On experiencing Oregon back in 2019 and the rivalry...Was only on the sideline for that game, but being a Husky fan growing up, I know how important this is and you can tell in practice, the intensity is ramped up and you can feel guys are ready. On what clicks for him late in games...I just try to be resilient. Whether we're up or down, things are going our way, you have to keep your head in it. The coaches equate it to a heavyweight match, you might lose some rounds, but it's a long fight and you will have your time to win. On Oregon's defense and forcing turnovers...They have really good athletes, they have a great pass-rusher, they are fast up front and they can make you throw before you're ready to throw. They do a good job. On getting all of the wide receivers healthy...It's great to look out there and see those guys out there and knowing that they can win 50/50 balls and make plays. They are big and fast and lenghty and they can make plays with the ball. They can catch the ball in traffic, they have big frames, and their run-blocking is outstanding. They take more pride in that than catching a touchdown. On not turning the ball over...We always focus on being on the plus side of the turnover margin and that starts with me. We have a big emphasis on it and it will just be a focus the rest of the way. On building a stronger bond with the coaches and receivers...We're around each other all of time and when I hear a play call, usually it was something I had an idea would be called and so I am understanding things better. We have a comfort-level now because we kind of understand each other. They know what I throw well, I know what routes they run well, stuff like that. Same with the coaches. On Cade Otton...Defenses have done a good job of taking him away and they know where he's lined up, but we also have different ways we can find him and line him up. On bearing the brunt of the criticism of the fans...I hear it when I am on the field, but I can only control what I can control. I know it's tough for fans to understand what happened on a play. They don't always know the ins and outs of things. I just focus on getting ready for the game and watching film and being ready when we go out there. It's the nature of the position. I knew that going in. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Washington Huskies vs. Stanford Cardinal Pick Prediction 10/30/2021 by Tony T. Washington at Stanford Pick—Washington was riding a two game losing streak until they traveled to Arizona as a 17 point favorite. They couldn't separate enough from a bad Wildcats team winning 21-16 gaining only 305 yards. Huskies have averaged only 305 yards past three PAC 12 games running for 3.6 yards per rush. Huskies freshman quarterback Dylan Morris sacked nine times in that period. Cardinal quarterback Tanner McKee completing 62.5% against the PAC 12 with 8.3 yards per pass attempt. Quarterback edge with the Cardinal. Play Stanford -2.5.

On why he chose Washington...Definitely the culture. Coming from Bishop Gorman, they already had all the gear and treats, but it was a family atmosphere here and I always wanted to be a Dawg. On his position growing up...I was always a quarterback in peewees and little league. When I went to high school, I actually played defensive end, I got after DJ Uiongelele in our game against St. John Bosco that year. Eventually I transitioned to wide receiver and it went smooth. I always felt I could get it done from wherever I was playing, so it wasn't that hard. On the top receivers all being out early in the season...It was hard because we all wanted to helpt he team, but we had to keep working and getting healthy. On handling the adversity of things so far...We always talk about adversity and how to handle it. Whether it's the pandemic or the way things have gone this season, we've always worked hard to overcome adversity. On his first TD catch last week against UCLA... I have always felt the pressure to make plays. I wanted that one back on the other side of the field where I misplayed it, but I was able to come back and say "hi mom", so that was cool. I went over and pointed at her. On handling the 2-4 start...It's frustrating. UW has a history of success and we want to amplify that and we have the athletes to do that. It's not ideal, but we still have six games and we're going to keep working hard and building on things and hopefully we'll come out with some wins. On the wide receiver room...We're all pretty tight. It's about lifting each other up and about "being one". You want your brothers to succeed and they want you to succeed. Coach Junior Adams has done a good job of building that culture. On being a Dawg...I'm really happy here. I love it here. I love being a Dawg. It's a test we're going through right now with how the season has started, but we're drawing closer together and we're working as hard as we can to come out of it. On wearing a net over his head during practice...We have glasses too, but we're always looking for new tricks to enhance our game and make things harder so that when we take them off, it's easier. On what the team needs to do to be more consistent...We need to take advantage of our opportunities. We've left some plays out on the field. We need to execute. On lifting Dylan Morris up...He knows he needs to play better and we need to do a better job to go up and make plays to help him. He's a good leader, he is working his ass off to get better and we know he can play better. We know we all can play better. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Great having coaches Dori Bennett and Scott Laigo on the show… Another college football week is in the books, and we start with the Washington Huskies. As they continue to disappoint. Once again there was a failure at the coaching and quarterback position. At this point, Dylan Morris is not capable of leading his team to a win as he continues to turn the ball over. The bread and butter of this team year after year has been their defense. A defense that is unrecognizable at this juncture of the season. As UCLA steamrolled them to a tune of 237 rushing yards. Is time running out for this staff on Montlake? Speaking of time running out. It seems the clock has struck midnight on Nick Rolovich and his unvaccinated coaches. The Cougars coach may have won against the Cardinals this weekend, but his desire to remain unvaccinated has been a divisive topic for all Cougar fans at Pullman, WA. The number two team in the country suffered a loss and the new AP Top 25 poll is out. Also, this week in our SAA Tidbits segment, Scott and Dori discuss the NCAA's announcement to remove the minimum standardized test scores and what are those implications. Important information for our student-athletes and their parents. Music: Bensound

Quarterback Chance Nolan is completing 72.3% of his passes for an offense that posts 247 yards passing and 8.9 yards per pass attempt. Defensively they hold teams to 3 yards per carry and 6.8 per pass attempt. It was a disappointing start to the season for the Huskies losing at home to Montana and a road blowout loss at Michigan. They got past a home date with California in overtime but surrendered 457 yards to an offensively challenged Golden Bears team with 319 coming in the passing game. Arkansas St vs. Washington Pick Prediction 9/18/2021 by Tony T. Arkansas St at Washington—College football pick is Arkansas St Red Wolves +16.5. Washington the biggest disappointment thus far in college football. They opened with a 13-7 home loss to FCS Montana then traveled to Michigan and beat 31-10. Huskies offense generating only 317 yards per game with 1.9 per rush. Run defense has performed poorly for Washington by surrendering 235 yards and 5.2 per attempt. Arkansas St has experience with seventeen starters back. Red Wolves were competitive last week in a 55-50 loss and cover to Memphis. They did pile up 6801 yards on the Tigers defense. Huskies quarterback Dylan Morris is completing 56.6% of his passes with a touchdown and three picks. Washington averaging only 6.3 yards per pass attempt. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - found themselves on a call after Washington's 31-10 loss to Michigan Saturday night, trying to make sense of what they saw. And there wasn't much sense to it. Those UW fans hoping to see a much different team than the one that lost 13-7 to Montana were bound to be disappointed. The Huskies couldn't run the ball, and they couldn't stop the run. And that was really the tale of the tape. The Michigan Wolverines were bound and determine to stuff the ball down the Huskies' throat, and they did it in a resounding fashion. The offense was really poor for the second-straight week. There were no wrinkles in the run game to really speak of, putting the offense entirely on Dylan Morris's shoulders. Morris threw for nearly 300 yards and a score, but most of those numbers were piled up when the game was already out of reach. So the main question still remains; why? What has turned this offense, which wasn't incredible in 2020 but at least could score some points, into a total shambles? Where is the identity, the execution, the coaching? And is John Donovan the man that can deliver on Jimmy Lake's vision for a pro-style offense that starts with a power run game and includes an explosive passing element? Or is Lake's mandate simply beyond the reach of these players and coaches? And if that's the case, what does that say about Lake? Was there anything UW could hang their hat on? They didn't turn the ball over, so that was something. And they kept Michigan to 44 yards through the air, but that's because they only threw it 15 times. Grinolds, calling in from the sidelines at Michigan Stadium, offered up his take on the Michigan game day experience and how it compares to Pac-12 away days. Learn more about your ad choices.
