If there's one piece of Disney advice that hasn't changed since Walt Disney World first opened in 1971, it's this: if you get to a Disney Park for rope drop, you can do more in the first three or four hours (at no cost), than most other guests who arrive later will do all day.Rope Drop Apparel: Original Graphic Tees, Hoodies and Sweatshirts Inspired by a Rite of Passage for Disney Parks Visitors This is why the concept of rope drop (there are ropes that drop to allow you entry) is so near and dear to the hearts of frequent Disney travelers.Rope Droppers are a Special BreedEven though there are definite benefits to rope dropping a park, rope drop isn't for everyone. Rope dropping takes a special kind of traveler—one who is willing to drag themselves (and their family members) out of bed early on vacation, even before sunrise. This dedicated traveler fuels up with coffee (ideally, I mean it's not a rule or anything) and heads to the park gates before it opens, only to stand in line and wait. But rope droppers know that that seemingly large crowd will disperse in the blink of an eye once the park gates open and the rope drops. And that, dear friends, is when the magic begins. Sure, it's easier just to sleep in and get to the park a couple of hours later…but you will have missed out on the dawn patrol fun. Rope droppers are a special breed of Disney traveler who know sleeping in is not an option. Rope Drop is More than Just Shorter Ride LinesRope Drop is not just about getting on your favorite rides at no extra cost and with very short wait times (you can pay for that privilege all day long if you like). Instead, it's about the extra level of park magic that comes when you rope drop a park.Being among the first to walk through the park gates into a mostly empty theme park is a unique and somehow euphoric feeling. Traveling down walkways with very few guests in sight isn't an everyday occurrence, but it is when you rope drop. Cast Members often line the streets to wave and welcome guests, because the shops are literally empty. These extra bits of Disney Parks magic are valued by a rope droppers who appreciate the little extra bits of Disney magic you get from getting there first. There is really no better way to spend a sunrise wake-up at Walt Disney World.Rope Drop Apparel: Park Outfitters, by 1923 Main StreetAs frequent rope droppers at Disney Parks since the very first days of Walt Disney World when it was only Magic Kingdom Park, we appreciate the value that you get from rope dropping a park. So, we decided to create a collection dedicated specifically to the magic of rope drop and, more importantly, the hardy Disney travelers who get out of bed at the crack of dawn on their Disney vacations in order to take advantage of this time-honored tradition. The 1923 Main Street Rope Drop Apparel Collection features a wide range of t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies with various graphic designs inspired by the magic of rope drop. This collection is for those who get the magic of rope drop. For the dreamers, the doers and those who know that you will be rewarded for waking up early and making the journey to a park gate at least 30 minutes before the scheduled opening time. We all know that a Walt Disney World vacation is magical in its own right, but have you ever wanted to add a little extra style to your stay? Big and Small, 11 Ways You can Add Extra Magic to Your Next Disney VacationWhether it's your first time or your tenth time, you can elevate the style of your Disney World vacation by adding a little extra magic and style (with something for every budget). The Top 11 Ways to Upscale Your Walt Disney World Vacation with Style Here are 11 easy ways to add a little extra style and flair to your Walt Disney World vacation, they're not all cheap, but there is something here for every price point and Disney travel budget. Want to Do Your Walt Disney World in Style so that Everyone Feels Extra Special? Why not surprise your travel party with one or more of these 11 Disney travel style experiences? 1. Limo Service $$ Ever since Disney's Magical Express disappeared, guests have had to pay for their transportation to and from Orlando International Airport. A great way to elevate the style of your Walt Disney World vacation is to start at the beginning: with a limo service from the airport to your Disney resort hotel (and back again). You have to pay for transport anyway, so for approximately $200 round trip (give or take a little) you can ride in style and really have a great experience. 2. Stay in a Deluxe Disney Resort Hotel $$$$ - $$$$$ One of the easiest ways to elevate the style of your Disney vacation is to stay in a Disney Deluxe hotel close to your favorite Disney Park. There really is a noticeable difference between Disney Value Resorts, Moderate Resorts and Deluxe Resorts. From a more magical ambiance, to dining, amenities and park proximity, staying in a Disney Deluxe resort hotel can definitely elevate the style of your Disney World vacation. There are Deluxe Resorts at different price points as well, so consider this awesome surprise for your travel party, who will definitely feel they've upgraded their Disney style. Warming: Please note that it may be very difficult to downgrade your Disney resort hotel category after experiencing a Disney Deluxe Resort.3. VIP Tour or Backstage Experience $$$ - $$$$$ A great way to do Disney vacation in style is with a VIP Tour or other backstage experience or tour. Not only will you feel extra special on any guided tour, but this is Disney Parks style in its finest form. I mean, you get a lanyard (and sometimes more), so that says traveling in style right there…right? There are many tours from which to choose (from the ultra-premium VIP tour, to more price-friendly park-themed tours), so be sure to check them out and book in advance as they can fill up quickly.4. Disney Club Level Accommodations $$$$$ Staying in a Disney World Deluxe Resort is one thing, but you can elevate that experience even further if you really want to go in style. By choosing a Club Level room at a Deluxe Resort, you'll open up a whole new world of upscale style – from Club Level Lounge offerings to private Club Level Concierge's – that will really put the style meter to a whole new level. 5. Lightning Lane Premier Pass $$$ If a VIP Tour is not in your budget, the next best way to add a similar style experience to your vacation is with a Lightning Lane Premier Pass. With this pass, you and your party can use the Lightning Lane for every single attraction in one park, one time each, for one day, without having to make any reservations. Sound great? It can be and it's a good way to do a Disney Park in style. 6. Disney Fireworks Cruise $$$ Don't feel like standing in crowds to watch fireworks or the nighttime show at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT? No problem, do it in style by booking a fireworks cruise experience. Boats can hold up to 10 guests and you are chartering the entire boat, so if you have less than 10 guests this can really feel like the ultimate in Disney style. 7. Grand Floridian Spa Experience $$-$$$ Nothing says going in style like a relaxing time at a spa and the ultimate spa experience at Walt Disney World is located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (it's right in the name!). With an elegant Victorian style and a relaxing garden-inspired atmosphere, you can elevation your Disney vacation time with a spa experience that suits your style. There are even couple's offerings and something for your 14-17-year-olds if you they go with you. Relax and recharge in style after a day in the parks. 8. Stay in a Disney Deluxe Villa $$$$ - $$$$$ While a Disney Deluxe Resort is a worthy style elevation, you can take it in another direction by booking a Disney Deluxe Villa. With a Deluxe Villa, you'll get all of the amenities of the Deluxe Resort, but your room (studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom or three-bedroom) will be more like a vacation villa or condo than a hotel room. Relax in style with your own kitchen/kitchenette, dining area, laundry facilities and more. Make your Walt Disney World vacation a villa vacation (and you don't need to be a Disney Vacation Club member to book one). 9. Create Your Own Disney Popcorn Mix $ Want to go in style with your snacking? Who needs the same old snacks that any Disney guest can buy when you can custom create your very own Disney popcorn? This is a fun and inexpensive way to elevate your vacation snacking style. You can find this unique experience at the Kernel Kitchen in Magic Kingdom Park (where the old hat shop used to be in Town Square). 10. Capture Your Moment $$ Photo memories from Walt Disney World are classic, but you can take your in-park photo experience to the next level by booking a Capture Your Moment photos session in your favorite park. You'll definitely feel special during this experience and you'll come away with lifelong photo memories and a magical time! Search “Capture Your Moment” on the Disney World website. 11. Aerophile Hot Air Balloon Ride, Disney Springs $ If you want to elevate the style of your Walt Disney World vacation literally, then a hot air balloon ride at Disney Springs is definitely worth it. This is super fun on clear days and at night (if you time it with fireworks, you're in for an extra special treat), as you get some amazing views and photos from 400 feet in the air. Instead of just watching the Aerophile balloon soar over Disney Springs, why not surprise your group with an experience they'll never forget. The balloon holds 29 people, but there are times when it's not full to capacity, which makes it even more magical. Definitely a unique way to experience the world in style.Shop at 1923 Main StreetThank you for listening to the Disney Travel Style Podcast at 1923MainStreet.com.Shop unique and original Disney-inspired clothing, including t-shirts, sweatshirt, hoodies, dresses, swimwear and more at 1923 Main Street.Follow along on

Part of the fun of a Walt Disney World vacation is planning and packing outfits to wear to the parks. Each Disney World park has its own unique identity, vibe and theme, so it can be fun to match your outfits to each park's personality. If you're looking for ideas or inspiration for what to pack and wear to each of the four parks at Walt Disney World, you've come to the right place. What Style to Wear in Each Disney World Theme Park Magic Kingdom – Vibe: Vintage and Original Disney Style As the original Walt Disney World theme park, Magic Kingdom is full of vintage Disney style. When you think of classic Disney, this is the park that most reflects that, which makes it easy to plan an outfit for Disney's Magic Kingdom Park. Casual Disney or Disney-inspired graphics t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, dresses and more are all ideal for Magic Kingdom. Whether it's classic Disney characters or villains, this is the park to rock that style with confidence. The same goes for accessories. Whether it's Minnie themed sunglasses or headbands, or a Mickey hat or ears, your classic Disney apparel has a home in Magic Kingdom Park.EPCOT – Vibe: The Most Fashion-Forward Disney Park If Walt Disney World had a park for fashionistas, that would be EPCOT. This is the park where you can feel free to dress up a little in your favorite designer or Disney-inspired sundress, button shirt, tops, skirts and more. With its abundance of themed festivals throughout the year and the “upscale” (in Disney terms) nature of World Showcase, EPCOT naturally lends itself to being the most fashion forward of all Disney World parks. Here is where you can break out your trendy casual outfits for a walk through world showcase. Sipping a glass of wine, beer or a mocktail lends itself to your Disney resort wear at EPCOT. Plus, you can also feel at home sporting your cultural colors here, particularly during festivals like Food and Wine or Flower and Garden (the latter of which is the perfect time to wear your new floral spring apparel). Accessorizing for EPCOT can mean designer sunglasses, fancy sunhats or your favorite cross-body bag or tote. Animal Kingdom – Vibe: Go Wild and Get Your Prints On Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is the obvious place for your favorite prints. Whether they're Disney-themed or not, prints and abstract or wildlife styles are all right at home here. Earth tones are a good choice, but don't be shy about adding a splash of color, as that's what you'll see throughout the park at the various marketplaces. If you're looking for a Disney-inspired outfit idea, safari wear is a great choice. Not only will you find Mickey, Minnie, Donald and more in their safari attire, but the park's ambiance lends itself to safari hats, khakis, camo, cargo shorts, safari shirts and more. From a pure Disney point of view, Lion King characters are a great choice, as are pretty much any animal themed Disney inspirations, including Zootopia, Nemo and others. Accessories that work well here follow a similar trend, with safari or animal print ears, bags, phone cases and more being right at home at Animal Kingdom. Hollywood Studios – Vibe: Classic Elegant Disney Mashup with Contemporary Disney IP Disney's Hollywood Studios is the park that offers the widest range of flexibility when it comes to styling your outfit for the day. That's largely because this park has always had a bit of an identity problem (ever since Michael Eisner hastily threw it together to beat Universal Orlando's opening). This is the everything bagel of Disney Parks, where it was all just thrown together in a hurry, but somehow tastes okay. At Hollywood Studios you can be right at home in anything from elegant retro Disney style, to futuristic Star Wars attire or even playful themes from Toy Story, the Muppets and modern Mickey animation. Whichever way you choose to go, use elegant style as a guiding principle for your outfit. At its heart, Hollywood Studios is still the glitz and glam of 1920s Hollywood. So keeping that in mind will help you get just the right touch. Accessories for Disney's Hollywood Studios can follow the generous amount of style options the park reflects, from trendy sunglasses and hats, to Disney-inspired backpacks and more. This is the park where almost anything goes, especially outfits that might not work perfectly anywhere else.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. December is a truly magical month to visit Walt Disney World. The parks, hotels and shopping areas are all decked out in their festive best for Christmas and the holidays, and the smells and scents of the season are in the air.How to Dress for December Weather and the Holiday Season at Walt Disney World If you are traveling to Walt Disney World in December 2024, here is what you need to know about the weather and other factors that will affect what you should pack and wear for your vacation. December 2024 in Orlando is Shaping Up to Be a Pretty Good Weather Month December at Walt Disney World is a month that can be a little unpredictable from year to year. Last year, for example, a Jollywood Nights party at Hollywood Studios was cancelled due to rain from a tropical storm…in December. Luckily, if you're traveling to Walt Disney World in December 2024, things are looking pretty good over the long term. This is the continuation of a warm trend that we have seen for several months now. Special events at Disney World in December will impact your vacation in a most magical manner. From Christmas parties at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and Hollywood Studios, to festive seasonal activities at EPCOT and lots of sweets, treats and drinks for the season, you can expect holiday crowds to soar towards the end of the month. Still, if you hang on to the holiday spirit during your stay, you will have a fantastic time.Weather Forecast for Walt Disney World in December 2024 The forecast for December 2024 at Walt Disney World sees a month that looks incredibly consistent. This is rare for December in Orlando and if this weather pattern holds, it is shaping up to be one of the best Decembers in many years. For December 2024, Orlando and Walt Disney World daytime highs are forecast to range from 55°F (13°C) to 79°F (26°C), while nighttime lows will hover around 48°F (9°C) to 68°F (20°C). The highs and lows are a bit of a red herring, as each one applies to only one days (and remember, this is a long-term forecast so it can change. But if we throw out those highs and lows, then December at Walt Disney World is looking good with average daily highs in the low 70s°F and average nightly lows in the mid 60s°F. On an almost shockingly positive note, December at Walt Disney World is showing very little – if any – rain. We'll take this with a grain of salt, but it is a good sign if nothing else. What to Pack for Walt Disney World in December 2024 Packing for Walt Disney World in December 2024 means packing for a nice, sunny weather during the day and moderately cooler weather at night. Shorts and t-shirts (or any of the top five most common outfits for Disney Parks) will be fine for most guests in December during the day. If you plan to spend time outdoors at night (at a holiday party, for example), then a hoodie or light jacket is a good thing to pack. If you love to dress up in Christmas or festive holiday clothes, then this is the month to do it. You can go over the top or just have a little subtle Disney clothing. Either way, you'll fit right in and help to spread the holiday cheer to other guests and cast members. Watch for the biggest crowds of the year during Christmas/New Years week. Be sure to pack your patience if you're visiting at this time because the crowds in parks can be over the top (and Magic Kingdom Park has been known to close due to capacity). And, as always, be sure the check the weather forecast for Orlando on a local Orlando weather media outlet the day before you leave for your vacation. This will give you the most up-to-date and accurate vacation forecast.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. Will you be visiting Walt Disney World in October 2024? October is typically a great month to visit Orlando and Walt Disney World. This year, it looks like the weather will co-operate to make for some great vacation time at the Most Magical Place on Earth. How to Dress for October Weather and the Halloween Season at Walt Disney World October 2024 in Orlando is Shaping Up to Be a Pretty Good Weather MonthOctober can be a great month to visit Disney World, especially if you like Halloween. Halloween décor and festivities are in full swing in October and the spooky season mood will be all around you. Of course, if Halloween isn't your thing, it's not the only game in town. The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is also under way in October, making a great option for more Disney fun and food. Also in October, Canadian Thanksgiving happens mid-month (October 14), so if you are visiting Walt Disney World at that time you may see elevated crowds surrounding that weekend.Weather Forecast for Walt Disney World in October 2024The forecast for October 2024 at Walt Disney World continues this year's trend of warmer-than-normal weather for Orlando. For October 2024, Orlando and Walt Disney World daytime highs are forecast to range from 79°F (26°C) to 88°F (31°C), while nighttime lows will hover around 66°F (19°C) to 73°F (23°C). This is a little cooler than September, but still very warm and pleasant for your Disney vacation.Another good sign is that there isn't expected to be too much rain in the forecast. Of course, rain can be somewhat unpredictable in Orlando (especially with warmer temperatures), but October is looking to be a little drier than September.October will start out with temperatures on the warmer side and then cool very slightly as the month progresses. All in all, however, October 2024 is shaping up to be a very good weather month at Walt Disney World. What to Pack for Walt Disney World in October 2024Packing for Walt Disney World in October 2024 means packing for a warm weather vacation. The nights will not be cold, so you can still get away with packing relatively light this October. With Halloween being in full swing in October, it's definitely a good idea to pack a seasonal outfit, t-shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie – if you have one. Evenings should be just cool enough on some days so that you won't be too hot in a hoodie once the sun goes down.Of course, if you plan to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom Park, you may want to bring a costume of some sort to celebrate the event.Beyond Halloween, it's also fall, so fall-themed attire is another top pick for October at Walt Disney World.Given the warm temperatures, daytime outfits can include t-shirts, shorts, dresses and pretty much anything that you'd wear on a nice summer day. Evenings will be moderately cooler, so a hoodie or light jacket for after the sun goes down is also worth packing.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. Have you been to Disneyland? Well, if you ever have there's a great chance that you've seen the Country Bear Jamboree, one of the last attractions that Walt Disney personally helped to build. They've been featured at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida since 1971 and have been a favorite of fans of Disney for years, though they were originally planned for a park that was never built, a ski resort in Mineral King, California. Bad news though, it's going away. For how long? Plus many of your favorite Magic Shots are also back this year, including the Headless Horseman and Oogie Boogie. Where to Find Disney Photo Ops during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Multiple locations (Evil Queen's hand and a poison apple) NEW! At the entrance to the park and on Main Street, U.S.A. (TinkerBell in your hand and Halloween Mickey balloons, Donald's nephews in costume, lonesome ghosts) NEW! Town Square near the flag pole (holding a Mickey shaped pumpkin) Select spots in front of and near Cinderella Castle (fire pumpkin) Near the gardens in front of Casey's Corner and The Plaza Restaurant (pumpkin patch) NEW! Liberty Square near the Hall of Presidents (hitchhiking ghosts, headless horseman) In front of the Haunted Mansion (holding a lantern) At the castle walls near Pinocchio Village Haus (Maleficent dragon) Near the main entrance to Storybook Circus (fun photos, not scary) Near the Purple Wall (just past Tomorrowland Terrace)(scary cartoon monsters in costume) and at many of the party character greetings Some of the coolest Disney photo opportunities with the spookiest ambiance are those that you get in black and white. Every tourist destination wants their guests to have a happy experience, but few places do that as well as Disney World in Orlando, Florida. When Disney World visitors were surveyed, 75% said they were very satisfied with their experience. Did you know, the Magic Kingdom Park at Disney World gets around 21 million visitors every year? And if you combine all of the Disney parks, it's around 58 million people each year. And people keep coming back. And for anyone with kids, it's a no-brainer – that's where the kids want to go. My guest today is Tricia. She and her sister, Heather, and their mom and dad, would make trips to Disney World every year. It was a family tradition that they all looked forward to. They knew the layout of the Magic Kingdom by heart, and it didn't matter that the rides and the attractions and the fireworks were the same as when they were there the year before. It was their place. But there was one family trip to Disney World that was not like any of the others. Here's a sneak peek at what to expect:No More Theme Park Reservations! As of January 9, 2024, if you have a date-based ticket, you won't need to make theme park reservations.Annual Passholders will Still Need Park Reservations...but not always. It gets more complicated for Disney World Annual Passholders. Disney plans to offer what they're calling "good-to-go" days with means AP holders won't need park reservations for select days. This will be in addition to the recent update that offers Passholders the opportunity to visit the theme parks after 2:00 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. “Good-to-go” days may vary by park, and pass block out dates and capacity limitations continue to apply like they do today. Please stay tuned for more details on “good-to-go” days. This is a step in the right direction for local AP holders, but doesn't help you much at all if you are an out-of-state WDW AP holder who books weekly vacations multiple times a year. It looks like those of us in this boat will be stuck with Park Pass for the foreseeable future. Disney is converting the Cabins at Fort Wilderness to Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Villas. What will this mean for DVC Members and Fort Wilderness guests? This story, plus the first look at the the 2023 edition of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (including some insider tips).Fort Wilderness Cabins being re-imagined and converted to DVC Resort OfferingIn an unexpected move, Walt Disney World Resort announced plans to refresh the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and convert them into DVC properties. The proposed plans call for more than 350 new cabins across all 750 acres to replace the existing cabins. The new cabins would use the existing footprint and take advantage of energy-efficient features. There is a lot to unpack in this story. We discuss many questions, including how will Disney manage having a Moderate property as a Deluxe Villa? Will additional amenities be added to keep in line with DVC standards? Will the cabins located close to the Settlement Trading Post remain, or will they be removed and only the cabin neighborhoods be converted? This and more in this episode of the show.Design concepts shared by Disney show what Disney calls "a fresh take on the current cabin experience ... while also paying homage to the resort's unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling." The design has received mixed reviews. The one-bedroom cabins sleep up to six adults, and feature a bathroom, living room, full kitchen and private patio. A select number of cabins are also expected to be dog-friendly. In our view, the design concepts shared by Disney do not fill well in Fort Wilderness. They look more like sheds than cabins and are far too modern for the theming of this property. As with all Disney Vacation Club resorts, the cabins would continue to be open for reservations to all guests, based on availability. The planned cabins are part of a collection of improvement projects underway at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground that are designed to enhance the guest experience. Examples include proposed pool and walking trail enhancements as well as new expanded dining experiences at Trail's End Restaurant and Crockett's Tavern, with more exciting news to come. The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort is projected to open in 2024 and would be the 17th Disney Vacation Club resort. As always, more details will follow and we will share them here at that time. Disney has now officially announced that a real-life one-act musical theater production of “Rogers: The Musical” will hit the stage at the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure Park for a limited-time engagement, starting June 30, 2023. The production features a cast of singers and dancers telling the story of Steve Rogers joined by Peggy Carter, Nick Fury and select members of the Avengers. The musical will take us on a journey from Steve's humble beginnings during World War II to becoming Captain America, leading the Avengers and beyond. Music will include “Save the City,” from the Disney+ series “Hawkeye”; “Star Spangled Man” from the film “Captain America: The First Avenger”; plus, five new original songs written just for “Rogers: The Musical” at the Disneyland Resort.“Rogers: The Musical” is a 30 minute show that will take place from Tuesday through Saturday most weeks. More details as the date draws closer.--Mama Odie to Make a Big Appearance in Tiana's Bayou AdventureNew ride renderings released by Disney show Mama Odie joking with guests along the journey after a special display of her magic. The two-hundred-year-old Bayou Fairy Godmother, with her eccentric belongings and “seeing eye snake” Juju, is comically eccentric (yet wise and all-knowing) throughout the adventure. Actress Jenifer Lewis, who voiced Mama Odie in “The Princess and the Frog,” is returning to her role for the attraction. To make room for this new magic, Splash Mountain at Disneyland park will be closed starting May 31, 2023, so we can begin the next phase of development for Tiana's Bayou Adventure.--Star Tours Sets Course for New Adventures in 2024In 2024, Disney will (finally) be adding more stories and characters to Star Tours at both Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disneyland Park in California. It has been awhile since significant updates have occurred. Let's Do the MathUsing our real-life example from Spring 2023, the cost of Disney Parks Tickets (Park Hopper Plus) ages 10+ and valid any 8 days was $800.66. Looking at the costs above, that means that if you generally travel to Walt Disney World for approximately 10 days in a year (or more), then the Disney Sorcerer Pass is worth it (if you qualify). If you generally travel to Walt Disney World for approximately 14 days in a year (or more), then the Disney Incredi-Pass is worth it.-- DisneyBand+ Wearable Technology is coming to Disney Cruise Line: Is this Just a DCL-branded MagicBand+?DisneyBand+ is coming to Disney Cruise Line, starting with a preview on select Disney Wish sailings before it officially debuts. With DisneyBand+, you will be able to take advantage of hands-free conveniences for the first time on a Disney cruise. Onboard photographers around the ship will tap your DisneyBand+ to link photos to your stateroom, making it easier to view and purchase photos during their cruise.DisneyBand+ will also allow you to uncover surprises throughout the cruise, so watch for extra moments of magic. The big question is, isn't this just a MagicBand+ with Disney Cruise Line designs? While we don't know for certain, the answer appears to be yet. Will the new enhancements mean for a better dining experience? We're hoping it will, but the signs are not all positive that Disney has addressed past issues at Narcoossee's. As far as the menu is concerned, it's not entirely new--which is disappointing, as the menu was a big issue. The Bisque is back, but with a new tableside presentation. There are also two new starters: the Beef and Ricotta Tortelloni (with brown butter, parsnip puree, and sultanta raisins) and the Ocean-inspired Charcuterie Board featuring ahi tuna pastrami, charred octopus, and house-made sausage from the sea. For the main course, Chef Noah's signature dish is the Blackened Redfish. This is served with a crispy chorizo-sunchoke hash with hominy, Florida sweet corn, and red pepper rouille. Plant-based dishes include a Roasted Vegetable Paella featuring market vegetables, cannellini beans, and preserved artichoke finished with charred Meyer lemon. Land-based fare includes a new Dry-Aged Pork Ribeye Chop served with creamy goat cheese-potatoes and turnips with onion jam and a touch of fig jus.Chefs have kept Narcoossee's staples like the Plancha-seared Scallops with Parisian Gnocchi and Surf and Turf featuring filet mignon and butter-poached lobster tail. The dessert course kept their trademark Almond-crusted Cheesecake with Lambert cherry sauce and Chantilly cream. New dessert items include The Berry Pavlova -- artfully crafted with Florida fresh berries and citrus delicately placed over meringue and yuzu crémeux and finished with a tableside pour of anglaise. And the Pineapple Bavarois (roasted-pineapple house-made blackberry-buttermilk ice cream). The wine list has been refreshed with pairings for each dish and the bar team has anew cocktail program, inspired by the Victorian era. Disney is touting a signature Empress Lime Gimlet, a modern twist on a classic gimlet with Empress Gin, Rockey's Botanical Liqueur, and cold-pressed lime. There are non-alcoholic cocktails as well.--San Fransokyo Square appears at Disney California Adventure Park in Summer 2023Pacific Wharf in Disney California Adventure park is transforming into San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6. Will Frontierland disappear forever at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom? New details about Tiana's upcoming attraction and restaurant hint at some big changes for the area currently known as Frontierland. This story, plus construction delays at Disneyland and construction inconveniences at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Not So Fast! Mickey's Toontown Pushes Back Opening Date at Disneyland ParkIf you were counting down the days until March 8 for the opening of the all-new Mickey's ToonTown at Disneyland, you'll have to count a little longer. According to Disney, the heavy winter rain storms affecting parts of California have impacted their construction timelines, setting them back. As a result Disney has pushed back reopening date of Mickey's Toontown to March 19, 2023. This will most affect guests who have vacations planned between March 8 and March 19 and who may have been looking forward to visiting.--It's Going to be Harder to Get Those Steps at Disney Grand Floridian ResortAs we have reported in the past, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is in the midst of a fairly significant refurbishment project, which will see refreshed rooms and an updated main lobby. It's a big project that's lasting well over a year and will now be affecting the walking path between the Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom Park. As of February 13 the pathway is closed and won't reopen until "late Spring" (whatever that means).--There's a New Storyline Reveal for Tiana's Bayou Adventure and it May Give Some Hints of the Bigger Picture for Magic Kingdom that's AheadEveryone knows Tiana loves cooking and the restaurant Tiana's Palace coming to Disneyland is part of that. But Walt Disney Imagineering is creating more to the story. It starts in the queue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Tiana has transformed an aging salt mine and built a much-loved brand. The entire project includes a boutique farm and both a working and teaching kitchen. Tiana's Foods is where Tiana creates all sorts of new products, including a line of original hot sauces.Tiana wants to thank her family and friends and the entire community their support by throwing a big Mardi Gras party. When it turns out there's been a bit of a mix–up with the party preparations, Tiana invites us to meet her at Tiana's Foods to help with the missing ingredient for the party. There's much more to this story, but reading into it sounds like be could see new Tiana Hot Sauces, a Magic Kingdom Mardi Gras party and Pecos Bill's transforming into Tiana's Kitchen. They may even offer food classes for kids. Many people are concerned about what's happening to Frontierland, but when you factor in Beyond Big Thunder Mountain, there may be a much bigger picture about to unfold. We'll keep you posted as Disney releases more details about what's to come at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in 2024.--Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, Amelia and I hope that you enjoyed it.
