Listeners of Just What You Needed that love the show mention:We've made it! The final episode of this podclass series, where we need to dive into a very adult-y, uncomfortable truth in terms of our innate lovability. Because YES, we're all so super cute and special and wonderful and lovable…and YES, we are also totally wounded, pain-in-the-ass humans who sometimes show up in ways that make us hard to choose, or hard to be around. Accepting this paradox, admitting our own imperfection, while also investing and embodying our innate lovability? That is the sweet spot, my lovelies! Thank you for joining me on this delicious podclass ride, and if you want to learn more about my upcoming program – Grown Woman, Great Love – then make sure to get on the waitlist. The link is below! And we're off to the races! Unpacking and fleshing out another questionable piece of common dating advice. Way back in Season 1 of the pod I recorded an episode about “The Possibility and Power in Saying NO”, where I discussed the importance of knowing what you want, and being a clear “no” to anything that is not that. Yes! Important! Very true! And…here we are now, five years later, five years wiser, and I need to adjust some of that advice. Because where Great Love is concerned, sometimes we will be asked to assess, question, and evaluate where a “no” is coming from, and what that “no” is really in service to. Get ready for all multi-layered nuances and disclaimers of this one, and ENJOY! Episode one of this series is all about deepening into what's driving our standards in the quest for Great Love. A fire was lit under my booty on this topic when I bumped into a little post on Instagram reinforcing the popular idea that if you are a conscious, growth-focused person, then you should clearly be with a conscious, growth-focused person. And on the one hand, yeah! Totally! Why not? And on the other hand…welp – we gotta unpack this one and get into the deeper layers of what's at play here. Because depending on the energy that your standards are rooted in…you could be in for a bumpy ride. Let's get into it! I'm offering something extra special this week, and I know you're going to love it (and potentially be DEEPLY CHALLENGED by it – consider yourself warned!). This is a 4-part “PODCLASS” packed full of Dating & Relating Advice for Grown-Ass Women. Because I'm sick of seeing the overly-simplified, tired tips, tricks, and rule-based guidance that's being offered by so many “relationship experts” out there. This episode serves as an introduction to the upcoming podclass, and to invite you to enter the waters of nuanced mystery and depth that accompany any Great Love journey. CLAIMED is coming up this Saturday, so let's talk about getting ourselves outta the way of deep, lasting, love and partnership! I want to share my journey of shifting away from high intensity, toxic, trauma-bonded connections…and learning how to be attracted to healthy, sustainable, compatible partnerships. It's been a whooole thing, and I know so many women feel very frustrated with continuously attracting more of what they don't want. So how can we start opening ourselves up to better connections and more fulfilling relationships? How do we rewire ourselves for healthy (but also hot) attraction? LISTEN IN AND FIND OUT! And check out CLAIMED on March 18th. See the link below to learn more and register. Registration for CLAIMED is wide open, so we're gonna talk about it! To start, here's a powerful question for you: What is your relationship like to LOVE itself? Do you know how to listen to Love? Respond from (and as) Love? Can you feel and sense how Love is guiding you, in your life, in your relationships, day-to-day? In today's episode, I'm talking about becoming a student of Love, surrendering to Love, and what that has looked like for me over the years. I wanted to tell some spicy stories of times when Love has swooped in and saved my butt (and made me here lil b*tch), stopping me from making the same mistakes over and over again. Oh boy, enjoy! And if this episode resonates with you, come to CLAIMED on March 18th. See the link below to register. First off: I have an exciting announcement of something NEW coming in March. And secondly…let's get into a deep unpacking of the many ways we sweet, tender humans try to turn off our longing for love. Which, if I can be completely honest, is so futile and frustrating. If you are someone who has struggled in relationships, if you have been burned by love (and various versions of “not love”), if you can't seem to turn off your heart and you deeply want to know what love is, in all of its varied, glorious forms, then this is the episode for you. Ladies, we're leaving the swamp! The swamp of dilapidated Feminine flow and resistance to healthy Masculine support! The swamp of staying trapped under a gravity blanket of heavy, dense, energetic depression that prevents you from following your dreams and desires! The swamp of staring at your phone for hours on end when really, your energy wants to be directed towards literally anything else! Today I'm talking about creating supportive Masculine structure that exists in service to your Feminine creational flow. Because the Feminine Swamp gets the better of so many of us…so let's get into it! Another listener-requested episode! I received two awesome inquiries and got to go deep on the following topics: How do you detach from unsupportive people? And what are some specific tips for loving yourself very well? Ohmigahhh – these questions have me practically drooling with enthusiasm to dive in and share some personal stories unpacking my experiences with lack of support, and practicing self-love. Listen up and learn how to stop worrying about the people in your life who just don't “get it”, and how to care for yourself (and live your best, Soul-aligned life!) in the process. Earlier this week I had a conversation on Instagram about the painful phenomenon of not listening to your inner knowing… or not making a change when something feels off/wrong/uncomfortable in your life… and instead… WAITING FOR LEVEL 10 TERRIBLE. Meaning, you wait until you're pretty much forced to make the change because things become just plain intolerable, instead of making the change out of your own sacred volition. Oof! So painful! Why are we like this thought?! Well, in today's episode I offer 4 specific (and perhaps surprising) reasons for why this happens, and what we can do about it. Get into it! What are the top two most essential, non-negotiable ingredients for a rock solid relationship to ourselves? In my personal opinion (and experience…and expertise…) we need equal parts SELF-LOVE and SELF-HONESTY if we truly want to thrive in our lives. If we want to say “yes” to making uncomfortable changes. If we want to learn from our mistakes. If we want to wake up in the morning and feel grateful and excited to be ourselves every day. If we want to grow! All of the above becomes a lot harder if we don't know how to love ourselves adequately, and also don't know how to be honest with ourselves. Listen in to learn more. Oh boy! Get ready for me to rant and rave and go in-depth into why I claimed to be “allergic” to gratitude for many years. Because sure, everyone knows that a gratitude practice is a great idea, but what do you do when it just feels icky and/or fake? And kinda impossible? And also…doesn't work? What then?! If you've struggled with practicing gratitude, and then feel bad because you should be more grateful for how much goodness is in your life, then this is the episode for you. Today is a LISTENER REQUESTED EPISODE! Two lovely listeners wrote in with brilliant questions so I got to go deep, riff, and rant on the art of clean boundary-setting in relationships (and what tends gets in the way), and then share about my experience of working with my body and energetic system after years of exclusively talk-focused therapy and coaching. Welp! Cat's outta the bag. On a friend's podcast recently (as well as in an Instagram story) I shared a bit about what happened in 2019 when I woke up one morning with extreme, excruciating, physical pain…that wouldn't go away. So I wanted to share a bit more about my healing journey right here, in my personal podcast home. I talk about the experience of losing my confidence and sense of self, and feeling truly hopeless, helpless, and deeply afraid. AND the popular personal development meme that served me through that time, and has continuously brought me back into my power. (I'll also share that this one feels vulnerable to hit “publish” on. So I want to offer a preemptive “thank you” for listening, and being a part of this caring online community.) We're dipping (or diving head-first?) back into the dating-and-relationship waters today! I'm getting personal in this episode and talking about some of the deepest, most uncomfortable, confronting work I've done when it comes to healing my relationships to men and the Masculine. I talk about my patterns of idealizing men, placing partners on pedestals, villainizing men, and making them the enemy – I've done it all. And I learned the hard way why trying to date men, when you also kind of hate men, just doesn't work. Listen in if you want to clean up your patterns of attraction to men and the Masculine at large! Why does it feel hard to listen to your own intuition? Why is it that our minds are often yelling loudly, while our bodies only whisper? What happens when we start to move through our lives from a place of embodied wisdom…instead of following the rules of logic and rationale? In this episode I talk about the absurdity of me doing embodiment work, moving through resistance to listening to one's body/deeper knowing, and how to start tuning in from the neck down. This is a great listen if you're curious about embodiment work and what it can look like for you. Enjoy! Today I'm sharing a bit about my experience of being a highly sensitive, deeply feeling human in romantic relationships. Because learning how to own our sensitivities and responsibly move through (and express!) our emotions on our own is one thing…but doing it with another person?! Holy moly, what a ride. If you have ever worried that you are “too much” in relationships, and you want to learn how to heal the parts of you that feel emotionally overwhelming – both with yourself – and others, then this episode is for you. I'm responding to two listener requests today. The first question from Michaela relates to redefining gender roles and stereotypes within marriage, and the second request came in from Joe, who wants to better understand how to start owning and championing our sensitivities in a world that says we shouldn't be that way. Doom-scrolling, Netflix-binging, emotional eating, over-working, going in for that extra glass of wine…we all have unhelpful habits of numbing ourselves, choosing distraction, and trying to cope with uncomfortable feelings and overwhelm. But how do we begin shifting away from those habits (because they can be so compelling), and start to choose things that actually nourish us? That's what this episode is all about! You asked for it! I've been talking about living from intuition quite a bit lately, and those convos have brought up some prickly fears in many of you. Prickly fears about trusting your inner guidance to lead…and therefore…letting go of control?! Gasp! Eek! Because if you're not in control of your life, then how can you possibly get everything you want, and have everything always be okay, and exactly as you prefer? (Hint hint: You can't! Because no one can!) This episode is for anyone who's tired of trying to control their life and manage all outcomes. And anyone who wants to soften into the trust and relief that comes with reclaiming a deeper form of power…the one within themselves. When we're in a space of honest evaluation, and recognizing that some things in our lives just aren't working anymore, and we can feel and hear and smell and taste the call of expansion…HOW DO WE ACTUALLY MAKE IT HAPPEN!? I'm so glad you asked! Because In this episode I offer three essential ingredients to creating lasting change, and letting yourself evolve as the powerful she-human you truly are. Because you are not supposed to stay the same forever, and life will always be calling you forward. So we might as well accept that, and be down for the ride. Listen to the episode to learn how. On today's episode I'm responding to requests from two listeners. If you're sick of hustle culture, and are so over feeling jealous of (and comparing yourself to) other women, then this episode is for you. First we'll dive into letting go of goal-based living, and looking at why achieving goals isn't the ultimate path to fulfillment it's often promised to be. Then we'll shift gears and unpack jealousy and competition among women, and how social media can exacerbate the issue. Thank you to the listeners who requested these spectacular topics. Let's GO! Kicking off season 3 with maybe the longest solo episode I've ever done?! I guess we have a lot to catch up on! In this episode I talk about my experience of taking a three-month sabbatical last summer, and the subsequent awakenings, “aha” moments, and inevitable discomfort that arose behind the scenes. I get real about detoxing from my workaholic tendencies, living from my intuition (but only up to a certain point…), and the death of my “Inner Performer”. This past year has been one of profound growth in my world, and it feels great to be inviting you behind the scenes with me. Links: Let's Connect! Here's something that really grinds my gears: When a person is doing everything they can to create change for themselves, to grow, expand, evolve…and then they are hard on themselves in the process. Or feeling like they shouldn't even need to change, or that it should just be easy. In this episode I ask a very important question to break out of the “hard on yourself” habit, so you can get on your own team in the process of personal transformation. It's time to give credit where it's due (and where it's due is WITHIN YOU)! Links: Let's Connect! Can you be in devotion to a life of miracle? Today's episode is a cosmic conversation between myself and Heather Allison. She is a Divine Feminine Channel who is overflowing with gorgeous wisdom and grace. I was guided to join her “Golden Goddess” program with very little understanding of what she did, and her work has completely transformed my world and the ways I show up in this lifetime. (and very well in future lifetimes!) This episode is truly focused on the divine feminine and trusting your knowing, even when things don't make logical “sense.” It truly was an honor to end Season 2 of “Just What You Needed” on such a high note. We will chat again for Season 3 post-summer sabbatical. Much love, and thanks for listening! This conversation was so personal, so vulnerable, and incredibly empowering. Join me today as I interview Allison Fallon, whose career as an author sparked from being a storyteller of her own life. As someone who grew up in the Evangelical Christian Community and was presented with a “golden path” to wholeness and salvation, Allison discovered along the way that to be true to her authentic self, she had to step away to create a life all her own. We discussed everything from religious trauma, to leaving an abusive marriage, and to all of the sexual shame and double standards that come with being a woman in this environment. Come with us as we honor the journey, emotions, and lessons during today’s episode of “Just What You Needed.” Allison Fallon is an award-winning author, sought-after public speaker, and nationally recognized writing coach. She has coached hundreds of thousands of writers - from NYT Bestselling authors to total beginners to help them finally get their books written and on shelves. Her most recent book The Power of Writing Things Down walks anyone - even those who swear they aren't "real" writers - through a simple daily practice they can use to reduce anxiety, curb depression, improve their confidence and gain clarity in their life. Do you find that you are someone who finds your worthiness from other people “needing” you? You feel as though you need to overdo, overwork, and overperform to morph yourself into being indispensable? Well in today’s episode of “Just What You Needed,” we are going to dive into that exact concept. We’re stepping back from that exhausting chase of safety, security, and belonging and settling into a NEW truth that you are inherently worthy just as you are. Your lovability stems from you simply being, not from doing. The stories and examples in this episode are here to remind you that you are automatically choose-able because of your essence, because of who you are, and just because you exist. Let’s Connect! The Undoing Unfiltered call I hosted last month took a deep dive into Feminine Embodiment and Empowered Sexuality. There are so many stories that we, as feminine identifying beings, have surrounding our sex lives and we only scratched the surface. I received a very interesting question on that call which revolved around a breakup and the fear that the individual wouldn’t be able to find that level of sexual connection again. This thought process is scarcity and I am NOT here for that energy. Everyone has a choice to make. They can either subscribe to the scarcity mindset or they can believe that anything is possible. It’s that simple. Let’s Connect! Learn more about me at www.amyyoungcoaching.com. Follow me on Instagram: @amyyoungco Subscribe to my YouTube channel: Amy Young on YouTube Rate, Review, Subscribe

Personal. Self. Responsibility. Yep, I went there. More times than not, the problem you think you have is not the true problem. The root of the issue is way deeper than you allow yourself to see and if you allowed yourself to see what was going on five levels deeper, then it would mean you’d have to face some really uncomfortable truths about yourself. So instead of taking that radical personal responsibility, we’ve all been taught to look at the surface level and point to that boss, that circumstance, that partner as the problem; as the “why”, when we're looking at the big picture of our unhappiness or stuckness. If we don’t look at the root of the external issue, then we unintentionally give our power to heal ourselves away. If we never look deep within ourselves, then we will have a hard time feeling whole, satisfied, and fulfilled within our experiences. We (as women) learn to define ourselves by who or what we’re in relation to. Example: “I’m a good daughter / partner / mother / worker bee, therefore...I’m okay, safe, and enough.” And as a result, we forget who we really are. Your Soul’s journey is to come back to itself. To dig in and figure out who we’re meant to be in this life. To identify who we were before we absorbed everything the world told us we needed to be. We’re meant to be the leading lady of our own lives! It’s time to shift the narrative and start unlearning some unhelpful beliefs. If you’re ready to get to know yourself as a solo, sovereign, and empowered entity on a verrrry deep level, welcome to the ride. Do you want a richer, more satisfying and more aligned presence in your life, or do you just want more? In the process of epic self-discovery, identifying what lights us up and how we feel called to show up in the world can be both exhilarating and terrifying. It’s exhilarating because the more we practice, the more it feels like we’re coming home. However, sharing ideas and concepts that go against the grain of what is usually considered “acceptable” can be really terrifying. The waiting for judgement, loss in revenue or community can be enough to make someone say “nope, I’m not going to rock the boat”. Dialing it down and dialing in to the absolute essentials of what feels most fulfilling, necessary, life-giving and supportive to our well-being is such a necessary practice. Knowing what you have the capacity and availability for is hugely important for yourself and for those around you. Things wont magically change the moment the clock strikes midnight, but that doesn't mean we are destined for the "same old, same old." When we remain open to the possibilities and opportunities that could come our way we may surprise ourselves with what the universe will afford us. Happy New Year my friends. We believe that following the rules and staying the course is the best way to keep us safe, sane, and provide our greatest desires in life. But when we really dive deep in our feminine self and answer the true calling of our soul we really learn how to trust ourselves to provide all we really want and give us what is really meant for us. At the beginning of September I made an Instagram post that claimed women were users -- GASP! Today, on the podcast I am expanding on this perspective and diving into what happens to women when we source false power. Are you using patriarchal structures as a crutch to false self fulfillment? Exploring a profound question today: What if you’re not wrong? Oftentimes, identifying with Feminine energy will have you feeling like you are a square peg trying to fit herself into a round hole. This is why so many women learn to assimilate to the Patriarchal system (which I clarify in this episode -- what is Patriarchy and what isn’t) that frankly, isn’t energetically aligned to support them. Take a listen to hear my reflections on this, my new body of work, and what you can do to begin the process of learning to trust, connect and get to know your truest self. Sometimes it’s the seemingly random, unexpected connections or circumstances in life that end up being the most influential to you. When you let go of the pressure of telling yourself that you HAVE to make certain things happen, you’ll realize some of the biggest and best stuff in life come from doing the things that “don’t make sense”. I’ve realized time and time again that when I’ve disregarded my knowing and did the things that were supposed to make sense things in my life like my relationships, business, friendships, living situations - got downright messy and confusing. That’s why in this episode, I am encouraging you to reflect on your own journey and where you took the path less traveled (and how this sometimes can be the best route to take). Break-ups are downright awful. The unfortunate reality is that almost all of us will have to navigate some brutal heartbreak at one point in our lives. Today I shared a personal story about a painful break-up and how I really embraced the grieving process (which is critical for healing). It was really feeling the pain instead of masking the feelings of sadness, regret and heartbreak that helped me to see through to the other side. Take a listen for a few big relationship questions answered. Make sure to take in my perspective on why you shouldn’t stay in a relationship just for your comfort, and why you have to speak your truth! WHEN EVERYTHING IS JUST BROKEN-Y. And from my perspective, a lot of the self-help advice out there isn’t even very accurate. The Universe isn’t some vending machine that will just give us whatever we ask for, and it won’t engage with us if we’re only showing up for an egoic return. Today you’ll hear why it’s essential to learn how to live from your core self, your truest desires, on the deepest levels possible. Hint: It’s not as simple as so many Law of Attraction teachers make it out to be! Tune in now for a cosmic reality check. Here’s some big old truth: We all make mistakes, all the time! If we could accept that, how different would life be? The issue is that we all have this illusion or idea of what we “should have” done or who we “should be”. Helloooo, Perfectionism! We’re really hard on ourselves. And being hard on yourself won’t help you in the process of forgiving, it actually hinders you from moving on. In this episode I guide you through a process for getting fascinated with your memories, using specific tips to forgive your past self. Links Embarrassed by Your Past?
