Should you dress up in fancy clothes or a semi formal outfit at Walt Disney World? What should you wear to a Signature Dining restaurant at Disney World? Dressing up in upscale resort wear is definitely doable at Walt Disney World. Here's what you need to know. What does Fancy Style Look Like on a Disney vacation? While a Walt Disney World vacation is most often comprised of hot sunny weather and theme park days, there are occasions where you may want to dress up just a little bit for a night out, or dinner and drinks at a Signature Disney restaurant. In most cases, you don't need to bring formal wear or even a jacket and tie, unless you really want to. It is rare to see guests dressed up to that degree, unless they are part of a wedding party or heading to Victoria & Albert's for dinner.Still, it is nice to get a little more dressed up in the evenings, especially if you are heading out for dinner, drinks or to stroll through Disney Springs or see a show. For women, dressing up at Disney World could include a nice breezy dress, or skirt and blouse combination is a great way to get upscale style while still staying in the spirit of your Disney vacation. For men, casual pants or casual shorts (think business casual at work), along with a button-up shirt and casual shoes is the perfect way to go.Dressing up for Dinner at Walt Disney WorldFor Disney Signature Restaurants, there is no singular dress code that applies to all. Victoria & Albert's has the most stringent dress codes, while for the other Signature Dining Restaurants it really depends on the location.Disney World Signature Dining restaurants located inside Disney Parks (such as Le Cellier, Tiffins, Takumi-Tei and the Hollywood Brown Derby) tend to be a little more casual and less formal, since most guests are having a theme park day.For Disney World Signature Dining restaurants located inside Disney Resort Hotels or in Disney Springs the expectation is that guests will respect the restaurant's ambiance and aesthetic with a little bit more attention. No swimwear or ratty torn clothing, but rather neat and tidy resort wear at the very least. You will find the specific dress code for each Disney Signature Dining Restaurant on the restaurant's page at DisneyWorld.com. Disney Signature Dining Dress CodeThe Dress Code on the restaurant page is the same for virtually all Disney Signature Restaurants. It states:This restaurant is a Disney Signature Dining experience offering fine dining with a distinctly magical flair. Guests are expected to dress accordingly in attire that respects the restaurant's sophisticated and upscale aesthetic. Clothing should be clean, neat and in good condition. Please no swimwear.Victoria & Albert's Dress CodeThe Dress Code for Victoria & Albert's is unique as Walt Disney World. It states:Victoria & Albert's is an exquisite and intimate upscale dining experience and the culinary crown jewel of Walt Disney World Resort. Guests are expected to dress accordingly in semi-formal/formal attire that respects the restaurant's elegant and opulent aesthetic.Disney Bounding and Dapper DaysBeyond bringing nicer clothes to dress up at Walt Disney World, guests may also take part in Disney Bounding and the occasional Dapper Days.Disney Bounding is where you create an outfit that is inspired by a Disney character. It's not a character costume, but rather an outfit that takes elements of a character's style that you craft with your own clothes.Dapper Days are specific days (not Disney official) where guests dress to the nines in vintage style clothing and outfits. You'll definitely notice guests dressed up on Dapper Days at Disney, a true celebration of style.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. Another option is the Obstacle Challenge, which takes place at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail before the park opens. There is also a power walking option that takes place in DCA. Since we last recorded, there were rumors of guidelines being released to allow the parks, and other amusement parks throughout the state to open, then they were postponed, then Bob Iger left the task force that was working on the guidelines, then more and more Anaheim area organizations are pressuring the state and Governor Gavin Newson to allow the parks to open. The guidelines that were rumored to be suggested were that “individual theme parks can reopen only once their county reaches the least-restrictive “minimal” risk level, they must operate at 25% of attendance capacity, and limit visitors to residents living within a 120-mile radius of each theme park.” The biggest issue with this was that to get to the minimal risk level would basically mean waiting until the pandemic was over. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/10/02/news-early-details-of-californias-theme-park-reopening-guidelines-revealed/ and https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/2020/10/01/california-attractions-and-parks-association-asks-state-not-to-finalize-reopening-guidelines-until-modifications-are-made/ and https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/2020/10/01/bob-iger-leaves-gavin-newsom-economic-recovery-advisory-group/ and https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/2020/10/02/california-officials-to-work-with-theme-park-operators-before-issuing-reopening-guidelines/ Guests can now step inside the gates of Disney California Adventure to shop, but it isn’t what it sounds like. Chapek began talking about attendance and demand. They are really encouraged by what they are seeing from Shanghai’s first day. They are going to be very disciplined on how they open up, and are going to take their time. Chapek said that it has to be Disney operations in partnership with guest behavior to make it successful. Disney World for grown-ups Sure Walt Disney World is great for a family vacation, but it's even better to go to Disney World on a grown-up trip. Disney Marathons, Dapper Days, Epcot Food and Wine, Flower and Garden Festival are all great events happening at Walt Disney World that are perfect for a grown-up trip to Walt Disney World. When you go to Walt Disney World for a grown up trip you can plan and experience different things than when you are going with your family. Best Walt Disney World Resort for a group or grown-up trip First, your Disney World accommodations could be Club Level at one of Disney World top deluxe resorts. Disney Club Level would give you a nice place to relax and have some snacks and drinks. Also doing Disney as an adult your location on Disney property is key. I personally like to stay close to EPCOT if I go to Walt Disney World on a grown-up trip. When you stay at Disney's Boardwalk Resort, Beach Club or Yacht Club, you can quickly get to Epcot to dine around World Showcase. These Disney World Epcot resorts are literally a 10 minute walk to Epcot's back gate which gets you into the park next to the UK and Paris. This is also perfect to go back to your resort room and park to the park later to watch Illuminations. Another way to think about your Disney World resort accommodations for an adult only trip, is to stay at a Disney World Value resort. If you are only going to be sleeping in your Disney resort and spending all your time out with friends in the parks, then you might not want to spend the money for a Disney Deluxe Resort. The one disadvantage of the Disney World value resorts are that they are not close to the Disney World Parks. Being away from the parks can cut into your grown-up trip time if you are waiting for buses. I would recommend Uber or your own car, especially if you are meeting your friends at other Disney resorts for lunch or dinner. Using Disney transportation to go resort to resort is time consuming. Best Disney Park for grown ups When I go to Walt Disney World with friends we like to hit several parks and Disney resorts. So park hopping is key and planning everything in advance also is important. We do spend a great deal of time in Epcot and at the Magic Kingdom when we are at Disney World from a grown-up trip. We don't ride much, but we like to talk and stroll around the parks and resorts. A trip with grown-ups is a more relaxed trip and a slower pace for most of us and it's an enjoyable way to see Walt Disney World. Disney Springs with all the new entertainment, shops, and dining is also a great place to spend time at with adults. You can also see the Cirque Du Soleil show at Disney Springs. Also it can be fun to go to the Disney Water parks, Jelli-rolls, and even mini-golf at Walt Disney World with a group. Best Dining at Walt Disney World for a group-up trip If you are going to Disney World as a couple or as a group of grown-ups, we all love California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. California Grill also has some large tables that are perfect for groups of 10-20. Join us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
