Today's Headlines: Trump secretly escaped Air Force One in a catering truck at the NATO summit in Turkey due to an Iranian assassination threat — leaving the press corps and cabinet members including Marco Rubio sitting inside the plane he'd just abandoned as a decoy. The plane he fled was the Qatari hand-me-down that clearly wasn't secure enough for the president. When asked if he'd declare a national emergency around the November midterms, Trump said "stranger things have happened, I'll leave it at that" and then actually left it at that, which is alarming, to say the least. Meanwhile, the DOJ deployed election monitors to Minnesota's two biggest counties for their primary elections, a federal judge blocked Trump's postal service mail-in voting restrictions, and Todd Blanche is apparently discussing using ICE at polling places, so the election interference infrastructure is coming together nicely. On the corruption beat, the Antwerp World Diamond Center gave Trump a ring the size of a watch with 300 diamonds, dozens of sapphires, two giant T's, and "crafted in Antwerp for Donald John Trump" engraved on it — and weeks later the Trump administration approved a tariff exemption for Belgium's diamond industry, prompting Elizabeth Warren to send a strongly worded letter. Moving on to Immigration, ICE is planning to spend $20 million on electric shock gloves for agents, made by a company called Compliant Technologies, because subtlety is not the vibe. And finally, a new study found that dogs can distinguish between fear, anger, and sadness in human facial expressions with more nuance than previously known, which is genuinely good news and the only story today that doesn't require a drink afterward. Watch on YouTube  Jesse Knight bought a four-axle dump truck the fall after he graduated high school in 1992, because there wasn't enough family farm ground left for a third man. Thirty-five years later, Knight Trucking runs roughly 40 trucks out of Lebo, Kansas, split evenly between end dumps and pneumatics, hauling rock, sand, salt, and food-grade freight across the Midwest. In this episode, Jared Flinn sits down with Jesse and his son Colby for a conversation two decades in the making, Jared first knocked on this door 20 years ago working truck logistics at Bartlett Grain. Jesse walks through the whole climb: leasing to a local rock hauler and sitting four months every winter, merging equipment with his dad and brother to form Knight Trucking in 1996, running the business out of his parents' house with his mom keeping the books, and then landing the I-70 milling and aggregate contracts that forced him to scale from a few trucks to nearly 60 almost overnight, while still driving one himself. He's candid about the parts most operators won't discuss: why he walked away from construction work when the risk stopped matching the reward, why he converted his owner operator fleet into company assets, how he prices freight so the truck actually makes money, what the Peterbilt 386 rollout cost him in repainted hoods, and why chasing kosher certification for his food-grade salt trailers produced about six loads before the business dried up. US media is reporting Donald Trump secretly swapped planes as he left a NATO summit in Turkey last month, to evade a possible Iranian threat. It's believed the US President boarded Air Force One in view of media, before being covertly moved to a military aircraft with the help of a catering truck. The White House has not confirmed the secret switch, but reports claim it came after credible warnings. US correspondent Dan Mitchinson says this move has prompted concerns after journalists and personnel were on board the original plane. After the NATO summit in Ankara, cameras caught Trump boarding the older Air Force One. Minutes later, he and several aides stepped into an elevated catering container on the opposite side of the plane, got lowered to the tarmac, and driven over to a smaller C-32A. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth boarded that same secret flight separately so it looked normal. The press and some White House staff sat on the decoy plane with the window shades ordered closed, thinking the president was with them the whole time. The C-32A landed in Britain nine minutes ahead of the decoy. Trump then reappeared on the older jet before switching to the Qatari-gifted plane for the trip home. Intelligence flagged a specific Iranian plot against him. Israel had tipped the U.S. The White House did not deny the operation. America was told that Iran had been “decimated” and “obliterated,” but the truth of the matter is that when President Trump visited Turkey last month, credible threats from Iran forced the Secret Service to extract the president and smuggle him out hidden inside a catering truck, and flown to safety on an alternate Air Force One. As you let that sink in, ask yourself, what does that tell you? It tells me that we have been lied to about the Iran War from start to finish. How do you reconcile the endless boasting and bragging from the Department of War on how America “decimated” Iran with the mental picture of Trump and Hegseth hiding in a catering truck because Iran made some threats? The photo at the top of this article shows you the actual container that Trump and Hegseth were hidden in. This is beyond shameful and unacceptable, and as American patriots, we cannot, and must not, abide this deception any longer.
