sure did not take personal calls during the day. No matter what. Mom, dad, cousin, sister, aunt, uncle, did not take personal calls during the day. Any time from 8:00 to 6:00. I had to treat my job like a job. I had to treat my business like a job. I had to treat it with respect. Because if I didn't treat it with respect then no one else was going to treat it with respect. I had to be conscious of where I was spending my time, energy and effort. No matter what. 8. Indulge and Don’t Apologize You have to allow yourself to indulge and not apologize. Whatever it is that gets you to the next day. This is not about you doing something dangerous, it's not about you endangering your family, your children. No, but don't feel like you spending half the day in your bathtub with bath salts is taboo and you shouldn't do it. Don't let anyone make you feel like two glasses of wine is going to be the end of the world for you. Don't let anybody make you feel like you listened to hardcore rap music by Tupac Unedited is going to be a bad thing. I really truly mean you have to do, this is just about keeping your MO, your motive, your mojo and its prime every single day and indulging. You do not have to be super woman. You do not have to be Superman. You do not have to figure everything out, but you definitely have to take care of you. You've got to put yourself first. You can’t take care of others without taking care of yourself first. Period.
INTRODUCTION: It’s time to grow and build our confidence. We have to shift our perception of COVID-19 to being an opportunity not a roadblock. In this episode we are going to go over the top three things you need to get on top off to push through this pandemic and get back in the drivers seat. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE: 1. You should be selling online. The internet is open 24 hours / 7 days a week. PERIOD. First things first. Regardless of what product you sell, the internet is still open. As long as the internet is open, commerce is possible. You CAN make money. PERIOD. I, as a consumer, still have problems I want solved, plus brand new problems I need solved. My first business was a gift basket business. People told me time and time again to start selling online. But truth be told, I was too scared of the things I did not know anything about and understand. I look back now, and I wish I would have entertained the idea now knowing the power of the internet. The internet is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is always open. I don’t care what kind of product or service you have. What does matter is that you’re crystal clear that your willingness to rethink the way you are solving the problem you have been solving for a long time is going to be your gateway to you making the right shifts to make your revenue goals this year. 2. People still have money There are still people out there with dollars in their bank accounts. But they are only going to spend that money on products and services that they believe can solve a problem for them. The question for you is, how will you solve a problem? How will you take what you do to solve their problem? 3. You are going to HAVE to get creative You have to re-imagine how you solve the problem and who you are going to solve that problem for. You need to brainstorm. You’re going to have to re-work things over and over again until you find something that’s going to work in this new environment. THE HOW The number one place you need to turn to in order to start thinking about putting dollars into your bank account is: you have to create a product. Just A product that you can sell online. Examples: Childcare provider - Create kits and activities, and remote online babysitting. Own a restaurant- Sell some recipe’s or do a “cook with our chef” online trainings. Take your focus to just ONE product and sell that product online. I don’t want you to underestimate the fact that I, as a consumer, want to be taught. The world wants to pay you for what you and your company knows, not just exactly what you can offer, but your KNOWLEDGE. I turned my whole life around by simply just being creative. A skill every CEO should have, is creativity. When I first started I wouldn’t say I was creative, I would say I was practical. But my willingness to sit with a dry erase marker and some paper or a white board and map out my ideas and allow myself to just dream, magic was created. It forced me to be more and more creative each and every day. I don’t need to be the best, I need to be different. If you are not selling online you are missing out on a ton of opportunity. Period. Be different. Be creative. Everything is possible if you stop thinking small, if you’re willing to do the hard stuff, and if you’re willing to be creative.
Episode Summary: Real Talk! The time is now to start making money moves and get prepared. It is not the time for you to lay on the couch. It’s another game of survival of the fittest. Listen in to find out how to be fully prepared for this pandemic to not only get through the next 30, 60, 120 days, but prepared to be ahead of the curve and not be left behind. Key Lessons From This Episode: 1. Pivoting and Planning. You don’t prepare once the storm hits, you have to prepare BEFORE it hits. The preparation we did before everything hit the fan changed the game for us. How many hours are you spending a day to become strong and fighting for yourself to be stronger? As a CEO, I have people depending on me, they are depending on me to steer this ship to make sure we can make it through this whole thing. As a CEO, being prepared is your job. PERIOD. 2. Choosing to not focus on what you CAN’T control, but on what you CAN control You cannot control the length of time we are under these new circumstances. While some parts of the country are opening up sooner than others, it’s still going to be long time before the country is fully up and running to its full potential again. It’s something we cannot control, but we can control how we respond and how we manage our time during it all. You can control where you spend your time and this is the perfect time to be learning new skills. We learned we had to fill a gap in our company. We are great with our live experiences, but we had to learn how to shift all of it to be virtual. That meant new tools, new processes. I’m not going to lie, we hit roadblocks. But that doesn’t change the fact that we took this opportunity of time to fix the gap and ultimately make ourselves stronger in the long run. You have an opportunity to catch up and pass your competition right now. Don’t waste it. Putting in the hard work now will pay off in the future. Nothing is going to happen if you don’t put in the work. You cannot control how other businesses decide to step up to the plate. Some of our competitors are making big moves. For example some of them have created programs where their clients can set their own prices for the products they purchase. While that’s a great call for them, it’s not a great call for us. We only have jurisdiction on the decisions we make. Your decisions are the only ones you have control over. Period. We do not have control over contracting the virus or not. There’s the precautions that can be followed, but it’s an invisible threat. I cannot control it. I can however, control how strong my body is. I had to prepare not only my business, but my body. Whose going to make the game changing decisions if I’m not able to step up to the plate? I cut out drinking for thirty days. Not because I was drinking too much, but because I had to teach myself discipline to make sure I’m ALWAYS at the top of my game. I was going to the gym every day, twice a day. My gym is 15 minutes away. That’s an hour of my day just traveling to and from the gym. That’s out of my control, but how I spent that hour is something I could control. I was catching up on trainings I fell behind in or reading. I was making myself STRONGER to make sure I could get through this. I controlled how my body and mind was going to be during these uncertain times. 3. Sales, Marketing, and Systems. The three major areas to focus on in your company during this time are sales, marketing, and systems. Sales I had to ask myself, are my offers pandemic proof? Do they help my customers get short term wins so that when the market opens back up they can have long term wins? The short term walks into the door of the long term. Period. Our new products are created to last until the end of the year regardless of the fact that people are locked down in their homes or if they are out running around. You want to make sure that your products and services meet the same standard, it will make your life so much easier. Ask yourself these questions when you start evaluating your sales game. How and what are you using to sell? What is the prospect seeing? What tools are you using to manage that prospect, and how do you track them once you have turned them into revenue? Marketing We are evaluating and going through all channels of social media in our company. Anything that included building an audience, was the second most important thing we looked at. We started with just one project at a time to make them better. Tools What systems and tools do you use to make all the magic happen? We can do so much because we are tool heavy. Head to www.dtdttools.com to see what our favorite tools to use in our company are. You can see why we use them and why we love them. If you are going to invest in a tool, hands down invest in one that tracks data. Data is facts. Factual data helps me make the best decisions and allows me to fail faster. The more and the faster I fail the easier things become. You need to look at these three areas in your business like yesterday. If you don’t adjust to what the market is doing and selling today, and just wait, you will be left behind. Life is to flipping short. I’m not waiting for my dreams to happen and neither should you. Key Lessons From This Episode: The number one hole small companies have is in their offers. Don’t be focused on the quantity of sales, be focused on the quality. Build stuff that can last. Create a team that can become a family, but also an atmosphere where your clients can also feel as if they are apart of a family. Making a connection with your clients by using your story can build trust and a relationship with them. Create more offers. The more offers you have, the more ways you can help and solve your client’s problems over an extended period of time. Success leaves clues. Tired of building your business alone?
