Special Guest Host Cale Clarke plunges into a lively blend of 80s nostalgia, sharp biblical history, and offbeat discovery, shifting from Ferris Bueller to Tacitus and Josephus without missing a beat. He untangles legendary stories about Jesus’ early years, throws in a pun from a spirited caller, then suddenly shifts to practical life hacks like turning your phone grayscale and running a personal “leverage audit” before the year ends. Faith, fact, humor, and fresh advice unpredictably collide, sometimes all in a single breath. More proof that Jesus Christ was a real person (03:43) Roy – We know that Jesus was in the temple at 12 years old. What do we know about the 18 years of Jesus's ordinary life? How come we don't hear of that in the Bible? How can we find out? (21:01) Josiah – Joke: What did Jesus eat for breakfast? He said my yokes are easy and my bourbon is light. In today's episode, I sit down with Sahil Bloom, investor, writer, and bestselling author of The Five Types of Wealth. We talk about the moment that shifted his perspective on success, when he realized time with loved ones was finite and worth protecting at all costs. Sahil shares how that decision led him and his wife to move across the country to be near family, and how he now views time as the ultimate form of wealth. We also explore compounding investments in health, relationships, and curiosity, the concept of anti goals, and the power of defining a life razor to create clarity in chaotic times.
When you think about building wealth in medicine, do you picture yourself working at one job until retirement? My guest today, Kristin Burton, proves there's a better way. She began her career like many of us, buried in student loan debt and working long hours. After paying off $161,000 in just 16 months, she realized financial freedom was about more than debt elimination. Kristin shares how she shifted her focus from paying bills to building assets, investing aggressively in her twenties, and eventually creating income streams outside of medicine. We talk about the mindset shifts healthcare professionals must make to get ahead, and Kristin also shares how she helps other PAs, NPs, and PharmDs rethink their financial journey, create sustainable wealth, and avoid burnout in medicine. If you're wondering whether it's possible to thrive in your career, grow your wealth, and still have time for family and passions, this episode is for you! “If you can create a gap between your expenses and income and then create some assets with the gap, it's almost inevitable that you're gonna end up building some wealth.” ~ Kristin Burton In This Episode:- Kristin Burton's journey of paying $161k in student debt- What steps did she take toward becoming a millionaire?- Why your income level doesn't matter in building wealth- What Kristin would do differently and her current beliefs- Biggest client "head trash": PSLF myths and the 4% 401k mindset - How do you help healthcare professionals avoid lifestyle inflation?- Kristin's book recommendations - Redefining wealth: from net worth goals to "what is enough?" - How to find out more and join Kristin's community Book Recommendations Mentioned in the Episode: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: https://a.co/d/3yayzkg 10x Is Easier Than 2x by Dr. Benjamin Hardy & Dan Sullivan: https://a.co/d/hlbLEbG Who Not How by Dr. Benjamin Hardy & Dan Sullivan: https://a.co/d/2Ol8RjwThe 5 Types of Wealth by Sahil Bloom: https://a.co/d/6SMYeNH Die With Zero by Bill Perkins: https://a.co/d/6ae8TSq Join The Millionaires in Medicine Club!Learn how to clear debt and build wealth as a PA, NP, or PharmD: https://www.millionairesinmedicine.com/community Connect with Kristin Burton: Website: https://www.millionairesinmedicine.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristin-burton-pac `Resources:➡️ Free community of high-performing physicians: the Physician Wealth Accelerator - https://limitless-md.mn.co/➡️ Check out my programs - https://vikramraya.com/coaching/➡️ Apply to become a Limitless MD -

Have you ever stopped and looked at your life and thought, Why do I feel poorer than I am? I know I have. On paper, things are going well. I've written books, worked with big companies, and my little company continues to grow. I've built a career that I'm proud of, and I work hard to live within my means, especially with six kids who are always wanting lessons in everything! From the outside, it looks like it is all going really well.. But when I pause to reflect, there's still this feeling of being... poorer than I'd like to be. And no, I'm not talking about the literal kind of poverty, the kind that keeps people awake at night, wondering how they're going to make ends meet. I'm not talking about the kind of struggle that comes with scarcity. What I'm talking about is something deeper. A kind of poverty that can't be solved with money, no matter how much you have in the bank. Ryan Holiday recently wrote about this in an article titled “These Are All the Ways I Feel Poorer Than I Am.” In it, he talks about a conversation he had with Sahil Bloom about the different kinds of wealth, wealth that doesn't show up on your paycheck. Time wealth, emotional wealth, social wealth, mental wealth, and physical wealth. These are the kinds of wealth we often overlook, even though they shape our happiness far more than any amount of money ever will. Today, I want to dive into this idea. I want to explore how, even though my life is going well, I still deal with anxiety and stress, worrying about things that haven't happened, missing out on present moments because my mind is too busy. I want to talk about how I've neglected my social wealth and how I don't have enough close friends anymore because I'm too wrapped up in work and family. But here's the thing: The more I think about it, the more I realize that true wealth isn't about the size of your bank account, it's about the balance in your life. It's about the freedom to live on your terms, the relationships you build, and the moments you enjoy, fully present. So, if you've ever felt like you have everything, but still feel like something's missing, this episode is for you. We'll explore how to stop chasing the wrong kinds of wealth and start focusing on the ones that really matter. And maybe, just maybe, you'll discover that you've had everything you need all along. **From Ryan Holiday's website: "These Are All The Ways I Feel Poorer Than I Am." (It is a great read!) QUOTES BY DR. BRAY "Worry and stress are a real cost—they have stolen hours of sleep, moments of joy, and precious time with family." "We spend so much time worrying about imaginary problems that we create real ones." "True wealth is measured not by the balance of your bank account, but by the balance in your life."
He was a Wall Street high-flyer, set on chasing millions, who changed the course of his life to find true wealth far beyond money. In this transformative episode, Sahil Bloom joins Sarah Grynberg to share his journey from burn-out banker to writer, thinker, and father redefining success on his own terms. From the gut-punch moment that made him rethink his future to the five types of wealth that changed his life, Sahil reveals what it really takes to design a life that feels as good as it looks. You’ll learn: *How the Smartest People Make Money (that no one talks about).*How to build “time wealth” and reclaim your most precious resource.*Why chasing money alone can leave you winning the wrong game. In this Mentor Moment, Gary Fox speaks with Sahil Bloom — investor, writer, and creator — about how his definition of success has transformed. Once focused purely on financial outcomes, Sahil now measures success through time, people, purpose, and health, seeing money as a natural byproduct rather than the goal. He also shares a refreshing take on imposter syndrome, reframing it as a sign of growth and a tax on personal progress, and explains why asking “Why not me?” is the mindset shift every founder needs when stepping into bigger rooms. This is a short but powerful conversation packed with perspective shifts to help you redefine success on your own terms. Watch the full episode on our new YouTube channel: youtube.com/@mreapodcastWe're welcoming Sahil Bloom to the show—a thinker whose work has become a true phenomenon. Sahil's book, The 5 Types of Wealth, hit the New York Times bestseller list for seven weeks and his newsletter, The Curiosity Chronicle, is devoured by nearly a million readers four times a week. In this conversation, Sahil lays out the model that's reshaping how so many leaders approach life, success, and what it really means to be wealthy.Sahil doesn't settle for the usual conversation about wealth. Instead, he breaks it down into five categories: time, social, mental, physical, and financial. He challenges us to get radically clear about what matters most in each domain—moving away from automatic living and into intentional design. We get practical about the exercises and mindset shifts that helped Sahil build his own multidimensional life, like when he moved cross-country for his family and reframed financial goals as a tool (not the endgame). If you're tired of chasing someone else's definition of success or just want to take your business and your life to the next level, this is the model you need.Resources:Read The 5 Types of Wealth by Sahil BloomSubscribe to Sahil Bloom's newsletter, The Curiosity ChronicleWatch Brian Gubernick's TED Talk, Time is FiniteListen: Episode 06. What if the real risk isn't failure—it's spending your whole life chasing a version of success that was never yours to begin with? That question sparked a radical transformation in Sahil Bloom's life. A NYT best-selling author, entrepreneur, and investor, Sahil once had a sobering realization: he might only see his parents 15 more times in his lifetime. That gut-check moment became a catalyst for deep change—he left his high-powered career, moved across the country, and set out to architect a life rooted in meaning rather than momentum. In this conversation, Sahil shares the mental frameworks, emotional reckoning, and actionable systems he's used to redesign his life. Together, Sahil and Dr. Mike unpack the hidden cost of conventional success, the power of mortality to clarify purpose, and how to build a life worth living. You'll learn:Why “success” can become a trap—and how to redefine it for yourselfThe simple framework Sahil uses to make high-quality life decisionsHow to overcome fear when walking away from something “good”The role mortality plays in clarifying what really mattersStrategies to realign your life around purpose, not performanceThis one's for anyone who wants to rewrite the script on what "success" means to you.Links & ResourcesSubscribe to our Youtube Channel for more conversations at the intersection of high performance, leadership, and wellbeing: https://www.youtube.com/c/FindingMasteryGet exclusive discounts and support our amazing sponsors! You've Made More Money Than You Ever Thought Possible—So Why Doesn't It Feel Like the Life You Wanted? What if money isn't the ultimate measure of success? My conversation with bestselling author Sahil Bloom seriously challenged the way I think about wealth, and I have a feeling it's going to do the same for you. In this episode, Sahil shares how a wake-up call led him to walk away from a prestigious job and move across the country to prioritize family, purpose, and time freedom. And if you know me, you know this conversation hit home in a big way. Sahil breaks down the invisible pressures we carry as entrepreneurs and offers a framework that creates room for joy, health, and deep connection. If you've ever felt like you're chasing the next big revenue goal but still not getting closer to the life you really want, this is your chance to reset. Plus, there's one question he shared that I can't stop thinking about: If you were the main character in a movie of your life, what would the audience be screaming at you to do right now? Think about it and then DM me on Instagram (@amyporterfield) and tell me your answer. Seriously, I want to know! HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: 1️⃣ The Five Types of Wealth – Sahil breaks down the five dimensions of wealth—time, social, mental, physical, and financial—and explains why financial wealth is the least important without the others. 2️⃣ The Power of Defining Your "Enough" – Your expectations are your biggest financial liability. Defining what "enough" looks like for you personally is the only way to feel truly wealthy and avoid a lifetime of chasing moving goalposts. 3️⃣ Create an Anti To-Do List – If you want to grow faster without burnout, try creating an "anti to-do list” of all the habits and mindsets that hold you back from being the best version of yourself. RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: How does your digital course offer stand out from the sea of offers just like it? If your answer is “dunno
Sahil Bloom was living the "dream" life, climbing the corporate ladder, earning well, and hitting all the career milestones. Yet, he felt unfulfilled. During a conversation with an old friend, he mentioned how he only saw his parents once a year. His friend's blunt remark, "You're going to see your parents 15 more times before they die," hit him hard, forcing him to reevaluate his priorities and reassess his idea of success. In this episode, Sahil joins Ilana to share how to overcome the fear of career transitions, build a life that aligns with your values, and find fulfillment beyond a paycheck. Sahil Bloom is an entrepreneur, investor, and writer focused on redefining wealth beyond money. Through his newsletter, The Curiosity Chronicle, Sahil offers actionable ideas for building a high-performing, healthy, and wealthy life. In this episode, I'm joined by Joanna and Matthew Raabsmith—a couple whose story of addiction, betrayal, and ultimately deep healing is nothing short of powerful. Matthew shares his journey through sexual addiction and recovery, while Joanna opens up about the betrayal trauma that nearly broke their relationship—and how they found a way to rebuild trust, intimacy, and connection. We talk about what betrayal trauma really is (hint: it's not codependency), how hiding the truth strips partners of choice, and why full disclosure—when done safely—can be a turning point for couples facing the fallout of hidden addictions. I'm so grateful to Joanna and Matthew for being so open, vulnerable, and generous with their story. Not only have they done their own healing work, they're now guiding other couples through some of the most painful and confusing moments of their lives. If youve ever asked yourself, “Can we really come back from this?”—this conversation is for you. Before we jump in, I wanted to share an update on my “Self-Care Summer” project where I have been focusing the majority of my time on recovering from burnout. I have gone through the workaholic/burnout cycle so many times, I realized it's time to take a step back, quit posting daily content on social media, delete the social apps from my phone, and really take action on all the healing practices that I have discovered over the last 30 years. My approach was to create a list of activities, and I am listing them in the order that I've been doing them. You can find the list at odaatchat.com under this episode. The list includes: Gratitude List - text to clients andamp; friends Walks With Teddy while listening to educational or inspiring podcasts Weight training andamp; Yoga 12 Step Meetings Journaling: Two Way Prayer, Morning Pages, Education Reflection Journaling 30 Minutes Meditation - Waking Up App Tracking Time: I clock all the things above but also include Step Work Cooking Grooming Gardening Education - There's a bunch of books I want to work through. The intention is to actually do the work suggested in the books. On the docket are: 5 types of wealth by Sahil Bloom, Stop missing your life by Corey Muscara, Make Money Easy by Lewis Howes, and possibly A Course In Miracles Podcasting Client Calls Evening reflection journaling I know it probably sounds like a lot, and I didn't want this to turn into another thing I obsess over. To prevent that, the overarching guiding principle is to do a quick inner compass check and ask, what is the next right indicated action? And if I notice I need to rest or want to focus on play, I do that. The goal is really to practice self-acceptance and to give myself time and space to think about what patterns or stories no longer serve me, and think about who I really want to be and how I really want to spend my time. When we strip away what we think we should do, and get honest about our hearts desire, that's when we can truly align with our life's purpose and live authentically. This is really a process of emerging, and I'm excited about this phase in my journey. So stay tuned for updates! And without further delay, please enjoy this episode with Matt andamp; Joanna.

In this deeply personal episode, Sahil Bloom joins Ryan Sean Adams to explore what it truly means to be wealthy and why so many high achievers get it wrong. After hitting burnout, Ryan stepped away from the grind to reassess his definition of success. What he found was a framework that reframed his entire life: the Five Types of Wealth. Together, they unpack why net worth alone is a poor scoreboard, how to avoid the trap of “never enough,” and what it means to build time, social, mental, physical, and financial wealth in harmony. This conversation is both a blueprint and a reboot, for anyone chasing more, and wondering why it still doesn't feel like enough. ------
Your net worth isn't the full picture of your wealth. Financial independence is great, but if your health, relationships, and purpose suffer, are you really wealthy? In this episode, Jamie and Spencer break down The Five Types of Wealth by Sahil Bloom and how to create a life that's truly rich—beyond just the numbers in your bank account. Overview: Financial wealth is only one piece of the puzzle. Sahil Bloom's book introduces the concept that true wealth comes in five forms: time, social, mental, physical, and financial wealth. Jamie and Spencer reflect on their own experiences in the military and beyond, exploring how service members often have hidden riches in some areas—like social and mental wealth—but struggle in others, like financial or physical health. Wealth isn't just about money. The most financially successful people often struggle in health, relationships, and purpose. The goal isn't to maximize one area but to balance all five types of wealth so you can build a truly rich life—one that's deeply fulfilling, not just financially secure. Key Points: The Five Types of Wealth Defined: A breakdown of time, social, mental, physical, and financial wealth—why all five matter. Military Service & Wealth: How military members often have strong mental and social wealth but struggle in financial and physical areas. Time Wealth & How to Own Your Schedule: The importance of time freedom—are your days designed to build the life you want? Social Wealth & Deepening Relationships: How to build lasting friendships, especially after leaving the military. Mental Wealth & Purpose: How defining a personal mission statement can shape a more fulfilling life. Physical Wealth & Health: The long-term impact of fitness, nutrition, and recovery on overall life satisfaction. Financial Wealth & The Enough Life: The danger of chasing an ever-moving financial goal and defining your version of financial sufficiency. What if everything you've been chasing—money, titles, recognition—is pulling you further from the life you actually want? In this gripping, mind-altering episode, Ginny Yurich sits down with Sahil Bloom, bestselling author of The Five Types of Wealth, for a raw and powerful conversation that just might change how you spend your time, build your family, and define success. Sahil unpacks the “poverty of more,” the illusion of the arrival fallacy, and why being a “time billionaire” is the most overlooked kind of wealth in our modern world. This episode challenges you to reimagine your life's scoreboard, and it delivers the clarity we're all craving: what actually matters, and how to protect it. Through relatable stories, shocking data, and vulnerable moments, Sahil and Ginny explore how to raise grounded kids in a world obsessed with more, how to define your own “enough,” and why tiny shifts in focus—like a Tuesday night dinner or coaching your kid's sports team—can redefine legacy. It's not just about having more time; it's about designing a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside. Don't miss this one—it might be the most important episode of the year. ** Learn more about Sahil and all he has to offer here Get your copy of The Five Types of Wealth here A huge thank you to our sponsors! Are You Climbing the Right Mountain? What if the life you're chasing isn't the life you actually want? In this conversation, I sat down with Sahil Bloom—someone who's not only full of wisdom well beyond his years but has the guts to question everything we've been told about success. You'll hear how Sahil traded the “dream” job, the big checks, and the societal applause for a life that actually meant something to him. He's not just talking theory—he lived this. And together, we unpack what it means to redefine wealth in a way that includes all the parts of your life that truly matter. This episode is packed with real talk about time, health, relationships, mental clarity, and yes—money. Sahil breaks down his Five Types of Wealth and gets brutally honest about why chasing only one can cost you everything else. I loved what he said: “Sometimes the things you pray for become the things you complain about, if you're not paying attention.” That hit me hard—and I know it will hit you too. We also talk about how to actually make changes in your life. Not the fluffy stuff. Real, actionable tools—like how to schedule energy-giving activities, reframe your relationship with money, and audit your time to reflect your true values. We get into how to stay consistent with new habits, even when life is chaotic, using Sahil's ABC system that anyone can implement today. Look, this is one of those conversations that might just shift the direction of your life. Don't listen passively. Evaluate where you are. Take the action. Because if you're climbing the wrong mountain fast, you're still going the wrong way. Key Takeaways: Why financial wealth is only one part of the equation—and how to identify the other four. The concept of “anything above zero compounds” and how it reshapes consistency. Why time is your most valuable currency—and how to design more of it. The dimmer switch model for life balance (and why the on/off switch ruins your future). The Think Day ritual: how one hour of reflection can realign your life's direction. Let this be your pause. Let this be your moment to check in. Because maybe, just maybe—you're already living out your prayers. Max out.
Dolph Lundgren returns to share the deeply personal story of his battle with cancer, including a misdiagnosis that nearly cost him his life. He opens up about growing up with an abusive father, his journey to healing through martial arts and therapy, and how nearly dying gave him a new perspective on life. The conversation spans his iconic Hollywood career, offbeat early days at Studio 54 with Grace Jones and Andy Warhol, and his upcoming documentary chronicling it all.Later, Sahil Bloom sits down with Adam to talk about the downside of hustle culture and how being “busy” isn't the same as being productive. He shares the five types of wealth he focuses on—time, social, physical, mental, and financial—and explains how he structures his day to avoid distraction and burnout. They also get into social media addiction, family life, and what it really means to have balance in a modern world. In the news, Adam and Mayhem Miller react to the DOJ's investigation into billions of dollars spent on homelessness in Southern California, with federal officials hinting at upcoming arrests for fraud and corruption. They also dive into the unexpected chaos surrounding The Minecraft Movie, which has turned into a Gen Z and Gen Alpha cult hit, complete with rowdy theater antics, popcorn-throwing, and full-blown pandemonium. For more with Dolph Lundgren : HARD CUT VODKAwww.hardcutvodka.com INSTAGRAM: @dolphlundgrenFor more with Sahil Bloom : The 5 Types of Wealth: A Transformative Guide to Design Your Dream Life www.The5TypesofWealth.com www.SahilBloom.com INSTAGRAM: @SahilBloom TWITTER: @SahilBloom Thank you for supporting our sponsors:use code ADAM at american-giant.comHomes.comForThePeople.com/ADAMoreillyauto.com/ADAMTikTokeconomicimpact.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
