Your hosts tonight are Jeremy Pozderac, Aaron Krieger, Nick Lynch, and me Shawn Herrin, welcome to the show! Die Free CO Prize Pack Winner: Zac H Posse, Monthly Prize Winner: ARDrew wins a Gideon Optic GunCon PUBLIC EVENT - June 28th Location - Cleveland, Ohio at the Twist Drill Building (1242 E 49th St) Industry/Media Events - June 25-28 (Mixed locations around Cleveland area) https://guncon.net/event/guncon-2025/ use code wlsislife for 5 bucks off your ticket. GOALS August 9th and 10th in Knoxville, Tennessee. https://events.goa.org/goals/ - Dear WLS John M - Gentlemen, Who do you recommend to port a barrel and a slide? I don't want to add a Ramjet to my gun because of the extra length (plus i already have one on my G45). I like the idea of the Glock 19c, but its a Gen 3 and no optic cut. What is your opinion on this? Thanks! Hunter D - What closed emitter sight would you guys put on a Springfield prodigy 4.25” ? If this gun continues to pass my testing I'd like to use it in my EDC rotation. I'm open to options and not stuck on any brand. Budget is not a big concern but I'd say under $750 for sure and that should get me a lot of options. Hell I'm even open to open emitter but really want to try a closed emitter for this gun. Thank you in advance for any insight you guys can provide. #aaronisacunt #jeremyisNOTacunt #WLSISLIFE Aiden S - I don't know if I've ever heard y'all directly answer this question. It's been talked about indirectly, but I don't think it's ever been posed to you like thisWhen should a gun owner lose their gun rights—if ever? Should it be only while they're serving a sentence? Does that include everything from jail time to community service, or even while they're still paying off a fine? Or should their rights remain suspended beyond that period? And should it matter whether the offense was violent or non-violent when they're released from prison or done serving their sentence? A-in-your-face S - Last year I picked up a Desert Eagle. I bought it on a whim, because it was an awesome price. And damn, if it isnt hella fun to shoot. I would like to try and pig hunt with it. What optic, red dot, prism, etc. would yall recommend? I plan to the typical barrel rail mount. #NoNotes Jimmy Jimmy - Hey guys, I'm following up on a prior question about an extractor issue on an AR10 (episode 402, timestamp 1440-2122). I appreciate most of your suggestions and have the following results -contact the manufacturer *Unfortunately, this is not an option. I bought the BCG a while back but only recently tested it. Lesson learned. -check extractor spring & o-rings *All are present and appear identical. -check headspace by measuring bolt face to front of bolt & compare original to new. *Identical +/- .002”. Not enough difference to make a difference. -dump some hot wax in there and make a mold of each one to see if they're the same *Good idea, Aaron, but I'll pass. -put some JB Weld in there *Another great idea from Aaron. No, thanks. -test new bolt in old carrier *Same issue. -test old extractor in new bolt & carrier *Works! -compare extractors side by side *The failing extractor hook feels “sharper”. Maybe someday I'll look into modifying the misshapen extractor. Honestly, that's probably not going to happen. Final solution, I ordered a JP Enterprises enhanced extractor and I have full confidence it will work. Thanks for the help! Nick F - so I was in a local gun shop with a buddy last week. I came across thos aow shotgun pistols that hold like 4 rounds. what's your opinion on them? is it something you wouldn't mind under your driver's seat during riot season?

At long last, this week the randomizer wraps up Patreon Request Month 2023 by going all the way back to 2012 to pick Nick F's request for an episode of the OTHER project titled "Once Upon A (something)" that first aired on ABC in which Disney tried to cram every last Disney character onscreen together. Specifically a season one episode that had the bold vision to say, "hey, remember when Disney retold a tale as old as time so absolutely perfectly that it became the first-ever animated feature nominated for Best Picture? We can probably do it better." They failed of course, but along the way they sure did give us an episode chock full of stupid character names, bad CGI backgrounds, annoying maniacal cackling, slutty goth waitresses, sneezing pharmacists, the kidnapping and excessive caning of a drinkware thief, and what the hell, a scene where a human being gets turned into a flower. Join Tony Goldmark, Charley Marlowe, Madeline Maye, Chris Nebergall and Veronika Vexed as they enter Shrek's outhouse and wipe their asses with a torn-out storybook page that begins with ONCE UPON A TIME, season one, episode twelve, "Skin Deep!" It's the first-ever "Nice Games Panel," in which we invite multiple guests on the show to discuss something interesting! Our panelists today include multiple creators who are known for their work on horror games: Schera Wyss, Conner Rush, Henry Hoare, Samuel Guglielmo, and Nick F. We discuss the fundamental nature of horror as a genre (or maybe a theme or an "orientation"), and what devs should consider if they're looking to make horror games that haunt players long after the end credits roll.Photo credit - Andrea Piacquadio, PexelsHorror Games 101Game DesignDreadXP SCP Foundation: Secure, Contain, Protect - collaborative fiction, WikidotSamuel GuglielmoGuestExternal linkon Twitter (or X or whatever)on BlueSky SocialNikk FGuestExternal linkNick F on itch.ioConner RushGuestExternal linkon TikTokSchera WyssGuestExternal linkon CoHostHenry HoareGuestExternal linkwebsiteon itch.ioon Twitter (or X or whatever)
Nick's sobriety date is 6/18/22, a bit over a year sober, after years of attempts, he like I, is a product of keep coming back. Everyone's journey and process is different, the key is to keep trying, keep getting up when you fall - and that's exactly what Nick has done. Nick has always had a place in my heart, I had the honor of sponsoring him for a bit, and bonds are formed that last forever. I'm so happy to see him succeeding, and to see him enjoying the peace of mind that 12 step recovery promises. Listen up, you may just hear something that you can carry into your recovery. If you're not having a blast in your recovery, you ain't doing it right! And Thank you for allowing me to participate in my recovery in this manner today! This chat I am joined by 'Molly' and 'Nick' from 'F Boy Island' and we are going unpack one of the most explosive reality series ever made in this country. 'Molly' joined two other single women tasked with the impossible job of sorting out who was an 'F Boy' and who was a nice guy and over 10 episodes Australia fell in love with 'Nick' who wasn't a prick but picked up the nick name 'Big Dick Nick.' This episode is for the fans of the 'Binge' series and if you are easily offended - you probably have already turned off but if you are sticking around prepare to be more offended. Please check this show out on 'Binge' Australia it isn't for the faint hearted but along with host 'Abbie Chatfield' this show was a breath of fresh air in the dating reality space. I will ask 'Molly' why she picked 'Nick' over 'Vernon' and if those nick names lived up to expectation? 'Nick' will talk about the excruciating pain of watching 'Molly's' unscreened but heard hook up with 'Vernon.' We will hear if there is a season two on the way and what advice they have for producers. Plus we will ALSO get plenty of exclusives from behind the scenes of 'F Boy Island' which you can already watch the whole series of on 'Binge' and 'Foxtel.'
No, I didn't misspell Nic Cage because the movie we watched this week is about Nick Cage! We finally dive into this beautiful, meta, comedy, action film! Is this movie as good as it looks, or did the gimmick wear thin? Is the bloom off the rose for Cage? Does Pedro Pascal deserve the pop he's been having? Did Nic Cage actually stop by to fill us in on some preproduction rumors? Listen now to find out! NAMINSPACE.
Welcome back to another episode of The Viall Files: Ask Nick Edition! We're back to answer your burning questions about the world of dating and relationships! Before getting to our callers, Nick shares a friend's dating story and how moving too quickly (and ignoring the advice of friends) can lead to a relationship ending. And we have our latest Break Up Song of the Week submission from Amanda before jumping into our callers. Our first caller is currently hooking up with her friend's situationship, and thinks he wants to date her despite not wanting to commit to her friend. Do his actions prove that he's ready for commitment? Our next caller was in an open relationship with her husband due to being long distance. However, he's finally moved home and reestablished monogamy. But our caller is missing the days of sleeping with other people, and doesn't know how to tell her husband. Our final caller is wondering if her boyfriend drinks too much. She's addressed the situation before, but he's lied to her about drinking and how much he's drinking since their conversation. Can this issue be resolved, or will it only continue to get worse? “Lying to you wasn't as important as having a drink.” If you are interested in running a book club in your city, send an email to: DTYEHBBookClub@gmail.com Please make sure to subscribe so you don't miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@theviallfiles.com to be a part of our Monday episodes. Hello, Playdate Community! This week, Nick and Don take the week off to dig deep inside themselves emotionally, while Ryan is joined by Discord Leaderboard Hotshot, Nick F! SO MANY NICKS. They discuss protips and techniques for getting highscores on a variety of playdate hit games. SEASON ONE SPOILERS ABOUND. Feel free to chime in on the socials with your own protips! Thanks for listening. Join us here (most other weeks) as we examine all of the Season Pass games, as well as discussing news and indie finds from the Playdate community. NickF's *boopity-boop-boop* Tips and Techniques Notes WHITEWATER WIPEOUT (8:19) - Holding up immediately before leaving the wave lets you jump - You will see him shift closer to the back of the board - Holding left or right allow you to spin faster - Combos are created by landing at least the same amount of spins as the previous jump - However, can be maintained by switching between quads and trips. - It is worth losing the combo to land the jump cleanly - Forcing that extra rotation will either cause you to wipe out, or leave you with too little speed to continue the combo on the next jump anyways - Work to land triple 360s consistently before going for quads or quintuples - Muscle memory can be developed for number of crank rotations - Quints likely best used at the end of a run as waves run out (due to need for extreme lead-up and recovery). SNAK (24:24) - Faster game modes result in faster score buildup (for those with differing attention spans) - The game's framerate may slow down if too many apples are on screen (particularly when climbing up the snake's body) - The game's framerate WILL slow down when the snake's body gets too long - Helpful in faster levels! …But be mindful of adjusting your own (internal/perceived) rhythm of the game! - There is a split second before crashing/dying where the player still has a chance to turn the snake (a la PacMan Championship DX) - Playing with the volume on will help, as the audio will also pause - The jump mechanic has a distance of two rows/columns - The snake can turn when doubling back on itself - The snake does not need to retrace its exact path (can cross lanes) - The apples cannot climb on a section of the snake that has doubled back on itself (discussed in week 10 by Ryan) - Good way to stall them in place and pick them off - The 5-button thumb/circle/A motion is much easier to execute in Mirror HYPER METEOR (42:54) - Sometimes you can “spawn camp” an enemy to be in the white space before it begins to move - Mostly recommended for the larger meteors - Take advantages of invincibility frames after a death to clear an overlapping cluster of enemies - Increasing your combo is the primary method of increasing score - Prioritizing destroying all the meteors on screen will also leave behind a greater number of smaller chunks to maintain combo between enemy spawns - Leveling up is based on the playtime of the run, rather than amount of enemy kills or overall score - Practice hitting enemies head-on/point-first. Gives more control over hitbox, as entire ship is a hitbox - Take advantage of 180/360 degree turns to control momentum - Circle enemies in the direction opposite their rotation to line up their weak spot - Do not chase enemies, let them come to you INVENTORY HERO (01:01:32) - Against the Crowllector, use bombs as soon as possible - Subsequent rounds will require assembling more and more pieces of scrolls (halves, thirds, etc) - The Crowllector will destroy equipped gear almost immediately - Hold a full suit of armor on and - The spinning columns in the matching game stop one past the slot in which A is pressed - Discard all rabbits as soon as they are obtained - There is a slight delay before multiplication - Mushrooms will multiply in your inventory as well, albeit at a slower rate - Eat ones that restore health, discard ones that lose health - Armor typically disintegrates before weapons - Repair scrolls restore all equipped gear - Do not hoard healing potions; they will be forcibly replaced by newly obtained items NECROCRISIS (01:11:57) - Mirror helps to see screen more easily during frantic cranking - The enemy patterns are for the most part fixed (learn locations/spawns) - Take the chance to reload after a screen before the next begins - Enemies don't always aim/shoot in the order which they appear on screen - Place the cursor at a common height so you only need to move left and right - Tweak the sensitivity to your liking (I use 12) - PERSONAL PREFERENCE: using on Mirror gives you a bigger screen and eliminates the issue of screen shake Intro/Outro Music - Made with Boogie Loops on Playdate Contact: Hello Playdate on Discord Hello Playdate on Instagram Hello Playdate on Twitter Playdatepodcast.com Indie Game of the Week Collection on itch.io Helloplaydatepodcast (at) gmail dot com Voice Mail - 1-(724)-BINGOS-1 (1-724-246-4671) Our Previous Podcast, Gaming On Ten For Amusement Only Podcast, Nick's EM Bingo and Pinball Podcast Game and Cast, Ryan's Handheld Gaming Podcast Series Tags: video games, gaming, handheld, handhelds, panic, playdate, play, date, yellow, crank, gameboy, ds, pocket, videogames, nintendo, sega, xbox, playstation, sony, vita, psp, ngage, itch.io, Keita Takahashi, katamari

True Horror Stories MERCH: http://nightmaresociety.threadless.com CAMPFIRE: www.patreon.com/nightmaresociety YOUTUBE: https://bit.ly/3I1iU3L IG: @nightmaresocietyradio ***animal related stuff starts at 31:50 and ends at 32:22 Hello again Nightmare Society and welcome to another episode of true horror stories. I want to congratulate Whitney C, Trinity G, Trinity W. Apparently it was a good week to be a Trinity. There must be a glitch in the matrix. Anyway, if you don't know what I'm talking about, it's probably because you don't follow us anywhere. Make sure to do that, @nightmaresocietyradio I'd like to thank and welcome our newest members of the online campfire: ILoveYouJonahAndMicah, Nick F., Whitney, Latisha A., and Brooklyn K. Thank you all very much for showing your love and support for the podcast, every single pledge helps us work towards making the podcast better. Some of you may have noticed this year I've extended the typical episode length to a minimum of 30 minutes as I've had a lot of requests for longer episodes. I'm also working on compiling strings of episodes together for longer uninterrupted versions that you can find on Youtube or if you're a Patreon member, all of our memberships have access to these compilations via podcast audio feed. Lets also give a big thanks to our contributors: u/ivyaliene, u/bondagesanta, u/29grapes, u/thefacelesswritier, u/sinenox A theme emerged this week accidentally. I search for stories in my files using keywords and I don't always read them fully before putting them all together until I'm actually recording. So there's a little bit of everything in here, stalking, reference to domestic abuse, etc. Those being the last 2 stories. At about minutes there's mention of animal abuse, check the show notes, the minute marks will be listed to where you can skip any details. I promise, next week I will skip the heavy subjects. Remember, Nightmare Society is a weekly podcast, coming out every Thursday. It is available on most pod streamers including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Podbean, PocketCast, Castbox, and more so don't forget to follow or subscribe so you can get episode notifications oh and go follow us on Youtube too, we'd appreciate it. Normally in making a speaker potluck episode I grab files without listening to them, and you get what you get. This time its slightly different, I had a listener submission by a guy named Nick F speaking at the Kern River Valley Alano Club Pot Luck meeting held only 2 days ago. Nick has been sober a year and nine months and for whatever reason I did listen to this and felt compelled to share it with you and I dont question those moments. The result is a partial speaker potluck, I haven't listened to the two 15 min speakers Im adding in so we are calling this one Speaker Potluck 14.5! Topic Tuesday discusses the sentiment of never meeting your heroes! Nick F. has always liked the Mk.IV Toyota Supra, and finds himself in a position to buy one. Adam in Michigan has a great garage but an extremely short commute – his cars aren’t getting driven very much, and he wonders what a better mix of cars would be. Social media questions ask if you should drive with your mouth open or closed while wearing a helmet on track, how do you safely detail an engine bay, and should the next affordable car be a fun sports car or a 4x4? Seasons 1-6 are available on Amazon Prime and Vimeo worldwide. Rate and review us on iTunes, the Everyday Driver show on IMDB and Amazon, and write to us with your Topic Tuesday discussions and podcast debates at everydaydrivertv@gmail.com or everydaydriver.com.
Some of you know Dylan Louis Monroe from his work on what he calls the Deep State Mapping Project, where he’s put his artistry and creativity to work to develop detailed visual artworks that explain the many connections among the “deep state”, the Q Web, as he calls it. But he’s also produced some other similar diagrams along those same lines, two of which we’ll dig into here, the Cult of Baal and the Healing Web. This one does take a bit to really get going, because we cover off on some of Dylan’s personal background up front, but once we get going, we gone. I would recommend pulling open the show notes and following along with the diagrams as we talk about them, if you’re able to. Or, at the least, giving them a visit when you have more time to dissect and digest them, because they really are pieces of Art. The one and only Occult Fan, aka Nathan Lee Miller Foster, is back in the house for a third time. Nathan Lee is a musician, writer at OccultFan.com, and host of the Six of Swords podcast, and we are going to dig deep into a piece of art that was forged by four of the most marvelous magicians of our modern era. Collectively they are known as TOOL, one of the pre-eminent musical forces roaming the realm today. Their latest album, Fear Inoculum, is their first in 13 years. Highly anticipated by both fans and critics alike, and from the sounds of things, was well worth the wait. But this is not a critical review of that album. This is a complete and total thematic deconstruction of what this album is about, song by song, image by image, even tweet by tweet, because this is a band that has become known for their meticulousness. Every riff, every polyrhythm, every lyric, every liner note, every visual set piece associated with their musical catalog is carefully curated and then deeply dissected by their fanbase, for better or for worse, but always in good fun and good faith. Nathan Lee and I did this way back in episode 35 for another album by the band, so we figured, why not do it again and share it with all of you? Because, when we started to dig into this from a thematic standpoint, we found such a rich message laced with both apt cultural commentary and poignant interpersonal insight. It’s both a warning and a prescription, as any piece of good art is, and whether you know the band or not, or whether you’ve heard the music or not, it’s all kind of irrelevant for the purposes of this discussion, unless you want to completely comprehend all of Nathan Lee’s references that stem from his extensive knowledge of the band and their history. Phil Hall is the author of, among other titles, a book called The Weirdest Movie Ever Made: The Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot Film. Phil is a film writer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, New York Daily News and Wired, and he is the host of the podcast “The Online Movie Show with Phil Hall”, which is available on SoundCloud. What Phil has done in this book is look at the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film from a technical filmmaking standpoint and as a cinematic and cultural artifact. He also looks at the men who made the film and the details of their story before, during and after their infamous Bigfoot footage became a meme. We’re not too interested, for the purpose of this discussion, in the “authenticity” of the film. Whether the footage is real or a hoax doesn’t matter. Because this is a piece of art whose impact can be felt beyond belief systems. At the end of the day this is just a film, a movie. And as Phil says, it’s perhaps the weirdest movie ever made.
