As investigations continue into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, British historian and biographer Andrew Lownie updates his groundbreaking book on the former Duke and Duchess of York.
Andrew Lownie returns to the Daily Beast Podcast to discuss the explosive new paperback edition of his hit book Entitled, revealing how fresh disclosures, newly surfaced Epstein-related material, and a widening police investigation have intensified scrutiny of ex-Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, and the wider royal family. Lownie argues that what began as a story about one disgraced royal has evolved into a far larger reckoning over privilege, secrecy, and accountability at the heart of the monarchy, while detailing allegations of financial dealings, palace protection, and behind-the-scenes efforts to contain the fallout. He also explains why King Charles may have mishandled the crisis, why Prince William reportedly wants a much tougher approach, what life looks like now for Andrew and Fergie, and why he believes the biggest revelations may still be ahead as more sources come forward and his next book begins to take shape. Andrew's investigation expands again — now including a Royal Ascot allegation — as new documents raise questions about the late Queen's role, Andrew Lownie's paperback lands with fresh claims, and the Peter Phillips wedding guest list loses Beatrice and Eugenie, while Taylor Swift declines to interact with them at a party. Reconciliation reports continue as Harry and Meghan reportedly have a significant row over a Balmoral summer visit. Meghan's YouGov approval hits a historic low of nineteen percent. On the Saturday May 30, 2026 edition of the Richard Crouse Show we meet Andrew Lownie, renowned royal biographer and literary agent. A Cambridge history graduate and President of the Union, Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and founder of the Andrew Lownie Literary Agency, he's known for his meticulously researched biographies that have reshaped our understanding of key 20th-century figures. His previous works include the acclaimed Stalin's Englishman on Guy Burgess, The Mountbattens, and Traitor King on Edward VIII. His latest book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, is already being called one of the most explosive royal biographies in years. Today we're talking about his latest book, “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” a book The Times called, “A catalyst for Andrew's de-princing.” It is first joint biography of the Duke and Duchess of York, that's Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and the first full biography of either of them. Chronicling their lives in parallel, the picture that emerges is of a spoilt prince unable to connect and a duchess pushed by her insecurities into a desperate need to maintain the attention her ‘royal' status brought. Rigorously researched and packed full of revelations, this is a royal biography Camilla Long, writing in the Sunday Times called, “a case for revolution.” Then, we meet Niagara-based wine, food, and travel expert Magdalena Kaiser. Daughter of the late Karl Kaiser (co-founder of Inniskillin Wines), she grew up immersed in Ontario's wine scene—starting with tours and tastings as a teen and even helping bottle wine at age five. She serves as Director of Public Relations for Wine Country Ontario (formerly Ontario VQA), where she has spent the past 15+ years elevating the region's international profile through media, trade, and export initiatives. Today we talk about her new book “Niagara Wine + Food: Signature Recipes from Ontario's Iconic Terroir—A Cookbook” which highlights the region's terroir, varietals, and unique features, and profiles 44 of the region's best and most promising producers alongside 88 delectable wine-pairing recipes featuring iconic wine styles from the region.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson are being portrayed as a scandal-bound royal duo whose relationship long outlived their marriage because it benefited both of them. Royal author Andrew Lownie describes them as the royal family's “Bonnie and Clyde,” arguing that their post-divorce bond was built around mutual loyalty, shared self-interest, financial survival, and the preservation of status. Andrew gave Sarah continued access to royal proximity, prestige, and money-making opportunities, while Sarah remained fiercely loyal to Andrew even as his public image collapsed. Their history includes the 1986 wedding, the 1996 divorce, tabloid scandals, Andrew's reputation as “Air Miles Andy” and “Randy Andy,” Sarah's own controversies, and the unusual fact that they continued living closely together long after their marriage ended. The Epstein fallout has turned that long-running royal arrangement into something far more damaging. Andrew's friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, Virginia Giuffre's allegations, his disastrous Newsnight interview, the loss of his royal duties and titles, and years of public scrutiny have made his name toxic. Sarah has also been pulled back into the scandal because of her own past dealings with Epstein, including accepting money from him after publicly condemning him. The broader point is that Andrew and Sarah's relationship now looks less like eccentric royal loyalty and more like a survival pact between two people trapped inside the same reputational wreckage. What once played as tabloid weirdness has become part of the larger Epstein stain on the House of York.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Former Prince Andrew, Fergie were 'Bonnie and Clyde' of royal scandal: author | Fox News

The persistent rumors of a romantic relationship between Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew have been reignited by the forthcoming book The Rise and Fall of the House of York by royal biographer Andrew Lownie. In the book, Lownie presents testimony from insiders and former friends of the Duke of York who claim Maxwell and Andrew shared more than just a social friendship. According to the book, the two were romantically involved, with some sources describing them as “an item” during the 1990s. Maxwell, Lownie writes, was obsessed with status and saw Andrew as both a romantic target and a royal stepping stone. Their relationship, according to these accounts, was well known among those in their inner circles—casting doubt on the prince's repeated insistence that he barely knew her. These claims put Prince Andrew's public denials under fresh scrutiny and deepen the sense that he was far more involved with the Epstein-Maxwell operation than he's admitted. If Maxwell and Andrew were romantically entangled, it suggests that he wasn't just a royal caught in the wrong company—but a man emotionally and personally tied to Epstein's chief accomplice. This complicates his attempts to distance himself from the scandal, particularly in light of the settlement he paid to Virginia Giuffre. Lownie's revelations don't just challenge the official narrative—they threaten to obliterate it, exposing the possibility that the prince's entanglement with Maxwell was neither incidental nor peripheral, but intimate, calculated, and deeply compromising.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Prince Andrew Had 'Affair' With Ghislaine Maxwell: Book - NewsweekBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

It's the week in review on Palace Intrigue, and the range was extraordinary even by royal standards. Catherine made her first overseas solo working trip since cancer treatment, arriving in Italy for a two-day visit focused on early childhood development — a return Deep Crown called "load-bearing" for the institution. On the same day she left, Meghan relaunched her As Ever brand, updated her Instagram, released Disneyland family photos, and wore what appeared to be her wedding reception gown in a promotional video. Tom Sykes identified a marketing funnel. Deep Crown raised an eyebrow. Andrew Lownie's updated biography linked Sarah Ferguson to Sean Combs; Ferguson denied everything. Andrew was charged at by a balaclava-wearing man near Sandringham, will likely remain in the line of succession another year, and learned of Eugenie's pregnancy via Sarah rather than his daughter. Kris Jenner thanked Meghan for candles. Rod Stewart told the King he'd put "that little ratbag" in his place. A hearing dog dug up the palace lawn to universal approval. And Meghan is reportedly furious about an SNL joke. Harry, meanwhile, is said to be mostly at home with the children. A revised edition of Andrew Lownie's book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York has triggered another wave of controversy surrounding Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, with explosive claims portraying her private life as chaotic, financially reckless, and filled with questionable associations. The allegations, reportedly sourced from former staff and associates, describe Ferguson as constantly struggling with money while simultaneously living extravagantly. Claims in the book include Ferguson allegedly relying on daughter Princess Beatrice's credit card, paying a psychic with cigarettes, expecting luxury products and entertainment for free, and employing staff whose sole job was reportedly to organize the large number of tablets she took. Former aides also described difficulties getting paid, sometimes covering expenses with their own money while Ferguson allegedly maintained an extravagant lifestyle filled with lavish parties, endless luggage, expensive travel habits, and bizarre excesses. The article also focused heavily on Ferguson's alleged relationships with controversial and wealthy men, including claims she maintained ties to disgraced figures and even sought financial help from Jeffrey Epstein during periods of mounting debt. According to the reporting, Ferguson allegedly viewed Epstein as a potential lifeline during her financial troubles, with emails previously released showing her praising him and speaking in highly familiar terms despite his status as a convicted sex offender. The piece argues that Ferguson's financial desperation ultimately became entangled with Prince Andrew's own downfall, particularly when Andrew reportedly sought Epstein's help to settle Ferguson's debts — a chain of events that eventually led to Andrew's infamous public association with Epstein and the collapse of his royal standing. The broader picture painted is one of dysfunction, scandal, excess, and a royal family repeatedly attempting to contain the reputational damage surrounding both Ferguson and Andrew while quietly looking the other way for yearsto contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:‘Tablets, sleazy men': Claims of Fergie's crazy world emerge | news.com.au — Australia's leading news site for latest headlinesBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Recent biographies and investigative accounts reframe Ghislaine Maxwell not merely as Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice, but as a critical gatekeeper who facilitated his entrée into elite circles—including the British royal family. According to author Andrew Lownie's new book Entitled, Maxwell leveraged her longstanding friendship with Prince Andrew (which began during his Oxford-era years) to introduce Epstein into royal social settings. Maxwell reportedly used Andrew as social bait to lure prominent individuals, enhancing Epstein's access to power and influence—passing as much more than a mere sidekick in Epstein's networks. These revelations depict Maxwell as a central enabler whose social maneuvering had profound consequences for the monarchy's reputation. These accounts align with what Prince Andrew himself acknowledged in a 2019 Newsnight interview—that he met Epstein through Maxwell. He confirmed that Epstein and Maxwell attended a shooting weekend at Sandringham in 2000 at his invitation, though he portrayed the weekend as innocuous. Nonetheless, archival emails, photographs, and court filings have illustrated the depth of their association, underscoring how Maxwell's social influence and ties to Andrew played a pivotal role in Epstein's infiltration of high-society networks.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:‘Entitled' Reveals Ghislaine Maxwell's Grip on Prince AndrewBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Andrew Lownie told The Daily Mail that Fergy dated Diddy for years, meeting at a Ghislaine Maxwell party. Many have pointed to the similarity between Jeffrey Epstein and P. Diddy (Sean Combs) as both used their influence to get other influential people in precarious situations including filming them in private encounters. It has been claimed that Diddy was (like Epstein) a blackmail agent. Now, with this latest revelation, it appears Sarah Ferguson may have dated both Diddy and Epstein who she once claimed she wanted to "marry" in leaked emails. Both men also faced the same prosecutor (Maurene Comey), the daughter of former FBI director James Comey. Diddy who is serving his 50 month prison sentence (12 months removed for time served) was not convicted of trafficking, however, all evidence points to this being a mis-judgement considering the lengthy evidence against him. Why is Fergy connected to three men accused of many of the same horrific crimes? Why did Diddy allegedly pick up his girls at Ghislaine Maxwell events? How do all of these people know each other so well if there isn't some sort of combined conspiracy? After the mysterious death of Virginia Guiffre, it is our responsibility to ask these questions and connect the dots. No one is being properly prosecuted for their crimes in the Epstein files which are blatant and involve sickening attacks on young people. When asked why we aren't talking about Epstein anymore, President Trump calls those who are interested in this case "weaklings." Justice must prevail for thousands of young girls. Meanwhile, everyone is talking about the latest "UFO Disclosure" instead which reads like a dump of useless files like the initial Epstein documents. Something smells royally fishy. The stench has been detected wafting from Sandringham all the way to Balmoral. The scandals around Lord Mandelson and former Prince Andrew have showcased that the rich and powerful have been operating beyond the law and that royal sinecures have been used to obscure the provenance of ill-gotten gains. Consider: In America, you make your money. But in Britain, you can use it for access. If the Epstein affair has shown us anything, it's that a royal seal of approval is infinitely valuable. Friendship with a top working Royal takes one from the shady jet set into the global elite establishment. And if you can buy a royal seal of approval - like Epstein did with former Prince Andrew -- you get the keys to some of the most influential people in the world. To discuss Epstein's relationship with Prince Andrew, Ghislaine Maxwell and Sarah Ferguson, Jason is joined this week by Andrew Lownie, author of the Sunday Times number 1 Best Selling book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. The pair look at what made Andrew's personality so easily corruptible, how Andrew's narcissism and megalomania were fueled, the role of Royal Reputation Washing across the globe, and why there could be more nasty revelations about what the royals have been up yet to come. Plus, as they Order the Disorder, they discuss making the royal family more accountable, transparent, and better at serving the British people. In the early 2000s, while serving in an official capacity as the UK's Trade Envoy, Prince Andrew travelled to Thailand for what was publicly described as a diplomatic mission. According to historian Andrew Lownie, the visit included a stay in a five-star Bangkok hotel rather than at the British embassy, and during what was designated “private time” in the official itinerary he is alleged to have had up to 40 sex workers brought to his hotel suite over a four-day span. The allegations further claim that taxpayer funds were used to cover that trip, and that diplomatic and royal staff helped facilitate the hotel booking and stay. If true, this incident raises serious ethical questions about the use of public office for personal indulgence, the accountability of royals on trade missions, and the lack of transparency in the files covering Andrew's envoy years (2001-2011).During the early 2000s, Prince Andrew is reported to have visited Jeffrey Epstein's New Mexico ranch — identified as Zorro Ranch, near Santa Fe — which has become notorious in civil suits and media scrutiny for alleged sex-trafficking and under-age abuse claims. The allegations in court documents and depositions assert that Epstein used the ranch for illicit activity, including recruiting minors for so-called “massages” and transporting guests to the property via private landing strip. Among the names listed in these documents is Prince Andrew, though the papers do not allege direct sexual activity by him at the ranch; rather, the presence of his name in guest logs or mentions in deposition material raises serious reputational concerns.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.
Former British prince Andrew fell further from grace in February with his arrest as part of an investigation into whether he abused power by sharing confidential information with his friend Jeffrey Epstein.Up to then, the scrutiny of Andrew's relationship with the notorious Epstein focussed on allegations of sexual exploitation. But this affair shifted the focus onto Andrew's conduct while working as a trade envoy for Britain. In that time he travelled the world at British taxpayers expense, promoting British business but also making plenty of connections that he would use to his own advantage. So what did Andrew get up to in those years? And how much did his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, and his brother King Charles know about the way he was behaving and the people he was associating with? The answers could determine the future of the Royal Family. In this episode of In the News from February Bernice Harrison talked to Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled, a biography of Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Andrew Lownie has been blunt and deeply critical about his interactions with British authorities regarding Prince Andrew and the Epstein affair, stating that he provided detailed information and evidence to UK law enforcement and relevant officials—and then heard absolutely nothing back. According to Lownie, he turned over material he believed was directly relevant to potential criminal inquiries, including information tied to Epstein's network and Prince Andrew's conduct, only to be met with silence. No follow-up questions. No requests for clarification. No indication the material was even reviewed. For Lownie, this wasn't a case of bureaucracy moving slowly; it was a complete institutional void that strongly suggested a lack of interest in pursuing the matter at all. He has described the experience as profoundly troubling, particularly given the seriousness of the allegations and the public assurances that “no one is above the law.”What makes Lownie's account especially damning is what that silence implies. British authorities have repeatedly claimed that investigations into Epstein-linked figures were constrained by jurisdictional or evidentiary limits, yet Lownie's experience undercuts that narrative. When credible information was voluntarily handed over, the system didn't stall—it disengaged. Lownie has framed this as emblematic of a broader failure, or refusal, to confront the implications of Epstein's ties to the British establishment. In his telling, the lack of response is not neutral; it is an answer in itself. It suggests a culture of institutional risk-aversion when power, prestige, and the monarchy are involved, reinforcing the perception that accountability in the Epstein case stops precisely where it becomes uncomfortable for those at the top.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Former Prince Andrew biographer offered new evidence to National Crime Agency - NewsweekBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.
New claims from royal biographer Andrew Lownie's book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York allege that Prince Andrew had a “network” of aides and friends who helped arrange young women for him. According to the book, the Duke of York frequently relied on palace staff and security officers to organize introductions, often specifying his “type” — reportedly favoring blondes and ballet dancers. Lownie claims Andrew would sometimes stay in hotels instead of royal residences while abroad to maintain privacy for these encounters. These allegations suggest a pattern of behavior that extended across his time as a trade envoy and well into his social life as a royal, long before his public fall from grace. The revelations have reignited outrage over Andrew's long association with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, raising new questions about how much palace officials knew and ignored. Though Buckingham Palace has refused to comment, the claims paint a picture of entitlement and impunity—one where royal privilege shielded deeply questionable conduct. Critics note the timing of the release comes as Andrew attempts to stage a quiet re-entry into public life, making the biography's allegations a major setback.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Exclusive | Prince Andrew had network of staff, pals to 'arrange girls' for sex -- and he had a type: biographer

Prince Andrew's ties to Jeffrey Epstein are being framed as one of the most serious crises the British monarchy has faced in modern history, with some arguing the damage rivals—or even exceeds—the fallout from King Edward VIII's abdication. Unlike that earlier scandal, which unfolded in a very different media landscape, Andrew's situation has played out under constant global scrutiny, with graphic allegations, civil litigation, and years of reporting keeping the story alive. The result has been a prolonged reputational bleed for the royal family, not just a one-time shock, with Andrew forced out of public life, stripped of titles, and effectively erased from official duties while the controversy continues to resurface. At the same time, the situation has exposed deeper issues inside the monarchy, particularly how concerns about Andrew were handled long before the scandal exploded publicly. There are claims that warning signs were ignored and that efforts to shield him only made the eventual fallout worse, feeding the perception of an institution more concerned with self-preservation than accountability. The ongoing damage isn't just about Andrew personally—it raises broader questions about leadership, judgment, and whether the monarchy can adapt to modern expectations of transparency, especially as each new revelation drags the story back into the spotlight.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's links to Epstein scandal is more of a crisis for royals than abdication of Edward VIII, biographer Andrew Lownie claims | Daily Mail Online

With police questioning, mysterious deaths connected to the saga, and pressure mounting inside Britain's political establishment, the conversation explores how the scandal could reach all the way to King Charles III and the future of the House of Windsor—and why the story may be far from over. Historian and royal biographer Andrew Lownie has been one of the most outspoken critics of Prince Andrew, portraying him as a deeply entitled figure whose own behavior created the scandal that ultimately engulfed him. In his research and commentary, Lownie has argued that Andrew behaved as though he was above the law and immune from consequences, a mindset he says was shaped by a lifetime of royal privilege. Lownie has described the disgraced royal as a “hypocrite” who repeatedly exercised poor judgment while relying on his status to avoid scrutiny. According to Lownie, this sense of entitlement also helps explain why Andrew maintained his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein long after Epstein's 2008 conviction, a decision that ultimately proved catastrophic for both Andrew's reputation and the monarchy itself.Lownie has also argued that Andrew's association with Epstein was not merely a casual social relationship but one that brought mutual benefits. In Lownie's assessment, Andrew's royal title gave Epstein legitimacy and access to elite political and social circles, while Epstein offered Andrew financial help, connections, and access to women. The biographer has suggested that the two men's friendship was built around overlapping interests in wealth, influence, and personal indulgence, describing it bluntly as a relationship fueled by “money and sex.” Lownie has further criticized the royal family for allegedly shielding Andrew for years, arguing that institutional protection allowed his behavior and poor judgment to continue unchecked until the Epstein scandal forced the issue into public view.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

Joanna Coles looks back at her sit downs with Andrew Lownie to uncover the full scope of Prince Andrew's scandals, from secret deals and Epstein entanglements to whispers of a royal escape. Lownie lays bare a monarchy in crisis, revealing corruption, systemic failures, and a family blindsided by decades of unexamined behavior. This episode traces Andrew's personal downfall as the spine of a much larger story about power, privilege, and protection. With shocking claims of assassination plots and palace cover-ups, nothing about this saga is as simple as it seems. The only certainty: the story is far from over. Hosted on Acast.
