    Ivy Insights

The Pod Like A Hole podcast is a must-listen for any fan of Nine Inch Nails or Trent Reznor's discography. Hosted by Marc, Eric, and Steven, this podcast offers an in-depth analysis of NIN tracks, history, and other fun related stories. The hosts provide a deep dive into each album, providing insight and information that even the most dedicated fan may not have known. One of the standout episodes is when their friend Joe acts as an encyclopedia to the industrial genre. The chemistry between the hosts is evident, with their humor and camaraderie making for an entertaining listening experience.

What sets The Pod Like A Hole apart is its detailed analysis of each album. The hosts delve into the context surrounding each release, discussing current events and pop culture of that era to give listeners a sense of what was happening at the time. Their thorough dissection of each song provides new perspective for fans and compels them to revisit the albums with fresh ears. The knowledge and enthusiasm the hosts bring to the table make this podcast informative and engaging.

However, one downside of this podcast is that it occasionally strays from its main topic. While these detours can be hilarious and add to the overall entertainment value, some listeners may prefer a more focused approach. Additionally, there is occasional repetition in content across episodes, which may not bother regular listeners but could be repetitive for dedicated fans who listen to every episode.

In conclusion, The Pod Like A Hole podcast is a fantastic resource for fans of Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor's music. The hosts' deep dives into each album and their infectious love for NIN create an enjoyable listening experience. Whether you are new to NIN or a longtime fan looking to delve deeper into their music, The Pod Like A Hole is a podcast worth tuning in to.

The End. A review and a look back. It's been over seven years since Marc and Steve brought on an intern  (Eric) to create a music review podcast.  Since then they covered every single NIN and Bowie song, and 42 separate albums by other artists ( plus related discographies).  The Trio has reached the end of the road, and they find themselves back at the starting line.  Pod Like Hole's pilot experiment, the first episode, was Nine Inch Nails' “Pretty Hate Machine”, but the Hole Boys didn't really know what they were doing yet.  Blushing amateurs, they bungled a classic record.  In the spirit of setting things right in this jacked up universe, they will finish what they started.  But this time....they'll get it right. (what year is this?) Enjoy a track by track review of “Pretty Hate Machine” , and betwixt the analysis the guys will reflect on this project, their friendship, and the incredible listeners we've gotten to know over the better part of a decade. It's a loose, long goodbye. As the bionic guitars of Ringfinger echo into the stratosphere, so do your hosts. While our friendship is eternal, this project has been canceled.   This is our goodbye.  But …..to quote Joe Strummer, (co-creator of our only perfectly scored record), “ The Future is Unwritten”…. We thank you, faithful listeners, for following us as we talked for countless hours about our favorite music, artists, and bands in what felt, at times, a neverending project. Willie bet on himself (and the talents of his sister Bobbi Nelson) and hit big.  This is the 2nd and final episode in our Willie Nelson series. Willie Nelson is many things: a lover, a traveler, a Texan, a guitar player, smoker, outlaw, hero, poet, fashion icon, actor, activist, philanthropist, gunslinger, wiseacre, animal lover, brother, father, husband (four times over), Hellraiser, braids and beard enthusiast, but most of all Willie is a friend to all.  In this episode of Pod Like A Hole the hosts discuss the life and times of WIllie Nelson. His brushes with the leaf and the law, his multiple wives, his work as a public servant to the people and animals of America, his collaborations that cross genres and his work with the other Outlaw Country Heroes, and how he manages to be a man that for 91 years and counting is still making music and along the way has become a friend to almost everyone in every walk of life.  We find time to touch on 10 or so of his standout albums (couldn't get to all 100+ of his records), and in the next episode we will dedicate the recording to his masterpiece: The Red Headed Stranger.
