Thank you all for your patience last week with the episode. It's all gonna be worth it for this episode right here with Alex otherwise known as the Voice Of Reason. Now I'm sure there are gonna be plenty of more new faces around here considering Alex has a huge platform and this is gonna be the first time that you're seeing me around here but let me introduce myself. My name is Isaac Padilla. I'm the host of The Catholic Warrior Podcast and on this episode and I am a Catholic Men's Fitness Coach I wanted to get to know Alex on a more personal level than what you normally see of him. I actually told Alex before we filmed that this would be his Joe Rogan type of podcast. I had no prior questions ready nothing is scripted. We just had a conversation as men. This isn't the normal Voice Of Reason that you're used to seeing about apologetics or theology or battling protestants even though I think that's amazing and I love to watch him own all of them. In this episode, you will learn more about who Alex is. Alex grew up three hours north of my hometown in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He mentioned to me that he felt a specific call towards the priesthood at a very early age. He was even a seminarian. We continue to talk about the fact that he was a well trained fighter, and even a professional actor that starred in the spin of series of the famous show Breaking Bad “Better Call Saul” (they made him the Mexican cartel dude.. smh) it is an episode full of two Nuevo Mexico boys who are rough around the edges, that gave everything for God. We have that in common more than anything else. Enjoy and God bless you. Craig Elsten and Ben Higgins started podcasting about Better Call Saul in Episode #1 of Crossing Streams. 193 episodes later, the guys are back together one more time to dive into the Albuquerque universe created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, recapping the final four episodes of Season 6, including the series finale. Never mind #1 show of 2022: is the combined Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul run the best TV making of the 21st century?
Originally Recorded 2022/04/23 Our inaugural coverage of (something other than an episode of The Walking Dead Universe) Better Call Saul: In its 6th and final season. You have Sherrandy (AKA @BlazyGardener) to thank as she was the one who was really passionate about us doing this and, as we've alluded to at many points during our podcast's history, we've always wanted to branch out and talk about other television shows under this podcast's banner (and Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul are usually first on the list of series that are rattled off). As both the 1st and 2nd episodes of this season of Better Call Saul were released, simultaneously, so too goes our episode coverage. As mentioned in the pre-amble, we first debuted these episodes on our YouTube Channel, to fairly decent reception, so we continued along this path. Our first several episodes and reaction videos were marked unlisted, to create more of a groundswell and to receive more feedback from our Ko-fi members, then we debuted them all in a row a few weeks later. If you want the opportunity to stay ahead of the curve on any new material we plan on releasing, the only place we develop these ideas is on our Ko-fi page. Create a FREE account, today, on Ko-fi.com and follow us on Ko-fi.com/SQUAWKINGDEAD to get the inside baseball on what we're doing as a podcast. You don't have to buy us a coffee or join a membership tier (for as little as a $1): it's the only place where we post our recording sessions, unedited episode recordings, and our new ideas to get your feedback (rather than on Social Media). Don't want to wait for these episodes to release via the audio podcast?
Thursday 7-30-20 Show #504: We were lucky enough to get to speak to Lavell Crawford (from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul) who is appearing at the Orlando Improv all weekend, and we also talk about that stimulus - where is it, Trump?
Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show with Bob and David, Breaking Bad Better Call Saul) and Richard Whitley (screenwriter of Rock N Roll High School) join the Four Old Millennials to talk about the 1979 Ramones musical Rock N Roll High School. Not long after the 40th anniversary of the film's release, Richard takes us through some of the screenwriting and production processes and regales us with some stories about The Ramones, Roger Corman, and what it was like being on set for the filming of the movie. After his interview, the rest of us talk about some of the wacky moments in the movie, the amazing soundtrack, Riff Randell as feminist icon, and whether any movie has ever done a better job of showcasing a relatively-unknown musical talent.
