There is a recent revival among men in the U.S, and with this comes relearning how to lead in the home. How can men follow Jesus' pattern of leadership? Humility, confession of sins, cultivating relationships, and sacrificing now for future investments are all important parts of leadership. Kevin interviews Chuck Black about this important subject. Chuck Black will also be at the Colorado Father Son Retreat in August of 2025. For more information on this life-giving event, visit coloradofatherson.com.This program includes:1. Chuck shares insights on defining moments in life, the impact of storytelling, and the significance of intentional parenting. The conversation emphasizes the need for parents to engage deeply in their children's spiritual education and the eternal significance of their efforts. Meet the Guest: Chuck Black, a former F-16 fighter pilot and tactical combat communications engineer, is the author of twenty-two novels, including the popular Kingdom Series, The Knights of Arrethtrae series, the Wars of the Realm series, The Starlore Legacy series, and Call to Arms: The Guts and Glory of Courageous Fatherhood. It was a chance encounter with a northern pintail drake that made Chuck Black's lifelong dream come true. That dream: to win the Federal Duck Stamp art contest and have his painting in the pocket of every waterfowl hunter in the country. Chuck's interest in the Federal Duck Stamp started as a youth growing up in Minnesota, where water-fowling is a religion and many of the legends of the contest call home. After nine failed tries to win the contest, on Sept. 16 a lifelong dream came true when he finally won the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service Federal Duck Stamp art contest. On this episode, we hear from Chuck about his quest to get his painting on the stamp and life as an artist in Montana.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Chuck Black is a former F-16 fighter pilot and currently is the president and general manager of a chemical injection automation company in the oil and gas industry. He has a degree in electrical and electronic engineering and served eight years in the United States Air Force. Chuck and his wife have six children and nine grandchildren. Chuck first wrote Kingdom's Edge to inspire his children to read the Bible with renewed zeal. Through his family devotions, he noticed that his children paid much closer attention when a story was told, such as a parable by Jesus. He began to write a parable of the life of Christ set in a medieval time period where swords, castles, and battles were all Biblically symbolic without the use of magic or wizardry. The response from his children was astounding. All of the sword fights and battle scenes are tastefully written so that parents do not have to be concerned. It is Chuck's desire to serve the Lord through his work and to inspire people of all ages to study the scriptures in order to discover the hope and love of a truly majestic King and His Son.
