Baxie talks with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Colin Blunstone from The Zombies! Colin talks about the amazing history of the band--including how they broke up just before releasing their biggest hit, "Time of the Season". Colin also talks about the band reformation, their classic 1968 album "Odessey and Oracle, and about his own successful solo work. He also talks very candidly about his long partnership with Rod Argent--who has officially retired from live performances due to his health. Colin, on the other hand, continues to perform (both with The Zombies and as a solo performer). In fact in November he'll be performing his wonderful 1971 debut solo album "One Year" in its entirety. He'll also be performing the Zombies first album 1965's "Begin Here" in its entirety! This is an amazing interview with one of music's most recognizable voices! From our Begin Here series. This morning JT Meyer shares about why the Church is so important - even with its bumps, bruises, and flaws - and how it helps us make some of the most important connections in our lives.
From our Begin Here series. If Jesus is who he says he is and he's done what he says he has done, it changes everything. And we hear that we should share it with other people, but how do we do that? Why do we do that? This week Tom Wadsworth continues our Begin Here series discussing these questions.
From the series Begin Here. On this Pentecost Sunday, we talk about the Holy Spirit and how it is that we experience true change in our lives through walking with him .
From the series Begin Here. It's often in times where we're lost, confused, or just need guidance that we reach out to God. But how does God guide us? How does he speak to us? In this message, we take a look at a snapshot of how some of the earliest Christian experienced God's guidance in their lives.
From the series Begin Here. The Bible. If there was one stumbling block for people when they consider the Christian faith, it usually centers around the Bible. So how should we think about the Bible? What is it? How do we read it? What do I do with all my questions? Join us as Matt explores some of these questions.
From our Begin Here series. Sometimes we wonder if faith and doubt can co-exist. And other times, we can get so comfortable and familiar that our trust in God doesn't feel like faith at all. But what if the invitation is, that no matter where we are in our faith journey, God is always inviting us to deeper faith?
From the Begin Here series. We're all happy to admit that we make mistakes but saying that we've.... sinned. Sin. This is one of the words we tend to avoid at all costs. What does that have to do with why Jesus died? What if at the heart of Jesus dying is his love that can't be fully grasped and that we are... sinners?
From the Begin Here series. Everything has a beginning. Everything has a starting point. Even faith. For Christians, the starting point is always Jesus. But what can we really know about Jesus? Can we trust what the Bible says? What do we do with all the billions of Christians? At the end of the day, we each need to answer the question that Jesus asks, "Who do you say I am?"

When you think of happiness, what comes first in your mind—a yellow smiley face, self-help books, sunshine, and rainbows? The conversation around the field of happiness has been evolving in the past 20 years and events such as The World Happiness Summit have brought leaders in positive psychology and more to share their own research and personal practices to sustaining happiness and well-being. Turns out it’s not about being happy all the time, and these researchers/experts aren’t the happiest people in the world either! So, where and how do you find REAL happiness, the kind that lasts a lifetime? This week, the content relates to love lost and life spent in the throes of opiate addiction. The films Drugstore Cowboy and Withnail & I are themed and much of the music was introduced to me in the UK.There is a little bit of the steganogrammic, though I doubt anyone would see it, thus the "stegano" aspect of steganogrammic. The sense I had in composing this podcast was one of turning around to face the demons that torture one, and of addressing them in turn. Equally, and perhaps more importantly represented is a sense of gratitude and an earnest earnestness about lives led. The clip at the end before the Israelites song is profound and I've found it to be almost perversely apropos in the life I've known. The podcast is chapterized.
