Bryan Kohberger "stood silent" as an Idaho judge asked the accused killer to enter his plea. When Kohberger chose to not answer, the judge entered not-guilty pleas for Kohberger on all counts. The only time Kohberger did answer was to say yes that he understood the charges against him and his potential punishment. Prosecutors have 60 days to say whether they will pursue the death penalty. A trial date is scheduled for October 2. Happy 1 year anniversary to The Chocolate Milk Podcast! Woo! This week we thought we'd bring you a banger of a case! This episode is an accidental non-southern episode. Unfortunately, Geography is not one of Zoey's strongest subjects and it came as a genuine shock when she learned Kansas was not actually in the south. But that is okay! We'll make it work and now Zoey has a list of states on her phone so she doesn't make the same mistake again. For our something Southern (that is also a little spooky) Robin tells us about the UFO Welcome Center in Bowman, SC just one hour from Haunted Hospitality's home base. Robin also reads her favorite review so far. This episode also features a promo from the podcast Shockingly Wicked! Go give them a listen (after you listen to this episode of course). The story of BTK is a gruesome and detailed one, however Zoey does her best to keep it PG-13. Dennis Rader is a terrible man who tortured and killed 10 people between 1974 and 1991. He would write to the newspapers with poems and letters where he would go into detail on how he killed his victims. But when he stopped killing in 1991, everyone assumed that he was either in jail or dead, so the case went cold. But Dennis Rader was caught and jailed in 2004. How was he finally caught? Listen to the episode to find out!Sources: https://hauntedhospitality.wordpress.com/2021/07/06/ep-16-bind-torture-kill-the-story-of-the-dennis-rader-the-btk-killer/
Welcome back everyone to another episode of True crime drunks. If you don't know who we are already. Do better. Just kidding. Hosts Wes McBee and Holly Lee are back. Now We know from our last episode with Ed Kemper the big frightening giant who Holly would....well yeah if you don't remember go watch. But our topic today is more widely known for his abbreviated name than his real name. That is the BTK strangler or bind torture kill. This was a self proclaimed abbreviation that the real serial killer Dennis Rader gave. One of the most infamous serial killers in history. Dennis was convicted of 10 counts of murder in the first degree. Which lead to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for 175 years. #truecrime #BTK #serialkiller Links on where to find and support the cause: Website: Truecrimedrunks.com Email: Truecrimedrunks@gmail.com Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7KbbojxzifTOrFzhXutmxU Twitch: Twitch.tv/truecrimedrunks Instagram: instagram.com/truecrimedrunks/ Anchor: https://anchor.fm/truecrimedrunks --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/truecrimedrunks/support

By the monicker Bind Torture Kill, BTK committed his final, and probably laziest murder in 1991. For 3 decade Dennis Rader terrified the Kansas City region of Kansas preying on women, children, and any man that got in his way. Known mostly by his self-proclaimed acronym, BTK, Dennis Rader used the monicker "Bind Torture Kill, BTK" in his taunts to the police, newspapers, and local communities. Dennis Rader's prolific spree of murder from the 70s to the 90s are nearly unrivaled. Perhaps the Devil incarnate, BTK terrified sleepy small towns near Kansas City while keeping up the guise of a leader in the community. He was a father, scout leader, and strong Christian, or that's how he wanted the world to see him. UNHOLY MESSENGER: THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF THE BTK SERIAL KILLER To all appearances, Dennis Rader was a model citizen, and a seemingly ordinary father and husband. But Rader's average life belied the existence of his dark, sadistic other self: he was the BTK serial killer. For 31 years, BTK as he called himself, which stood for bind, torture, kill terrorized Wichita Kansas, not only with his brutal, sexually motivated murders, but also through his taunting communications with the media and law enforcement.Author Stephen Singular recounts the year prior to Rader's arrest drawing from extensive interviews with Rader's pastor and congregation, detectives, and psychologists who worked the case, and from his unnerving detailed 32 hour confession. UNHOLY MESSENGER delves into the disturbing life and crimes of BTK to explore fully-for the first time-the most dangerous and complex serial killer of our generation and the man who embodied at once, astonishing extremes of normality and abnormality. A chilling story of a man considerd a spirtual leader by his pastor and congregation, but turned out to be the devil next door.
