Recently, I've been feeling very inspired by listening to content from creatives outside the arts and crafts industries. A couple of weeks ago I watched the Project Iceman documentary produced by Yes Theory!, and I absolutely loved it, and keep mentioning in all sorts of conversations. It's one of those pieces of content that not only resonated with me, but it truly inspired and motivated me as a creative entrepreneur... which is why I want to share about it with you, in case you need the same kind of boost. In this episode we're talking about what Anders accomplished in Project Iceman mentally, and specifically what he accomplished despite everyone telling him he would fail. It's true: entrepreneurship isn't easy. Following your dreams and passions as a creative are not easy. And it isn't any easier when it feels like you don't have a proper support system around you. However, Anders proves to me that you can prove the naysayers wrong even if you don't have people believing in you. You can build your support system slowly, but what's going to be most important is your own belief in yourself and your determination to follow through. My goal with this episode is to pass along just a smidgen of the inspiration that I felt from this documentary. To remind you to pursue your dreams, even when it's hard, even when folks tell you it's not possible. Your journey is your journey, and your journey alone. It's ok if other folks don't get it. Keep crushing it, and I'm here cheering you on!-------Need more business and design resources and support? From discussing the awe-inspiring spectacle to sharing personal experiences and insights, they explore the magic of this celestial event. In addition to eclipse chatter, Bret and Riley reflect on their previous episode with guest Fredy, reminiscing on the engaging conversation and eagerly anticipating future guests. They delve into the intriguing topic of stereotypes, examining how Americans are perceived globally and the importance of breaking down cultural barriers through open-mindedness and understanding. Furthermore, the duo emphasizes the value of lifelong learning beyond traditional schooling, advocating for continuous education as a means of personal growth and empowerment. Drawing from their own experiences, they share practical tips and resources for expanding knowledge and skills outside the classroom. As the episode winds down, Bret and Riley inject some spontaneity by pulling cards from their Spark deck inspired by Yes Theory, igniting conversations and challenges that spark curiosity and adventure. In the recent past I started watching YT on my TV. Without being logged in-YT suggested a chanel that I started watching, and now have watched more than any other chanel EVER on that platform. Its called YES Theory. Their motto is Love Over Fear, and they fund their chanel with a clothing line that is also a motto of theirs: "Seek "Discomfort". (Its also a second YT chanel for them.) If you've listened to me before, you probably know I'm keen on COMFORT, not its antithesis. I was drawn in by the name Yes Theory, and find their origin story beauriful, as well as their willingness to share many stories of their lives. Maybe I'm just late to the party, and you already know Ammar, Thomas, Matt, Steffan, Tommy, and the gang. But if you don't already know them, listen to this letter to them about PARADOX, and then check them out. They are giving me reasons to push my boundaries on discomfort, and they are leading by example.

I'm already getting so many positive messages from so many of you who binged it (some of you in just a few hours!), and it's just the best. Alrigthty, here is a podcast I did about a month ago in Montreal with my best friend and co-writer of Talk To Strangers, Mr. Derin Emre. Derin is just the best. He doesn't hold back and in this one we go into where we went after leaving Yes Theory, what it was like tackling such a daunting project together, and our honest opinions about the book. Prepare yourself for one hell of an honest and hilarious conversation. Love you all!

Very few people have shaped Yes Theory as much as Tom. Yet no one outside of our inner circle knows about Tom. Tom is very private. He likes being behind the scenes. He's like Charlie from Charlie's Angels. Tom has also never done a podcast. So this is really really special…a moment I'll cherish for the rest of my life. We recorded this conversation a few months ago in his home of Brighton, UK. I think you're going to love it. -Matt PS - DECEMBER 3RD IS SO CLOSE. Two quick things: - We have a new book launch date: December 3rd - We will now be releasing two podcasts a week (Mondays and Thursdays) - With everything happening in the world, the guys and I want to give back financially to foundations focused on children affected by war. More on that soon. Alright, now this podcast… Ben and Dave, my two guests, are not only my close friends but also my biggest inspirations. When I was 19 I came across a show called The Buried Life. It was about four best friends (Ben, Dave, Duncan and Jonnie) crossing off their bucket list and helping others to do the same. The Buried Life became the seed and catalyst for Yes Theory, as you'll learn about in this episode and the book. Getting to sit down with them to do this was a dream come true. 19 year old Matt would be bugging out if he saw this :) I hope you'll get as much out of this conversation as I did. SO many gems!! Matt Dahlia (formerly "Matt Dajer") is the cofounder of Yes Theory, a YouTube channel and community centered around "seeking discomfort." In this interview, Matt opens up about quitting YouTube, struggling with anxiety, evolving his friendships, and going through spiritual growth. After growing a massively successful endeavour, Matt decided to leave Yes Theory to find himself. Before, Matt had placed all his worthiness and success on the outside from running an Iron Man to going on blind dates with girls. This is a story of going inward and understanding his essence; the reason for why he started in the first place. Now, Matt Dahlia finds himself on an evolving path and contemplating the wild journey alongside the Yes Theory founding members, Thomas Brag, Ammar Kandil, and Darin Emre. In recent years, Matt has seen a lot of change. He stopped appearing on Yes Theory adventures, began writing a book, and even changed his last name from "Dajer" to "Dahlia," like the flower. Join Matt Dahlia & Emilio Ortiz in a raw, honest conversation about where Matt is now, and where he is headed next. ⚡ PRE ORDER Matt's First & Newest Book: Talk to Strangers. Last week YouTube channel Yes Theory announced their course on becoming a YouTube creator and storytelling. During a live six-week bootcamp costing $349, students would get access to the live workshops hosted by the Yes Theory team, access to a community of creators, and personalised feedback from community members. Sounds reasonable right? Not according to many of the comments that poured in. One predicted this was the moment a video would be spawned titled: “When Yes Theory became No Theory”. In this episode, we talk about the marketing lessons we learned from this phenomenon. In this episode, we talked with Egyptian YouTuber Ammar Kandil, part of the channels Yes Theory and Seek Discomfort, discussing his rise on YouTube, leaving computer science behind for content creation, directing the documentary "Project Iceman", and hopes of one day winning an Oscar.
Credit yourself with Stir: https://www.usestir.com/credits It's every filmmaker's dream, $1,250,000 dollars to make the documentary you've always wanted. But Yes Theory said no. “Project Iceman” is a documentary about the man who completed an Iron Man Triathlon in the most dangerous place on earth, Antarctica. Even more impressively, this movie was funded entirely by the subscribers of the YouTube channel Yes Theory. We sat down with Ammar and his DP/Editor Victor. In our conversation, we explored how the editing process was challenging, how they prioritized emotion in their visual storytelling, and what this means for the future of YouTube filmmakers. You just heard Zack Honarvar talking about the moment he realized he needed to move on from the stagnant safety of his traditional finance company and forge his own path. Zack is now the founder of the management company One Day Entertainment, which powers the financial side of channels such as Yes Theory, Airrack, and The Cheeky Boyos. Beyond harnessing the power of multi million subscriber channels, Zack is also the co-founder of the influencer merchandise company Fan of a Fan and CEO of Creator Now, which is basically film school reimagined for the digital age. But before LA's creator scene, Zack was learning business the old fashion way: hustling Lunchables on the playground and operating alone at home from as early as four. And even before he was born, Zack's life was primed for practicality. Let's take a look at the story before Zack's story, one that paved the way for his unique balance of both steady utility and daring imagination. Why is Yes Theory so unique and relevant in 2022? It's the culture and courage they promote through the slogan 'Seek Discomfort' and what it makes others feel about that! Every time I think of why I started doing what I do, I feel so grateful that I scrolled through YouTube and saw a video by Yes Theory 6.5 Years Ago. I have come across thousands of YouTube channels after that but never came across a channel that inspires, moves, and makes people believe in them more than Yes Theory. It is through them that I have started exploring myself and getting out of my comfort zone. After a lot of struggle, Yes Theory released their most ambitious and inspiring project, Project Iceman featuring Anders Hoffman, the first-ever Iceman. And that is definitely a game changer for artists worldwide and will make them dream bigger and better. Right now when I post this, If there is a group that I'm grateful for apart from my family and friends, that would be Yes Theory, Ammar, Derin, Thomas, Matt, Thomas, and the Yes Fam. So, In this special episode of The Mallu Show, where we are back after a short break, Rizwan Ramzan talks about why Yes Theory matters to him so much! I would love to hear your genuine feedback. In a span of a couple days, Vittorio and I went from “hmm kinda wanna try snowboarding,” to sinking hundreds of dollars into gear and tumbling down the bunny hill on Cypress Mountain. In this (unintentionally comedic) conversation, Nick, Vittorio, and I reminisce on our season — from funniest memories, to biggest challenges, to everything falling face-first in snow taught us about grit, mastery, gratitude, and “Yes” theory, ultimately carving an unforgettable chapter of making the most of our twenties! || This episode features Nicholas Yee and Vittorio Chiu. When Eric Tabach, a YouTube host and producer for the channel Yes Theory, went to Ukraine, he didn't just want to create a video. He wanted to make a difference in the war. Eric grew up with ADHD in a Ukrainian family in Russia. He started college but then dropped out. Social media was calling. He became the mastermind behind huge viral videos for Buzzfeed, as well as his own YouTube and Instagram channels. Then he burned out, and it all came crashing down. In this episode, Eric talks about his life as an actor and YouTuber with ADHD. He shares how his need for external validation led to months of burnout before he found a new focus, part of which is helping the people of Ukraine. Listen in to learn about Eric's wild ride. And get his advice about making it on YouTube and social media. To find a transcript for this episode and more resources, visit the episode page at Understood. We love hearing from our listeners. I love listening to stories that require someone to take a chance and today's episode is packed with those. You'll hear from my friend, Ahmad Jabbir. He exhibits and embodies the phrase “bet on yourself.” One of my favorite stories he tells is how he pitched the CEO of Seek Discomfort, the apparel brand of the wildly popular YouTube channel, Yes Theory, to hire him for a job that wasn't even created yet. His one-of-a-kind interview got him an instant yes. This bravado would be impressive with anyone but Ahmad wasn't always this bold. Up through college, he was shy, lacked confidence, and thought he was stupid. But a few personal development projects changed everything for him. In one of his most recent projects, Ahmad set out to meet 100 strangers. He was blown away by the people he met and the stories he heard. We'll get into all of that and more in this episode. Show Notes: [1:17] Ahmad's go-to Toronto attractions [5:20] The story of Rob Lawless and how that impacted Ahmad to meet 100 people [15:27] how to make deep, meaningful relationship [19:55] How Ahmad landed his dream job at Seek Discomfort [31:48] Only take advice from people that you admire [37:18] Lessons learned from 700 days of journaling [54:07] How reading helped Ahmad learn the game of life better Mentions: People Yes Theory Bojana Corillic Jesse Itzler Books The Third Door: The Wild Quest to Uncover How the World's Most Successful People Launched Their Careers by Alex Banayan Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds by David Goggins The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business Paperback by Charles Duhigg Movies Yes Man More of Ahmad: Instagram: @Ahmad.Jabbir LinkedIn: Ahmad Jabbir More of Justin & The Struggle is Real: Show Notes: https://justinpeters.co/thestruggleisreal/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/justinleepeters/
"I always wanted to have this big impact, and to work on something that's changing the world"My guest today is Adam Boro. Adam is a magnificent filmmaker, who currently has over half a million followers on TikTok. You may have seen some of his mega viral videos, which include taking a girl to the north pole for a first date, randomly travelling to a desert oasis or his adventures in Machu Picchu. Prior to his recent infamy, Adam studied aerospace engineering, interned at NASA, and was even involved with YES Theory. Adam is a fascinating character, who for me seems to embody a kind of carpe diem philosophy - hell bent on living life to the fullest, and improving the lives of others in the process. But he wasn't always this way, and in this interview he is remarkably open about his struggles with anxiety, the challenges of being an online creator, and the various road bumps he's encountered on the journey to getting to where he is today. And all of this is done knowing full well that he's in the very early stages of his creative life. We get into all of this and more in this wonderful conversation. If you're someone who is curious about getting started in filmmaking, creating videos online, or can even relate to the feeling of not quite having found your crowd yet, I think you'll take something away from this conversation. Adam is awesome, I think he's someone to keep an eye on in the years to come.Follow Adam on Instagram/TikTok: @adamboroFollow me on Instagram/TikTok: @jack.lawroPatreon: patreon.com/jacklawrence

"My biggest recommendation is to just start" - Bryan Spunt on how to succeed as an entrepreneurI am thrilled to bring you today's episode with Bryan Spunt who is the CEO of Seek Discomfort, the Chief Smile Officer at the Big Smiles Program, and the third Shareholder at PopSockets. Seek Discomfort is a brand created by Yes Theory. For those of you who don't know, Yes Theory is a YouTube channel with over 7 Million subscribers started by three young guys (Thomas, Matt, and Ammar) who believe that life's greatest moments live outside of your comfort zone. Their goal is to help people get out of their comfort zone by saying yes to opportunity. Bryan is the CEO of their brand Seek Discomfort which is an amazing clothing company creating a tangible calling card to push your boundaries, overcome fear, and live a more vibrant life. Bryan and I met on the beach last summer in Santa Monica when some of my best friends and I spontaneously drove to LA to meet the guys at Yes Theory. We exchanged info and a month later we sat down to record this conversation. In this episode Bryan dives into his come-up story, how he found a love for business in high school, how he became the third shareholder in PopSockets as a Sophomore in college, and how he eventually found his current position as CEO of Seek Discomfort. We specifically discuss:How to succeed as an entrepreneurWhat skills do good entrepreneurs need? How can I become a successful entrepreneur? The importance of giving backLiving in the moment rather than the futureHow to find a career that combines passion, money, and purposeIs going to college actually worth it?Is going to college a waste of time?I am thrilled to share this episode with all of you! Since our conversation nine months ago, I connected Bryan with SeaTrees, a California based non-profit that I am the Youth Ambassador for, to establish a partnership with Seek Discomfort, through their Seeker Sustainability Program, so that Seek could become an OceanPositive company. OceanPositive is a term given to a company when they partner with SeaTrees. The certification is given when a company calculates their environmental footprint, then wipes it out through planting mangrove trees and reforesting kelp, then changes their practices so they aren't continuing their same ways of production and distribution that led to emissions. So as of NOW, every time you purchase Seek Discomfort, you are also planting mangrove trees and reforesting kelp. Head to the link HERE to shop Seek Discomfort and plant SeaTrees!Connect with Bryan and Seek Discomfort at the following links:Bryan's InstagramSeek Discomfort's Instagram Seek Discomfort's YouTube Yes Theory's YouTube Yes Theory's Instagram

In this episode I talk to Zack Honarvar (@ZackHonarvar) who's the business manager for not 1 but 2 HUGE YouTube channels you might know of: Airrack and Yes Theory. He also manages the cheeky boyos, 2 Tiktokers who have over 10M followers on the platform. What's unique about Zack's management style is that instead of managing a dozen clients, he's decided to manage only 3 and go all in on them. That allows him to go beyond the basic brand deals and merch drops, and instead partner up with his clients for the long run to build massive businesses and brands. Before diving into all of that, we start the episode off talking about Zack's entrepreneurial background as a teenager as well as his experience working as an early Shopify employee and how those contributed to him being an amazing manager.SHOW NOTES: 00:00 Zack's vision for Creator management03:15 Zack's Background story10:52 The story behind starting a tutoring company24:10 His advice about starting a side hustle27:20 His experience working at Shopify38:10 Meeting the Yes Theory team41:00 The vision and business model for his creator management company 01:00:25 Working with @Yes Theory 01:11:35 Meeting Airrack 01:16:45 Starting Creator Now With Airrack01:27:50 Advice for aspiring Creator managersLinks and resources from this episode:Creatornow program: https://creatornow.clubGo follow Zack on Twitter: https://twitter.com/zackhonarvarGo follow Zack on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/zackhonarvarAnd if you're reading this, don't be shy! I am so excited to share today's episode with you all! In this episode, I interview Marissa Meizz. Marissa is the founder of No More Lonely Friends, an organization centered around hosting meet-ups to help people make life-long friends. Recently, Marissa's life changed overnight. A young man walking in NYC overheard a conversation between a group of friends. They were talking negatively about a girl named Marissa and were planning to have a party the weekend she was away. The man posted a video to TikTok calling them out and telling people to send the video to Marissa, who he didn't know. The video got over 14 million views. Marissa saw the video; her heart sank. Since then, a tidal wave of amazing change has occurred in Marissa's life. She made the front page of the New York Times, got interviewed on the Drew Barrymore Show, and the list continues. In today's episode, we talk about it all. In the episode, we specifically discuss how to succeed as a female creator. We further explore the pros and cons of being a female creator and how Marissa has experienced each of these. Marissa is one of the top female creatives to follow. From growing up acting and making clothes, to working on movie production, and living on contracted work in L.A. and NYC, Marissa is a role model in the creative space. One question we dive into is what would the female version of Yes Theory look like? We also discuss what happens after you go viral, what it means to be a good friend, and how to create the life you want to live. I had an amazing time interviewing Marissa Meizz. Reimagining the office and work life after COVID-19 is an ongoing debate in many corporate boardrooms. Data suggests that as many as 89 percent of office-based employees “say they want to be allowed to work remotely some or all of the time” and one in four employees suggest “they might quit their jobs after the pandemic, mostly because they want to look for work with greater flexibility.”In this bonus episode of Cautious Coffee, Austin and DeRae field a topic submitted by listener Gauhar Hussain: “Return to the office and the guilt that comes from missing home.”Where do you stand?ABOUT CAUTIOUS COFFEECautious Coffee is a forum for candid, often uncomfortable conversations. Hosted by Austin Staton and DeRae Crane, each episode brings you unscripted and unfiltered commentary on key issues that are impacting our country and culture.
