Alito told the WSJ: “I personally have a pretty good idea who is responsible, but that's different from the level of proof that is needed to name somebody…It was a part of an effort to prevent the Dobbs draft…from becoming the decision of the court. And that's how it was used for those six weeks by people on the outside—as part of the campaign to try to intimidate the court.” You can read the full interview here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/justice-samuel-alito-this-made-us-targets-of-assassination-dobbs-leak-abortion-court-74624ef9?mod=hp_opin_pos_2#cxrecs_s 4:10pm- In a report from Anna Phillips of The Washington Post, Governor Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers are prepared to make New York the first state to ban the installation of gas stoves in new construction projects. The US dollar's financial dominance is under siege from a uniquely bad combination of foreign and domestic policies, and Americans should be deeply concerned by the fallout if the dollar loses its 80-year reign as the world's reserve currency… If foreigners no longer want [dollars] for trade, central bank reserves, private wealth funds, and the official currency of about a dozen countries, all those dollars have nowhere to go but back to us in a flood like our country has never seen. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) screamed in the face of Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) over the need for new gun control legislation. Bowman referred to Republicans as “freaking cowards” and “gutless.” Rep. Massie attempted to engage civilly, suggesting that teachers and schools should be armed to dissuade would-be mass shooters. Massie noted that no school allowing teachers to carry a firearm has ever had a school shooting. Bowman dismissed the counter argument. 4:15pm- MSNBC seemingly glorified rioters who, on Thursday, forced their way into Tennessee's state capitol in Nashville, fighting on behalf of gun control legislation. While appearing on The Rich Zeoli Show earlier this week, John Yoo— the Emanuel S. Heller Professor of Law at the University of California at Berkeley & a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University—argued that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg does not have the authority to enforce federal criminal law. Yoo writes: “It is not even clear that Bragg could prove that the payment had anything to do with the campaign, as Trump could claim that he would have paid the hush money anyway to spare his wife and family from humiliation… Building Trump's prosecution on federal campaign law would breach a central principle of the Constitution's separation of powers… In the Trump case, Bragg would be interpreting and prosecuting a violation of federal campaign laws. In this, he would be acting contrary to the settled view of the U.S. Justice Department, which conducted its own probe and chose not to bring a prosecution.” You can read Yoo's full editorial, “Bragg's Case against Trump Has a U.S. Constitution Problem”, here: https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/03/braggs-case-against-trump-has-a-u-s-constitution-problem/ 6:20pm- Speaking with Sean Hannity on Fox News last week, Robert J. The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: While appearing on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo, Congressman James Comer (R-KY) suggested that Silicon Valley Bank's “quest for ESG [Environment, Social, and Governance] policies” may have played a role in its collapse. On Monday, President Joe Biden called the U.S. banking system “safe” and credited his administration's decisions—specifically guaranteeing all deposits at Silicon Valley Bank—for avoiding the contagion-like collapse of multiple banks. But didn't the Federal Reserve ultimately decide to bailout depositors? During her acceptance speech at Sunday's 95th Annual Academy Awards, Best Actress in a Leading Role Michelle Yeoh took a shot at CNN's Don Lemon for his comments about women of a certain age being “past their prime.” Dr. EJ Antoni—Research Fellow for Regional Economics in the Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to explain the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. Dr. Antoni debunks the Biden Administration's narrative that the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation are not bailing out depositors with taxpayer dollars. Will the decision to bailout SVB's “gross fiscal mismanagement” encourage other banks to take on risky investments, operating under the assumption that if things go wrong the federal government will step in and save the day?

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (03/13/2023): 3:05pm- Following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation announced they will guarantee all customer deposits—even those exceeding the FDIC's standard $250,000 per depositor guarantee. According to The Wall Street Journal, “[a] senior Treasury official said the steps didn't constitute a bailout because stock and bondholders in SVB and Signature wouldn't be protected.” Silicon Valley Bank had been the 16th largest bank in America with an estimated $175 billion in deposits, but after losing billions investing in long-term assets, customers attempted to withdraw an estimated $42 billion in deposits resulting in the bank's ultimate collapse. Read more about SVB's collapse here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/federal-reserve-rolls-out-emergency-measures-to-prevent-banking-crisis-ba4d7f98 3:30pm- Reason's Elizabeth Nolan Brown critiques the U.S. government's decision to guarantee all deposits with no limit—writing, “[f]or one thing, banks are themselves taxpayers. And in situations like this, the many institutions who act responsibly must bear the burden of bank fees in order to inoculate less responsible actors. Besides, these fees assessed on banks don't exist in a vacuum that only burdens big businesses; banks pass on the costs of regulatory compliance to customers in a number of ways. So, the idea that the government's bailout funds come from some sort of magical pool of consequence-free money is silly.” You can read Brown's editorial here: https://reason.com/2023/03/13/everyone-is-learning-the-wrong-lessons-from-the-silicon-valley-bank-collapse/ 3:40pm- Who is to blame for the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank? On Monday, President Joe Biden blamed the Trump Administration for “rolling back” the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, a federal law designed to regulate the nation's financial services industry. However, The New York Post notes that Barney Frank—the former Congressman for whom the bill is named—was a member of the Board of Directors at Signature Bank when it collapsed over the weekend. 4:00pm- While appearing on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo, Congressman James Comer (R-KY) suggested that Silicon Valley Bank's “quest for ESG [Environment, Social, and Governance] policies” may have played a role in its collapse. 4:10pm- On Monday, President Joe Biden called the U.S. banking system “safe” and credited his administration's decisions—specifically guaranteeing all deposits at Silicon Valley Bank—for avoiding the contagion-like collapse of multiple banks. And with over 500 homicides in Philadelphia in 2022, isn't the city inherently scary? Read more about Victor Fiorillo's editorial here:https://www.phillymag.com/news/2023/03/10/steve-keeley-fox-29/ 6:05pm- Andy Bloom—President of Andy Bloom Communications—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest editorial at Broad + Liberty, “Biden Plays the Blame Game.” Bloom documents the Biden Administration's instance to fault Donald Trump for everything that goes wrong. Bloom writes, “Biden has consistently blamed Trump for Covid deaths…Although largely ignored now, the Afghanistan withdrawal is one of Biden's biggest and deadliest disasters. At the time, Biden explained it was Trump's fault for making a deal with the Taliban. For some reason, THIS was the one Trump policy Biden was bound to and couldn't change. Although the last troops withdrew after the negotiated date, Biden still blamed Trump…When the Biden administration had to acknowledge that a Chinese spy balloon had penetrated U.S. airspace, they were quick to add that three prior incidents happened when Trump was president.” You can read Bloom's article here: https://broadandliberty.com/2023/03/09/andy-bloom-biden-plays-the-blame-game/ 6:30pm- While appearing on Fox News with Larry Kudlow, former Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers Kevin Hassett revealed that buyers were willing to “step in” and purchase Silicon Valley Bank. 6:35pm- While speaking with Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) on ABC''s This Week, host Martha Raddatz baselessly claimed the Trump Administration was responsible for the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. 6:45pm- Rep. The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 3: Dr. EJ Antoni—Research Fellow for Regional Economics in the Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to disprove several economic claims President Joe Biden made during Tuesday night's State of the Union Address. During his speech, Biden touted his economic policies, specifically the recent Department of Labor report indicating the creation of 500,000 jobs. However, as Dr. E.J. Antoni notes in his most recent Fox Business article, “once you account for employment rates, the labor market still has not recovered to pre-pandemic levels. The labor force participation rate and employment-to-population ratio have both remained stubbornly low, resulting in about 2.6 million fewer people working today, compared to pre-pandemic rates.” You can read Dr. Antoni's article at: https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/monthly-jobs-report-still-reliable-last-domino-fall A police officer was shot twice in West Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon. CBS3 is reporting the officer will undergo surgery at Penn Presbyterian Hospital and is expected to survive. We listen to a few clips from recent press briefings that seemingly support Hochman's hypothesis. Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders offered the Republican party's rebuttal to President Biden's State of the Union Address. Huckabee Sanders explained that the divide in our nation is no longer between “left and right” but between “normal and crazy.”

On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: As the White House touts its infrastructure law, traveling the country unveiling new projects, it is also continuing its steady push for expanding abortion access in the post-Roe era. Meanwhile, the United States, Germany and other NATO allies have taken a major step in boosting the war effort in Ukraine. Most lawmakers support the move, though some say NATO allies need to do more. And there was a call for justice across the country as protestor took to the streets this weekend following the release of a video showing 5 Memphis police officers beating 29 year old Tyre Nichols to death during a traffic stop earlier this month. Program Director for the Independent Women's Forum, Julie Gunlock, joins to share her reaction to what happened in Memphis. Recent economic reports have some economists drawing parallels to the days before the Great Depression. Sanchez baselessly accused DeSantis of forbidding the teaching of racism and slavery in public schools—critiquing the Governor's comprehension of American history. Ironically, Sanchez concludes his editorial by espousing the beliefs of historian Howard Zinn, a Marxist with a history of making unsubstantiated claims, and the Zinn Education Project—even revealing that he uses material from the Zinn Education Project in his lesson plans. Daniel J. Flynn of George Washington University documents Zinn's most outlandish history rewrites. For example, in “A People's History of the United States,” Zinn writes of America's founding: “certain important people in the English colonies made a discovery that would prove enormously useful for the next two hundred years. They found that by creating a nation, a symbol, a legal unity called the United States, they could take over land, profits, and political power.” Flynn notes Zinn completely rejects the idea America was founded on liberty and equality. Why is this being taught to kids in Philadelphia's public schools? While delivering a speech on Thursday, President Joe Biden made a joke about people thinking he's “stupid” mere moments before forgetting the name of a Congressperson in attendance.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (12/21/2022): 3:05pm- On Tuesday evening, the U.S. Senate advanced a massive $1.7 trillion spending package with a bipartisan 70 to 25-vote—less than one day after it was unveiled. At 4,155 pages, how was any Senator able to read the bill in its entirety before voting? 3:25pm- According to The Daily Wire, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) “requested at least 19 earmarks totaling more than $60 million in the $1.7 trillion bill.” Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) called the process by which the omnibus bill was advanced in the Senate an “abomination.” 3:40pm- Vincent Kolber—Chairman of RESIDCO, a transportation equipment leasing company—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his recent Wall Street Journal opinion editorial, “How Much Washington Really Owes: $100 Trillion.” Kolber writes that, according to calculations from the U.S. Treasury, “[t]otal liabilities were $34.8 trillion at the end of fiscal 2021. The Treasury reported assets at $4.9 trillion. Simple arithmetic brings us to the net position, negative $29.9 trillion. But this accounting leaves a lot out. Social insurance net expenditures calculates the difference between the expected future liabilities of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and similar programs over the next 75 years and the income these programs are expected to generate during the same period under current law. The Treasury reported these unfunded liabilities at $71 trillion at the end of fiscal 2021. That brings us to the alarming milestone. Add the net position of $29.9 trillion to the social insurance net expenditures of $71 trillion, and you find that they topped $100 trillion.” Read the full article at: https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-much-washington-really-owes-100-trillion-debt-social-insurance-expenditure-medicare-medicaid-treasury-11671571955?mod=opinion_lead_pos7 4:05pm- Justin Goodman—Senior Vice President for Advocacy & Public Policy at White Coat Waste Project—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss one silver lining of the $1.7 trillion omnibus bill: it will cut funding for foreign labs like the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Shouldn't he have thrown on a jacket and tie? 4:40pm- In a new Wall Street Journal editorial, journalist Simone Goa hypothesized that Chinese officials may suddenly be embracing less strict COVID lockdown policies because the government is “running out of money.” Gao calculates that the annual cost of “nucleic-acid testing” could potentially “exceed $240 billion.” 4:55pm- While speaking at a school board training event, Governor Ron DeSantis vowed to work tirelessly to get more conservatives elected to school boards throughout Florida. And what's our end goal? 6:00pm- If the Biden Administration is as committed to stifling Russian aggression as they claim, why aren't they doing more to expand the production of domestic oil? It would undoubtedly damage Russia's economy and limit their ability to spend militarily. 6:20pm- The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board noted that embedded within the 4,155-page omnibus bill is authorization to further empower the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)—specifically giving it expanded control over the cosmetics industry. 6:45pm- Senator Rand Paul released his own, hilarious version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

Trump never explicitly called for destructive protests. Could other politicians potentially be criminally punished for distasteful rhetoric? 4:35pm- While interviewing Texas Governor Greg Abbott on ABC, journalist Martha Raddatz stated that she has never heard Biden say the border is open but bizarrely accused Abbott, Donald Trump, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis of repeatedly saying the border is open—ultimately suggesting the three men are encouraging illegal migration. 4:40pm- On Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre referred to claims that the U.S. Southern border is open as “misinformation” being spread by smugglers and human traffickers. She refused to state whether the Biden Administration supported the court ordered end of Title 42—but, as one White House reporter noted, didn't the Administration initiate the legal challenge that led to the discontinuation of Title 42? 4:50pm- What's the worst Christmas song?
