Voilà plus de vingt ans que la formation underground se produit dans les salles de la région pour proposer sa modeste contribution à la scène death et black metal, ne cherchant d'ailleurs pas à devenir la futur tête d'affiche des festivals… Hysteria se fait simplement plaisir, sans prétention, mais il le fait bien. Si ses débuts sont marqués par un style volontairement brutal, la lignée mélodique qui accompagne le groupe s'est développée et affinée au fur et à mesure. Autre preuve de son évolution, Heretic, Sadistic and Sexual Ecstasy… fait l'effort d'une production nouvelle qui lui donne du cachet et qui risque bien d'attirer les oreilles des amateurs du genre, même bien au-delà de nos frontières. Nous nous sommes rendus au Rock'n'Eat de Lyon à la release party de ce nouvel opus pour nous entretenir avec les quatre membres de la formation, à propos de leur parcours, de leurs inspirations, et pour dénicher quelques anecdotes qui remontent au début de leur histoire… Tout cela s'écoute dans l'entretien du lundi soir en deuxième partie d'émission vers 21h30. Pour la première partie d'émission, nous démarrerons avec notre groupe classique et nous parlerons thrash metal avec les Américains de MORBID SAINT. Nous diffuserons aussi quelques titres des derniers albums de SPECTRAL VOICE et HULDER récemment chroniqués dans nos colonnes. It's always a pleasure to talk to Nathanael Underwood vocalist & guitarist with Damim. The last time we met was at the Siege of Limerick this year, he was there as a spectator soaking up the unique atmosphere that only the Siege can conjure up. Damim played there in October 2022, where his band unleashed their furious blend of blackened death metal on a captive audience. Nathanael told me that they were readying an EP called 'World Turned Hell', composed of two new studio tracks with two live recordings, so the invite was issued to come on the Podcast when the EP was released. We talk about this brilliant release, their fantastically unique comic series 'The Bloodied' along with what Damim have planned for the rest of the year. Robert Cooper takes over as we review one of his picks, Akercocke - Renaissance in Extremis! Akercocke are an English extreme metal band from London, formed in 1997 by Jason Mendonca and David Gray. The band also features Paul Scanlan and Nathanael Underwood. A new album, Renaissance in Extremis, was released on 25 August 2017, Which was their first full length album in a decade since 2007's 'Antichrist'.
