Join James and Tage this week as they are joined by Teresa and Vern as they discuss their biggest Disney disappointment, or Disnappointment, what they want to check off next on their Disney bucket list, how they would feel if the Haunted Mansion Holiday was only available during the winter holiday, and what they think Disney should do to upgrade or replace the Fantasyland dark rides. Support the podcast by going to https://www.thehubcrawl.com/support. Maybe your support will go towards vern's next churro. Question 1: What has been your biggest Disney disappointment? Question 2: What is the next thing you would like to check off your Disney bucket list? Question 3: With all the hubbub this month about wrong dates on Haunted Mansion Holiday, how would you feel it it only ran as a winter holiday attraction — and not in Spooky Season? Question 4: As Disneyland continues to raise the bar on how attractions can be done, and the rides themselves keep becoming more and more thrilling, do you foresee a future where the Fantasyland dark rides will be either upgraded or just aged out and replaced? Bonus Question: Whats a “free” or “included with entry” item that you have really enjoyed receiving from Disney?

Then bare with some stroller sounds before taking a reprieve at the Tiki Room lanai for a moment.Afterward, head down Main Street before exiting for the evening. casually walk past Matterhorn, Fantasyland, meander in Fantasy Faire before heading through Frontierland and into Galaxy's Edge. This week, Haunted Mansion Holiday is back open, we have all the details, Keyholders get first pick of Halloween merch, Deadpool and Wolverine arrive at the resort to big crowds, more Encanto could be coming to the resort, we finish our talk with Lorcana artist Casey Robin, and more! Please support the show if you can by going to https://www.dlweekly.net/support/. Check out all of our current partners and exclusive discounts at https://www.dlweekly.net/promos. News: We are recording a day earlier than usual this week, so it is Haunted Mansion Holiday reopening day! The Haunted Mansion has reopened with a virtual queue only option with the majority of the queue still under construction. Guests will need to go into the Disneyland App at 7am or 12pm to try and snag a spot in the virtual queue. For the 7am slot, you do not need to be in the park, but you do need to have scanned into either park before securing a spot for the noon opportunity. – https://www.micechat.com/365986-disneyland-shocker-haunted-mansion-expansions/ Guests that were able to get a virtual queue for the attraction and post video and photos online allowed us to see what has been updated and changed. The exterior queue feels very much like the queue previously, but the walkway is now wide enough for three lines; one for standby, one for Lightning Lane, and one for ADA exit. The hearse has been moved closer to the entrance, and the detail on the path is excellent. The Lightning Lane scan points are now closer to the entrance to the mansion itself. – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JWEG3BJyuU Haunted Mansion Holiday opening is signaling the approaching Halloween season! Magic Keyholders had the opportunity to purchase some of the new merchandise for the holiday starting July 27th at World of Disney. Some of the items included a Spirit Jersey with a tie dye design, a candy corn inspired Loungefly bag, a spooky purple tee, candy corn inspired ears, and more! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2024/07/24/exclusive-new-souvenir-perk-announced-for-annual-passholders-in-disneyland/ In a stunning move, Disney California Adventure is now home to Deadpool and Wolverine. In the movies, Deadpool is a hard R-rated character, but is family friendly in the park. Together with Wolverine, the “Story Time with Deadpool” show is very fun to watch and is held in the courtyard of the Hyperion, between Guardians and the Hyperion. Deadpool has also shown up in the “Awesome Dance Off,” and “Avengers Assemble” shows in Avengers Campus. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2024/07/27/i-am-shocked-and-grateful-that-disney-let-these-2-characters-into-a-park/ More Encanto is coming to the resort, according to a casting call online. There is already a Mirabel meet and greet, but this call is looking for a Mirabel who can sing! It is listed as a limited-time offering, so it could be for the holidays, or a limited-time show, or something else. However, any Encanto in the park is better than no Encanto! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2024/07/26/we-found-a-clue-that-a-new-encanto-show-is-coming-to-a-disney-park/ In a bit of possible good news for Cast Members, Disney and the UFCW 324 union have reached an agreement. No details have come out and the official vote to accept the agreement takes place on July 29 (the day we recorded this episode) to accept the terms. Generally, it appears that the proposed 3-year contract contains significant wage increases for all cast members, seniority increases, and additional premiums, as well as the retention of premiums. There are also possible attendance policy changes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2024/07/24/unions-representing-14000-cast-members-reach-deal-with-disney/ In some parks-adjacent news, Hocus Pocus fans have a unique opportunity in Salem, Massachusetts. On September 20th fans can enter the Old Town Hall for an exclusive “I Put a Spell on You Masquerade.” The party will feature a DJ dance party, bars, souvenir gift bags, and, of course, live performances by the Sanderson Sisters! A limited number of early bird tickets are on sale at the link in our show notes starting at $150, plus fees for general admission and $215, plus fees for VIP admission which includes an autographed copy of the book “Hocus Pocus in Focus”, a photo op with the Sanderson Sisters, and more. – https://www.micechat.com/392749-hocus-pocus-masquerade-party/ SnackChat Tiana's Palace – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/tianas-palace/menus Discussion Topic: Casey Robin – https://www.caseyrobin.com/ Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/caseyrobin/ Wildermage Games – https://www.wildermagegames.com/

For the reopening, guests will be able to experience the attraction through virtual queue only, with no standby available. The “Bubbles Experience at Downtown Disney District presented by Disney Jr's Ariel” will take place from noon to 4pm from July 1st through July 31st. A bubble moment will happen every half hour, with a DJ hosting at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage and lawn. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/din-tai-fung-opening-plus-more-this-summer-in-downtown-disney-district/ A highly anticipated restaurant has soft opened in Downtown Disney! Din Tai Fung started serving guests on June 24th with a limited menu. The official opening will be sometime in July. Guests can make reservations through the Din Tai Fung website. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/din-tai-fung-opening-plus-more-this-summer-in-downtown-disney-district/ There has been quite a few closures at Disneyland, and around the resort, with even more are coming in August. Starting August 5th, the Disneyland Railroad will be closed, along with Space Mountain, Turtle Talk with Crush, and the Animation Academy! We don't have reopening dates yet, but it is good that they are keeping the attractions maintained. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2024/06/25/brace-yourself-4-ride-and-attraction-closures-are-coming-to-disneyland/ Something new has appeared on the stage in the Golden Horseshoe. It isn't entertainment unfortunately, but a display for Celebrate Soulfully! The new display highlights black music in America at the turn of the 20th century. The exhibit is on the stage, so until it leaves, there will not be any live music. – https://www.micechat.com/389280-disneyland-update-a-week-of-history-change-envy/ Summer is just starting, but Disney is already preparing for the holidays. Our good friend and newly-sentient amorphous blob of characters Garrett Smith "makes" us watch one of the most groundbreaking animated features of all time, a 1993 stop-motion animated borderline-experimental quasi-operatic tone poem of a film about the shenanigans that ensue when the bored leader of an annual tradition finds a buncha magic trees containing the other annual traditions and decides to colonize one of them, filled with gorgeous sumptuous visuals, haunting musical numbers and some guy's name in the title who didn't direct it and only visited the set maybe ten times.
