Donald Trump erupted in fury at Representative Jamie Raskin in a long, rambling Truth Social post. Trump called him a “loser” who suffers from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” But the tirade was unintentionally revealing. Trump raged that if Raskin and Democrats win the House, they will “impeach me” and called on Congress to “EXPEL THE BUM” before it's too late. In so doing, Trump revealed that he absolutely does fear impeachment. This gives Democrats a good argument: The last thing Trump wants is a Democratic Congress precisely because it will hold him accountable and put a check on his lawlessness. So what would this actually look like? We talked to Andy Craig, senior editor at The Unpopulist, who thinks creatively on this topic. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Vietnamese Communists arrest four Christians On May 12th, Vietnamese Communist authorities arrested four clergy and lay leaders accused of sharing documentation of human rights abuses online, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. The group was also indicted for associating with Dr Nguyễn Đình Thắng, the president of Boat People SOS, a Vietnamese-American human rights group, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in absentia in April on false terrorism charges for his alleged role in the 2023 Dak Lak uprising.  While two of the four were released, the others remain behind bars. Psalm 23:4 says, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You, [God], are with me; Your rod and staff, they comfort me.” China's Jinping warns Trump about Taiwan On May 14th, Chinese President Xi Jinping warned U.S. President Donald Trump that the two countries could clash over Taiwan if the issue was not handled properly, reports the Associated Press. The exchange at a highly anticipated summit in Beijing underscored just how far apart Trump and Jinping remain on thorny issues, including the war in Iran, trade disputes and Washington's relations with Taiwan, which is self-ruled but which China claims as part of its territory. The pair met for about two hours behind closed doors at the Great Hall of the People after an elaborate welcome ceremony featuring booming cannons, a band playing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and China's national anthem, and hundreds of school children waving flowers and American and Chinese flags. President Trump's opening remarks were optimistic. TRUMP: “President Xi, I want to thank you very much. We've had a fantastic relationship. We've gotten along. When there were difficulties, we worked it out. I would call you, and you would call me, and whenever we had a problem, people don't know, whenever we had a problem, we worked it out very quickly. “I have such respect for China, the job you've done. You're a great leader. I say it to everybody. You're a great leader. Sometimes people don't like me saying it, but I say it anyway, because it's true. I only say the truth. “And I just want to say on behalf of all of the great delegation that we have. We have the greatest businessmen. Every single one of them. We asked the top 30 in the world. Every single one of them said, ‘Yes,' and they look forward to trade and doing business. It's going to be totally reciprocal on our behalf. It's an honor to be with you. “It's an honor to be your friend. The relationship between China and the USA is going to be better than ever before.” Trump's pick for Federal Reserve Chairman confirmed President Trump's pick to lead the Federal Reserve won Senate confirmation on May 13th, just in time to officially take over as the leader of the central bank, reports National Public Radio. Trump is hoping Kevin Warsh can lead the Fed into much lower interest rates — but the president could be frustrated by persistent inflation. Warsh was confirmed on a 54-45 vote, mostly along party lines. Prior to the vote, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a Republican from South Dakota, spoke from the Senate floor and shared an overview of Kevin Warsh's biography and questioned why the Democrats have objected to his nomination. THUNE: “He credits his knowledge of the real economy to growing up in upstate New York, where his dad ran a children's clothing store and manufacturing company. From Shaker High School, he went on to Stanford University and then Harvard Law School. He then started a career on Wall Street, but he shifted to public service, joining the Bush administration's economic policy team in 2002. “Four years later, President Bush nominated him to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. At age 35, Kevin Warsh was unanimously confirmed here in the Senate and became the youngest governor in the history of the Federal Reserve. Being the youngest person to take a seat in the Federal Reserve's boardroom is impressive enough, but Kevin Warsh didn't just take a seat. He was a key player during the time he was on the board. “Kevin Warsh seems to have just the profile of a Federal Reserve Chairman, yet Democrats oppose his nomination. For the first time in its history, the Banking Committee reported out a nominee for Fed chairman on a party line vote because every single Democrat opposed Mr. Warsh's nomination, and actually only one Democrat was even present for the vote. “The other 10 Democrats on the Banking Committee didn't even bother to show up for it. I wish I could say I'm surprised, but this is just how bad Trump Derangement Syndrome has gotten on the other side of the aisle. Democrats won't say so, but that's what it is.” Kevin Warsh has argued there's room to lower rates, but he also promised to use his own judgment in setting monetary policy — and not to take orders from the White House. Warsh denied charges from Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts that he would be Trump's "sock puppet." Warsh will replace Jerome Powell, who has led the Fed since 2018. Although Trump appointed Powell to the job, he has relentlessly criticized the outgoing Fed chairman for not moving more aggressively to lower borrowing costs. Powell's term as chairman ends today. In a break with tradition, Powell will remain on the Fed's governing board for a period of time after stepping down as chairman. That's unusual since Fed chairs typically leave the central bank when their term as the head is done. But Powell is determined to safeguard the institution from political pressure. He has vowed to keep a low profile and not overshadow Warsh. But Powell will continue to have a vote on the 12-member committee that sets interest rates. Missionary John Vassar commissioned as evangelist And finally, on May 15, 1850, John Vassar—often referred to as "Uncle" John—was formally commissioned as an evangelist for the American Tract Society of New York. Following a distinct conversion experience at the age of 28, Vassar left his family's prominent brewing business in Poughkeepsie, New York, to dedicate his life to soul-winning.  As an agent for the American Tract Society, he traveled extensively, selling and distributing Christian literature. Known for his intense earnestness, he was described as a "living fire" who would ask everyone he met about their relationship with Christ. Chuck Todd is terrified for his life. He announced he won't attend any events with Donald Trump anymore. He doesn't feel safe. It's too dangerous. Trump, he insists, will throw everyone else under the bus to protect himself. That's awfully convenient, considering the media is largely responsible for the collective mental health crisis in this country regarding Donald Trump. How do I know? I used to exist inside that insulated Doomsday Cult, and most of the people I know in real life still do. I can see what it's done to them. Ten years of worry, fear, hysteria, and hatred have consumed them.When I talk to my mother, I know she exists in that world defined by hate, as she spends the last few years of what's left of her life as part of this “all of society” effort to bring down the enemy of the Democrats, of Barack Obama. That's all it is. But she has no idea because she takes them at their word, and her perception of reality is limited to the confines of the Doomsday cult. My mother is like I used to be, a committed soldier to believing everything that was pumped into my nervous system from my social media feed, to the headlines at the New York Times, to the opening monologues on Morning Joe, The Daily Show, and MS-Now. Like her, I trusted them. Like her, I couldn't believe they would lie about something so serious. It had to be true, all of it.It's just that it wasn't true, and it was easy to figure it out. All it took was watching Trump's rallies, listening to him talk, getting to know his supporters, seeing things from their point of view, and humanizing them. And yet, even suggesting such a thing, and you watch them flip out. I've always known all it would take is a little bit of courage from the legacy press to help people like my mom, and millions of Americans who believe the lies they pump out every day on behalf of the Democrats. Just a little bit of sanity would go a long way. But instead, they are playing with fire. They are assuming guys like Cole Allen can tell the difference between extreme hyperbole and the truth. Any column about the Left's violence begins and ends with Trump, and all that means is they don't get the message. At best, they “both sides” it, they can't see what they've done to whole generations who actually believe they're growing up in a dictatorship, a regime that disappears people off the streets, wants to turn every woman into a birthing slave, and is shooting protesters just for exercising their First Amendment rights. Who wouldn't want to pick up a gun?At best, the Democrats came out of the potential massacre screaming about gun control, as though they've done anything to protect the students or the schools in 20 years, but all that does is change the channel away from common sense and empathy back to where they want it, right on target.Cole Allen took the press at their word, which is why he couldn't understand how they could have dinner with a “rapist, traitor, and pedophile.” He has a point. After all, why would they if they really meant everything they've been telling us for ten years?Had he been better at breaching security — if he'd had a better weapon that could fire multiple rounds, there is a good chance members of the press could have been mowed down too, along with the very pregnant Karoline Leavitt, who thankfully just welcomed her baby into this world. It feels like a miracle for anyone paying attention. The press didn't seem to get it. None of them even took a pause, except to blame Trump, to say he was nice for a second there, but then turned hostile again at Norah O'Donnell on 60 Minutes. The media focuses intensely on acts of violence by the Right and has for ten years, while ignoring violence from the Left. They do this without even thinking about it, which is why Americans conclude the Right is more violent. The media told them. So why wouldn't it be true?Alex Pretti and Renee Good shouldn't have been shot, but they were attacking federal officers. They aren't the violent ones to the media. It's ICE, the Gestapo. If you aren't aware that there are two sides to every story in America now, what in the world would you think? You wouldn't just be terrified. You would be radicalized. You would think violence is the only answer because everything else has failed.The press, however, should have better discernment. If they could just tell the truth for once, or at least try to correct the record, maybe we wouldn't be here now, where yet another assassin felt he had no other choice but to do the world a favor by killing Hitler. It was the job of the media to push back on the hyperbole and hysteria, but instead they became the delivery device, injecting irrational fear and rage into the veins of this country every second of every day - in airports, gyms, gas stations, and in the living rooms of people who still watch the news, like my mom. Why don't they think of us? Why doesn't just once Joy Behar or Whoopi Goldberg say, “Oh, we don't really mean he's a fascist. We just say that because we want to win elections, but it isn't really true.” They always think of the next round of elections - keep the people afraid, keep them engaged, then we can win. But what has this done to the soul of our nation, and no, they can't keep blaming Donald Trump because look at where that has gotten us. Semi fascists, ultra MAGA, racists, rapists, Nazis. Cole Allen's entire adult life has been shaped by Trump Derangement Syndrome, due almost entirely to the legacy media's partnership with the Democratic Party and their efforts to run a “hearts and minds” campaign on the American people since 2016. Sen. Chris Murphy, the Democrat from Connecticut, is under fire for appearing to cheer on America’s enemy during the middle of a war. It was reported that 26 ships in Iran’s shadow fleet had been able to run the U.S. blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. In response to that news, the senator tweeted one word, “Awesome.” White House spokesperson Olivia Wales told Fox News the congressman’s social media message crossed the line. “It takes an insane level of Trump Derangement Syndrome to cheer for a terrorist regime that chants ‘Death to America,” Wales told the network. “Chris Murphy is an America-last, radical left lunatic who stands for illegal aliens and Iranian terrorists over the American people,” she added. “The only thing ‘awesome’ will be when he is out of office.” First of all, there is no evidence that Iran has a shadow fleet or that they were able to evade the U.S. Navy. And to suggest otherwise is outrageous. “This is what late-stage TDS looks like: Cheering on Iran to defeat the U.S. Navy,” read a statement from the Trump War Room on X. The congressman’s office defended the message and said it was nothing more than sarcasm. It appears that Sen. Murphy is either a moron or he’s a traitor to his country. It's time to start calling out these treasonous Democrats for who and what they really are. Treason is a crime in the United States of America. It’s defined in part as giving "comfort" to the enemy. And that's what Murphy's comments did. At the very least Sen. Murphy should be censured by the U.S. Senate. And he should also be brought up on charges.
