Today we welcome back Peter Sweeney better known as Rustal to the Four Four premiere series, as the RLSD boss features on Diffuse Reality. We premiere the track ‘Pixies Return' a dark and cloudy take on classic dub techno with Rustal's signature rolling grooves at the helm of an addictive rhythm. Peter Sweeney better known as Rustal joins Diffuse Reality with his mini-album ‘Nexus Zeal' which is due for release on the 12th of December. Rustal joins the labels formidable list of previous of previous releases which includes work from Sunil Sharpe, Dez Williams, Orlando Voorn, Marcel Dettmann, Mary Velo, Zadig and more. Rustal's sound is heavily influenced by authoritative techno figures, wether it be Claude Young, Steve Rachmad, Shifted or Moritz von Oswald, the Dublin native is known for extensively delving into classic and contemporary techno sounds. Peter's obsession for cavernous techno experimentation has landed him in some elite clubs, cities, parties and played alongside some of the world's finest. Diffuse Reality has become one of the most powerful establishments within modern techno. The label was founded in Barcelona in 2013 and has since become a hotbed for forward thinking and cultivated techno from a variety of established and dexterous artists. The lables previous releases from some of the most prominent names within techno culture speak for themselves, and the label has been devoted to sculpting a home for dynamic techno for just under a decade. Rustal's six track contribution to Diffuse Reality show's the Dublin native at his very best. The RLSD boss stretches loops and expands on cavernous grooves with great ease. Winding sequences and deep-seated synth cycles meet rolling low end & shuffling percussive grooves for a mini album that simply scream techno funk. That CD and digital release featured many of the guests that had appeared on the Bass Agenda Radio show in its first year, such as w1b0, The Exaltics, Sync24, Scape One, The Hidden Persuader, and Alavux. Since 2013 the label has put out over 100 releases on digital, vinyl, CD, and USB formats spanning the various nuanced styles in the Electro genre, and Techno too. Just like the radio show, the focus of the Bass Agenda label is on exploring the wide range of sounds out there and doing so by releasing music by brand new talents, established artists doing new things, and some of the Electro genre's biggest names. The label has been championed since its inception by Dave Clarke and has grown over the years to become a regular source of tracks for home DJs, podcasters, magazines, and some the world's biggest names, including Juan Atkins, DJ Stingray, Helena Hauff, UMEK, Alienata, and many more. In 2020 Bass Agenda Recordings curated and released CAREBOT$, a massive 100+ tracks compilation raising money for NHS Charities Together and Médecins Sans Frontières Covid-19 initiatives. So far, the CAREBOT$ has raised over £10,000. After this project Andy Barton, who runs all things Bass Agenda, decided the label would take a break. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ALIENATA Spanish-born, Berlin-based Alienata is a self-described sound obsessive whose sets span obscure electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, jakbeat, hypnotic techno, industrial atmospheres, break beats, cosmic jazz , UK electro, Detroit, Chicago influences and crazy sounds in general. A former philosophy student with a particular interest in mysticism, Alienata began DJing in 2004. She has played at many festivals and clubs such as Krake Festival, Panorama Bar, Suicide Club, Corsica Studios, ADE and Fabric. When behind the decks, Alienata is closely attuned to both internal and external influences, and is unconcerned with providing listeners with an outstanding and energetic experience. It is not strange that legends like Dave Clarke ( who recently played a B2B in ADE ) DJ Stingray, Ben Sims or Ron Morelli have expressed all their support and respect for her. With all that knowledge behind and a true love for music she decided to start her own imprint “Discos Atónicos” in 2017 where she can materialize all its varied influences, counting on legendary artists like Beta Evers, Dez Williams, Artificiero, BS-1 or Cosmic Force. While primarily focusing on DJing, Alienata has released a few different records & remixes in recent years with collaborations with Snuffo of the jacking Snuff Crew & Sync24 -CEO of the legendary UK electro imprint Cultivated Electronics- Her most recent contribution has been to the great Ben Sims ‘Tribology' Compilation, together with artists of the size of Robert Hood, James Ruskin or Mark Broom.
