Prime Minister Mark Carney has unveiled the government's new auto strategy – which pulls the plug on the EV sales mandate, but includes measures to encourage Canadians to buy EVs and companies to build and sell those cars here.Host Catherine Cullen asks Industry Minister Mélanie Joly why taxpayers should continue to spend money to help automakers. Then, auto industry expert Greig Mordue explains how auto makers may react, and climate scientist Simon Donner weighs in on whether the policy will result in more EVs on Canadian roads. After that, Kathleen Petty, the host of CBC political podcast West of Centre, explains why Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is demanding more say over judicial appointments as concerns grow over Alberta's separatist movement — and its leaders meeting with Trump Republicans in Washington.Plus, hundreds of politicos gathered in Ottawa this week to commemorate the 20th anniversary of former prime minister Stephen Harper forming government. Harper's official portrait artist Phil Richards, as well as Harper biographer John Ibbitson and Toronto Star bureau chief Tonda MacCharles discuss what the painting tells us about Harper, his legacy and whether he might return to public life as separatism brews in his home province, Alberta.Finally, the federal government has said it is gearing up to revive online harms legislation which could include Australia-like age restrictions on social media use. The two discuss the ICE raids and the reasons for the drop in Latino support for President Trump. They unpack the complexities of the immigration debate and address the personal responsibility that immigrants have to get right with the law. They also talk about the pervasiveness of racism toward immigrants, and where Democrats went wrong with Latino voters. Finally, they talk about what the Bible says about welcoming the stranger and whether or not Jesus Christ was really a lawbreaker.

Bessent says White House may ‘veto’ Federal Reserve presidents   Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Wednesday he would push a new requirement that the Federal Reserve’s regional bank presidents live in their districts for at least three years before taking office, a move that could give the White House more power over the independent agency.  Bessent said that “there is a disconnect with the framing of the Federal Reserve” and added that, “unless someone has lived in their district for three years, we’re going to veto them.” Source: msn.com https://twitter.com/KobeissiLetter/status/1995954684859941373?s=20   In a July 2025 interview, Hassett highlighted the Fed’s origins under the gold standard in 1913 to critique current practices: “When the Federal Reserve was created, we were under the Gold Standard—and the idea that the Fed could print money and then spend $2.5B on a building… I think that we’ve got a real problem of oversight and excess spending.”   This aligns with sound money ideals, where gold symbolizes disciplined, non-inflationary currency, but he stops short of calling for reinstatement.  Monetary economist Judy Shelton (author of Good as Gold) praised Hassett in July 2025 for referencing the gold standard, noting it as a reminder that “Fed has a lot to answer for” in deviating from that era’s stability.  Hassett views Bitcoin as “digital gold” for its scarcity and hedge qualities—echoing sound money without physical backing. OUTRAGE: Minneapolis Police Chief Urges Somali Community to Dial 911 on Masked ICE Agents — Promises Cops Will “Intervene” Against Federal Arrests Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara speaks at a press conference alongside city officials as he urges Somali residents to call 911 on masked individuals Police leadership in Minneapolis is urging the city's Somali community, and other immigrant residents, to call 911 if they spot masked individuals detaining people in their neighborhoods. It's a forward operating base for Iran and Hezbollah in the Western Hemisphere. This is why the situation is escalating. This is why Trump's ultimatum matters. This is why Maduro's regime cannot be ignored or “managed.” The threat isn't local — it's global. The plan was simple on paper – use immobilized Russian funds as collateral for loans to keep Ukraine afloat. But Belgium is the custodian of the largest chunk of those assets. If something goes wrong, they're the ones holding the radioactive bag. This isn't some bureaucratic squabble. It's the EU's financing strategy cracking in real time. Prévot's pushback signals the core fear: If Europe touches Russian state money without watertight legal armor, Moscow retaliates – economically, diplomatically, and possibly through countersanctions on European firms. And here's the thing: the Commission thought it had majority backing. Belgium saying “nope” on the morning of rollout is a political body-slam. Happening next? The EU will scramble to rewrite the legal plumbing. Germany and France will pressure Belgium quietly – nobody wants to admit the plan is wobbling. Russia will weaponize the hesitation as proof the West can't agree on how to bankroll Ukraine. And Kyiv? Still waiting for the money that was supposed to be “already there.” Another example of Europe discovering that seizing assets is easy. Using them? That's where the real war begins.    Ursula von der Leyen did not state that she received “permission” from the US to seize Russian assets. In a recent appearance at the GLOBSEC forum, she said that she informed the incoming Trump administration (specifically mentioning a conversation with Treasury Secretary nominee Scott Bessent) about the EU’s proposal to use frozen Russian assets as collateral for a “reparations loan” to Ukraine, and that “it was positively received.” https://twitter.com/briefing_block_/status/1996241939931201801?s=20 https://twitter.com/Dubinsky_pro/status/1996242036417028176?s=20  regime. Now the system is falling apart. Yermak is out. The crackdown is collapsing. Ukraine must release all political prisoners. I call on everyone involved in peace talks to demand this from Zelensky. These people committed no crimes. They were jailed for their faith, political views and demanding peace. Zelensky built a dictatorship – and filled prisons with dissent. I know what I'm talking about: I spent 24 months behind bars under this system. https://twitter.com/MarioNawfal/status/1996231792752287822?s=20  to Brussels to meet Zelensky, the team returned to Washington. No official reason was given, but the message is clear: there's no deal, yet. Putin's warning didn't help. He said Russia is “ready” for war in Europe and claimed any future conflict would be so fierce that “nobody will be left to negotiate with.” This setback casts doubt on whether a negotiated end to the war is possible anytime soon. It also suggests Kyiv isn't ready to engage on Moscow's terms. What's next: Watch for how Ukraine positions itself diplomatically in the coming weeks, and whether Trump's team will try again with a revised proposal. https://twitter.com/MJTruthUltra/status/1996059724173754525?s=20   situation may quickly arise where there is no one left for us to negotiate with” https://twitter.com/Panchenko_X/status/1996192741508645286?s=20  been given the black mark and is seen globally as corrupt. Many Ukrainian politicians are already quietly fleeing to Moscow in an attempt to negotiate. They hope that the Russians and Americans will come and shower everyone with money for the elections. It won’t happen that way. According to my information, the US and Russia are already discussing possible candidates for the position of President. I cannot make the names public. https://twitter.com/TimOnPoint/status/1995949121929138184?s=20   targets is the rule, not the exception. This collaboration brought us together and still holds the promise of lowering insurance premiums.” Paul noted the plan failed because Democrat AGs fought it in court, but it could now pass through Congress. Here’s why this matters: the current system forces individuals to buy insurance alone, giving them zero bargaining power against massive insurance companies. Association Health Plans let people band together through retailers or organizations to negotiate as a group, the same way large corporations do for their employees. More buyers in a pool means more leverage. More leverage means lower premiums. It costs nothing to implement and simply changes labor law. Competition works. Special thanks to Sebastian Gorka and DDCOS Regan for their help on the project. -The work force apprehended 4 of the FBI's 10 most wanted fugitives, and we are hunting down the rest. -We produced unprecedented disclosures, and took action on documents related to January 6, Crossfire Hurricane, Arctic Frost, and more. -The new leadership team, and the work force, made a series of ANTIFA related arrests in multiple states and assisted in record numbers of deportations and apprehensions. -Some of the culture changes we implemented include eliminating DEI, reforming the physical fitness test, making promotions contingent on real world results, severing ties with the SPLC and ADL, and implementing a new training curriculum to reflect current mission requirements. We dedicated significant personnel and financial assets to streamlining FOIA reform to ensure responsiveness. -We shut down multiple open air drug markets nationwide and, in conjunction with the White House, had 12 fentanyl precursors from China listed. -We created CIO and CTO positions to work with the CFO to find efficiencies and implement new technologies to assist in our mission. We conduct bi-weekly meetings and we have found and eliminated tens of millions of dollars in duplicative contracts, unnecessary real estate, and outdated technology. These are real savings to the taxpayer and each budget dollar allocated is intensely scrutinized for value. -We vastly expanded the overseas biometrics program to stop bad actors before they board a plane or vessel to the US. This gives us the ability to expand the border outwards and prevent the problems from coming here. -We are in the end stages of a reform project on our intelligence analysis positions to make them more responsive to current mission needs. We have been working with the field on this and we're happy with the progress. -We implemented a technology working group to ensure our technology tools evolve with the mission. Thank you, and God bless America and all those who defend Her.  https://twitter.com/WhiteHouse/status/1995992366553981026?s=20 (function(w,d,s,i){w.ldAdInit=w.ldAdInit||[];w.ldAdInit.push({slot:13499335648425062,size:[0, 0],id:"ld-7164-1323"});if(!d.getElementById(i)){var j=d.createElement(s),p=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];j.async=true;j.src="//cdn2.customads.co/_js/ajs.js";j.id=i;p.parentNode.insertBefore(j,p);}})(window,document,"script","ld-ajs");

Ansley Hutchinson, Tess Menzies, and Gabe Sanchez from the Boredwalk content team dig further into the most recent revelations from the ongoing saga related to the Epstein Files and the most irritating "will they, won't they" in recent memory. They also discuss: • MAGA's gross contortions in the media to rationalize and even defend the crimes being perpetrated against children by abusers • The seemingly neverending parade of former anti-Trump Republicans who have done a complete 180 since his election in 2016 • ICE's ongoing terrorist actions against U.S. citizens and legal residents We then pivot to a glowing review of our Sinister Affirmations card deck before checking in with the latest dispatch from Troll-sylvania — always good for a derisive chuckle. This episode begins with a narrative of the host on a Christian view of the Second Amendment folding right into part 3 of 3 in Ortega v. Grisham (19 August 2025, 10th Circuit). "[T]he waiting period is just an artificial delay on possession" (p. 20), "a standardless, temporary disarmament measure" (p.21) according to the Republican federal appeals court judges on the 10th Circuit, appointed by Trump and Bush. This is part 3 of a 3-part series following the injunctive relief individuals got on 19 August 2025, when the US 10th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the Democrat Legislature in New Mexico on the 7-day "cooling off period" wait for firearms. And the 3 judge panel split along Republican/Democrat lines , 2 to 1, with both George W. Bush and Trump Republicans on the same side of the Constitution against an Obama judge. When will top Democratic party officials recognize that today's electorate is not made up of moderate centrists?Rather, most Americans are anti-establishment rebels who've been knocked down, kicked out, and told that they don't matter. Indeed, our country's true political spectrum doesn't run right to left, but top to bottom. Right-wing/left-wing is ideology. Top to bottom is life. And most people know that they're no longer in shouting distance of the moneyed elites at the top.This cries out for a “little-d” democratic party that goes right at the billionaires, autocrats, and kleptocrats. Instead, we get Chuck Schumer. This Senate Democratic leader's idea of battling right-wing extremism is to say, “I sent a letter” in protest.Worse, the corporatized hierarchy controlling the once-proud Party of the People reserve their aggressiveness for – guess what? – battling progressive Democratic activists and candidates! Yes, they keep blocking true Democrats who can win, nominating corporate-branded centrists instead – then wondering why voter turnout plummets and an angry electorate reaches for the Trump Hammer.They are trying to do it to us again right now in Maine, where a plain-spoken, working-class progressive is poised to defeat a Trump Republican for a U.S. Senate seat. Graham Platner, a maverick, 41-year-old combat veteran and oyster farmer is drawing huge crowds, enthusiasm, volunteers, money… and grassroots hope. He's a winner – exactly what Democrats need to become relevant again.Yet, rather than embracing the grassroots enthusiasm to win the senate seat, Schumer is raising corporate cash to defeat Planter! The party's leader is its own worst enemy. To learn more, go to: GrahamForSenate.com.Jim Hightower's Lowdown is a reader-supported publication. Chuck Todd unpacks how Putin's latest strikes reveal Trump was played in Alaska and why Labor Day marks a new stage in the political calendar. From looming government shutdowns and Supreme Court battles over tariffs to the total collapse of checks on Trump 2.0, the conversation digs into what—if anything—remains of the pre-Trump Republican Party. With GOP senators capitulating, RFK Jr. emboldened, and even Trump hesitant to cross him, the stakes for public health and American democracy have never been higher. Todd also explores how rumors about Trump's health could spark a political feeding frenzy, why Kennedy should be forced to prove his vaccine claims, and whether any non-MAGA Republicans are willing to buck Trump to save their party.Florida Democratic Congressman Jared Moskowitz joins Chuck Todd with a stark assessment of American politics: bipartisanship is dead, foreign interference has poisoned public discourse, and Democrats face an existential choice between fighting dirty or facing potential party destruction. Moskowitz, who represents Parkland and witnessed multiple system failures during that tragic shooting, argues that Trump's second term has fundamentally changed Democrats who now face primary voters demanding fighters while swing voters want uniters—an impossible contradiction that reflects deeper dysfunction where politicians receive no political reward for solving problems. He warns that increased gerrymandering from both parties will worsen congressional dysfunction while big tech companies have created a discourse environment where TikTok operates as a "psyop weapon" showing endless Gaza content while ignoring Uyghur genocide, demonstrating how public opinion gets manipulated by algorithms designed for engagement rather than truth.The conversation reveals a politician grappling with impossible strategic calculations as Florida officially becomes a red state through Trump-driven demographic shifts and COVID-era political realignment, while Democrats debate whether moderates should fall in line when progressives win or continue prioritizing electability over ideological purity. Moskowitz's insights into Israel's "generational reputational damage" and the effectiveness of Trump's intimidation politics—where physical threats cause Republican senators to cave—illustrate how normal democratic processes have been weaponized into permanent warfare. Looking ahead, he warns that Democratic failure in midterms could destroy the party entirely, while practical governance challenges like FEMA's disaster response capabilities face deliberate sabotage from a White House that realizes competent federal agencies undermine their political narrative, leaving states unable to handle hurricane logistics independently as climate disasters intensify.Finally, he gives his reaction to the first weekend of college football and answers listeners' questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment.Timeline: (Timestamps may vary based on Chuck Todd unpacks how Putin's latest strikes reveal Trump was played in Alaska and why Labor Day marks a new stage in the political calendar. Todd also explores how rumors about Trump's health could spark a political feeding frenzy, why Kennedy should be forced to prove his vaccine claims, and whether any non-MAGA Republicans are willing to buck Trump to save their party.Finally, he gives his reaction to the first weekend of college football and answers listeners' questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment.Timeline: (Timestamps may vary based on advertisements)00:00 Introduction03:00 Putin's latest strikes show Trump was played in Alaska05:00 Labor day marks new stage in the political calendar06:00 Potential for showdown over government shutdown07:00 What is left of the pre-Trump Republican party?08:00 The checks on Trump 1.0 are gone in Trump 2.009:15 Rubio and Bessent are the only two checks left on Trump10:30 Supreme Court showdown looming over tariffs11:30 Trump has no legal authority to impose tariffs12:30 There will be a vote in Congress on tariffs14:00 Pre-Trump GOP would have stopped RFK Jr. 16:30 GOP Senators have all capitulated to Trump18:30 GOP Senators must grow a spine to build a post-Trump party20:00 Kennedy is putting children and seniors at risk of dying21:15 Even Trump seems to be afraid of crossing RFK Jr.22:00 Former CDC directors write joint op-ed sounding alarm on CDC24:00 Trumpworld only have themselves to blame for Trump health rumors25:00 Trump's health could become next “Epstein” frenzy26:15 If Trump limits appearances it will trigger a feeding frenzy27:30 Will non-MAGA Republicans buck Trump to save their seats?30:30 Is there anything left of the Republican party?31:45 People have forgotten the pre-vaccine era33:45 Kennedy should have to prove vaccines DON'T work35:30 Chuck's experience at Miami vs. Note Dame game 40:00 LSU had the best win of the weekend 41:45 Utah had most impressive win nobody is talking about 42:45 Ask Chuck 43:00 Will politicians make changes to college NIL via legislation? 46:00 Can the U.S. learn from other countries for constitutional reform? 51:15 Does Mike Duggan running as an independent give him an advantage? 56:30 Will America actually be able to bring back manufacturing?

Chuck Todd dives into the shifting political and cultural landscape—from Trump's transformation of the information ecosystem and the  “civics lesson” his presidency has provided to the American public.  He weighs in on the administration's use of militarized “law and order” tactics and Trump's constant economic brinkmanship. The conversation ranges from Trump's similarities to Turkey's president Erdogan and his clashes with the Fed.. Chuck also introduces the new “ToddCast Top 5,” spotlighting rising Democratic contenders for 2028—from Gavin Newsom's leadership and Ruben Gallego's surge, to James Talarico's Buttigieg-style buzz and the ongoing question of when Bernie Sanders will pass the torch to AOC. Then, former Republican operative turned Harris campaign strategist Maria Comella joins Chuck to deliver a brutal post-mortem on Democratic failures and to reflect on her unique career path across the political spectrum. From her early days in Republican politics to the inner workings of the Harris campaign, Comella offers candid insights on what it takes to run for office in an era defined by partisanship, shifting voter coalitions, and struggling party identities. She shares stories about Christie's sharp self-awareness, Giuliani's early years, and the challenges Harris faced in balancing her legal background with her political ambitions.Together, Chuck and Maria dive into the pitfalls of Democratic messaging in the Trump era, why Harris couldn't connect with Republican voters, and how Biden and Harris miscalculated their approach to the left. They also explore the rise of outsider candidates like Sanders and Trump, the failure of movements like “No Labels,” and whether a third party—or even a unifying military figure—could ever gain traction. With upcoming races in New Jersey and New York on the horizon, Comella weighs in on the donor class panic over Mamdani, Cuomo's uncertain future, and what it will take for either party to break through with an electorate hungry for reform.Finally, he answers listeners' questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment. Timeline:(Timestamps may vary based on advertisements)00:00 Introduction01:15 Miami vs Notre Dame rivalry04:30 Trump has changed the information ecosystem and expectations05:30 Trump is giving the public a long overdue civics lesson06:30 Turkey & Erdogan are the model for Trump08:15 Trump backs off when the market reacts negatively09:30 Trump's firing of member of Fed board of governors heads to court11:30 If the economy was booming, the Fed wouldn't cut interest rates13:30 Administration will ramp up “law and order” tactics in blue cities14:45 National guard deployment is more about optics than crime15:45 The issue of crime in cities divides the Democratic party17:30 Trump is creating different standards between red and blue states18:45 Politicizing the economy will only go badly19:45 Trump will own the bad economy20:30 Trump inserts himself into the Roger Clemons Hall of Fame debate21:30 Trump sides with people who are caught cheating23:45 Clemons belongs in the Hall of Fame25:45 Will someone drop out of the NYC Mayoral race to stop Mamdani?27:30 The rise of, and reaction to Mamdani is similar to rise of Trump29:15 Howard University president resigns… hire Kamala Harris?31:00 Introducing the “ToddCast Top 5”31:30 Which Democrat has had the best 2025 to position presidential run?32:15 Gavin Newsom has become the leader of the Democratic party33:45 If Newsom loses referendum it will be a huge blow to his prospects34:30 Ruben Gallego has greatly increased his standing35:30 3 archetypes of Democratic presidential candidates37:45 James Talarico buzz reminiscent of Pete Buttigieg in 201740:00 Andy Beshear & Wes Moore have made waves41:30 Bernie Sanders hasn't officially passed the torch to AOC44:00 The Democratic base wants a fighter, the middle wants a uniter46:00 Maria Comella joins the Chuck Toddcast 48:00 Maria's origin story 52:30 Difficulty running for state/local offices after being in unpopular congress 53:30 Experience of working for Rudy Guiliani 57:15 Moving from Republican politics to the Harris campaign 58:15 Do Cuomo, Giuliani and Christie have much in common? 59:15 All three are voracious readers 1:00:15 Chris Christie was the most self-aware of the three 1:01:30 Christie was mad at Chuck over Meet the Press interview 1:04:00 Did you have a seat at the table with the Harris campaign? 1:05:45 Kamala Harris tried to be everything to everyone 1:07:30 Harris seemed like a more natural fit in law than in politics 1:08:15 Harris had ideological identity issues 1:09:45 Why Harris didn't appear on Joe Rogan's podcast 1:10:45 Harris for Republicans vs. Republicans for Harris 1:11:30 Biden & Harris didn't know how to talk to Republican voters 1:13:00 Liz Cheney wasn't effective as a surrogate 1:15:00 Biden & Harris were afraid to go after the left 1:16:15 Harris campaign said she'd be different, but didn't show it 1:17:30 Harris's appearance on The View symbolized her loss 1:19:15 Harris had nearly a difficult, but not impossible task 1:20:30 Harris didn't need to campaign with never Trump Republicans 1:22:00 Harris was too late with her closing argument message 1:23:30 Dukakis's closing message was just an airing of grievances 1:24:45 Harris's closing message didn't meet voters where they were 1:26:00 Democratic messaging has been dumb and lazy in Trump era 1:27:30 Obama was the last candidate the public voted "for" 1:28:45 Rise of Sanders and Trump show how weak the parties are 1:29:15 Is there room for a third party? 1:30:45 Why the "No Labels" party fell flat 1:33:30 Could a less partisan military leader bring the country together? 1:35:15 The system was built to force compromise rather than win/lose 1:37:00 Voters want a reformer/change, Harris didn't offer that 1:39:30 The GOP "establishment" let problems fester and ended up with Trump 1:41:30 Rand Paul & Josh Hawley have stayed true to themselves 1:43:15 Imitating Trump doesn't ever work for GOP candidates 1:45:30 Who on the Democratic side could break through with GOP voters? 1:47:30 The "Stop Mamdani" movement can't coalesce around one candidate 1:49:00 Donor class panicking they can't stop Mamdani 1:50:15 Schumer & Jeffries failed to find good NYC mayor candidate 1:52:30 What will Cuomo do? Congressman Kinzinger recently took part in a forum with several recent Democratic winners of North Texas elections, organized by the Dallas County Democratic Party and held at Northaven United Methodist Church on June 17, and this podcast contains his remarks as well as an interview conducted by Congressman Kinzinger's fellow anti-Trump Republican and military veteran Michael Wood, in which the two explore the history and current nature of the MAGA movement, and strategies on how the rest of America should go about resisting it.Thanks for listening! It's Monday, June 23rd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Christian persecution pervades Christian-majority nations in Africa & Latin America Many Christians across Africa and Latin America continue to suffer for their faith because of Islamic oppression, dictatorial paranoia, and criminal cartel organizations, reports International Christian Concern. Large populations in Cuba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mexico, Mozambique, Nicaragua, and Nigeria are predominantly Christian. Yet, many Christ followers in these nations are often brutally attacked for following Christ, and their governments are failing to protect them.  In Congo, Christians represent 95% of the nation's population, yet they are being slaughtered at alarming rates. Much of the killing is being done by Islamist groups like ISIS-DRC, also known as the Allied Democratic Forces. Likewise, in Mozambique, 62% of the population is composed of Christians, yet Islamic extremists still target them for their faith. According to Open Doors, these extremists have “target[ed] Christian places of worship, abducted religious leaders, and killed numerous believers.”  And in Cuba, the Catholic Church estimates that 60% of the population practices Catholicism. Cuban churches that publicly oppose the government's human rights abuses are targeted by authorities for harassment and intimidation. British House of Commons passes dangerous bill legalizing assisted suicide Members of the British House of Commons voted Friday to pass a dangerous bill to legalize assisted suicide, reports LifeNews.com. In a vote of 314 to 291, Members of Parliament put their stamp of approval on the bill that will likely result in pressuring disabled and elderly people to kill themselves. Isaiah 59:7 says, “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Tim Dieppe, Head of Policy at Christian Concern, was outraged. DIEPPE: “Once you legalize assisted suicide, you will put pressure on vulnerable people. Vulnerable people will feel like they're a burden to others. People will be suggesting assisted suicide. Doctors could suggest it. I mean, that's horrific. You know, my wife died of cancer three years ago. I can't imagine what it would be like if her consultant had suggested suicide.” Labour legislator Diane Abbott said she's concerned that for-profit companies will run assisted dying businesses that take advantage of killing people for money. Members of Parliament had only 10 hours to consider over 130 amendments to the bill, or less than 5 minutes per change. America bombed Iran's nuclear facilities On Saturday, the U.S. military bombed three sites in Iran, directly joining Israel's effort to decapitate the country's nuclear program in a risky gambit to weaken a longtime foe amid Tehran's threat of reprisals that could spark a wider regional conflict, reports the Associated Press. TRUMP: “A short time ago, the US military carried out massive precision strikes on the three key nuclear facilities in the Iranian regime: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Everybody heard those names for years as they built this horribly destructive enterprise. Our objective was the destruction of Iran's nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world's number one state sponsor of terror. “Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier. For 40 years, Iran has been saying, ‘Death to America, Death to Israel.'” The decision to directly involve the U.S. in the war comes after more than a week of strikes by Israel on Iran that aimed to systematically eradicate the country's air defenses and offensive missile capabilities, while damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities. TRUMP: “I want to thank and congratulate [Israeli] Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. We worked as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before, and we've gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel. I want to thank the Israeli military for the wonderful job they've done. And most importantly, I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight and all of the United States military on an operation the likes of which the world has not seen in many, many decades.” (Learn more about the timeline that led up to America's bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities.) Iran threatens to block Strait of Hormuz, blocking 20% of oil shipments In response, Iran is reportedly saying it will block the Strait of Hormuz and stop oil shipments for what amounts to 20% of the world's daily oil flow and up to $1 billion, which will send oil prices soaring globally, reports NewsMax. Needless to say, Iran has no legal authority to block traffic through Hormuz, and blockage would mean direct combat with U.S. naval assets, including the U.S. Fifth Fleet warships patrolling the region. Dear Lord, We pray for peace. Amen. The 30,000-pound bunker bomb that made the difference In a post on TruthSocial, Trump said, “There is not another military in the world that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!” Indeed, America's 30,000-pound bunker buster bomb offered the best chance of destroying heavily fortified sites connected to the Iranian nuclear program buried deep underground. Appearing on ABC News, Retired Lt. General Doug Lute explained. LUTE: “The original purpose of building this bomb was actually concern about the North Korean deeply buried nuclear related sites. So, this didn't originally have anything to do with Iran. But most recently, it's the only bomb in our inventory, or frankly, in the global inventory, that promises some prospect of actually penetrating the mountainside in which the crown jewel of the Iranian nuclear program, the Fordow site, is located. So, this is our best technological advantage in terms of trying to get to that site.” 90% of Trump Republicans say “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon” Appearing on Fox News Channel with Dana Perino, Chris Stirewalt summarized Trump's mindset about Iran. STIREWALT: “I think that Donald Trump has never wavered from the ultimate objective, which is that the Iranian nuclear program has to end. It has to be dismantled. It has to be destroyed. The only question has been whether it's done militarily or whether it's done voluntarily. “He gave them a 60-day deadline. They let the deadline pass, and so Israel began bombing on Day 61 and now he is basically holding out. ‘This is your last chance. The time for negotiation is over. There's not going to be any kind of deal.' “This is a question of whether Iran cries ‘amo,' which is Persian for ‘uncle,' and allows U.S. to come in and blow up Fordow from the inside, or we do it from without, from the skies above, with B2 bombers. But I think there is zero chance that the Fordow nuclear facility survives this encounter.” Stirewalt asserted that the Make America Great Again crowd is supportive of Trump's decision to bomb Iran. STIREWALT: “The idea that there's a schism in the Republican Party, or that the Trump Coalition is breaking up is completely absurd. The Reagan Institute is coming out with a new poll this weekend. 90% of self-described [Make America Great Again] Republicans say Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. 80% say that Israel's security is vital to our security. 64% support Israel bombing the nuclear facilities. There is absolutely no daylight between Donald Trump and the  [Make America Great Again] movement. The MAGA movement is absolutely behind Donald Trump in getting rid of this nuclear program.” On Truth Social, President Trump posted, “I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal.” He concluded, “This is an historic moment for the United States of America, Israel, and the world. Iran must now agree to end this war.” Texas answers  “What is a Woman?” in state law Last Friday, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed into law the “What is a Woman Bill” also known as House Bill 229, reports Texas Values. Now, in Texas, men can no longer pretend to be women. The law accurately defines the terms “man”, “woman”, “boy”, and “girl” by scientific definitions and biological reality. The effect would be that biological  women will have their rights, opportunities, and privacy protected by law. Genesis 1:27 states,  “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” While Texas already has laws protecting women's sports, there have been many other threats to women's prisons, sororities, and private spaces like locker rooms.  Hockey player gives glory to God after winning Stanley Cup The Russian-born goaltender of the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers, Sergei Bobrovsky, gave glory to God upon his victory after his team won the famed Stanley Cup, the championship trophy in the NHL, for the second year in a row, reports LifeSiteNews.com. With thousands of National Guardsmen and Marines descending on Los Angeles because (checks notes) someone set a car on fire, the narrative from the right is predictable in the face of growing public resentment to them: send in the hammers all in riot gear with tear gas canisters, flash bombs and dressed in riot gear and foment chaos to create a spectacle for their base. It's a trope as old (older, actually) than this 51-year old podcaster. It famously backfired in Selma, Alabama when the television brought the scene into living rooms across the country. In 2025, with divided media and a hyper-partisan political landscape, it's still becoming clear Americans actually are re-remembering they didn't care much for Trump's brand of chaos even before COVID-19. Pretty damning Quinnipiac poll numbers bear that out. Back to the familiar "tough talk bravado" from empty suit Republicans: Tuesday it was Trump, himself, warning protestors of his military parade there'd be 'heavy force' used against them. Meanwhile, here in Georgia, both the governor and attorney general are (predictably) using loaded rhetoric - leading with it, even - to lay the foundation for the upcoming 'No Kings' and Juneteenth rallies to be potential powder kegs. It's all they know; it's all conservatives going back to the Civil Rights era have ever known. It's also a sign that they're losing grip on narratives aplenty. Again, those Quinnipiac poll numbers.------Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth - both clearly not white nationalists - got back to re-renaming military bases to undo the removal of names honoring Confederate leaders by finding other U.S. veterans with identical last names, even going so far as to find a last name starts with an "A" and a "P" so "A.P. Hill" could return as a base name. The level of pettiness, mixed with backhanded honoring and slaps-in-the-face to the family of those who'd had bases re-named for them three years ago is ... astounding. ------Lastly, I have a new Instagram crush; an Arkansas poet named Robert Arnold who's calling out ICE raids and the L.A. 'theater' to questioning what became of the proud, hardworking 'southern men' that smalled BS from slick-haired northerner grifters like the Trumps, and I just felt the need to share his wisdom and biting commentary with y'all.

He explained: “I don't think it would have mattered.” 3:30pm- According to New York Magazine's Intelligencer, staffers for Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) are voicing concerns about the state of his mental health. Video of a traffic stop has also been made public which may show Abrego Garcia involved in human trafficking. According to Fox News, the Biden Administration's FBI decided not to investigate—and he was immediately released by police.
