The Essential X-Lapsed is back... and it's just about time to finally deep-six Magneto and his Brotherhood! But, you might be asking - how could we possibly go about doing that? Well, wouldja believe that we're going to get a "deus ex characta" to do it for us?! Today we meet the Stranger, in a story that could only be called "The Triumph of Magneto!"? Also: Some great mailbag content... both for the show, and from the actual Letters Page from X-Men #11! Hope to see you there! -- X-Lapsed Voicemail: 623-396-5375 (or, 623-396-JERK) Twitter: @acecomics / Instagram: @90sxmen weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com chrisandreggie.podbean.com chrisisoninfiniteearths.com xlapsed.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com/ facebook.com/groups/90sxmen
Welcome friends, to the milestone 225th Episode of X-Lapsed... or, maybe, considering the subject matter - we dump the [X] from the title, and just call it Lapsed Annihilation, Episode 0?! Maybe then people will give it a listen? Today, we're kicking off our look at the upcoming Last Annihilation story, which will run through Guardians of the Galaxy, S.W.O.R.D., and Cable: Reloaded - Ego the Living Planet has been covered with a candy shell... and is about to pop! What horror lurks below the surface? You're gonna have to listen to find out - or, ya know, read the issue... or look for spoilers. Nah, you probably ought to just listen! Also: Some great (and potentially) thought-provoking Mailbag content! -- X-Lapsed Voicemail: 623-396-5375 (or, 623-396-JERK) Twitter: @acecomics / Instagram: @90sxmen weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com chrisandreggie.podbean.com chrisisoninfiniteearths.com xlapsed.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com/ facebook.com/groups/90sxmen
Wolverine went to Hell... and all he got was this lousy sword. Today we're wrapping up the Muramasa beat in our #EcksofTens SwordQuest - and, in the opinion of your humble host, spending far too many pages doing so! Also: Some great stuff in the Mailbag - including more Maddie Pryor blibbuh-blabbuh! It's X-Lapsed's five-month milestone episode... why do all our milestone issues feature Wolverine??? -- @acecomics / @cosmictmill / weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com chrisandreggie.podbean.com chrisisoninfiniteearths.com xlapsed.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com/ facebook.com/groups/90sxmen

Ontario’s long-term care is overdue for change. So what needs to happen? ALSO: Some non-front-line hospital staff get COVID-19 vaccines ahead of vulnerable populations, raising ethical concerns GUEST: Dr. Vivian Stamatopoulos, long-term care advocate and Professor at Ontario Tech University - How do we get to zero community COVID-19 cases? A fundamental problem is that not all international travelers are following self-quarantine rules, and thus acting as multiple new patient zeroes of infection. The solution is not only to mandate a self-isolation quarantine for at least 14 days when arriving in or returning to a province (followed by negative COVID tests), but also to strictly enforce its implementation. In other words, just as other countries (e.g. Singapore, many Caribbean islands, Hong Kong, etc.) who have reached near zero community cases daily have done, upon arrival, travelers are directly transported to designated facilities (e.g. hotels) where they undergo self-isolation for 14 days, which is enforced (e.g. digital monitoring) with clear penalties for non-compliance (e.g. severe fines or jail time). GUEST: Dr. Hsien Seow is associate professor at McMaster University and Canada Research Chair in Palliative Care and Health System Innovation - Modelling preview: what indicators are best in showing us if we are doing wrong and right in fighting COVID-19? State of emergency, reduced retail hours and masks outdoors are under consideration by Ontario cabinet. ALSO: new COVID-19 modelling to show ICUs full by early February: sources. When Kid Cable Met Deadpool (I think...)! In today's issue and episode, Young Nate has to check in with the current King of Staten Island for some "body work". It's far funnier than I'm making it sound, believe me. Also: Some great listener mail, featuring two takes on the funeral and return of Call Me Kate in Marauders #11! We're officially on the "Path to" X of Swords - Follow along with all the fun with #EcksofTens We've still got a few problems to solve before we hop into crossover mode, however... and one of 'em won't stop telling us to "call her Kate". With today's comic, we will, by hook or by crook, put that problem behind us. How will they do it? Well, maybe they'll finally remember Kitty's entire mutant gimmick? Welcome, friends - to a (mostly) Otherworld-free issue of Excalibur! Oh my... I am so overwhelmed with relief-fueled euphoria, that I'll probably say a lot of nice things about this book! While others might look at this issue as "filler"... it's a little off the beaten Dawn of X path... we have fill-in art... it's kinda silly, I couldn't be happier to just get a minute to catch our collective breaths with some of our favorite characters. It's about time! Also: Some great listener mail, more talk about Episode 50, and a non-paid plug for https://www.hoopladigital.com/ where, if you might just be able to read along with the show for free! X-Lapsed goes back to business as usual, with a look at one of our core Dawn of X books - a rather transitional issue of Marauders. Call Me Kate is still M.I.A., and the Hellfire Tots continue to put their plans in motion. All that, and I talk way too long about my adventures in Rio Verde, Arizona... while thanking the creative team for actually depicting an area of the state I live in as being something other than the setting for a Wile E. Keeping with our coverage of X-Men + Fantastic Four - this time out, Reed and the Gang are Krakoa-bound looking for their lost kids. Only problem is, they ain't there! Instead, they're out on an island somewhere with Uncle Doom and (Aunt?) Call Me Kate. It's a knock down drag out affair when the X-Men and Fantastic Four go at it... and one that, despite how much I'm enjoying it, I'm going to poke several holes in.Also: Some parting shots at Fallen Angels, a reminder of a hot-take I made about a potential romance between Cyclops and Polaris - which facilitates a plug for our Weird Comics History - Twilight of the Superheroes coverage, and an endorsement for... UPDATE ON THE CAA DMARES - DRONE OPERATOR RENEWAL SYSTEM - FAILS AND WINS!!! Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well! Thanks so much for ALL your messages over the last few days - about the channel AND, more importantly, about the situation surrounding the CAA Drone Operator Registration Renewal Portal. Looks like it's a 50 / 50 split... Some people are getting it done just fine and KEEPING their Operator ID's, with their registration date being preserved... And the rest of us... Well, we're still battling with no payment options, no renewal options and being given new Operator ID's and losing a few weeks of registration 'time' because the process hasn't worked as intended... FRUSTRATING isn't the word. The CAA have been asking people to give them another week to get it sorted, so we'll do that, check again and keep you all up to date. ALSO: Some interesting NEWS about the changes to the Registration Scheme in the next 12 months! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below; how has your experience been? Did you register in the first place? If so, are you going to renew There are more videos and reviews coming all the time so be sure to check back regularly or subscribe to stay up to date! Whatever happened to Wolverine's bottom half? For that matter, whattabout Quentin Quire from the shoulders down? Prepare to find out, my friends... Does launching a book sound stressful to you? You're not alone. Here's the thing: a book launch has a lot of moving parts, but it doesn't have to be INSANE! And it all starts with me telling you to stop wasting time on your book launches. Specifically? On things that DON'T SELL BOOKS. A HUGE CAVEAT ON DEFINING "WHAT WORKS" I need to give a big caveat before I dive into things that people waste time on with their book launches. Why? Because things an vary widely depending on genre. What might work for a nonfiction book doesn't necessarily work well for fiction. Or, even within fiction, what works for me with romance and what works for me with YA aren't always exactly the same. Also? Even within subgenres of romance, what works might be different. Also? Some people might have one experience and another person might have the complete opposite experience. I'm sure I'll get some comments saying, "But that worked really well for me!!" And I'm sure they're right.
