Episode Description:In this powerful exposition of John 1:6-13, Pastor Ben Smith unpacks the profound truth that salvation is through faith alone in Jesus Christ—a faith that is itself a gift from God. Continuing through the prologue of John's Gospel, this sermon reveals how God has graciously provided both the testimony to and the way of salvation. In this message, you'll discover:God Provides for Salvation Through a Preceding Witness (vv. 6-8) Pastor Ben examines the God-ordained ministry of John the Baptist, the final Old Testament prophet sent to bear witness to the coming light of Christ. This section traces the faithful line of witnesses God provided throughout redemptive history—from the promise given to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3, through Abraham, David, and the prophets—all testifying to the coming Messiah. The sermon emphasizes that these witnesses were both a gift of God and a ministry to mankind, graciously preparing hearts to believe in Jesus.God Provides for Salvation Through the Revelation of Truth (vv. 9-11) This section reveals Jesus as the true light—not merely a reflection or testimony, but the full revelation of God Himself. Pastor Ben addresses the sobering reality that the world did not recognize or receive the light when He came. Drawing on 2 Corinthians 4:4 and Luke 4:17-18, the message explains spiritual blindness and why proximity to the light does not equal saving faith. Only in Jesus, the true light, is salvation and eternal life found.God Provides for Salvation Through the Work of Jesus (vv. 12-13) The sermon reaches its climax with the glorious truth that God gives the right to become children of God to all who receive and believe in Jesus. Pastor Ben carefully unpacks verse 13's three negative statements—denying salvation by blood, by the will of the flesh, or by the will of man—followed by the definitive declaration: salvation is "of God" alone. This section powerfully demonstrates that regeneration and saving faith come by God's sovereign authority and power, not human effort or religious achievement.Key Theological Themes:- Salvation by grace alone through faith alone- The role of John the Baptist as witness- Jesus as the true light and full revelation of God- Spiritual blindness and the need for divine intervention- God's sovereignty in salvation and election- The new birth as a work of God's power- The danger of substituting human effort for genuine faithMemorable Illustration: Pastor Ben concludes with a compelling historical illustration from Napoleon's 1812 invasion of Russia, where the French army's tin buttons—a cheap substitute for authentic materials—disintegrated in the brutal cold, leaving soldiers exposed to deadly temperatures. This vivid analogy powerfully demonstrates how substitutes for genuine, God-given faith may appear sufficient temporarily but will ultimately fail under the weight of eternity.Who Should Listen: This sermon is essential for anyone seeking to understand the biblical doctrine of salvation, the nature of saving faith, and God's sovereign grace. It's particularly valuable for those struggling with assurance of salvation, anyone tempted to rely on religious performance or heritage, and believers who need to be reminded that salvation is God's work from beginning to end. Perfect for personal devotion, small group discussion, or theological study.Scripture References Include: John 1:6-13, Genesis 3:15, Genesis 12, 2 Samuel 7, Luke 16:16, Isaiah 61:1-2, Luke 4:17-18, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Isaiah 9:2, Ephesians 1:4, 2 Timothy 1:9, John 6:37, Romans 3:23Whether you're a new Christian or a seasoned believer, this message will deepen your understanding of God's gracious provision for salvation and strengthen your confidence that salvation rests entirely on God's faithful work, not your own efforts.

In this powerful message, I share a word the Lord gave me titled “Wrestling with the Tension of Becoming.” If you remember we shared on the  ⁨@EatDontCompete⁩  podcast a teaching on the same title, but let's just say this was a bit more in-depth. Drawing from Genesis 32:24–30, we follow Jacob's wrestle with God—his identity shift, his name change, and the tension that shaped his destiny. This message is for anyone who feels the weight of transition, transformation, spiritual tension, or the struggle between who you were and who God is calling you to be. I walk through: What are you really wrestling with? Have you encountered God in the middle of your tension? Does your tension hold a blessing? Has your name changed—but you're still answering to the old one? Are you walking in your spiritual birthright? I also share my own origin story—my childhood, abandonment, adoption, rebellion, endurance—and how God used every tension in my life to shape the call on my life. This message is both instructional and testimonial, a reminder that God still uses the least likely and builds miracles from messy beginnings. If you've ever wrestled with identity, calling, surrender, or transformation… this message will speak to you. God is still changing names, shifting destinies, and calling His people to become everything He ordained. Key Scripture: Genesis 32:24–30 Supporting passages: Genesis 25 • Genesis 28 • Genesis 35 • Genesis 46 • Genesis 27:36 • John 3 • John 17 • Galatians 3 Main Themes: – Wrestling with God – Spiritual tension – Identity in Christ – Name change in scripture – Birthright vs blessing – Calling, purpose, destiny – Transformation and spiritual growth – Becoming who God has called you to be   If this message blessed you, share it with someone who is in a season of becoming.

Welcome to this episode of our “Identity in the Battle” series, based on an exploration of Ephesians 6:10-13. The focus is on understanding our identity as followers of Christ and what it means to engage in spiritual warfare by putting on the full armor of God. We invite you to consider purchasing the accompanying workbook here: https://www.gospelspice.com/identity  Let's break down the main themes and lessons from this episode: Context: Our Identity and the Reality of Battle Stephanie begins by grounding us in the overall theme of the series: Identity in the Battle. She reminds listeners that Paul's letter to the Ephesians moves from teaching about who we are in Christ (chapters 1-3) to how we act because of our identity (chapters 4-6). As Paul closes his letter, he introduces the imagery of spiritual armor, summarizing the main points and equipping believers for spiritual warfare. Paul's message isn't just for specific groups—it's for everyone who claims Christ, regardless of gender, age, or role. If you are in Christ, you are called to be a warrior, not fragile china hidden away. This call is universal across the body of believers. Understanding the Battle Paul urges us to "be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power,” highlighting that our strength comes not from ourselves, but from being in Christ. This is not a battle for our salvation—Christ has already won that war on the cross—but a fight for our effectiveness and witness as believers. Satan cannot take our salvation, but he can undermine our impact if we're unprepared. Stephanie emphasizes that the true battle is spiritual—not against flesh and blood, but against unseen spiritual forces. Personal struggles, relationship challenges, or internal battles are surface-level; behind them is a deeper spiritual conflict. Recognizing this shifts our focus from blaming people or circumstances to standing guard against spiritual opposition. Equipping Ourselves: The Armor of God Paul uses two key actions: “put on” and “take up” the full armor of God. At salvation, we “put on” this armor permanently (sealed with the Holy Spirit), but we must also “take it up” daily, making a conscious choice to stand firm each day. The armor equips us to resist the devil's schemes, knowing the victory is assured through Christ. Stephanie illustrates that we should not wait until the enemy is upon us to prepare; the armor must be worn in readiness. Just as Roman soldiers were only as effective as their preparation, so we must be spiritually ready. Our Posture: Standing by Kneeling The repeated exhortation from Paul is to “stand.” Stephanie challenges us to see that the only way to stand against spiritual attacks is first to kneel before God in submission. Standing in the Lord's strength means a posture of dependence on Him, not self-reliance. If we kneel to God, we can stand against the enemy. If we refuse, we risk kneeling to the enemy by default. Victory and Intentional Living Finally, know that the war is already won. Satan has lost, though he fights to claim small victories day-to-day. We cannot lose our salvation, but we must fight to maintain our effectiveness. The invitation is to daily put on the armor, resist the enemy, and live out our victorious identity in Christ—standing firm in faith and ready for spiritual battle. Takeaway: As a believer, you are a spiritual warrior. Your true battle is not against people or circumstances, but against spiritual forces seeking to undermine your effectiveness. The key to standing strong is daily surrender to God, putting on His armor, and living confidently in the victory Christ has secured. ----- IDENTITY IN THE BATTLE WORKBOOK ------ You have the option to go beyond listening to this series, and to participate actively. Welcome back to The Life Unveiled Podcast! In this episode, J. White leans into the idea of building faith that doesn't flinch—faith that stays rooted when things feel slow, uncertain, or completely unclear. We often hear about “walking by faith,” but what happens when the walk feels like a standstill? When doors don't open, answers don't come, and momentum slows, it's easy to let fear or frustration shake what you believe. But unshakeable faith isn't built in comfort—it's built in the waiting, the tension, the moments when God is quiet but still present. In this powerful and honest conversation, we'll explore: • What it really means to have unshakeable faith—not just in words, but in practice • Why we confuse inactivity with trust and how to tell the difference • How to keep building when you can't see the full vision • The tension between surrender and bold action • How perfectionism and fear often hide under the mask of “waiting on God” • Spiritual maturity in silent or slow seasonsThis episode is for anyone who feels like they're doing everything “right” but not seeing movement. It's for the one who's afraid to admit they're discouraged. It's for the believer who wants to trust deeper but struggles when timelines don't match expectations.J. White shares encouragement, real-life reflections, and practical takeaways to help you reframe what it means to have faith that holds firm. This isn't surface-level inspiration—it's truth for your soul.Key Scripture:Hebrews 12:28 (NLT) – “Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.”Listener Challenge:What area of your life feels unsteady right now? 1 John 2:27  //  As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. We carry and cultivate the anointing. How much of the presence of God do I carry in my life? Do we lean on our ability or His? Exodus 28:2  //  Make sacred garments for your brother Aaron to give him dignity and honor. Dignity and Honor are things you put on. Exodus 28:36-37  //  Make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD. Fasten a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban; it is to be on the front of the turban. The first thing the priest put on was a gold turban – a crown with a huge gold plate on it written “Set apart holy unto the Lord” 1. The Crown of Holiness over my Mind. Integrity 3 TYPES OF MAN: Natural man – one without God Spiritual man – thinks about God Carnal man – mixture between the two “Holy to the Lord” My thoughts have to be holy To make a difference, we have to be different. Exodus 28:29-30  //  Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he will bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of decision as a continuing memorial before the LORD. 2. The Breastpiece of Relationships over my Heart. You are where you are because of the people in your life We must have a pure heart to carry the anointing Few things affect the anointing in my life more than my feelings about other people. Who do you need to forgive? Exodus 28:39  //  Weave the tunic of fine linen and make the turban of fine linen. Breathes 3. The Undergarment of Rest over my Life. Sabbath Exodus 28:31, 33-35  //  Make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth… Make pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn around the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them. The gold bells and the pomegranates are to alternate around the hem of the robe. Aaron must wear it when he ministers. The sound of the bells will be heard when he enters the Holy Place before the Lord and when he comes out. 4. The Garment of Praise in my Spirit. Isaiah 61:1-3  //  The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. The key to joy is gratitude. Can contemplating death inform a better life

According to Chaplain Devin Sean Moss, death “informs how we live.” The idea of impermanence —the notion that everything is in a constant state of flux— and a “meditation on finitude,” Moss suggests, is a  “cheat code of sorts to making deliberate and intentional decisions and forces the hand of what are my values…to know what my core is about.”    For most people,  the subject and contemplation of death and dying is hardly a source of inpiration. We fill our lives  with work, travel,  and spending time with friends and family. These are life affirming activities to keep our minds from wandering too far down to our inevitable end.  For Devin Moss, confronting death has been both equally a sobering  and inspiring journey. As a Humanist Chaplain, Devin Moss forged a year-long bond with Phillip Hancock who was executed by the state of Oklahoma for a double murder. Moss’s experience was chronicled by the New York Times and the subject of an earlier Life Examined. More: Facing death without God: Spiritual care in the final hours of a death row inmate Today, Moss writes and hosts the podcast The Adventures of Memento Mori in which he explores the science, mysticism, culture, and mystery of death. Moss regularly grapples with his own mortality and says its a mistake for our culture to shy away from the topic - “the inability to talk about it on a societal level has very harmful byproducts.” Moss suggests that the message society perpetuates is that there is a misunderstanding of what it means to be finite, and that “everything is limitless.”   And when it comes to death itself, Moss urges listeners not to be deterred by fear or not knowing what to do or say. “Just be okay with the unknown and do all that you can do to make it about the other person, to heck with being good at it or knowing what you're doing.” For Moss, it’ss “the ability, not what I can learn from this person as they pass, but more like, how can I ensure that their passing is maintained as a sacred act within a sacred space.”  Delve deeper into life, philosophy, and what makes us human by joining the Life Examined discussion group on Facebook.

It's all summed up in what he describes as the Principle of the Here-and-Now.

Devin Sean Moss, humanist chaplain, writer, and host of The Adventures of Memento Mori podcast, discusses belief, prayer, and his role as a chaplain providing spiritual care. Throughout 2023, Moss provided support and counseling to Phillip Hancock , a death row inmate, before and during his execution by the State of Oklahoma. Moss reflects on his interactions with Hancock, delving into the significance of compassion, prayer, and the unique challenges posed by Hancock's explicit rejection of the Christian faith.  “He was a fascinating human, incredibly smart,” says Moss. “He had the Bible practically memorized and I think he struggled with faith. I really do believe that he wanted to believe, but knowing what he had gone through his entire life, I can completely see why one in his position would not believe.”

Thank you for catching up with us! This audio is of the sermon on "This Is War: Preparing for Battle" **Summary:** Pastor Roberto Chaple's sermon titled "Preparing for Battle" emphasizes the spiritual warfare that occurs both within and around us. He highlights the importance of being alert to spiritual forces, taking up spiritual weapons, and considering the spiritual implications of our decisions and words. The sermon draws from Ephesians 6:12, emphasizing that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against dark spiritual powers. Pastor Chaple traces this battle back to the ancient conflict between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan, emphasizing that every individual is involved, and there are no neutrals in this war. The sermon underscores the battlefield as the mind, emphasizing the need to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. Pastor Chaple identifies Doubt, Deceit, and Disobedience as harmful spiritual weapons, contrasting them with faith, truth, and obedience. He advocates for preparing for this battle by putting on the full armor of God, each piece carrying spiritual significance. The sermon concludes with a call to assess our spiritual posture and ensure we are fully equipped for the ongoing spiritual battle. **Keywords:** - Spiritual warfare - Ephesians 6:12 - Kingdom of God - Kingdom of Satan - Rebellion of angels - Mind as command center - Doubt, Deceit, Disobedience - Armor of God - Belt of truth - Breastplate of righteousness - Shoes of gospel of peace - Shield of faith - Helmet of salvation - Sword of the Spirit - Spiritual posture - Stand firm - Full armor of God - Spiritual readiness - Evangelism - Church as a spiritual army - Memorization of Scripture - Spiritual preparation If you'd like to watch our full worship experience live, visit our Online Campus, go to findnewhope.online.church We're live Sundays at 9:00 am EST for our Traditional Service, at 11:00 am EST for our Modern service. In this episode, Glenn and I talk about the brave pivot he took in a few areas in life to find more happiness. This is an episode I think so many will be able to relate to. Glenn took a hard and honest look at his long-time career as a gym owner and youth performance coach, he asked, is this still fulfilling me? Am I excited to get up in the morning to go to work? The answer was "not anymore"... So one decision after the other he made the pivot to become a health coach, where he helps busy parents find fitness, health, happiness, and that winning feeling again. He now bounces out of bed in the morning to serve his clients and is very happy coaching in this way now.  Another huge topic we get into is his spiritual journey. Glenn has always had a bright energy and a big spirit and last year something else began knocking at his door to discover. He went from having so many questions about spirit, chakras, and god, to manifesting a beautiful community where they showed him a way and welcomed him with open arms. So we get into this story and how he operates now having discovered and connected to god.    Here are some ways that you can connect with Glenn and get some of his free content to see what he is about. When creating it, I thought, “What is medicine for me? What are the things that truly light me up?” And the answer was clear, and vast… anything spiritual, connecting to the divine, plant medicine, the wonder of nature, and people's journeys through the dark night of the soul to rediscover their self, truth, and light. This is a place where we can go soul to soul, to share stories, lessons, wisdom, and laughs... to empower and enlighten our journeys as we talk each other home.   Thank you for your time and energy, Talk Soon,

In our series, The Word of God, we have been looking into the importance of getting back to reading our Bibles again. We have seen that the word of God is likened unto many things to show us the side effects of not having that daily relationship with the Word. We saw it is likened unto food, water, air, love among other things and today, Spiritual sight. How long can one be expected to make it without eating, drinking, breathing or seeing? You will never be able to understand the Bible if you simply look at it with natural sight. Spiritul blindess is robbing us from understadning. Lets talk about it.

This single prayer triggered an unanticipated kundalini awakening; a spiritual activation that unlocked Zofia's gifts as an intuitive, healer, and mystic changing her life completely.
