Episode Notes S6E9 -- Join us as we sit down with the one and only Rico Anderson. He'll be in the house telling tales from S.W.A.T to Get Gone and beyond. As an award winning actor, a sci fi nerd, the oldest of 11 children on his mothers side (6 biological / 5 adopted) and the 3rd of 4 children on his fathers side, Rico was born in Seaside/Monterey, CA and raised on the south side of Chicago as well as the San Francisco Bay Area. It was in Chicago where Rico's love for the arts began. As a little boy, his 3rd grade class went to a touring performance of The Wiz, starring Stephanie Mills. Even at that early age, Rico sat there mesmerized and amazed at the performances. Memories from that performance stuck in the back of his mind and would not surface until a few years later when his family moved to Berkeley, California. The bug bit again and Rico started performing in several plays and Independent films. Rico also majored in Theatre Arts at San Francisco State University. Eventually, Rico moved to Los Angeles and has been blessed to have many film, television, voice over and theatre credits to his name. In this episode we hope to hear about the nexus of Crowley, Jack Parsons and the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. What links these characters? How may they have used occult practices in an attempt to open interdimensional portals? Why are NASA implicated? Let's find out! From the web.. Jack Parsons was one of the founders of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), which later became part of NASA. He was also a pioneer in the development of liquid-fuel and solid-fuel rockets. Parsons was a devout Thelemite, a new religious movement founded by Aleister Crowley, who was a British mystic and occultist. Parsons joined the Agape Lodge, the Californian branch of Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), and became its leader in 1942. Parsons performed various rituals and experiments based on Crowley's teachings, including the Babalon Working, a series of ceremonies intended to invoke the Thelemic goddess Babalon on Earth. He conducted these rituals with the help of L. Ron Hubbard, who later founded Scientology. Parsons had a turbulent relationship with Hubbard, who had an affair with Parsons' girlfriend Sara Northrup. Hubbard and Northrup also defrauded Parsons of his life savings, which led to Parsons resigning from the O.T.O. and suing Hubbard. Parsons died in 1952 in a mysterious explosion at his home laboratory, which some speculated was caused by sabotage, suicide, or a magical mishap. His death was widely covered by the media, which portrayed him as a mad scientist and a black magician. These are some of the main links between Aleister Crowley, L. We're taking a summer break this week so instead of a regular episode, Sequoyah read Jack Parsons' essay "Freedom is a Two-Edged Sword" which he completed in the year following the famed Babalon working. It remains one of very few completed pieces of writing by Parsons and if you look past some needed edits (due to excessive horniness, mainly) it's absolutely fantastic. However because we are technically on vacation, Sequoyah didn't have his microphones and had to use his phone so please forgive the sound quality (it's not that bad, surprisingly).

Jack Parsons was one of the world's first rocket scientists, inventing an early version of the same fuel that was used to carry humans to the moon without ever having earned a formal degree. Parsons was almost entirely self-taught. Obsessive about rockets, he often took great risks in his experimentation with the explosives that would eventually take his life. Parsons was similarly voracious and impetuous in his study of occultism. He fancied himself a black magician, earned Aleister Crowley's approval and then censure as head of the Ordo Templi Orientis in southern California, and believed he had conjured his second wife through his invocations to the goddess Babalon. He bridged the worlds of science and magick and died suddenly and tragically, leaving the strange spectacle of his life for his admirers and detractors to puzzle through.

Dr. Thomas Horn suggests Hillary (aka Hilarion) was spawned during the Babalon Working sex-magic ritual, which was performed between January and March 1946 in the Mojave Desert by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and rocket scientist/occultist Jack Parsons. According to Horn, Hillary Clinton checks all the boxes for the Whore of Babylon, who will give rise to the Anti-Christ. Interestingly, Hillary Clinton was born in 1947, one year after the Babalon Working ritual was performed. In his book, "The Book of the Antichrist," Parsons claimed that in 1948, a one-year old spirit contacted him calling itself “Hilarion," which is equivalent to the arcane version of "Hillary." The Babalon Working ritual was inspired by famous occultist, Aleister Crowley's novel "Moonchild," which details a magical war between white magicians who seek to save humanity by producing a "moonchild" vs. black magicians who seek the opposite.
