Ryan McMillan's resume is insane. He was born into a firearms dynasty, has a degree in physics, was a U.S Navy SEAL, and started one of the most elite American-made custom rifle stock companies in existence. McMillan sits down with Black Rifle Coffee Co.'s Evan Hafer to talk about the company his grandfather started in 1973. You may have heard of it: McMillan Fiberglass Stocks. The company and his grandfather, along with the US Marine Corps, created the modern sniper rifle. Ryan talks about what it felt like to use some of the rifles his grandfather and uncle designed on sniper ops while deployed in Afghanistan as a member of SEAL Team 2 in the early 2000s. They also dive into how McMillan finally got his physics degree and continued his family's legacy by building the Grayboe custom rifle stock company with a mission to make mass-produced, affordable stocks with a quality never before available to regular shooters.
Earl D. Plumlee sits down with Evan Hafer of Black Rifle Coffee Co. and describes the events of the fateful day in Afghanistan when 200 well-armed Taliban fighters breached his base's perimeter with a huge explosion before launching a massive and extended attack. On August 28, 2013, MSG Plumlee was serving as a weapons sergeant assigned to Charlie Company, 4th Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group at Forward Operating Base Ghazni. For his actions on that day, Plumlee was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2021. Find out how it went down from the man himself.
Black Rifle Coffee Co. Founder and CEO Evan Hafer is joined by friends Brandon Herrera, Donut Operator, and Heather Lynn, who just got back from a BRCC elk hunt in northern Utah. The GunTubers and BRCC OGs talk #BTS about making Black Rifle content, how to win (and get banned) by YouTube, Dungeons & Dragons, along with horror movies and their favorite comedians. They get into what it's like to go hunting for the first time and why it's always okay to bring along an FN SCAR. You don't want to miss this one.
Retired SEAL and author Ephraim Mattos was shot in the calf while volunteering as a medic with the Iraqi Army as he was transitioning out of the Navy. It was all caught on camera and went viral. He recovered from his wound, and ever since, he's been working constantly to continue a life of service and to help people who need it most in some of the most violent places on the planet. That's why he started Stronghold Rescue & Relief, a non-profit built to give aid to people in literal war zones. Mattos sits down with Black Rifle Coffee Co.'s Evan Hafer to talk about his new mission in life, what it's like to know he'll be heading into heavy combat in Burma in the next couple of months (and whether or not he's armed on these missions), that unique struggles people are facing in that country, the trials and tribulations faced by GWOT veterans of all stripes, and lots more on this week's Black Rifle Coffee Podcast. Guns, range drills, and the backstory of Black Rifle Coffee Company, oh my! In this wide-ranging discussion, the brain trust behind BRCC talks about the company's history, evolution, and what the next five years hold, plus get into the weeds on favorite handguns, sobriety, and success.
Former Green Berets and CIA contractors Evan Hafer and Mike Glover embark on a wild journey through, critical incidents involving law enforcement, what rewilding is and how it changed them, and the whys behind the concealed carry choices these two combat veterans make and how they think about preparedness and defense. The duo breaks down an incident with an Ohio State Trooper and the misuse of police dogs, plus what goes into training animals for combat-related jobs. They also share a raw reflection on society's obsessions with smartphones and social media along with the importance of self-care and unplugging, which leads to a great conversation about rewilding — an experience that allowed Hafer and Glover to reconnect with nature and reset their minds. Plus, there's a deep existential convo about soap and the shape of said soap, and finally an answer to which is better, the SIG P365 XL or the OG P365.
