(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Timothy Reed Mexican cartel violence forces families to flee The Mexican state of Guerrero is seeing major drug cartel violence from the group Los Ardillos, forcing families and local citizens to flee. Mexican national forces are almost nowhere to be seen in the region, and according to Marina Velascho, representative of the People's Indigenous Council of Guerrero, “These have been days of terror. They've been bombing communities with drones, and how can one defend themselves from a drone, with bombs falling from the sky.” Elderly Protestant missionary kidnapped by Mexican drug thugs The recent violence in the Mexican state of Guerrero is also affecting Christians. Benito Guevara Arcos, a 79-year-old Protestant missionary, disappeared from the area in recent weeks. An organized criminal group had kidnapped the missionary after taking exception to his preaching. Sadly, disappearances in Mexico have surged over 200 percent in the last decade. Anna Stangl with Christian Solidarity Worldwide said, “We urge the Mexican government, at all levels, to increase efforts to arrest the influence of organized criminal groups in the country, recognizing the specific threat that these groups pose to religious leaders.” In John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Trump lumps in radical transgenders with Islamic terrorists In the United States, the Trump administration is cracking down on transgender ideology and the radical left. Transgenderism is identified as a major threat in the United States' newly released Counterterrorism Strategy for 2026. Far left groups have been placed on a watch list. The document stated, “In addition to cartels and Islamist terror groups, our national count terrorism activities will also prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist.” Marty Makary, who oversaw generic Abortion Kill Pill, out at FDA Dr. Marty Makary is out as commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, reports The Western Journal. He announced his resignation Tuesday, May 12th, amid policy differences with President Donald Trump and prominent Republican senators, reports Politico. Kyle Diamantas, who previously worked as the top food official at the agency, will lead the FDA in an acting capacity. Makary has received backlash for his handling of the Abortion Kill Pill and vaccines. Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, had called for Makary to be ousted. She wrote, “This is a five-alarm crisis for the pro-life movement and for the GOP. The GOP cannot win without its base and simply will not get the enthusiasm that drives turnout without leadership from the top.” Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri tweeted, “This is welcome news. Dr. Makary was uniquely destructive to the pro-life movement. He attempted to place pro-abortion lawyers in key positions. He slow-walked a vitally necessary review of the abortion drug mifepristone. He used his discretion to approve a new abortion drug when the data shows it sends 1 in 10 women to the emergency room. He froze out prolife leaders and repeatedly stonewalled Congress. His resignation is an opportunity for the FDA to reset.” Southwest Airlines paid $1 million to fired pro-life stewardess Life News reports that Southwest Airlines paid nearly one million dollars to a pro-life stewardess last week. Charlene Carter had worked as a flight attendant for over 20 years. In 2017, she sent a message to the Transport Workers Union, protesting its support for abortion. She sued after the union and Southwest Airlines fired her for her pro-life speech. The recent settlement ends a nine-year legal battle. The National Right to Work Foundation represented Carter in the lawsuit. Listen to comments from Mark Mix, the president of National Right to Work Foundation. MIX: “What ended up as a long battle ended up well for Charlene Carter, and hopefully spreads the word to other employees that want to speak up on issues related to their beliefs and their ideas. The union can't thwart that. And that's what this case is all about.” Prices continue to skyrocket The prices of goods and services in the U.S. continued to rise last month. The Labor Department reported inflation was up 3.8 percent in April compared to a year earlier. It's the biggest annual increase since 2023. Meanwhile, wages only grew 3.6 percent from April last year. This means inflation outpaced wage growth for the first time since 2023. Since the Iran war, Americans are seeing higher prices particularly for gasoline, electricity, and food. 50% of 18 to 24-year-old Christians are reading Bible weekly And finally, a new report found young Christians are engaging with the Bible more than older generations. The Patmos Youth Report surveyed nearly 30,000 young respondents around the world. The report found half of Christians aged 18-24 read the Bible on a weekly basis. That level of Bible engagement is higher than older generations. Bible engagement was particularly high in the regions of Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Psalm 144:12 and 15 says, “May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace . . . Nach einer Ausbildung in der Gastronomie zog es sie zunächst in die Welt hinaus. Sie lebte und arbeitete unter anderem in Frankreich und Australien und war als Stewardess auf einer Jacht im Mittelmeer tätig. Diese Erfahrungen prägten ihren Blick auf das Leben. Erst danach kehrte sie in die Schweiz zurück, absolvierte die Hotelfachschule und stieg schliesslich in den Familienbetrieb ein. Seit 2020 führen sie und ihr Bruder Samuel das Unternehmen. Nur wenige Wochen nach der Übernahme wurden sie mit dem Corona-Lockdown konfrontiert. Mit Pragmatismus, Flexibilität und Mut gelang es ihnen, den Betrieb erfolgreich durch diese schwierige Zeit zu führen. Heute steht Nina Klötzli für eine Generation, die Tradition bewahrt und gleichzeitig offen für Neues bleibt. ________________________________________________________ Werner Kugler (69) ehem. Oberförster, und Domänenverwalter Werner Kugler war während 16 Jahren Oberförster und Domänenverwalter der Burgergemeinde Burgdorf und prägte die Entwicklung von Wald, Landwirtschaft und Liegenschaften massgeblich. Nach seinem Studium der Forstwissenschaften an der ETH absolvierte er ein Nachdiplomstudium in Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Sein Weg führte ihn dann nach Madagaskar, wo er 4 Jahre lang mit seiner Familie lebte und arbeitete. Diese Zeit im Ausland schärfte seinen Blick für ökologische Zusammenhänge und den Umgang mit Ressourcen. Zurück in der Schweiz unterrichtete er an der Försterschule in Lyss, bevor er 2005 seine Tätigkeit in Burgdorf aufnahm. Kugler versteht den Wald als dynamisches System, das sich ständig verändert und ein langfristiges Denken erfordert. Themen wie Klimawandel, Biodiversität und nachhaltige Nutzung standen im Zentrum seiner Arbeit. Auch nach seiner Pensionierung bleibt er aktiv: Mit Führungen, Exkursionen und Projekten gibt er sein Wissen weiter und engagiert sich für einen bewussten Umgang mit der Natur. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian archbishop to Trump: “Give us weapons” to “eradicate” Islamic terrorists Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Abuja, Nigeria called on the Trump administration to provide intelligence and weapons to the Nigerian government to help combat the brutal persecution of the country's Christians at the hands of Islamic terrorists, reports LifeSiteNews.com. During a March 20th press briefing hosted by Aid to the Church in Need as, Archbishop Kaigama praised Trump for being the first world leader to “clearly and unequivocally” declare that Nigerian Christians are being persecuted, reports EWTN. The archbishop emphasized, however, that Trump's remarks and his administration's December bombing in Nigeria have only emboldened Islamist terror groups, such as Boko Haram, to carry out more attacks on Christians. He called on the 47th president to share intelligence with and provide weapons to the Nigerian government to help them put an end to the persecution for good. Kaigama said, “I was glad when I heard Donald Trump say, ‘We are going to go to Nigeria; we are going to put an end to Boko Haram. At Christmas, we received a gift — a bomb that fell on Nigerian soil — and, truth be told, I could not say whether it did any good. “That incident, coupled with Donald Trump's words, has greatly inflamed the passions of the Islamists in that territory. The number of attacks, the number of kidnappings carried out by Boko Haram and other groups, has been rising ever since.” Islamic persecution of Christians in Nigeria tied to sharia law Persecution of Christians in Nigeria began to spike after 1999, when 12 northern states adopted Sharia law. The rise of the terrorist group Boko Haram in 2009 marked a dramatic escalation in the attacks. Famously, the group kidnapped hundreds of schoolgirls in 2014; 87 of them are still listed as “missing.” From 2009 to 2022, over 50,000 Christians were killed in the country. A 2024 report found that more than 8,000 Nigerian Christians were killed and thousands more were abducted in 2023 alone, making it the bloodiest year on record for Islamic attacks against Christians in the country. Sportscaster Stephen Smith calls out hypocritical Democrats Stephen A. Smith, the ESPN sportscaster, speaks the truth when he ventures into the political world. This time, he chastised Democrats for hypocritically complaining about President Donald Trump's willingness to do something about the growing Iranian threat. Listen. And then this man deals with them, and then all of a sudden, you complaining about him now. It doesn't really make sense. BUSH: “Our second goal is to prevent regimes that sponsored terror from threatening America or our friends and allies. Iran aggressively pursues these weapons and exports terror while an unelected few repress the Iranian people's hope for freedom.” BARACK OBAMA: “I strongly believe that our national security interest now depends upon preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” JOE BIDEN: “Well, I can say to you, Iran will never get a nuclear weapon on my watch, as they say.” DONALD TRUMP: “As President of the United States, I would never allow the world's number one state sponsor of terror to obtain a nuclear weapon. I said that for a long time, and I didn't.” 3,500 U.S. Troops arrive in Middle East as Iran war strikes intensify More than 3,500 U.S. troops, including the U.S.S. Tripoli with about 2,500 Marines, arrived in the Middle East, officials announced Saturday, as strikes in the Iran war intensified, reports CBS News. It's the most updated of the amphibious warships, known as a "big deck," which allows more room for F-35 Stealth Fighter Jets, Ospreys and other aircraft. The ship had previously been based in Japan when the order to deploy to the Middle East came almost two weeks ago. Corey Lewandowski out at Department of Homeland Security Corey Lewandowski, a special government employee who served as a top adviser to former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, no longer has a role with the DHS, reports NewsNation.com. Last week, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee called for an investigation, saying that almost immediately after entering the agency, Lewandowski “exercised outsized influence over DHS far beyond what a special government employee is authorized to do.” Lewandowski was the campaign manager for President Trump in 2016. Plus, according to the September 2021 report of conservative media outlet American Greatness, he had an extramarital affair with the married South Dakota governor Kristi Noem, for whom he had long been a political advisor. Exodus 20:14 says, “You shall not commit adultery.” War Secretary Pete Hegseth reforms Chaplain Corps War Secretary Pete Hegseth says his latest reforms will allow the Chaplain Corps to fulfill its mission of being the spiritual backbone of America's military, reports The Western Journal. HEGSETH: “In previous administrations, our Chaplain Corps was infected by political correctness and secular humanism. The core functions of the Chaplain Corps were changed and watered down until they were viewed by many as nothing more than therapists. Faith and virtue were traded for self-help and self-care. “The crucible of combat tests more than the body. It tests conviction, character and spirit. The military's Chaplain Corps serves as spiritual and moral backbone of our nation's armed forces. Chaplains help forge spiritual readiness across the force, and that matters because in combat, in crisis, and in loss, a war fighter needs more than a coping mechanism. “They need truth, ‘big T' truth. They need conviction. They need a shepherd. Spiritual health is equally important to a service member's physical and emotional health.” According to a War Department news release, the number of faith codes used in the service has been winnowed down to 31. In 2017, the Pentagon issued a list of 221 groups that qualified as a religious group. Oddly enough, the list included witches and atheists, according to Stars and Stripes. Hegseth said, “It was impractical and unusable, and many codes were never used at all.” He noted that 82% of service members, who identify as being religious, used six of the codes. The War Secretary added that the chaplains will display their religious insignia on their uniforms instead of their ranks. He said, “A chaplain is first and foremost a chaplain, and an officer second. This change is a visual representation of that fact.” Christian stewardess gave her life for passengers on sinking ship And finally, on March 30th, 1899, the steamship Stella, carrying 147 passengers and 43 crew. struck some rocks in a fog while sailing to Guernsey, the second largest island in the Channel Islands in the English Channel. Mary Rogers, a cheerful, kind, and hard-working stewardess, supervised the escape of a large number of women and relinquished her own life vest to the last of them and gave up her place in the lifeboat. Four lifeboats were successfully launched and one capsized. Raising her hands to Heaven, Mary Rogers yelled, “Lord, have me!” as the ship sank beneath her within eight minutes. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” Or, in this case, absolute strangers. Her journey is a remarkable one that spans aviation, Hollywood, and film education. She began her professional career as a Pan Am stewardess from 1972 to 1974, an experience that gave her a global perspective and a deep appreciation for storytelling and human connection.After leaving Pan Am, Cheryl moved to San Franscico where she held various jobs. However, she always thought about either going back into aviation or pursuing her dream of being in the film business inspired in part by her brother, Ashley Boone, a pioneering film executive. Her credits include Forrest Gump, Titanic, The King's Speech, Braveheart, The Artist, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Right Stuff, Once Upon a Time in America, The Wedding Singer, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and Spider-Man 2. She also worked on two Indiana Jones films and five Star Trek films.Behind the scenes, Cheryl broke significant barriers. She became the first African American woman to lead a major studio marketing department at New Line Cinema, and later the first African American to serve as President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she guided the organization through a pivotal period of reflection and change.Today, she continues shaping the future of storytelling as the Founding Director and Professor of Practice at the Sidney Poitier New American Film School at Arizona State University (film.asu.edu). Just before midnight on December 29, 1972, Eastern Air Lines Flight 401, traveling from New York to Miami, crashed into the Florida Everglades, killing nearly two thirds of the passengers on board. Crashing into the swamp softened the landing and likely saved dozens, but the remote location made rescue efforts complicated and required a cooperative effort between first responders and local civilians.The crash came at a difficult time for the airline industry, following closely on a number of several high-profile hijackings and examples of equipment malfunctions that negatively affected ticket sales. This only got worse when the investigation into Flight 401 was concluded and the cause of the crash was determined to be operator error when the flight crew became distracted and unaware that the autopilot had switched itself off.In the months and years that followed, several Eastern Air employees and survivors of Flight 401 began reporting sightings of the ghosts of crew members and passengers who died in the crash.
