I interviewed Dan Mace — the award winning director hired by MrBeast and Casey Neistat. The 3 time Cannes Lions award winning director left his career behind when @casey asked @DanMace to leave his career and come work for @368 — Neistat's creator startup. 4 years later @MrBeast did the same, hiring Dan as the Chief Creative Officer for @BeastPhilanthropy. In our interview, Dan breaks down what he learned from both Casey and MrBeast, his 4-step process for viral videos, and the brand new Bru Bar. First up, and most importantly, we're donating all the money the podcast makes this month to Black Lives Matter. We both support BLM and we think you should too. Now, on to our normal show notes... We have a lot of follow up about the Copper Stallion Media story. We didn't do a great job in our discussion of that last episode. Then we're talking about a lady who lost business due to supporting BLM and how she handled it (which was commendable). Central Camera in Chicago burns down and the owner says he's not mad about it. He's just mad about what happened to George Floyd. Then we talk about Shiftcam, BS with Dan Mace, drone deliveries, a 96 mph Mavic 2 Pro, and the Wedding Photographers who claim they need 1k subs to livestream a wedding. Beer Talk: Dustin - Puppy Slumber Party from Metazoa Brewing Steve - Keller Haze from Sun King Brewing Co. Q&A: What happened with Shoot and Share? If a beer falls on your MacBook Pro should you switch to iPad Pro? Is it rude to ask a DJ if they can refrain from using colored lights? Links: Lost business for supporting BLM. Central Camera burns down. BS with Dan Mace. Pro Grip by Shiftcam. Nikon no longer primarily a camera company. Changing the color of MiL's dress. Photogs need 1k subs. 96 mph Mavic 2 Pro. Scottish drones. Zipline drones. Episode art by Morgan Roberts of Morgan Roberts Weddings. If you're looking for more info about COVID-19, be sure to head over to the CDC website. Want more? I had a great weekend at Filmfort watching so many feature, documentary, and short films! It was especially interesting to me how some of the short films compare to the cinematic and episodic storytellers on YouTube like Peter McKinnon, Casey Neistat, and Dan Mace. Oh, you have to go see the feature films “Ham on Rye” by Tyler Taormina and “Mouthpiece” by Patricia Rozema when these are available–so good!www.jefferyoliver.com 3.25.2019 (C) Sunset Grove Media

Today we have a very special guest in the form of Chloe Ellis, our head of happiness and all-around creative genius. In this episode, we have a fantastic chat about some of our favourite YouTube creators and why, from Chloe's love of JackSepticEye to my admiration of Casey Neistat and Dan Mace. Two very different styles of YouTube creators, but both equally as talented.
