In Episode 207, we explore Luke 10:1-12 and Jesus' commissioning of seventy-two disciples for mission. Jesus chooses seventy-two followers and sends them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places He plans to visit. His instructions are striking in their simplicity and their radical dependence: no money, no traveler's bag, no extra sandals. They can't rely on their own resources. They can't fall back on their own provision. They have to trust that the Lord of the harvest will provide through the people they serve. Through guided meditation, discover what Jesus builds into the sending from the very beginning. Before they go anywhere, before they knock on a single door or enter a single town, Jesus tells them: "Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." The mission begins in prayer. Not strategy. Not planning. Not training programs or outreach campaigns. Prayer. This is the foundation of everything that follows. Then Jesus sends them out with the simplest possible assignment: offer peace, heal the sick, announce the Kingdom. You don't need a program. You don't need a platform. You don't need a theology degree or a polished presentation. You just need to show up, offer what Jesus gives you, and trust Him with the results. This episode explores the profound principle of radical dependence that Jesus builds into the mission. The disciples can't rely on their own resources—they're sent as lambs among wolves. But this vulnerability is not weakness; it's the design. It forces them to trust the Lord of the harvest, to depend on His provision, to experience His faithfulness in real time. Learn what Jesus asks them to do when they enter a home or a town: offer peace first. Not a program. Not an argument. Not a sales pitch. Peace. And then heal the sick and announce that the Kingdom of God is near. The message is simple. The method is relational. The power comes from God. Discover how this applies to your life today. The harvest is great. The workers are few. And Jesus is looking at you. Identify your own harvest field—the three specific people in your neighborhood, workplace, family, or circle of friends who don't yet know Jesus—and begin where Jesus told His disciples to begin: on your knees in prayer. Find the freedom and confidence that comes from knowing that the mission doesn't depend on your resources, your eloquence, or your strategy. It depends on the Lord of the harvest—and He is more than enough.
In Episode 206, we explore John 10:11-18 and Jesus' powerful declaration: "I am the good shepherd." Jesus draws a sharp and revealing contrast between two kinds of leaders. The hired hand works for a paycheck. When the wolf comes—when things get dangerous, when the cost gets too high—he runs. The sheep don't belong to him. He doesn't love them. He leaves them to face the wolf alone. But the Good Shepherd stays. Not because He has to. Not because He's trapped or obligated. But because He chooses to. "No one can take my life from me," Jesus says. "I sacrifice it voluntarily." This is not a reluctant sacrifice made under compulsion. This is love in its purest form—a shepherd who sees the wolf coming and steps between the wolf and the sheep. Through guided meditation, discover what makes Jesus' shepherding so profoundly personal. "I know my own sheep," He says. "And they know me—just as my Father knows me and I know the Father." Jesus doesn't just die for a crowd or a concept or a religious category. He dies for sheep He knows by name. He knows your fears. He knows your wandering. He knows the places you've been scattered and the wounds you carry from it. He knows the needs you haven't voiced and the prayers you've been afraid to pray. And He came anyway. He stayed anyway. He laid down His life anyway. This episode explores the radical nature of Jesus' voluntary sacrifice. "No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again." Jesus is not a victim of circumstances. He is not caught off guard by the cross. He walks toward it with full knowledge and full authority, choosing to lay down His life because He knows His sheep and loves them completely. Learn what it means to be truly known by Jesus—not just generally as part of humanity, but personally, specifically, by name. Discover how this changes everything about how you face your fears, your struggles, and your hidden needs. Find the courage to bring one unspoken need to the Good Shepherd today—the worry you haven't voiced, the fear you've been managing alone, the need you haven't brought to anyone because it feels too small or too complicated or too shameful. Experience the freedom and rest that comes from trusting a Shepherd who doesn't run when things get hard, who knows you completely, and who chose to lay down His life specifically for you.
In Episode 205, we explore John 9:28-41 and the stunning conclusion to the story of the man born blind. The formerly blind man has been interrogated by the Pharisees, who are furious that he keeps defending Jesus. They curse him, claim their authority as disciples of Moses, and dismiss Jesus entirely: "We don't even know where this man comes from." But the formerly blind man responds with remarkable clarity and courage: "Why, that's very strange! He healed my eyes, and yet you don't know where he comes from? Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn't have done it." The Pharisees are enraged. "You were born a total sinner!" they say. And they throw him out of the synagogue—rejecting him, dismissing him, cutting him off from the religious community entirely. Through guided meditation, discover what happens next. Jesus hears what happened and seeks the man out. Not the other way around. Jesus finds him. And He asks a simple question: "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" The man's answer is beautiful in its honesty: "Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him." He doesn't have all the theology yet. He doesn't have a complete understanding of who Jesus is. But he has the posture—open, willing, hungry. And that's enough for Jesus. "You have seen him," Jesus says. "And he is speaking to you." And the man worships. This episode traces the remarkable journey of this formerly blind man: blind beggar to healed man to rejected outcast to worshipper. His sight kept growing—from physical eyes to spiritual eyes to full recognition of who Jesus is. Each step of rejection and difficulty deepened his sight rather than diminishing it. Meanwhile, the Pharisees—certain they already see, confident in their knowledge and authority—are declared by Jesus to be completely blind. "You remain guilty because you claim you can see." Certainty has become their blindness. Their confidence in their own sight has closed their eyes to the truth standing right in front of them. Learn why certainty can be the enemy of sight and why the willingness to say "I want to believe—show me" is the beginning of truly seeing. Discover how Jesus seeks out the rejected and the outcast, finding those who have been thrown out by the religious establishment and offering them the fullest revelation of who He is. Find practical steps for tracing your own journey from blindness to sight to worship, and discover where you may be blind without knowing it. Experience how sight that doesn't lead to worship is incomplete, and let your open eyes lead you all the way to the feet of Jesus.
In Episode 204, we explore John 9:8-12 and the aftermath of one of Scripture's most remarkable healings. Jesus has healed a man who was born blind—a man everyone in the neighborhood knew as the blind beggar who sat and begged. But now he can see. And the neighbors are completely confused. Some don't even recognize him. "Isn't this the blind beggar?" "No, he just looks like him." And the man keeps saying: "Yes. I am the same one." He doesn't have a theology degree. He doesn't have all the answers. When they ask where Jesus is, he simply says: "I don't know." But what he does know—what no one can take from him—is this: "The man they call Jesus made mud and spread it over my eyes and told me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.' So I went and washed, and now I can see." That's his testimony. Three sentences. Unpolished. Unashamed. Unstoppable. Through guided meditation, discover what makes this testimony so powerful. He can't explain the theology of how mud and water opened his eyes. He can't tell them where Jesus went. He doesn't have answers to every question they might ask. But he can tell them what happened to him. And nobody can argue with that. This episode explores how your story works the same way. You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need to be a theologian. You don't need to understand every doctrine or be able to defend every argument. You just need to know what Jesus did for you—and be willing to say it. Learn why the most powerful testimony is often the simplest one. The beggar's three-sentence story—what he was, what Jesus did, what is different now—is more compelling than any theological argument because it's personal, specific, and undeniable. No one can argue with your experience. No one can debate what you've lived. Discover your own "now I can see" moment—the thing Jesus has done for you that you could tell someone today, simply and honestly. Find practical steps for identifying one person in your life who needs to hear your story and crafting your testimony in three simple sentences. Learn why you don't need to wait for the perfect moment or the perfect words. The beggar didn't wait. He just kept saying: "Yes, I am the same one—and now I can see." You have a story too. And it's more powerful than you think.
In Episode 203, we explore John 9:1-7 and Jesus' surprising healing of a man born blind. As Jesus walks along, He sees a man who has been blind from birth. The disciples immediately ask a theological question: "Who sinned—this man or his parents?" They want to assign blame. They want to explain the suffering. They want to fit it into a neat theological category. But Jesus doesn't answer their question. He reframes it entirely: "This happened so the power of God could be seen in him." The blindness isn't punishment. It's not the result of sin. It's an opportunity—not for the man's shame, but for God's glory. Through guided meditation, discover what Jesus does next. He spits on the ground, makes mud with His saliva, and spreads it on the man's eyes. Then He gives a simple command: "Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam." No explanation. No guarantee. No description of what will happen when he gets there. Just mud on his eyes and a direction to follow. And the man goes. He doesn't argue. He doesn't ask for a sign. He doesn't demand to understand the method. He doesn't wait until it makes sense. He just obeys. And he comes back seeing. This episode explores the profound principle at the heart of this miracle: This is how Jesus often works. Not in the way we expect. Not with a method we would choose. Not with a clear explanation that satisfies our questions. But with a simple invitation to trust and obey—and the sight comes after the step, not before it. Learn what it means to have mud on your eyes—something uncomfortable, something strange, something you don't understand—that Jesus is using to open your sight. Discover why Jesus reframes suffering not as punishment but as opportunity for God's glory to be revealed. Explore how the disciples' question reveals our tendency to explain suffering rather than look for what God might be doing in it. Find practical steps for identifying what Jesus has been asking you to do that you've been hesitating on—the conversation you've been avoiding, the step of generosity you've been putting off, the habit He's been calling you to break, the practice He's been calling you to start. Discover why you don't need to understand the method before you obey. The blind man didn't understand why Jesus used mud. He just went and washed. And he came back seeing. You may not see clearly before you go. But you will come back seeing.
In Episode 202, we explore John 8:48-59 and the most explosive declaration Jesus ever made. The crowd has been arguing with Jesus for chapters. They've called Him a Samaritan devil. They've accused Him of being demon-possessed. And then Jesus says something that ends the conversation entirely: "Before Abraham was even born, I AM." They pick up stones. Why? Because they understand exactly what He's saying. "I AM" is the name God gave Himself to Moses at the burning bush. It's the divine name that belongs to God alone. And Jesus is claiming it for Himself—not just saying He existed before Abraham, but making a far more radical claim: I AM. Present tense. Eternal. Uncreated. The same God who spoke to Moses, who called Abraham, who has been at work in the world since before time began. Through guided meditation, discover what makes this declaration so breathtaking. Jesus says: "Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad." The whole story of Scripture has been pointing toward this moment. Every sacrifice, every promise, every covenant—all of it pointing to Jesus. He has always been there. He has always been God. He is the I AM. This episode explores what it means that Jesus is not just a good teacher, not just a prophet, not just a moral example—but the eternal I AM, the God of Abraham, the One the whole story has been about. When you truly grasp this, it changes everything. It changes how you pray—you're not talking to a distant deity but to the eternal I AM who is always present. It changes how you face your circumstances—you're not facing them alone but with the One who holds all things together. It changes how you understand Scripture—every page is pointing to Him. It changes how you live—you're not following a philosophy but walking with the living God. Learn why the crowd's reaction—picking up stones—reveals the weight of what Jesus claimed. They couldn't bear it. But you can sit with it. You can let it change you. Discover a powerful contemplative practice for letting the name "I AM" become the anchor of your day—morning, midday, and afternoon—letting its weight settle over you as a declaration, an anchor, and a surrender. Experience the freedom that comes from knowing that the eternal I AM is present with you in every moment of your ordinary day, that He was before all things, holds all things together, and is the foundation everything else is built on.
In Episode 201, we explore John 8:39-47 and one of Scripture's harshest passages. Jesus is speaking to people who claim to be God's children, descendants of Abraham, and He tells them they're actually children of the devil. It's shocking. It's confrontational. It's uncomfortable. But Jesus isn't being cruel—He's being clear about a fundamental spiritual principle. The crowd claims: "Our father is Abraham! God himself is our true Father!" But Jesus says: Look at what you're doing. Look at who you're imitating. You're trying to kill me. Abraham never did that. You're imitating your real father—and it's not Abraham. It's not God. Through guided meditation, discover the principle Jesus is laying out: Your spiritual father is revealed by who you imitate. If you imitate God, God is your father. If you imitate the devil, the devil is your father. It's not about what you claim. It's not about your heritage or your lineage or your religious credentials. It's about who you actually imitate—whose character you reflect, whose values you embody, whose actions you repeat. Jesus identifies the devil's character clearly: He's a murderer. He hates truth. He's a liar. He's the father of lies. So when the crowd rejects the truth Jesus is speaking—when they refuse to believe Him even though He's telling the truth—Jesus is saying: You're imitating the devil. You're reflecting his character. You're showing whose child you really are. This episode explores what Jesus identifies as the true test of spiritual identity: "Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God." Not your heritage. Not your credentials. Not your claims. But this: Do you listen to God's words? Do you receive them? Do you let them reshape you? If you belong to God, you'll listen gladly. You'll be open. You'll receive. You'll believe. If you don't belong to God, you won't listen. You can't hear. You won't believe—not because the truth isn't clear, but because you're imitating someone else. Learn why the question isn't "Am I a good person?" or "Do I have the right beliefs?" or "Am I religious enough?" but rather "Who am I imitating? Whose character am I reflecting? Whose values am I embodying?" Discover how your spiritual father is revealed not by your words or your claims, but by your actions and your willingness to listen to and receive God's truth. Find practical steps for identifying where you're imitating the enemy—through lies, slander, rejection of truth, deception, or spreading darkness—and choosing instead to imitate God through truth, building others up, listening, and reflecting His character. Experience the freedom that comes from consciously choosing to be a child of God through imitating His character and listening gladly to His words.
In Episode 200, we explore John 8:31-38 and Jesus' radical teaching on true freedom. Jesus says to those who believe in Him: "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." But the crowd misunderstands. They're descendants of Abraham. They've never been slaves to anyone politically or physically. So what does Jesus mean, "You will be set free"? Jesus is talking about something much deeper than political or physical freedom. He's talking about spiritual slavery. "Everyone who sins is a slave of sin," Jesus says. Through guided meditation, discover what this means. When you sin, you're not free. You're enslaved. You're bound. You're trapped in a pattern that you can't break, a habit you can't quit, a desire you can't control. You think you're free when you indulge your sin, but you're actually becoming more enslaved to it. The person addicted to anger is not free—they're enslaved to their rage. The person addicted to lust is not free—they're enslaved to their desires. The person addicted to approval is not free—they're enslaved to what others think. The person addicted to control is not free—they're enslaved to their need to manage everything. The person addicted to shame is not free—they're enslaved to their past. We think freedom is doing whatever we want. But Jesus is saying: That's not freedom. That's slavery. True freedom is being set free from the things that enslave you. This episode explores the beautiful promise Jesus makes: "If the Son sets you free, you are truly free." Jesus doesn't just teach you about freedom. He doesn't just tell you the truth. He sets you free. He breaks the chains. He releases you from the slavery of sin. But notice what He says first: "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings." Discipleship is not just believing in Jesus. It's remaining faithful to His teachings. It's following Him. It's letting His truth reshape your life. And when you do—when you remain faithful to His teachings, when you follow Him, when you let His truth work in you—then you experience true freedom. Learn why the crowd can't understand this because they're thinking in earthly terms about political slavery and status. But Jesus is talking about something far more fundamental: freedom from the slavery of sin. Some are so enslaved that they're trying to kill the One who came to set them free. They have no room in their hearts for His message because they're too full of their own desires, their own pride, their own slavery. But for those who will listen, who will remain faithful to His teachings, who will let Him set them free—for them, true freedom is possible. Discover practical steps for identifying the slavery that binds you and choosing to remain faithful to Jesus' teachings so that He can set you free. Experience the liberation that comes from being freed not just to do whatever you want, but from the things that enslave you—that is true freedom.
In Episode 198, we explore John 8:12-20 and Jesus' powerful declaration of His identity and mission. Jesus speaks to the people and says: "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." It's a simple statement, but it's profoundly significant. Jesus is offering a choice between two ways of living: You can walk in darkness, or you can follow Him and walk in light. You can stumble and be lost, or you can see clearly and find your way. Through guided meditation, discover what darkness represents: confusion, lostness, stumbling around without knowing where you're going, making decisions without clarity or direction, being blind to what's real. And what is light? Clarity. Vision. Being able to see where you're going. Understanding your path. Seeing reality as it actually is. Jesus is saying: I am that light. If you follow Me, you won't stumble in darkness. You'll see. You'll understand. You'll know the way. But the Pharisees challenge Him: "You're making claims about yourself. That's not valid testimony." They're saying: You can't just declare who you are. You need external validation. You need witnesses. And Jesus responds with something remarkable: "These claims are valid even though I make them about myself. For I know where I came from and where I am going." Jesus is saying: I don't need your validation. I know who I am. I know where I came from—from the Father. I know where I'm going—back to the Father. I have complete self-knowledge and complete clarity about My identity and My mission. This episode explores what Jesus promises to those who follow Him: "If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness." Not because you'll understand everything. Not because all your questions will be answered. But because you'll have light. You'll have clarity about what matters most. You'll have direction. The Pharisees are still in darkness. They don't know who Jesus is. They don't know who the Father is. They're judging by human standards, by their own logic, by their own understanding. And that blinds them to the truth standing right in front of them. But anyone who follows Jesus—anyone who says yes to His light—doesn't have to stay in that darkness. You can see. You can understand. You can walk with confidence because you have light. Learn why following Jesus doesn't require seeing the entire journey ahead, but rather trusting the light that illuminates the next step. Discover practical steps for identifying areas of darkness in your life and inviting Jesus' light to illuminate confusion, lostness, and uncertainty. Find the freedom and confidence that comes from walking in clarity rather than stumbling in darkness.
In Episode 197, we explore John 7:53-8:11 and one of Scripture's most powerful stories of mercy and grace. The Pharisees bring a woman caught in the act of adultery and throw her in front of the crowd—exposed, ashamed, condemned. They present Jesus with a test: "The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?" It's a trap designed to catch Jesus in a contradiction. If Jesus says to stone her, He's rejecting mercy. If He says to let her go, He's rejecting the law. Either way, they think they have Him. But Jesus does something unexpected. He stoops down and writes in the dust. We don't know what He wrote. The Scripture doesn't tell us. Some have speculated He wrote the sins of the accusers. Some think He wrote the law. Some think He was simply giving Himself a moment to respond with wisdom instead of reaction. But whatever He wrote, it was an act of profound mercy. Through guided meditation, discover what happens next. When the Pharisees keep demanding an answer, Jesus stands up and says: "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone." Then He stoops down again and writes in the dust. What happens is remarkable. One by one, the accusers slip away. Beginning with the oldest—the ones who should know better, the ones who have lived long enough to know their own sin. They leave. All of them. Until only Jesus is left with the woman. Jesus doesn't condemn her. He releases her. "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more." But notice what Jesus does: He doesn't excuse her sin. He doesn't pretend it didn't happen. He says, "Go and sin no more." He's calling her to transformation, not just forgiveness. This episode explores the profound difference between judgment and mercy. The Pharisees are holding stones. They're ready to execute judgment. But Jesus invites them to look at themselves first. And when they do, when they really see their own sin, they can't throw the stone. The same principle applies to you. When you're holding a stone against someone—when you're judging them, condemning them, holding their sin against them—Jesus is inviting you to look at yourself first. To see your own sin. To recognize your own need for grace. And when you really see it, you can't throw the stone. You drop it. Because you realize you're just as guilty. You're just as broken. You're just as much in need of mercy. Learn why Jesus' mercy doesn't excuse sin but invites transformation. Discover how seeing your own sin becomes the pathway to extending grace to others. Find practical steps for identifying the stones you're carrying, examining your own sin, and choosing to extend mercy instead of judgment. Experience the freedom that comes from dropping your stone and extending the same grace you've received.
In Episode 196, we explore John 7:40-52 and the tension between knowing about Jesus and truly knowing Him. The crowd in this passage knows about Jesus. They know the Scriptures. They know what the Messiah is supposed to be like. They know the prophecies. They can quote the law. They understand the theology perfectly. But knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus are two very different things. The crowd uses their knowledge to dismiss Jesus: "He's from Galilee. The Messiah comes from Bethlehem. This can't be Him." They're technically right about the Scriptures. But they're completely wrong about Jesus. They have information, but they don't have intimacy. They have facts, but they don't have faith. Through guided meditation, discover how the religious leaders are the perfect example of this danger. They know the Scriptures inside and out. They can cite chapter and verse. They understand the law perfectly. But Jesus looks at them and says they don't know the Father. They don't know God. All their knowledge has become a barrier to relationship. Their theological accuracy has become a substitute for intimate encounter. And then there's Nicodemus—a leader, educated, knowledgeable. But there's something different about him. He's willing to ask questions. He's willing to listen. He's willing to consider that maybe there's more to Jesus than what he already knows. He's not defending his knowledge; he's seeking to know. He's willing to be surprised and transformed. This episode explores the profound danger of substituting knowledge for relationship. You can know everything about Jesus and still not know Jesus. You can read the Bible, attend church, understand theology, quote Scripture, and still miss the whole point. Knowledge can become a substitute for relationship. Information can become a barrier to intimacy. Jesus isn't looking for people who know about Him. He's looking for people who know Him. He's not impressed by your theological accuracy. He's moved by your openness to Him. He's not looking for people who have all the answers. He's looking for people who are willing to encounter Him and be transformed by Him. The crowd thought they knew who Jesus was. They had their categories, their expectations, their understanding. And that knowledge kept them from truly meeting Him. Learn why the question isn't "Do you know about Jesus?" but rather "Do you know Jesus? Have you encountered Him? Have you let Him change you? Are you in relationship with Him, or just in agreement with information about Him?" Discover practical steps for moving from comfortable, familiar knowledge to fresh encounter. Find the freedom that comes from being willing to let Jesus surprise you, challenge you, and transform you—even if it means surrendering what you thought you already knew.
In Episode 195, we explore John 7:37-39 and Jesus' powerful invitation to the thirsty. Picture the scene: It's the last day of the festival—the climax, the moment when everything comes to a head. And Jesus stands up and shouts—not whispers, but shouts—to the crowds: "Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'" He's not talking about physical thirst. He's talking about the deep, aching hunger that lives in every human heart—the longing for something more, the sense that there's something missing, something we need but can't quite name. Through guided meditation, discover what we try to fill that thirst with: success, relationships, comfort, pleasure, achievement, approval. We drink and drink and drink, and yet we're still thirsty. Nothing satisfies. Nothing fills the void. Jesus is saying: Stop. Bring that thirst to Me. Don't try to satisfy it with anything else. Bring it to Me, and I will give you living water. What is living water? Jesus explains: It's the Spirit. It's the presence of God flowing through you. It's not a one-time drink that satisfies you for a moment—it's rivers, plural, flowing from your heart. It's an endless, inexhaustible source of life and transformation. This episode explores the radical nature of Jesus' invitation. He says "Anyone who is thirsty may come to me." He's not saying, "Anyone who is perfect may come." He's not saying, "Anyone who has it all figured out may come." He's saying, "Anyone who is thirsty." Your thirst is your invitation. Your longing is your qualification. The very fact that you feel empty is what makes you eligible to be filled. Notice what He promises: Not just a drink, but rivers. Not just satisfaction, but overflow. Not just for you, but flowing from you to others. When you drink of the living water, you become a source of life for those around you. Learn why your spiritual hunger is not a sign of failure or weakness—it's a sign that the Holy Spirit is drawing you toward Jesus. Discover how to stop trying to satisfy your thirst with temporary solutions and instead bring your hunger directly to Jesus. Find the freedom and fullness that comes from drinking of living water and becoming a channel through which God's life flows to others. Explore how your emptiness becomes your blessing, and your thirst becomes an invitation to both personal transformation and becoming a source of life for those around you.
In Episode 194, we explore John 7:32-36 and Jesus' mysterious statement that confuses the Pharisees completely. The Pharisees and leading priests are trying to arrest Jesus because they're threatened by Him and want to silence His message. So Jesus says something that baffles them: "I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me. You will search for me but not find me. And you cannot go where I am going." The Pharisees are completely confused. "Where is he planning to go?" they ask. "Is he thinking of leaving the country and going to the Jews in other lands? Maybe he will even teach the Greeks!" They're trying to solve the riddle logically, searching for a geographic answer. But they're missing the point entirely. Through guided meditation, discover what Jesus is actually saying. He's not talking about geography—He's talking about His ascension. He's saying: I'm going back to My Father. You cannot follow Me there because you don't know the Father. You don't believe in Me. You're trying to arrest Me, but you cannot stop what is coming. But there's something even deeper here that applies to all of us. Jesus is saying: "You will search for me but not find me." There will be a time when Jesus is no longer physically present. There will be a time when His followers have to follow Him by faith, not by sight. The disciples will experience this after the resurrection. Jesus will ascend to heaven. He will be gone physically. And yet He will be more present than ever—through His Spirit, through His Word, through His church. This episode explores what this means for your life: You cannot follow Jesus if you need to see Him. You cannot follow Jesus if you need to understand where He's going. Faith means trusting Him even when the destination is unclear. Faith means following Him into mystery. The Pharisees wanted certainty. They wanted to know exactly where Jesus was going so they could stop Him. But Jesus doesn't offer certainty—He offers Himself. He offers a relationship. He offers trust. Learn why Jesus speaks in riddles: He's inviting us into deeper trust, calling us to seek Him rather than answers, challenging us to follow a Person rather than a plan. Discover practical steps for identifying where Jesus is leading you into mystery and finding the courage to follow without needing to see the whole path. Find the freedom that comes from trusting Jesus more than you trust your own understanding, and experience how seeking Jesus Himself becomes more important than seeking answers or certainty.
In Episode 193, we explore John 7:25-31 and how expectations shape what we're able to see. The crowd in Jerusalem is divided in their response to Jesus. Some people are confused and dismissive: "Isn't this the man they're trying to kill? How could he be the Messiah?" They have a specific expectation of what the Messiah will look like, and Jesus doesn't fit it. Why? Because they expect the Messiah to "simply appear" with no known origin—to come from nowhere, fully formed, obviously divine. But Jesus comes from Nazareth. He has a family. He has a hometown. He's too ordinary to be the Messiah—at least, that's what their expectations tell them. So they dismiss Him. But then there's another group looking at the same Jesus and seeing something completely different. They see the miracles. They see the teaching. They see the signs. And they say: "Would you expect the Messiah to do more miraculous signs than this man has done?" Their expectations are shaped by what they're actually witnessing, not by what they think they should see. Through guided meditation, discover what Jesus says to the first group: "Yes, you know me, and you know where I come from. But I'm not here on my own. The one who sent me is true, and you don't know him." He's saying: You're right that you know my earthly origin. But you're missing the deeper truth. I come from God. I'm sent by God. Your expectations are too small. This episode explores how this principle applies to your life. We all come to Jesus with expectations. Some are shaped by Scripture. Some are shaped by our desires, our culture, our fears, our circumstances. And when Jesus doesn't match our expectations, we have a choice: we can dismiss Him, or we can expand our expectations. Maybe you expected Jesus to solve all your problems immediately. Maybe you expected Him to make you rich, famous, or comfortable. Maybe you expected Him to punish your enemies or validate your judgments. And when He doesn't, you're disappointed. But what if Jesus is better than what you expected? What if His way is wiser than your way? What if His timing is more perfect than your timing? What if His love is deeper than what you imagined? Learn how to examine your expectations of Jesus—where they come from and whether they're based on Scripture or on your own desires. Discover where Jesus has already surprised you by being better than you expected. Find the freedom that comes from releasing expectations that are too small and opening yourself to be surprised by who Jesus truly is and what He's actually doing in your life.
In Episode 192, we explore John 7:20-24 and Jesus' brilliant exposure of religious hypocrisy. The religious leaders have condemned Jesus for healing a man on the Sabbath, claiming He's breaking God's law. They're outraged. They're ready to stone Him for this violation. But Jesus asks them a simple, penetrating question: "You circumcise on the Sabbath, don't you? You work on the Sabbath to obey the law of circumcision. So why are you angry with me for healing a man on the Sabbath?" Both acts involve work. Both involve touching the body. Both happen on the Sabbath. But the religious leaders celebrate one and condemn the other. Why? Because circumcision is their tradition, their law, their practice. But healing is Jesus' work—outside their control. So they condemn it while defending their own similar practice. Through guided meditation, discover what Jesus is really doing here. He's not just pointing out their hypocrisy—He's calling them to examine their own hearts. Why do you apply one standard to your own practices and a different standard to mine? What does that reveal about what you truly value? What does your double standard say about your priorities and your character? This episode explores how double standards reveal what we truly value. We all have them. We all apply different rules to ourselves than we apply to others. We all have practices we defend while condemning the same practices in others. Maybe you're critical of someone's parenting while being lenient with your own mistakes. Maybe you judge someone's financial choices while making similar ones yourself. Maybe you hold others accountable for their words while excusing your own harsh speech. Maybe you condemn someone's pride while defending your own self-protection. Jesus is calling you to look beneath the surface—not to condemn yourself, but to see yourself clearly. To notice where you're applying double standards. To examine what that reveals about your true values and priorities. Learn why honest self-examination is an act of humility and spiritual growth, not shame or self-condemnation. Discover practical steps for identifying your double standards, understanding why you maintain them, and finding the courage to hold yourself to the same standard you hold others to. Find the freedom that comes from seeing yourself clearly and extending the same grace to others that you're learning to extend to yourself.
In Episode 191, we explore John 7:11-19 and the profound contrast between the crowd's fearful silence and Jesus' courageous boldness. The Jewish leaders are searching for Jesus at the festival, and the crowds are grumbling about Him. Some argue He's a good man. Others claim He's a fraud who deceives people. But notice what happens: no one has the courage to speak favorably about Him in public. Why? Because they're afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders. They're afraid of losing their standing. Fear silences truth. But then Jesus shows up. Midway through the festival, He goes to the Temple and begins to teach. And He speaks boldly—not apologetically, not carefully, not with one eye on the crowd's reaction. He speaks truth. Through guided meditation, discover the key to Jesus' boldness. He explains: "My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me." Jesus isn't speaking to build His own reputation or win approval. He's speaking to honor God and do God's will. This is the crucial distinction Jesus makes: "Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies." When you speak your own message, you're protecting yourself, managing how people perceive you, afraid of consequences. But when you speak God's message, you're free. You're not trying to win approval. You're trying to honor God. The crowd remains silent because they're afraid. Jesus speaks because He's focused on something bigger than the crowd's approval—not because He's fearless, but because His mission transcends the need for human validation. This episode challenges you to examine what truths you've been silencing out of fear. What message from God are you too afraid to speak? What would it cost you to speak it? Learn how to distinguish between your own message and God's message, and why speaking God's truth requires releasing your grip on others' approval. Discover practical steps for identifying your fear, assessing whether it's bigger than your commitment to God, and finding the courage to speak truth to one trusted person today. Find the freedom that comes from honoring God instead of the crowd, and experience the boldness that flows from knowing your approval comes from God, not from people.
In Episode 190, we explore Luke 9:52-56 and a pivotal moment that reveals the disciples' misunderstanding of Jesus' mission. Jesus is on His way to Jerusalem—to the cross, to His death, to the completion of His mission to save the world. He sends messengers ahead to a Samaritan village to prepare for His arrival. But the Samaritans reject Him. They don't welcome Him because He's headed to Jerusalem, and there was ancient hostility between Jews and Samaritans. It's a small rejection. A village saying no. But watch how James and John respond: "Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up?" They want to punish the village for the slight. They want to use their power to retaliate and make the village pay for their rejection. And Jesus rebukes them. He's not just correcting their behavior—He's correcting their hearts. They're thinking like the world thinks, responding to rejection with retaliation, letting a small offense derail them from the mission. Through guided meditation, discover what Jesus does instead: He doesn't call down fire. He doesn't punish the village. He doesn't demand acceptance. He simply moves on to another village and stays focused on His purpose. This episode explores what rejection reveals about us. You will be rejected. You will be slighted. You will encounter people who don't welcome you or your message. And in those moments, you have a choice. You can react with harshness, with retaliation, with fire—or you can respond with Jesus' measured grace. Acknowledge the rejection, but don't let it define your mission. Learn why the disciples' desire to punish the village reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of Jesus' mission. Jesus' mission wasn't about forcing acceptance or punishing those who reject Him—it was about offering salvation to those who would receive it and moving on to those who would. Discover how a measured response often accomplishes far more than a reactive one. It shows strength, not weakness. It demonstrates that you're secure in your purpose, not threatened by rejection. Find practical steps for creating space between an offense and your reaction—the space where transformation happens. Learn how to ask yourself: What is my true mission here? Is retaliation going to serve that mission, or distract from it? What would Jesus do? This episode will empower you to respond with grace when rejected, stay focused on what matters, and model Jesus' strength and compassion.
In Episode 189, we explore John 7:2-9 and the profound principle of divine timing. Jesus' own brothers come to Him with what sounds like reasonable advice: "Leave here and go to Judea. Show yourself to your followers. Perform your miracles. Become famous. Don't hide like this!" They're thinking like the world thinks—maximize exposure, build your brand, strike while the iron is hot. But Jesus responds with a different perspective: "Now is not the right time for me to go." His brothers don't understand. They can't see beyond the immediate opportunity. But Jesus is operating according to a timeline they cannot perceive. Through guided meditation, discover what Jesus reveals next: "The world can't hate you, but it does hate me because I accuse it of doing evil." Jesus isn't hiding because He's afraid. He's moving according to a divine purpose. He knows that His ultimate mission—to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world—requires a specific timing. He will go to Jerusalem. He will be revealed. But it will happen at the right moment, not the world's moment. This episode explores how this principle applies to your life. There are things God is calling you to do. There are doors He wants to open. There are purposes He wants to unfold. But they will happen according to His timeline, not yours. The pressure to rush is constant. The world says: "Now! Faster! Don't miss this window!" But God says: "Wait. Trust. I am working something in you that requires time. I am preparing you for something that isn't ready yet. And you aren't ready yet either." Learn why sometimes the most faithful thing you can do is say "not yet," and why the most obedient response is to wait. Discover how to identify where you're forcing timing—pushing for something before you sense God's "yes"—and how to surrender your timeline to His. Find the freedom to trust that God's delays are not God's denials; they are preparations. Explore how Jesus waited, didn't rush, and moved according to a timeline that was perfect—and because of that, everything He accomplished has eternal significance. Your life matters too, and the things God is calling you to will be far more powerful if they unfold according to His timing, not yours.
Answer Jesus' call to radical discipleship in this transformative study of Luke 9:57-62. Jesus encounters three people who want to follow Him, but each has a "but first"—a condition, a delay, or a hesitation. This episode explores what it means to follow Jesus without conditions, without looking back, and without divided allegiance. Discover why Jesus calls for total commitment rather than partial obedience, and what it costs to truly put your hand to the plow. Learn how following Jesus means letting go of security, comfort, certainty, and the need to see the whole path ahead. Through contemplative meditation and honest reflection, identify your own "but first"—the thing you're holding onto as a condition for following Jesus—and find the courage to release it. This episode will challenge you to undivided allegiance and empower you to follow Jesus into the unknown with confidence.
Discover the transformative power of forgiveness in this profound study of Matthew 18:21-35. When Peter asks how many times he should forgive, Jesus responds: "seventy times seven"—meaning unlimited forgiveness. Through the parable of the unforgiving servant, Jesus reveals a stunning truth: you cannot be right with God while holding unforgiveness in your heart. This episode explores how you've been forgiven of an impossible debt—every sin, every failure, every shortcoming—yet you may be refusing to extend that same mercy to others. Learn why unforgiveness is actually a rejection of the mercy that saved you, and how forgiveness is not a feeling but a choice. Through contemplative meditation and practical reflection, discover who you need to forgive, what debt you've been demanding they pay, and how to release them—and yourself—from the burden of unforgiveness. This episode will liberate you from the chains of bitterness and restore you to right relationship with God.
In Episode 186, we explore Matthew 18:15-20 and Jesus' brilliant process for addressing sin and conflict in relationships. Our culture teaches us to avoid conflict at all costs—we ghost people, talk about them behind their backs, cut them off, or post passive-aggressive comments on social media. But Jesus calls us to something radically different: go to them directly and work it out. Through guided meditation, discover why avoidance doesn't heal relationships—it destroys them. When we refuse to address sin, it festers, grows, and spreads to others, creating distance where there could be reconciliation. Jesus gives us a three-step process designed with love at every stage. First, go privately with the goal of restoration, not embarrassment or judgment. If they listen and confess, you've won that person back. Second, if they don't listen, bring one or two witnesses to ensure clarity and fairness—not to gang up on them, but to protect everyone involved. Third, take it to the church community, recognizing that we're not meant to handle serious conflict alone. This episode explores the profound promise that bookends this teaching: "If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them." Jesus is saying that when you come together for the work of reconciliation, He is present with you. Learn why confrontation requires courage and humility, and why it's ultimately an act of profound love. Discover practical steps for preparing your heart before a difficult conversation: check yourself for humility, clarify that your goal is restoration not victory, and choose your words carefully. Find the freedom to show up honestly and seek restoration, trusting that God is with you in the hard conversations.
Confront the seriousness of sin in this challenging study of Mark 9:42-50. Jesus uses shocking language—cut off your hand, gouge out your eye—to communicate how catastrophic sin truly is. This episode explores why we minimize sin and its effects, and why Jesus calls us to radical seriousness about even the smallest transgressions. Discover how sin corrupts your soul, separates you from God, and spreads to those around you. Learn why taking sin seriously isn't about shame or fear, but about freedom and wholeness. Through contemplative meditation and honest reflection, identify where you've been tolerating sin in your life and find the courage to turn away from it. Explore what it means to be "salt"—a preserving, healing influence in a world that desperately needs it. This episode will transform how you see sin and empower you to live with radical honesty and freedom.
Discover what true greatness really means in this transformative study of Matthew 18:1-4. When the disciples ask Jesus who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, He doesn't answer with a name—He calls a child forward. This episode explores how Jesus completely redefines greatness, measuring it not by power, achievement, or recognition, but by humility, awe, and childlike wonder. Learn why the world's definition of success is backwards and how to reclaim the openness, trust, and sense of wonder you may have lost. Through contemplative meditation and practical reflection, discover what it means to be childlike—not childish—and how approaching God and life with the awe of a child is the pathway to true greatness in God's kingdom. This episode will revolutionize how you measure success and what you pursue.
Discover the transformative power of trust and generosity in this unique study of Matthew 17:24-27. When tax collectors demand payment, Jesus sends Peter fishing—and tells him he'll find a coin in the first fish's mouth. This episode reveals a profound truth: God owns everything, yet He invites us to participate in His provision. Learn why giving isn't about God's need, but about our transformation and growth in trust. Explore how Jesus involves us in miracles, not because He lacks resources, but because He wants us to experience the joy and freedom that comes from trusting His provision and giving generously to others. Through contemplative meditation and practical reflection, discover where God is inviting you to give—not from obligation or guilt, but from a heart that truly believes He provides. This episode will revolutionize how you think about money, generosity, and your role in God's kingdom.
Transform how you face your struggles by shifting your perspective in this powerful study of Mark 9:30-32. Jesus tells His disciples about His coming death and resurrection, but they can't understand because they haven't yet witnessed it. This episode explores how perspective changes everything—the disciples lived before the resurrection, but you live after it. Discover how to see your current circumstances, fears, and worries through the lens of Christ's victory and reign. Learn why anxiety and confusion lose their grip when you anchor your hope in the One who has already conquered death and sits in authority over all things. Through contemplative meditation and practical reflection, find the freedom to release fear and embrace the joy and peace that comes from knowing Jesus has already won. This episode will equip you to face your greatest challenges with resurrection confidence.
Discover the power of honest faith in this transformative study of Mark 9:14-29. Jesus meets a desperate father whose son is possessed by an evil spirit, and the father cries out one of Scripture's most authentic prayers: "I do believe; help my unbelief!" This episode explores what it means to have faith mixed with doubt, to believe and struggle at the same time. Learn why Jesus doesn't demand perfect certainty but welcomes radical honesty about our fears, disappointments, and questions. Through contemplative meditation and vulnerable reflection, discover how to bring your mixed faith—your belief tangled with unbelief—directly to Jesus without pretense or spiritual performance. Find freedom in admitting that you want to believe but are struggling, and experience how Jesus meets us not with judgment, but with healing power. This episode will transform how you pray and how you understand what real faith actually looks like.
Discover how God fulfills His promises in unexpected ways in this transformative study of Mark 9:9-13. Jesus reveals that Elijah has already come—in the person of John the Baptist—challenging our assumptions about how God works. This episode explores the tension between our expectations and God's reality, examining why the forerunner came in humility rather than power, and why the Messiah walked toward a cross instead of a throne. Learn how God's promises are always fulfilled, but rarely in the way we imagine. Through contemplative meditation and honest reflection, discover what expectations you're holding onto and find the freedom to trust Jesus even when His way looks completely different than you planned. This episode will transform how you recognize God's work in your life.
Experience the transformative power of Jesus' glory in this deep dive into Luke 9:28-36 and the Transfiguration. Discover what it means to witness God's glory firsthand and why our calling is to listen to Jesus rather than hold onto spiritual experiences. This episode explores Peter's instinct to build shelters and challenges us to release control of our mountaintop moments. Learn how to follow Jesus down from the mountain into the ordinary, the difficult, and the unknown—trusting that He remains glorious even when we cannot see His glory. Through contemplative meditation and practical reflection, find the courage to let go of what was and listen for what Jesus is saying now.

Drawing near to God in Spiritual meditation without mysticismMysticism, in its non-biblical sense, often promotes a subjective, experiential pursuit of spirituality that focuses on self, hidden knowledge, or union with the divine through hidden knowledge or unmediated means. This approach is fundamentally at odds with biblical meditation, grounded in God's Word, faith, and the revelation of the Messiah. When I was first introduced to the concept of meditation, I immediately wrote it off as not being for me. I thought I was too much of a fast-paced go-getter to let meditation slow me down. But when I finally decided to give it a try (after discovering that other high-achievers attributed much of their success to meditation) it changed everything for me.This week, Caitlin and I share our personal experiences with meditation and highlight the transformative effects and benefits of finding a practice that works for you. Our conversation extends beyond traditional meditation, touching on alternative spiritual practices such as ayahuasca and psilocybin use. As we explore various paths to spiritual enlightenment, we underscore that the main goal is to create space between thoughts, leading to enhanced clarity and decision-making.

We'll be adding new rooms, unlocking new doors, and growing so that our spirit and connection can as well. A seed will only grow as big as the pot it's in. So we'll need to push the boundaries in our minds and allow more room for spirit and communication with our higher selves.Buy The Soul Spill: www.thesoulspill.com Join the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/toridealingwith
