Benny P is back to co-host another episode of Misadventures. In this episode, Tom reflects on his ride around the coast of Wales - a three-week journey of endurance, reflection, and a new love for the sea he never knew he needed.Ben brings stories from Chamonix, convincing us all we need a slice of that alpine magic next summer.Along the way, we dive into Tom's unlikely love affair with volunteering at Reading Festival (yes, that Reading Festival) and Ben's debrief from the Berlin Marathon. Throw in some parkrun tourism, a pinch of the Isle of Wight, a dash of indie sleaze nostalgia, and a ridiculous story from the Great British Misadventures jar – and trust us, this one's guaranteed to make you laugh. Our podcast editor, Erin Phifer, is back for her second episode to recap her wild ride at the 2025 Berlin Marathon. What started as a race that just happened to fit her work schedule turned into her hottest, hardest, and most meaningful marathon yet. Erin opens up about juggling a foot injury, getting certified as a run coach mid-training, and learning when to trust herself instead of an app. She shares how she handled the record heat, why her run-walk strategy saved the day, and what it felt like to run through the Brandenburg Gate after wondering if she'd even make it to the start line. It's an honest, funny, and full-circle conversation about growth, grit, and showing up anyway. This week we chat with Ali Feller, podcaster extraordinaire as host of the "Ali On The Run" podcast show. Ali doesn't just talk with elite marathon and track stars. She also, somehow, hunts down running guests like Chelsea Clinton and Ellie Kemper of "The Office" TV show.Did Harry Styles just run the Berlin Marathon in under 3 hours? Yes, and Ali has already published a pod with the Canadian woman who paced him for the first 10 miles. (And she hints that she could actually get through to Styles himself soon.)What's your favorite food? Your favorite movie? The most fun you've had in the last week? These and other spontaneous questions make up a big part of each Ali-Feller interview. No one's exactly sure of where the conversation is headed, which is a damn good reason to keep listening. But life is not ha-ha all the time, particularly not Feller's. Her own battles with Crohn's Disease and breast cancer have presented plenty of challenges, but somehow she keeps putting one foot in front of the other. In fact, she's making numerous appearances this fall at the Chicago and NYC Marathons, while continuing to churn out several new podcasts per week. We asked where she gets her endurance. Answer: She considers herself "delusionally optimistic" about life, motherhood, running, and her podcast career. We and all her friends and listeners are rooting hard for her.You can learn more about Ali Feller on her website or Instagram page. In this episode we speak with three runners from Team Abbott — a community of runners who have faced serious health challenges but didn't let those challenges define them! [powerpress] About Our Guests Elizabeth Pehota (Boston, MA): Three days out from running the 2022 Berlin Marathon, Elizabeth Pehota experienced a feeling of pins and needles in her hands, feet and thighs, and an unnatural resistance while running. Soon after, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system. As someone who shares her daily life on social media, Elizabeth, @healthy_cheers on Instagram, only recently opened up about her diagnosis, but has already formed relationships with other MS patients around the world. Elizabeth is an Abbott World Marathon Major Six Star Finisher and received her seventh star in Sydney. Ed Barnes (Douglas, MA): Ed was born with a congenital heart condition and at age 15 he started to experience frequent dizziness - to the point of nearly passing out - leading him to undergo open heart surgery to receive an Abbott artificial aortic heart valve. This year, after completing the Boston Marathon, Ed became the first person with an artificial heart valve to finish all seven Abbott World Marathon Majors.   Mary Tawney Suarez (Fullerton, CA): Just before the pandemic, Mary started experiencing seizures and was diagnosed with Epilepsy and a brain cyst. One year later, she started experiencing back pain and numbness in her legs, which was revealed to be the degeneration of the cerebral and lower part of her spine. Despite these obstacles, Mary has continued running, and just finished the Berlin Marathon. [box] Links Mentioned in This Episode Run Coaching. Work with an expert MTA running Coach. This week we bring all of it together—training breakthroughs, fandom debates, and the power of community—with NYT bestselling author AJ Wolfe, the voice behind Disney Food Blog and AllEars. We dig into her book Disney Adults asking why the label sparks so much heat online, and how subcultures like DisneyBounding, Dapper Days, and RunDisney become places people actually live. AJ doesn't sugarcoat it: the same fans who keep the parks humming can be a pain for the company—and each other—yet they're also the first to show up with support, charity dollars, and creative traditions that make the magic feel personal. We keep it real on training, too. Greg crushes his magic half mile and stares down faster paces; Alysha returns stronger after injury thanks to strength and consistency; and Bob talks honestly about listening to your body, walking long runs, and knowing the difference between “owie” and injury. Our Wine & Dine merch take is practical—smart layers beat closet clutter—and AJ drops festival strategy: weekday mornings, skip the worst lines, and aim for raclette, poutine, and solid plant-based picks. We also spotlight the Parkinson's Foundation: how to grab charity bibs, the perks you get, and fundraising tactics that actually work (start early, share your why, leverage matching gifts, and thank like you mean it).The race report brings the color: a hot Berlin Marathon with slick water stops, booming spectators, and even an inline marathon flying past; humid Florida miles with thin hydration but top-tier vibes; stadium hills, muddy dog runs, and a squawking chicken medal you need to see to believe. Episode 210 is a full plate of running, Disney culture, and community wins—proof that better training, better races, and better trips all start with better questions. If this episode made you think, laugh, or plan your next finish line, tap follow, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review.
