Brittan Stockert is a fundraising coach with DonorBox, a donor management platform with a mission "to do everything in our power to support nonprofit organizations in their efforts to make a difference." Brittan's role is to help "nonprofits and social-impact organizations build sustainable fundraising strategies by strengthening donor relationships, improving CRM systems, and simplifying day-to-day fundraising." Brittan joins the podcast to talk about the evolution of thinking in mutual aid - direct giving from donor to recipient without a formal charity in the loop. Brittan talks about the history of mutual aid, and the changes in how mutual aid is moving forward since the pandemic, uprisings, and resistance movements in 2026 and beyond. Britt talks about trust as a key factor in both mutual aid giving and giving to support formal charities. Mutual aid support in the present moment relies on community-based trust, but also relies on traditional nonprofits to eschew "main character energy" and center the immediate needs with trust in community. Younger or new donors may be quicker to let go of control or power, and institutional charities may do well to follow suite and let go of some power in these situations. Är kristendomen mer vänster eller mer höger? Är Tidöregeringens migrationspolitik okristlig – ja faktiskt så okristlig att Kristdemokraterna borde sluta använda “krist-” före demokraterna? Var Jesus mest som en svensk socialdemokrat, eller mer som en amerikansk republikan?Den senaste tiden har debatten gått varm om kristendomens politiska implikationer. Henrik Jönsson mot Johannes Klenell, Joel Halldorf mot Kristdemokraterna, och så vidare. Gemensamt för debatterna är att tron mest blivit en klubba i politisk strid.Jag läste nyligen en text på 100% (100.se) som fångade det där rätt väl: att både den amerikanska kristna högern och den svenska kristna vänstern ofta gör samma misstag. I veckans Under all kritik läser vi antologin Striden om genus –Politik, vetenskap & social kamp (Appell Förlag 2025) – och upptäcker att vi tydligen hamnar någonstans på skalan mellan Putin, Trump, Orbán och Sverigedemokraterna. Mordet i Rönninge var inte bara en tragedi. Det var ett systemfel som gick att förutse. En högriskperson som aldrig borde ha släppts ut igen, fick ett kort straff och var ute efter att ha avtjänat två tredjedelar trots att han misskött sig under fängelsetiden. En av dem som varnade när han kom ut var Sara Nilsson från Dumpen, som hon och Patrik Sjöberg driver ihop, och som jag pratar med i dagens podd. Hon varnade så att barn i personens närhet skulle kunna skyddas, men på grund av hur svenska lagar ser ut riskerade hon att dömas för förtal.Vi har byggt ett samhälle där det är mindre riskfyllt att vara högrisk än att säga att någon är högrisk. I dag måste Polisen invänta att brottet redan har begåtts innan de kan agera, även om alla varningslampor blinkar. Dumpen växer i det glappet. Inte för att Sara och Patrik tror att de är staten – utan för att staten inte tar sitt ansvar.Nu rör sig politiken, sent men ändå: i november tog regeringen emot en utredning om stärkt brottsbekämpning genom lagreglering av provokation. Den täpper till metod-luckan: i dag är polisens möjligheter att agera proaktivt mot grooming juridiskt osäkra och ofta för sena, så utredningen ger lagstöd för provokativa åtgärder under åklagarbeslut och tydliga ramar.Sverigedemokraterna har å sin sida presenterat ett slags Lex Dumpen som täpper till ansvars-luckan: i dag kan en gärningsman smita undan när “barnet” i chatten i själva verket är ett lockbete eller en polis, eftersom brottet kan bedömas som otjänligt försök eller falla utanför grooming – förslaget skulle innebära att man kan döma ändå.Parallellt finns också utredningar om stärkt samhällsskydd vid återfall i grova brott – alltså vad vi gör med dem vi redan vet är farliga. Kanske inte så känd för den breda allmänheten, men däremot för oss som på olika sätt jobbar med eller skriver om politik. Simon Westberg är en sån där person man går till om man behöver förstå något på djupet, särskilt om allt som rör idéutveckling och ideologi. Sedan oktober i år är han statssekreterare hos energi- och näringsminister Ebba Busch, och är nu aktuell med boken Västerlandets motståndsrörelse – Konservatismen - från Edmund Burke till Roger Scruton (Svensk Tidskrift 2025). Det är en bok jag önskar jag hade fått läsa för 20 år sedan, när jag läste statsvetenskap på universitetet. I sin bok har Westberg formulerat vad konservatismen faktiskt vill försvara. Den börjar inte i nostalgi utan i en människosyn: att vi är blandningar av gott och ont, oförmögna att skapa paradiset på jorden, men fullt kapabla att förstöra väldigt mycket om vi tror att vi kan börja om i ”år noll”.I boken beskriver han konservatismen som ett motstånd mot just den tanken, mot den revolution som går ut på att kasta ut allt det gamla för att föda det nya.
