Mike's work centers on a topic many people do not think about until something feels wrong: the health of the indoor spaces where we live, sleep, work, and recover. From mold exposure and indoor air quality to water filtration, hydrogen water, toxins, detoxification, and everyday lifestyle choices, this conversation looks at the hidden environmental factors that may be shaping how people feel. Stephanie and Mike talk about why modern homes can trap moisture, mold, chemicals, and contaminants, and why some people may experience symptoms even when others in the same home feel fine. Mike also shares practical starting points for listeners who are concerned about mold, including simple ways to observe symptoms, test the home, check humidity levels, and begin asking better questions. The conversation then moves into water quality, including city water, well water, reverse osmosis, distilled water, fluoride, chlorine, heavy metals, glyphosate concerns, hydrogen water, and why Mike believes clean air and clean water are foundational pieces of wellness. Mike also shares more about his own path into environmental health, chiropractic circles, faith, fasting, and the idea that healing often begins when people step outside of the systems that keep them sick and start taking responsibility for what is in their home, their water, their air, and their daily routine. This episode is meant to inform, encourage curiosity, and offer practical starting points. It is not a replacement for medical care, environmental testing, mold remediation, or personalized health advice. If you are dealing with mold illness, chronic symptoms, detoxification concerns, fasting, water contamination, or major health changes, work with qualified professionals who can evaluate your individual situation. In This Episode, Discover Why Mike Dillon believes indoor wellness is an overlooked part of health How modern homes can trap moisture, mold, and airborne contaminants Why mold exposure may affect one person in a household more than another Common symptoms people may associate with mold toxicity Simple first steps for checking whether your home may be contributing to symptoms Why bathrooms, HVAC systems, and humidity levels matter How to think about mold testing and remediation before spending thousands of dollars Why Mike recommends identifying the problem before starting a detox protocol The importance of choosing supplements and wellness products carefully Why water quality matters for adults, children, bathing, and daily exposure How to use public water data as a starting point for understanding contaminants The difference between legal limits and safe limits in water quality What hydrogen water is and why Mike believes it can support wellness The difference between hydrogen water, alkaline water, reverse osmosis, and distilled water Why pipes, plastics, fluoride, chlorine, heavy metals, and other contaminants matter Mike's journey through chiropractic, environmental wellness, faith, and service The role of prayer, fasting, movement, clean air, clean water, and lifestyle choices Why becoming more aware of your home environment can be a powerful first step Stay Connected & Explore Learn More About Mike Dillon and Airwater Healing: Airwater Healing: https://www.airwaterhealing.com/ Use coupon code DRSTEPHANIE at checkout for 10% off your purchase. Ian Clark is the CEO of Activation Products, a business built to inspire people to strive for perfect health. At 46, Ian's health started to unravel completely — he had a large tumor near his colon and prostate, significant heart disease, and his liver went off the rails. He was also coming out of a business bankruptcy at the time. He was told he had roughly 1,000 days left to live. He asked his doctor to hold off on surgery for three months and gave himself that time to find a natural path. He started researching everything he could on nutrition and superfoods, completely changed his diet, and began rebuilding from the ground up. He is also the host of the show Younger Than Yesterday Podcast, available everywhere podcasts are found. Registered dietitian nutritionist Leyla Muedin discusses the growing interest in biological age versus chronological age and explains that biological aging is modifiable through consistent lifestyle choices. She outlines common measurement tools and biomarkers, including epigenetic clocks (DNA methylation), telomere length, VO2 max, inflammatory markers, grip strength, and muscle mass, noting that genetics account for only about 25–40% of biological aging variation. Key interventions include regular aerobic and resistance exercise, protein-adequate nutrition to preserve muscle and prevent sarcopenia (with whey protein and leucine-rich foods noted), improved sleep, stress management, reducing processed foods and visceral fat, and lowering chronic inflammation (CRP, IL-6). She also reviews hormetic stressors such as sauna use and mentions red/near-infrared light and sun exposure without sunglasses. Leyla shares client examples showing biological age can worsen or improve, and encourages repeat testing after lifestyle changes.

Order My New Book, The Tired Dad In this episode of The Tired Dad & Tired Mom Podcast, we reflected on what life has looked like after the release of my book and the emotions that come with putting something so personal into the world. We talked about parenting, public speaking, and how becoming parents changes the way we see time, grief, success, and even ourselves. We had a deep conversation about the fleeting nature of childhood, the sacrifices that come with raising a family, and why connection and presence matter more than material things. We also talked honestly about relationships, expectations, balancing ambition with family life, and trying to find genuine human connection in a world that can often feel transactional. Later in the episode, we shifted into a conversation about health, breast cancer awareness, misinformation online, lifestyle choices, supplements, and the importance of critical thinking when it comes to medical advice. We wrapped up by discussing reading, lifelong learning, emotional intelligence, and the values we hope to pass down to our children. As always, thank you for listening and continuing to grow with us. The Elephant In The Room Property Podcast | Inside Australian Real Estate
For decades, the assumption was simple: by the time Australians reached retirement, the mortgage was gone. But that reality is changing fast.Today, more than half of Australians approaching retirement still carry housing debt—and it's reshaping how households think about superannuation, the Age Pension, and the role of the family home.In this episode, Veronica and Chris sit down with retirement specialist Harry Chemay to unpack the growing debt burden among pre-retirees and what it means for the next generation of retirees. They explore why the traditional “pay off the home before retirement” rule is breaking down, how rising property prices and refinancing behaviour have changed the way Australians use housing equity, and why more people are drawing down their super simply to clear their mortgage.Harry explains the financial trade-offs between paying off your mortgage versus preserving superannuation, and why this decision can dramatically affect long-term retirement cash flow. The conversation also dives into reverse mortgages, equity release strategies, the Age Pension means test, and why downsizing isn't always the straightforward solution many assume it to be.This episode challenges long-held assumptions about debt in retirement and highlights the need for better coordination between financial advisers, mortgage brokers, and retirement planners. Because in today's housing market, the biggest asset most Australians own—the family home—may also be the key to making retirement work.Episode Highlights01:13 – Meet Harry Chemay: Retirement and Wealth Strategy Expert01:55 – From Robo Advice Startup to Retirement Strategy Specialist03:33 – Why More Australians Are Reaching Retirement With Mortgages08:46 – Generational Shifts, Lifestyle Choices and Mortgage Refinancing10:36 – Why Retirees Are Using Super Withdrawals to Clear Housing Debt25:14 – The Trade-Off: Paying Off Your Mortgage vs Preserving Super26:22 – A Simple Cashflow Test for Retirees Carrying Mortgage Debt27:17 – Case Study: Super Withdrawal vs Equity Release Outcomes29:17 – Will Banks Start Lending More to Retirees and Older Borrowers?32:07 – Australia's $12 Trillion Housing Wealth Reality Explained38:55 – Downsizing vs Aging in Place: The Retirement Housing Debate42:04 – The Rise of New Retirement Living and Lifestyle Developments43:31 – Rising Homeownership Costs and Why Early Planning Matters46:20 – Rethinking Retirement Living: Building Your Own Community47:37 – A Real Family Story of Moving Parents Later in Life49:08 – Why Retirement Planning Needs a Holistic Advice Team52:12 – Final Takeaways on Retirement Debt, Super and HousingLinksThe growing debt burden of retiring AustraliansAbout the GuestHarry Chemay is a retirement and wealth specialist with nearly three decades of experience across financial planning, wealth management, asset consulting, fintech, and superannuation product design. Sexual addiction is often treated as a behavior problem. Stop the behavior. Remove the temptation. Try harder next time. But what if the behavior is not the real issue? What if the patterns that bring shame, secrecy, and self-sabotage are actually revealing something deeper about the story you carry? This week on Win Today, therapist and researcher Jay Stringer joins me to unpack the anatomy of sexual addiction and unwanted sexual behavior. Drawing from research involving more than 3,800 men and women, Jay explains why these patterns are rarely random and how the unresolved parts of our past often shape them. We talk about why shame keeps people trapped in destructive cycles, why curiosity is often the first step toward healing, and why grief has the surprising power to reshape what we desire. Sexual struggles are not simply moral failures to suppress. They can become a roadmap that leads us toward the healing we have avoided. If you are stuck in patterns you cannot explain, if shame has kept you silent, or if you've tried to manage the behavior without understanding the story behind it, this episode will help you see why real freedom begins with honesty. Guest Bio Jay Stringer is a licensed therapist, minister, and researcher who helps men and women understand and outgrow unwanted sexual behaviors. He is the author of the award-winning book Unwanted: How Sexual Brokenness Reveals Our Way to Healing, based on a multiyear research study involving more than 3,800 men and women exploring the roots of sexual addiction and compulsive sexual behavior. Jay is also the creator of the Sexual Behavior Self-Assessment and The Journey Course, a five-month program designed to help individuals identify and transform the deeper drivers behind destructive patterns. He holds an MDiv and a master's degree in counseling psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and completed post-graduate training under Dr. Dan Allender while serving as a Senior Fellow at The Allender Center. Retirement planning isn't just about crunching numbers and sticking to a tight budget—it's about envisioning what's truly possible for your future. These hypothetical scenarios, often overlooked by retirees, can do more than just safeguard your financial well-being; they can enhance your happiness and help you discover opportunities you never thought attainable. You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in... 05:16 Encouraging Big Thinking in Retirement 10:15 Planning for Early or Delayed Retirement 11:50 Philanthropy and Charitable Giving in Retirement 13:37 Identifying Risks in Retirement 15:05 Evaluating Large Purchases and Lifestyle Choices 16:04 Roth IRA Conversions and Pension Risks 19:59 Inflation and Cost-of-Living Concerns 26:54 Listener questions The Real Magic Behind "What-If" Many clients believe their retirement dreams are out of reach. People often compare themselves to others with larger pensions or savings, assuming they must settle for less. Yet, the crucial question isn't just "Do I have enough?" but "What would I do if I had more? What would bring me joy or meaning?" Posing these open-ended scenarios begins to reveal the true potential hidden in one's retirement plan. Seeing is believing. The process of actually mapping out these possibilities with a professional often surprises clients, making them realize some dreams are within reach. This mindset shift can allow people to start dreaming bigger. Longevity, Health, and Unexpected Events Retirement's uncertainties should never be ignored. It's important to stress-test a plan for premature death, forced early retirement, market downturns, or rising taxes. External factors—like Social Security reductions, inflation, or pension cuts—can also threaten retirement security. Running "what-if" simulations for these scenarios helps retirees build resilience and confidence. For example, what if Social Security benefits drop by 25% or unexpected inflation spikes? Understanding the impact empowers retirees to prepare rather than panic. Value-Driven Decisions Retirement is more than financial survival; it's about purpose and fulfillment. Many clients we work with aspire to "be a blessing" through charitable giving, family support, or simply living generously. Rather than focusing solely on accumulating wealth, retirees can explore scenarios to increase their positive impact in the world. "What if we wanted to be outrageously generous?" That question can reshape not just a financial plan but a legacy. Ultimately, retirement planning isn't about settling—it's about exploring, asking, and dreaming. Anyone can achieve a successful and meaningful retirement by strategically considering "what-if" scenarios and seeking guidance from professionals. By embracing possibility, you can pave the way for a retirement filled not only with security but with joy, purpose, and big dreams. Take control of your retirement vision today—because the magic happens when you ask "what if?" Parkinson's disease is rising rapidly worldwide, and most cases are driven by lifestyle and environmental stressors rather than genetics, meaning daily choices play a powerful role in risk and progression The disease often begins years before diagnosis, with early signs like poor sleep, digestive issues, anxiety, and fatigue signaling stress on your brain long before tremors appear Chronic inflammation, toxin exposure, poor sleep, and metabolic strain weaken dopamine-producing neurons, but improving sleep, movement, diet, and stress regulation slow this damage Supporting gut health, reducing exposure to environmental toxins, and maintaining steady energy through proper nutrition help protect your brain and preserve mobility and cognition Consistent habits that lower stress, improve sleep quality, encourage movement, and support vitamin D balance give your brain the conditions it needs to stay resilient over time

Dr. Martin Picard, PhD, is a professor of behavioral medicine at Columbia University and an expert on how our behaviors and psychology shape cellular energy production and rates of aging. He explains that your mitochondria don't just “make energy”; they translate what you do—your mindset and your relationships—into the energy you experience as vitality or lack thereof. He explains how exercise, nutrition, sleep, meditation, and even certain thought patterns and our sense of purpose can charge our cells like batteries. He also shares findings that hair greying is the result of cellular stress and is reversible. This episode links physical and mental ‘energy' with cellular energy and provides science-supported tools to improve your physical and mental health. Read the episode show notes at hubermanlab.com. In today's solo episode, I dive into the profound connection between biological aging, health, and consciousness through the lens of my own DNA test journey. I recently took a gold-standard DNA-based aging test to measure my biological age, and the experience led to a personal breakthrough I'm excited to share. I won't spoil the results here, but let's just say I was initially nervous to peek at the numbers – and what I discovered gave me a whole new perspective on my wellness journey. Why mix health and spirituality? As someone who transitioned from the fitness industry to facilitating healing retreats, I've seen firsthand that our body and spirit are deeply intertwined. In this episode, I share openly how taking care of my physical health (from diet and gut health to sleep and exercise) has been crucial for my spiritual growth and even my ability to stay calm and centered. Our health truly is the foundation that supports higher consciousness and a regulated nervous system. I also reflect on some emotional and ancestral healing experiences that have shaped me. Over the years I've worked on releasing deep-seated traumas (some that felt generations old) and felt the energy shift in powerful ways. By healing these layers and calming my nervous system, I've noticed incredible changes – including what might be a slower biological aging pace. It's a reminder that inner transformation and outer health go hand in hand. In my usual transparent style, I share all of these insights openly. I even talk about the humbling moment when my ego showed up and how facing the truth turned out to be deeply healing. Thank you for joining me on this personal journey. If something here resonates with you, feel free to leave a comment sharing your thoughts or your own experiences – I'd genuinely love to hear from you. Send us a textWipe Swap-Solar Panels & Salon BlowoutsPodcast Summary – Wife Swap S1 E1: “Overdressed and Underprepared”The series kicks off in Salt Lake City, Utah, where perfectionist housewife Angie Katsanevas (yes, the Real Housewife of Salt Lake City) runs a tight, glamorous ship with husband Shawn and daughter Elektra. Angie loves structure, control, and luxury — think salon workouts and spotless floors — while Shawn just wants her to relax and spend more quality time as a family.Across the border in Chalice, Idaho, we meet Lindsey Flake, who lives completely off-grid with husband Tanner and their three kids. They grow their own food, use solar power, and have no running water. After battling rheumatoid arthritis, Lindsey chose a simpler, self-sustaining life that restored her health and happiness. She hopes to show another family the beauty of unplugging — while her husband teases that she might not want to come back once she sees the fancy life. When Angie and Lindsey swap homes, chaos (and comedy) ensues. Angie arrives in the wilderness with a hat box and Givenchy boots, instantly declaring she's “overdressed and underprepared.” Meanwhile, Lindsey steps into Angie's chic Salt Lake home, confused by heated floors, endless beauty products, and a dishwasher that needs to be “knocked on.”As they follow each other's household rules, both women are pushed far outside their comfort zones — Angie learns to haul water, bathe outdoors, and bond with kids in nature, while Lindsey experiences salon workouts, daily glam, and the demands of perfection. Their rule changes bring heartfelt lessons: Angie sends Tanner out on a real date, and Lindsey ditches the glam to teach Shawn and Elektra the value of slowing down.By the end, both women are transformed. Angie learns that simplicity brings peace — she even tears up reflecting on it — while Lindsey realizes a little luxury (and indoor plumbing) isn't so bad. When they reunite, the respect between them is genuine. Angie calls Lindsey's life “humbling,” and Lindsey admits the swap was harder than she expected but life-changing.Both families end up blending a bit of each other's worlds — Angie starts gardening and spending more family time, while Lindsey occasionally enjoys a bidet and margarita moment.TakeawaysAngie's character is endearing and relatable.Living off the grid presents unique challenges. The contrast between urban and rural lifestyles is stark.Family dynamics play a crucial role in the narrative.Health and diet are significant themes in the conversation. The hosts share personal anecdotes related to the topics discussed.Humor is a key element in their discussions. The importance of appreciating nature is highlighted. The challenges of hygiene in off-grid living are concerning. The interactions between the families are heartwarming. In this episode of Beer and Money, Ryan Burklo discusses the contrast between small thinking and big thinking in financial planning. He emphasizes the importance of focusing on larger financial goals rather than getting caught up in minor savings habits, such as cutting out small luxuries like Starbucks. By analyzing the impact of lifestyle choices on savings and the power of incremental changes, Ryan illustrates how a small adjustment in spending can lead to significant wealth accumulation over time. He encourages listeners to adopt a big picture mindset to enhance their financial well-being. Check out our website: beerandmoney.net For a quick assessment of your current financial life go to: https://www.livingbalancesheet.com/lbsVision/lite/RyanBurklo Takeaways Small thinking focuses on minor savings, like cutting out Starbucks. Big thinking involves understanding the larger financial picture. Saving $50 a week may not significantly impact long-term wealth. A household income of $300,000 can lead to substantial savings if managed well. Incremental changes in lifestyle can have a dramatic effect on savings. A 1% difference in lifestyle spending can lead to millions in savings over time. It's essential to capture savings automatically to build wealth. The wealth building account can help manage finances effectively. Small adjustments can lead to significant financial outcomes. Thinking differently about money can change your financial future. In this episode of the Raving Patients Podcast, I sit down with dental CPA Travis Slade to talk about the financial clarity every dentist needs—but few actually have. We break down the five core financial drivers that impact your real income: revenue, overhead, debt, taxes, and personal spending. These aren't just accounting terms—they're the difference between feeling in control and constantly feeling cash-strapped. Travis shares insights gained from working directly in dental offices, and explains how most practice owners are in the dark about where their money goes. We dig into common traps—like inflated overhead, lifestyle creep, and taking on debt without understanding the long-term impact—and give practical tips to help you make better decisions around hiring, investing, and personal budgeting. This episode will help you assess your financial health, calculate your true break-even point, and set goals that actually move the needle. If you're serious about building a practice that supports the life you want, this is one you don't want to miss. Here's what we talked about in this episode: The five financial drivers that actually determine your take-home pay Why revenue can be a misleading metric if you don't track overhead and debt Ideal overhead breakdowns (including wages, supplies, marketing, and more) Understanding debt health: what's manageable and what becomes a liability The impact of personal spending on your stress, cash flow, and practice health How to strategically invest in marketing (and know if it's actually working) What your monthly break-even number really is—and why you need to know it Common financial traps dentists fall into and how to avoid them Travis's #1 piece of advice for financial stability and long-term growth — Key Takeaways 00:39 Introduction and Event Announcement 04:10 Understanding Financial Metrics for Dental Practices 05:31 The Five Financial Drivers of Dental Practices 09:40 Revenue: The Misleading Top Line Number 12:20 Overhead: Managing Practice Expenses 16:32 Debt Management in Dental Practices 22:07 Personal Spending and Lifestyle Choices 25:02 The Financial Matrix: Understanding Break Even 26:19 Common Financial Traps for Dentists 28:45 Marketing Investments and Financial Projections 30:28 Final Thoughts and Advice — Connect with Travis Want help decoding your numbers or figuring out your break-even point? Are you ready to tackle the unique challenges of wellness after 40? In this empowering episode of Salad with a Side of Fries, Jenn Trepeck hosts a comprehensive Q&A explicitly designed for women navigating midlife. From boosting energy to balancing hormones and thriving through menopause, Jenn covers it all, starting with a deep dive into key hormones like estrogen and progesterone and how they affect weight loss, energy, and fat distribution.Jenn explores the realities of menopause and perimenopause, including changes to the menstrual cycle, shifts in fertility, and the importance of protein for muscle and bone health. You'll learn how phytoestrogens may offer symptom relief, how gut health and the parasympathetic nervous system impact mood and nutrient absorption, and how better sleep can help reduce brain fog and fatigue. Whether you're adjusting your routine or looking for expert-backed tips to feel your best, this episode is packed with actionable advice to help you navigate midlife with confidence and clarity. The Salad With a Side of Fries podcast is hosted by Jenn Trepeck, who discusses wellness and weight loss in real life, clearing up myths, misinformation, and bad science surrounding our nutrition knowledge and the food industry. Let's dive into wellness and weight loss for real life, including drinking, eating out, and skipping the grocery store.IN THIS EPISODE: (01:19) Jenn shares her professional relationship with Christine(06:13) Jenn discusses estrogen, progesterone, fat removal and weight management(13:07) How age affects menopause, menstrual cycle, fertility and estrogen levels(19:45) What is the role of protein over 40, and how to maintain muscle and bone health(25:36) Discussion of hormones to support weight loss, energy, and phytoestrogens(30:46) Your gut, nutrient absorption, and the parasympathetic nervous system(36:24) Improving sleep quality and managing fatigue and brain fog. What about nap time(42:17) Discussion of signs and treatments for menopausal symptoms and supplements(48:13) Common health risks for women in their late 30s and 40s, and related medical tests(51:39) What ingredients are most effective for aging skin, adjusting the skin care routine(57:50) Reducing fine lines, wrinkles and age spotsKEY TAKEAWAYS:The challenge with weight loss after age 40 is primarily due to the decline of estrogen and progesterone production, which reduces insulin sensitivity, impairs sleep, and alters fat distribution, making fat removal (not just weight loss) slower and more difficult. Sustainable fat loss prioritizes health over rapid results.Low estrogen and progesterone levels can impact mood, sleep, and appetite, leading to an increased desire for comfort foods. Phytoestrogens (e.g., wild yam, black cohosh) and fiber-rich foods (e.g., cruciferous vegetables) support hormone metabolism and mood stability.Women over 40 need ~1 gram of protein per pound of body weight daily (4-6 ounces per meal, 2-3 ounces per snack) to maintain muscle and bone health. Resistance training, weight-bearing exercise, and minerals (e.g., magnesium) are critical.Low estrogen levels can cause skin dryness and wrinkles. Hydration, vitamin C, retinol, and hyaluronic acid improve skin appearance. Consistent skincare routines (cleanse, tone, treat, moisturize) reduce the appearance of age and Gua Sha massage may reduce menopausal symptoms like hot flashes.QUOTES: (06:25) "There is fast weight loss at any age, provided you don't care how long it lasts or what happens to your health." - Jenn Trepeck(08:20) "Estrogen, the presence of estrogen and increased estrogen when we're younger in life, keeps us more insulin sensitive. It keeps us more metabolically fit." - Jenn Trepeck(21:27) "We want to aim for a gram of protein for every pound of body weight." - Jenn Trepeck(27:01) "We have less wiggle room. That estrogen was our cushion and when you eliminate the cushion, you've got less wiggle room." - Jenn Trepeck(31:00) “Bottom line, your gut is responsible for nutrient absorption and communicating all over the body.” Jenn TrepeckRESOURCES:Become A Member of Salad with a Side of FriesJenn's Free Menu PlanA Salad With a Side of FriesA Salad With A Side Of Fries MerchA Salad With a Side of Fries InstagramHormones and Body Composition (feat. From inflammation and gut dysbiosis to screen-induced disconnection and hidden trauma, this is the ultimate roadmap for healing the modern brain. Could a single molecule be the difference between vibrant longevity and early decline? Dr. Andy Salzman—Harvard-trained physician, scientist, and creator of the first PARP1 inhibitor—joins Dave to reveal the real key to living longer, fighting disease, and maximizing your energy: NAD. This master molecule fuels your mitochondria, DNA repair, and cellular resilience, but here's the catch—it plummets as you age. That means more fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, and higher risks of disease. But what if you could stop the decline and even reverse it?
