It's never dull at Goodison and, as ever, the Royal Blue podcast team have plenty to get through in his episode. The panel reflect on the midweek draw with Leicester City, eulogising about the goal from James Rodriguez but agonise over yet another gaffe from Jordan Pickford. Pickford's form - and his future - is up for discussion with host Phil Kirkbride joined by Dave Prentice and Gav Buckland. There is some disagreement over Carlo Ancelotti's tactics in the game, with one saying the Blues boss used his experience well, with another saying he made mistakes. Off the pitch, Cenk Tosun looks like he's going, Bernard could be going but Yannick Bolasie has gone. The panel look back at the Goodison career of Bolasie and debate the impact of the serious knee injury he suffered early in his first season. Plus there are the customary predictions as Everton welcome Newcastle United to Goodison. Enjoy.

The third episode of the short 20/21 pre-season sees Judgy representing the Blues alongside Phil and Terry for the Reds, as we look back over the first friendly games of pre-season, plus the news and rumours surrounding both teams this week. For Liverpool, the standout performances of Naby Keita and Curtis Jones are highlighted, from the 3-0 friendly win against Stuttgart, whilst Phil and Terry ponder over whether Liverpool should have Brewster as part of the plans for the coming season. The rumours of a deal for Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich continue to gather momentum and the reds express their excitement at a possible transfer, following his performance in the Champions League final. Judgy talks through the 3-3 draw with Blackpool which saw the blues crawl out the blocks, going 3-0 down in 11 minutes, before recovering to salvage a draw. Rustiness is blamed for that and Judgy looks to the positives of seeing new signing Nkounkou impress in his cameo, as well as considering the significance of Jon Joe Kenny getting the nod at right back ahead of Seamus Coleman. The move for Allan seems to be very close now and Judgy once again highlights his eagerness to get that deal done to help boost morale and quality amongst the squad. Lastly, there are some social media questions for both sides of the park, including the role of youngster Anthony Gordon in Everton's side, the performance of Bolasie at the weekend and whether the reds would part with Wijnaldum, with one of our listeners adamant that he should not be allowed to leave the club at any cost.
The agenda for today's Royal Blue podcast includes Yerry Mina, Fabian Delph, the visit of Leicester City, Yannick Bolasie and Jonjoe Kenny. Host Phil Kirkbride is joined by Adam Jones and Sam Carroll to preview Wednesday night's game at Goodison plus discuss what Carlo Ancelotti said at this pre-match press conference, as well as all the other Blues news. Ancelotti confirmed that Mina is fit again and will be in the squad to face Leicester while Djibril Sidibe will return to training on Friday and Theo Walcott next week. But Delph remains injured and the panel talk about their frustrations over a stop-start first season at Everton for the midfielder. Confidence is high for another Everton win as the panel point to Leicester's packed start, which has only seen them draw two of their opening three league and cup games. Bolasie is also talking in a confident mood today, declaring his intention to return to Everton in pre-season and fight for his place, but the panel don't share the winger's optimism. Yet, there is greater hope that on the back of a successful season on loan at Schalke, Kenny has done enough to force his way into Ancelotti's thinking. Enjoy.

Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye were on target as Crystal Palace clinched a fifth win of the campaign from eight games at the expense of Tony Pulis’ West Brom side. In a quiet encounter that the Eagles dominated from start to finish, it took one moment of inspiration to finally unlock a resolute West Brom defence when Cabaye’s fine cross was headed into the net by Bolasie on 68 minutes to score his first Selhurst Park goal since January 2013.
