Episode 204 of Rendering Unconscious Podcast. Carl Abrahamsson presents “Reconnecting with the Anima Mundi” Is there such a thing as a ”world soul”? The concept of an ”anima mundi” has followed us through history in various cultural and regional guises and seems unwilling to disappear. Whereas physiological, mental, cultural and other developments constantly morph based on adaption to our biospheric demands, the concept of a world soul has taken on new descriptive forms but seems to remain essentially the same. Who or what can teach us about these things today? We can of course read and study and wallow through tons of learned regurgitations of other regurgitations, with further footnotes to drastically add to weight of the planet. But it seems obvious that all sources point in the same direction: the absolutely necessary connection between the individual inner and the general, ”cosmic” outer. Join Carl Abrahamsson as he talks about the background of the concept, its future and that of our own existence. Everything and everyone is linked! Thank you. Episode 202 of Rendering Unconscious Podcast. Alkistis Dimech presents "The Occulted Body" from the first Psychoanalysis, Art & the Occult conference, London, 2016. Collected papers from the conference can be found in The Fenris Wolf 9 edited by Vanessa Sinclair & Carl Abrahamsson: https://store.trapart.net/details/00026 More info at: http://psychartcult.org/psychoanalysis-art-the-occult-london-2016/ Dimech is a writer and artist – working principally with dance and the body. Her practice is grounded in butô (dark dance), exploring the occulted dimensions of the body, its subtle anatomy and sexuality as an archaeology of the flesh – drawing from the esoteric and phenomenological traditions – and seeks to unfold a process and techne of bodily spiritual transformation. With Peter Grey, she is the co-founder of Scarlet Imprint: https://scarletimprint.com Selected works from 2008 to 2018 are documented in The Brazen Vessel. https://scarletimprint.com/publications/p/the-brazen-vessel If you enjoy what we're doing, please support the podcast at www.patreon.com/vanessa23carl Join us for the next Psychoanalysis, Art & the Occult event at Morbid Anatomy museum online Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 2PM. https://www.morbidanatomy.org/events-tickets/the-atavistic-network-by-charlotte-rodgers-and-necromancy-working-with-blood-and-adopted-ancestors-in-art-and-magic-by-dr-vanessa-sinclair Rendering Unconscious: Psychoanalytic Perspectives, Politics & Poetry (Trapart 2019): store.trapart.net/details/00000 For more info visit: www.drvanessasinclair.net www.trapart.net www.renderingunconscious.org The song at the end of the episode is The Scarlet Woman (remix) by Vanessa Sinclair and Xambuca from the album Message 23: https://vanessasinclair.bandcamp.com Many thanks to Carl Abrahamsson for the intro and outro music for the podcast. https://www.carlabrahamsson.com Image: Alkistis Dimech on the cover of The Brazen Vessel

He works with people experiencing psychosis and extreme states in his private practice in Oakland, CA and at the Haight-Ashbury Integrated Care Center in San Francisco. His research interests include adapting the Lacanian analytic frame for the treatment of psychosis and extreme states. Founded in 1990, the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis offers a transmission of psychoanalysis through a savoir of the unconscious, built gradually in personal analysis and control analyses. These direct experiences of the unconscious, alongside an immersion in theory through seminars, events, reading groups, and cartels, inform ethical practices of analysis and scholarship. https://www.lacanschool.com Join me Monday, May 30th at ABF Stockholm! Carl Abrahamsson talks to American surrealist Steven Cline about his new book “AMOK!”, collage-making, mail art, playing games with Atlanta's surrealist group, sources of inspiration and much more… On “AMOK!”: In this collection of recent texts, American surrealist artist Steven Cline has opened the floodgates to his inner worlds, demanding that we take a look. When we do, we are irrevocably drawn in further by a force that resembles our very own curiosity. Is this a mirror or a windowpane? Are these mesmerising thoughts and short essays catapulted from an overarching Zeitgeist or from a very talented writer who desires to express himself? Or both? No matter what, once you have begun reading, you are in it for a thrill ride. Steven Cline is a compelling author, weaving surreal and sensual spells until all resistance is futile... You might as well step right in! Nathan T. Dean is a writer, trainee counsellor, practicing witch, artist, mischief-maker, and very angry wannabe activist who hates labelling himself. Originally studying screenplay writing, and moving into a range of occupations and studies ranging from substitute teacher for one-on-one support, Burger King employee, theatre director, event organiser, therapeutic theoriser, it is best to not try and lock him down to any kind of description, and just accept he likes ranting alot, and hopes one day to become the bon vivant he longs to be. Rendering Unconscious welcomes Nina Antonia to the podcast! You can support the podcast at our Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/vanessa23carl Your support is greatly appreciated! Nina Antonia is here to discuss her new book Dancing with Salomé: Courting the Uncanny with Oscar Wilde & Friends. Dancing with Salomé unmasks the occult aspects of Oscar Wilde's celebrated tome The Picture of Dorian Gray, whilst exploring how the unseen manifested not just in the famous author's life but in that of his love interest, Lord Alfred Douglas. Through a series of interlinking essays, Nina Antonia takes us to meet the Decadent demi-monde of the 1890's with whom Wilde and Douglas mingled. Whilst eroticism and mysticism were key themes of the Decadents, there was also a surge of interest in ritual magic, enabled by the flowering of the “Golden Dawn.” Wilde's wife, Constance, was a member, as was W.B. Yeats, alongside Aleister Crowley. All would play a part, directly or indirectly, in the drama of Oscar Wilde's enchanted & accursed life. https://store.trapart.net/details/00178 Follow her at Twitter: https://twitter.com/NinaAntonia13 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/officialninaantonia/ Website: https://ninaantoniaauthor.com This episode also available at YouTube: https://youtu.be/-j_L404Xbos Join us April 24th at Morbid Anatomy online via zoom 2PM NYC / 7PM UK: https://www.morbidanatomy.org/events-tickets/uncanny-aspects-of-oscar-wilde-dancing-with-salome-decadence-amp-the-supernatural-by-nina-antonia-and-activating-wildes-world-view-by-robert-podgurski Visit http://psychartcult.org and https://www.morbidanatomy.org/events for more info.
