Ryan Fitzgerald started his career as a saxophonist, faking his way onto a cruise ship gig and eventually becoming a cruise director. He transitioned to corporate roles with Carnival and Princess Cruises, managing brand partnerships and global entertainment. Now, as Executive VP of Sea Production at RWS Global, Ryan combines innovation, immersion, and improvisation to deliver world-class experiences across 40+ ships. Susan and Ryan talk about music, mentorship, and maritime magic. What You'll Learn About: How Ryan talked his way into a cruise gig as a musician—without fully knowing how to play all the instruments—and eventually mastered them! What it was like behind the scenes creating jaw-dropping cruise entertainment, from oversized Yatzhee to improved opera. How to adapt to challenges, like pivoting from a murder mystery to a jewelry heist experience due to some real-life, dark cruise drama. What the Super Bowl and super ships have in common. How to pack for your sea voyage, including why theme-night outfits can make or break your trip. If you loved Ryan's story and want more like it, please subscribe, share, and leave a review. U.S. Global Investors CEO Frank Holmes joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share an update on the company's Europe-domiciled airlines ETF, the U.S. Global Jets UCITS ETF, which has undergone a merger into the Travel UCITS ETF (TRIP). U.S. Global Investors acquired TRIP from HANetf, a leading provider of UCITS ETFs in Europe. It's important to note that TRIP is distinct from the U.S. online booking company TripAdvisor, which trades under the same ticker symbol (TRIP) on the Nasdaq. Holmes explained that TRIP aims to track the Solactive Travel Index, which includes publicly-listed companies operating in the travel industry, such as airlines, hotels, travel agencies, and cruise lines. The inclusion of cruise lines in TRIP reflects the broader global travel investment theme, making it a strategic addition to U.S. Global Investors' product lineup. According to data from the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), global cruise passenger volumes increased by nearly 7% from 2019 to 2023, with North America experiencing the strongest growth at 17.5%. This surge in demand for leisure travel has translated into higher revenues for cruise lines. In 2023, industry giants Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings collectively reported approximately $44 billion in trailing 12-month net sales, up from $38.2 billion in pre-pandemic 2019. The merger of U.S. Global Jets UCITS ETF into TRIP reflects the company's strategic approach to capturing opportunities in the evolving travel industry landscape, driven by increasing consumer demand and recovery from the pandemic's impact. #proactiveinvestors #usglobalinvestors #airline #travel #oil #jets #TravelETF, #Airlines, #CruiseLines, #StockMarket, #InvestmentStrategy, #QuantamentalInvesting, #PostCovidRecovery, #TravelBoom, #AirlineProfits, #TravelIndustry, #ETFMerger, #FrankHolmes, #CorporateStrategy, #InvestorInsights, #EconomicRecovery, #TransportationStocks, #StockAnalysis, #MarketTrends, #FinancialNews #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. This past week, the big news was there was a bear in the Magic Kingdom causing Frontierland to be closed for hours. Of course the memes were lit as well, our favorite being the Haunted Mansion meme. We're happy to say the golden Disney World 50th Anniversary statues are staying! Disney announced they plan to spend $60 billion dollars over the next 10 years in parks and on the Cruiselines. We're a bit skeptical. And Elemental's debut on Disney+ was very successful, becoming one of their most watched Disney premieres on Disney+ of all time. Disney has a number of iconic rides across their various properties. Rides that make you question how you could possibly convince the cast member to let you stay in the ride vehicle for your repeated riding pleasure. This week, it's those top-tier rides we're going to discuss. But we're not just discussing those rides that were put in recently. No. We're talking about the rides that stand out from the eras in which they were put in and in some cases, invented. Which Disney rides have the staying power to be put in the hall of fame? But don't just take it from us, this week we rounded up an Avengers of sorts of Disney creators to give their picks as well! A special thanks to our guests Clark(@mousemakerstudio), Julie from Double Your WDW Podcast (@doubleyourwdw), Becky from Disney in Your Day and Castle Dreams Travel (@disneyinyourday), and John and Bridget from Board Game Cantina(@boardgamecantina). This week, we interview #tabletop expert Simon Whitney from just outside of Stoke-On-Trent in the UK. After a very successful and lengthy career as UK hospitality Sales Executive for the well-known Villeroy & Boch brand, Simon found his position being made redundant. Now, during the current COVID-19 pandemic, Simon Whitney has just started his own sales agency representing V&B and others after the life-changing event that was no fault of his own. Add to those challenges, the UK has just now gone back into intense lockdown mode. So, we’ve been looking forward to catching up with Simon to talk about what life is like after redundancy and to learn more about his thoughts as he made his decision to start his agency. And, finally and most importantly, we want to learn about his plans for his agency and the brands he represents.
Shannon and Ogun are joined by the show's producer Derrick Weston to discuss apple cider, pumpkin carving, being open minded, and following the spirit of the law instead of the letter of the law.
