S8 E4: Wryson's Eternity by Shehanne MooreIn this special episode of Tea, Toast & Trivia, I reflect on the work of Scottish author Shehanne Moore, with a focus on her latest novel, Wryson's Eternity. After a technical mishap prevented our original interview from being shared, I chose another path: a personal reflection on Shey's storytelling gift. Her characters are flawed, wounded, passionate, and real. They face danger, risk love, and search for healing in worlds filled with adventure, hope, and redemption.Pour yourself a cup of tea and join me for a thoughtful journey into memory, love, and the stories that stay with us.Music by Epidemic Sound”A Life of Devotion” by David Celeste“The Fellowship” by Christoffer Moe Ditlevsen

As a young electrical engineer at RC Corporation, Shey Sabripour was inspired by the company's legacy of contributing to space missions, and he wanted to make his own mark by establishing a company that builds technology in the U.S. Shey went on to found CesiumAstro 10 years ago, which is now at a pivotal moment in its growth journey. He joins On Orbit this week after the company recently raised $270 million, and secured EXIM financing to build out its manufacturing capabilities in Texas. In this interview, he shares his deep passion for building in America, and how he sees a crucial link between strong commercial competition, resilient supply chains, and defense readiness. Shey also talks about how CesiumAstro has methodically grown from providing software defined radios to now, full-scale missions and previews the launch of the company's first Element satellite, targeted for later this year. This episode is brought to you by CesiumAstro, a leading U.S. designer and manufacturer of mission-critical, AI-enabled, software-defined space and defense systems.

Send us a textShey is a years-long labor of love. She's a 4-3/4 ton lion sculpture crafted by hand from Lyons Pink sandstone. What better place for her to settle than Bohn Park in Lyons?Sculptor Kimmerjae Macarus found the original 8-ton sandstone block in a stoneyard where she worked during her time in landscape design. The block has been in her life for over a decade, ever since she discovered it before the 2013 Front Range floods. She fell in love with the rock, looking at it and climbing it for years. The block had many significant vertical fissures, or “dry cracks,” and, combined with the enormous cost of purchasing the block, she felt it would be insane to try to bring the stone to her studio in Lafayette to carve it.Her connection to the stone did not break, though. The Front Range floods moved many of the pieces in the stoneyard, and when she initially struggled to find this stone, she panicked and grieved for it.When she finally found the stone again, she knew she had to try to carve something from it, even if the result wasn't successful.
