Welcome to THE LAST ULTRACULTURE PODCAST EVER! Because we are totally getting cancelled for this and I don't give a flying f***. Not one! The legendary Alkistis Dimech & Peter Grey of the Scarlet Imprint publishing house join the show to talk about the Israel/Hamas war, the growth of Islamism, the role of Thelema in revitalizing the dying Western project, and the rise of the goddess BABALON as a rallying call to all magical practitioners. This is a doozy of a conversation, and probably my favorite episode of all time. Strap in! Links & Resources:
Alkistis Dimech and Peter Grey of Scarlet Imprint return to the show for an exploration and celebration of Jake Stratton-Kent: In particular his thought, his research and his impact on the western magical world. We discuss: His generosity as a thought leader. His attitude to academia and academics. His role in the return of spirit-centric approaches to the grimoires. His revitalisation of blue grimoires. His understanding and love of the Ancient and Archaic Greek world. "I don't do angels." His championing of practice over theorising. His role as a key participant in the return of the Dead to contemporary western magical practice. I'm very grateful to Peter and Alkistis for sharing their thoughts about their friend and colleague, Jake.

A conversation with two artists on the archetypal Major Arcana card The Magician.Sean Nguyen-Hilton (they/them) is a Virgo Sun, Pisces Moon, + Leo Ascendant. Sean danced “professionally” for about two decades, and worked in higher ed for about four and a half years.* Sean is a tarot reader of 27 years and is currently studying Hellenistic astrology. Sean is a Co-Founder and Team Member of Fly on a Wall, an artist led platform that presents and supports process and performance. Sean invests in care, awareness, sensation, and love, all of which he practices through the lens of queer stamina, movement, and evolution.Hez Stalcup is an experimental dance artist. He works with bodies, words, sound and objects. He makes dances. He is usually in them. He makes other things that maybe get seen. Most people think his work is about being queer or about gender, its only sometimes about either. Often he is dancing about time, failure and personhood with people he thinks are smart and funny and should be looked at. He doesn't make beautiful dances per se, rather he thinks about what makes something outlandish and solitary enough that you want to love it forever.LINKSIf you enjoyed the episode, check out —Meditation on the Fool w— Hez StalcupEpisode w— Alkistis Dimech on The Occulted Body + Dancing with DaimonsEpisode w— Laura ZuspanMore about our guests —Sean's websiteSean's InstagramFly On A Wall websiteemail Hez at hezstalcup@gmail.comStay Connected —Subscribe to the home—body podcast wherever you get your listens.mary grace's websitehome—body websiteThis podcast is produced by Softer Sounds. ✨Support the show

For episode 101 we are joined by by the immensely talented Alkistis Dimech. Alkistis is an artist, dancer-choreographer and writer exploring the occulted dimensions of the carnal body and its subtle anatomy. Her art and praxis is grounded in ankoku butô (dark dance), which she has practised since 2002. With Peter Grey, Alkistis is the co-founder of Scarlet Imprint, the leading independent press which publishes practitioner-oriented works on magic, esotericism and the occult. She has performed in the UK, Europe and the United States, solo and in collaboration with musicians and artists and spoken on her practice and given workshops at conferences and events in the UK, Europe and the United States. In the show Alkistis explains Butô as a form of expression and goes through what it means to her in terms of the unfolding of consciousness in movement. She goes on to discuss the body in as a vehicle for mantic vision and magic. Alkistis also gives her thoughts on the witches dance. In the Plus show we discuss the dangers of digital immersion of the self and how unplugging from digital is liberating and important for ones wellbeing. We also have a free flowing chat about the joys and struggles of having a relationship with one's garden. Naturally this is my fault as I tend to lose the run of myself when anyone mentions their garden in passing. We also go into recovery after the energetic drain one can experience after ritual work. Alkistis Dimech. On this episode I am talking to Alkistis Dimech about her work in dance, magic and publishing. This is a wonderfully deep and encouraging story and illuminates the incredible work that she does. Alkistis Dimech is an artist, dancer-choreographer and writer exploring the occulted dimensions of the carnal body and its subtle anatomy. Her art and praxis is grounded in ankoku butô (dark dance), which she has practised since 2002. Alkistis considers herself as a dancer after Nietzsche, and pursues a vision of the dancing body and its technique as the final place of resistance. With Peter Grey, she is the co-founder of Scarlet Imprint, an independent press which publishes practitioner-oriented works on magic, esotericism and the occult. Alkisitis has performed in the UK, Europe and the United States, solo and in collaboration with musicians and artists, notably Z'EV, Gast Bouschet and Nadine Hilbert, and Anji Cheung – and spoken of her practice and given workshops, at conferences and events in the UK, Europe and the United States. Selected works from 2008 to 2018 are documented in The Brazen Vessel (Scarlet Imprint 2019). She is currently creating Antimony – a work of texts and images on the transfiguration of the body – and secunda creatura, a dance of evocation and exorcism. https://www.alkistisdimech.com/profile https://scarletimprint.com/ To support the podcast and get access to features about guitar playing and song writing visit https://www.patreon.com/vichyland and also news for all the creative music that we do at Bluescamp UK and France visit www.bluescampuk.co.uk For details of the Ikaro music charity visit www.ikaromusic.com Big thanks to Josh Ferrara for the music

Is it possible to create spaces for secrecy, alterity and non-conformity in our surveillance cities through dance and ritual? Can purposely disorienting oneself in familiar places open new doors of perception to reality? The Mystical Body: Jason Bahbak Mohaghegh in Conversation with Alkistis Dimech is the third episode of TM Live's Incantations podcast series. Founder of practitioner run press Scarlet Imprint and dancer of Japanese avant-garde form, Butoh, Alkistis Dimech, is in conversation with Iranian-American professor of philosophy and enchanting storyteller Jason Bahbak Mohaghegh. We discuss Butoh and mystical practices as ways of claiming spaces for spirituality that are being effaced from our cities of surveillance. We also talk about identity politics, the meaning of “living space” and the separation of mind and body. What a conversation we have in store for you this time around. Alkistis Dimech is in the house. She’s the co-founder of Scarlet Imprint, perhaps the finest occult publishing house going today. But Alkistis is so much more than that. She’s a dancer and choreographer and a student of music and theater and the arts. She also kinda-sorta took me to task on Twitter not too long ago, and rightly so, and - well, you’ll hear about that too.
